We construct approximate conservation laws for non-variational nonlinear perturbed (1+1) heat and wave equations by utilizing the partial Lagrangian approach. These perturbed nonlinear heat and wave equations arise in a number of important applications which are reviewed. Approximate symmetries of these have been obtained in the literature. Approximate partial Noether operators associated with a partial Lagrangian of the underlying perturbed heat and wave equations are derived herein. These approximate partial Noether operators are then used via the approximate version of the partial Noether theorem in the construction of approximate conservation laws of the underlying perturbed heat and wave equations.  相似文献

The Adomian decomposition method is applied to the Camassa–Holm equation. Approximate solutions are obtained for three smooth initial values. These solutions are weak solutions with some peaks. We plot those approximate solutions and find that they are very similar to the peaked soliton solutions. Also, one single and two anti-peakon approximate solutions are presented. Compared with the existing method, our procedure just works with the polynomial and algebraic computations for the CH equation.  相似文献

We show that first-order approximate symmetries of a class of nonlinear wave equations contain Lie symmetries as particular cases. In this paper, the problem of approximate symmetries of a class of nonlinear wave equations with a small nonlinear dissipation has been investigated. In order to compute the first-order approximate symmetry, we have applied the method that was proposed by Valenti basically based on the expansion of the dependent variables in perturbation series but removing the drawback of the impossibility to work in hierarchy in calculating symmetries. The algebraic structure of the approximate symmetries is discussed, an optimal system of one-dimensional subalgebras is defined and constructed, and, finally, some invariant solutions corresponding to the resulted symmetries are obtained.  相似文献

This paper formulates a two-dimensional strip packing problem as a non-linear programming(NLP)problem and establishes the first-order optimality con-ditions for the NLP problem.A numerical algorithm for solving this NLP problemis given to find exact solutions to strip-packing problems involving up to 10 items.Approximate solutions can be found for big-sized problems by decomposing the setof items into small-sized blocks of which each block adopts the proposed numericalalgorithm.Numerical results show that the approximate solutions to big-sized prob-lems obtained by this method are superior to those by NFDH,FFDH and BFDHapproaches.  相似文献

In the framework of approximate symmetries, we investigate a perturbed system of partial differential equations for viscoelastic media with nonlinear dissipation. We completely classify the approximate symmetries and prove a theorem on the relation between the symmetries of two related models. In some physical cases, we find approximate solutions using the generator of the group of transformations taken in the first-order approximation.  相似文献

Two algorithms used to evaluate the approximate symmetries of nonlinear systems are compared from a theoretical view point. The two quite distinct algorithms are cast into a form where one method can clearly be seen to be more general than the second. The circumstances for the equivalence of the two methods are presented and for these cases it is shown how the approximate symmetries found by one method may easily be calculated for the second. These ideas are exemplified by calculating new approximate symmetry reductions for a systems of advection–diffusion equations that describe the simultaneous transport of heat, moisture and solute in porous media and which contain unknown shape functions.  相似文献

In this paper we present a method for solving initial value problems related to second order matrix differential equations. This method is based on the existence of a solution of a certain algebraic matrix equation related to the problem, and it avoids the increase of the dimension of the problem for its resolution. Approximate duality theorems for mixed duality are given. Results on approximate duality in Wolfe type and Mond-Weir type are also derived. This work presents a geometrical formulation of the Clairin theory of conditional symmetries for higher-order systems of partial differential equations (PDEs). We devise methods for obtaining Lie algebras of conditional symmetries from known conditional symmetries, and unnecessary previous assumptions of the theory are removed. As a consequence, new insights into other types of conditional symmetries arise. We then apply the so-called PDE Lie systems to the derivation and analysis of Lie algebras of conditional symmetries. In particular, we develop a method for obtaining solutions of a higher-order system of PDEs via the solutions and geometric properties of a PDE Lie system, whose form gives a Lie algebra of conditional symmetries of the Clairin type. Our methods are illustrated with physically relevant examples such as nonlinear wave equations, the Gauss–Codazzi equations for minimal soliton surfaces, and generalised Liouville equations.  相似文献

近似周期时间序列具有近似的周期趋势,即近似周期性.所谓近似周期性是指它看起来有周期性,但是每个周期的长度不是常数,比如太阳黑子数序列.近似周期时间序列在社会经济现象建模中有着广泛的应用前景.对于近似周期时间序列,关键在于刻画它的近似周期趋势,因为一旦近似周期趋势被刻画出来它就可以作为一个普通的时间序列来处理.然而,关于近似周期趋势刻画的研究却很少. 本文首先建立一些必要的理论,特别地,提出了带长度压缩的保形变换概念,并且得到了带长度压缩的线性保形变换的充分必要,然后基于此理论作者提出了一种估计尺度变换的方法,该方法可以很好地估计出近似周期趋势.最后,对一个仿真实例进行了分析.结果表明,本文所提出的方法强力有效.  相似文献

From the approximate symmetry point of view, a perturbed system of partial differential equations (PDEs) for viscoelastic media is investigated. The corresponding complete approximate symmetry classification is derived and a fundamental task of the paper is the proof of a theorem that explores the relationship between the symmetries of our model and other models. In this paper the modelling by means of the different category graphs and analysis of vibrating subsystem of mechatronic systems by means of the exact and approximate methods have been presented. That approach was to nominate the relevance or irrelevance between the characteristics obtained by means of the exact method (only for the mechanical subsystem) and the approximate method. Such formulation concerns mostly the relevance of the natural frequencies-poles of the characteristics both mechanical subsystems and mechatronic systems. Approximate solutions requiring all the conditions for vibrating mechanical and/or mechatronic systems have been finding and it may be introduction to synthesis of these systems, modeled by different category graphs. Research limitation is following, that torsional vibrating continuous mechanical subsystem and mechatronic systems are linear type. Presentation the introduction to synthesis of considered class of mechatronic bar-systems with a constant changeable cross-section is practical implications of this work. Originality of such formulation is focused on the use of the different category graphs for modelling and synthesising by different methods represented by graphs of vibrating bars to the synthesis of considered discrete-continuous mechatronic systems. At the present time, the methods for the measurement and prediction of the dynamic strength of materials are complicated and unstandardized. An experimental data processing method based on the incubation time criterion is considered. Only a finite number of measurements containing random errors and limited statistical information are usually available in practice, since dynamic tests are laborious, and every individual test requires a lot of time. This strongly restricts the number of applicable data processing methods unless we are satisfied with approximate and heuristic solutions. The method of sign-perturbed sums (SPS) is used for the estimation of finite-sample confidence regions with a specified confidence probability under the assumption of noise symmetries. It is shown that several experimental points are sufficient to determine the strength parameter with an accuracy acceptable for engineering calculations. The applicability of the proposed method is demonstrated in the processing of a number of experiments on the dynamic fracture of rocks.  相似文献

Approximate stationary solutions of the Ostrovsky equation describing long weakly nonlinear waves in a rotating liquid are constructed. These solutions may be regarded as a periodic sequence of arcs of parabolas containing Korteweg-de Vries solitons at the junctures. Results of numerical computations of the dynamics of the approximate solutions obtained from the nonstationary Ostrovsky equation are presented. It is found that, in the presence of negative dispersion, the shape of a stationary wave is well predicted by the approximate theory, whereas the calculated wave velocity differs slightly from the theoretical value. The stationary solutions in media with positive dispersion are evidently unstable (at least for sufficiently strong rotation), and numerical computations demonstrate a complicated picture of nonstationary destruction.  相似文献

Summary Approximate solutions of the linear integral equation eigenvalue problem can be obtained by replacing the original kernel by an approximate kernel. This procedure results in a linear algebraic eigenvalue problem. In this paper we investigate the order of convergence of this method for simple eigenvalues and corresponding eigenfunctions. Our results confirm some numerically observed superconvergence phenomena.

We will discuss three different methods for finding symmetry solutions based on the Fréchet derivative common to each procedure. The methods discussed are Lie's standard procedure of symmetry analysis, the nonclassical method, and the derivation of potential symmetries. A ferromagnet in a strong external field represented by a nonlinear telegraph equation serves as an example describing the application of all three methods. The symmetry methods discussed are realized in a Mathematica package called MathLie performing all of the required calculations.  相似文献

The introduction of mathematical non-uniformity in the formulation of the turbulent mixing of a scalar quantity (mass, temperature, etc.) for a 2-d, free shear flow using Goertler's [ZAMM 22 (1942) 244] perturbation argument is discussed. Approximate, i.e. thin shear layer self-similar forms for mass, momentum and the scalar quantity are derived, and then linearized using Goertler's method. Though successful for the mean velocity field, the regular expansion yields inconsistent solutions for the transport of a scalar. Sources of the non-uniformity are identified using appropriate numerical methods for both non-linear and linear formulations. A consistent result is obtained by rescaling the independent variable and equation system and identifying dominant behavior. The results of this corrected formulation are shown to be consistent with the relationships obtained by the author using an approximate matched asymptotic expansion procedure.  相似文献

Summary We study the approximation of nonlinear equations in a neighbourhood of a bifurcation point of multiplicity two, in presence of symmetries. Under a fairly general approximation condition which preserves the symmetry properties of the problem, we define a discrete problem whose solutions are described precisely and we state sharp error estimates between the branches of exact and approximate solutions.  相似文献
