The measurement of parity-violating(PV)observables in few-nucleon system can shed light on our current understanding of the week interaction between nucleons.Theoretical models describe the nucleonnucleon weak interaction at low energies use a series of undetermined parameters.Two parity violating measurements have been considered: the capture of polarized slow neutrons on hydrogen((n)+p→d+γ)at Los Alamos National Laboratory for first phase and Oka Ridge National Laboratory for second phase and the helicity dependence of the deuteron photodisintegration cross section using circularly polarized photons((γ)+d→n+p*)at Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics.The goal of both experiments is to constraint the weak meson-nucleon couplings to a precision of 1 × 10-8.The introduction of both experiments is presented.  相似文献

The radiative capture process n + pd + γ provides clear evidence for meson exchange currents in nuclear physics. We compute this process at low energies using a recently developed power counting for the effective field theory that describes nucleon-nucleon interactions. The leading order contribution to this process comes from the photon coupling to the nucleon magnetic moments. At subleading order there are other contributions. Among these are graphs where the photon couples directly to pions, i.e. meson exchange currents. These diagrams are divergent and require the presence of a local four-nucleon-one-photon counterterm. The coefficient of this operator is determined by the measured cross section, σexpt = 334.2±0.5 mb, for incident neutrons with speed |v| = 2200 m/s.  相似文献

T-odd correlations that are possible in the processes n + p d + and n + p d + e+ + ee- and that arise due to the capture of thermal neutrons are determined in terms of threshold amplitudes (for the process n + p d + @#@) or electromagnetic inelastic form factors (for the process n + p d+ e+ + ee§-). A collective adiabatic approach is used to explore the total and differential cross sections for the reactions d + dp + 3H and d + dn + 3He at incident-deuteron energies of up to 6 MeV. All substantially contributing partial waves of order not higher than that of G waves are taken into account. The experimental value of the difference of the cross sections for the above mirror reactions is reproduced theoretically under the assumption that nuclear forces obey the condition of isotopic invariance. The positions and amplitudes of the maxima in the calculated total cross sections virtually coincide with those of the corresponding experimental values. It is shown that, around the maxima of the cross sections under study, dominant contributions to them come from the P wave. The sensitivity of observables to the parameters of nucleon-nucleon interaction is analyzed.  相似文献

The spin structure of the nucleon charge-exchange process n + pp + n is investigated. Analysis shows that the spin-dependent part of the differential cross section of the process n + pp + n at zero angle, which is proportional to the differential cross section of the deuteron charge-exchange breakup d + p → (pp) + n in the “forward” direction, plays the predominant role in the wide range of neutron momenta.  相似文献

The production of the pseudoscalar meson η'(958) is observed in the reaction e+e−→ e+eη′→e+eπ+πγ with the ARGUS detector at DESY. We measure the product Γγγ(η')Br(η′ →ϱγ) to be 1.13±0.04±0.13 keV. Using the known branching ratio s, we calculate Γγγ(η′) to be 3.76±0.13±0.47 keV and Γη' to be 203±32 keV.  相似文献

The energy and angular distributions of deuterons from the D + D → p + n + d reaction are experimentally and theoretically studied. The experiment is conducted on the U-240 cyclotron at the Institute for Nuclear Research in an extracted beam of deuterons with energy E D = 36.9 MeV. A theoretical analysis has been performed using the microscopic diffraction nuclear model, within which the final-state interaction is considered and simple expressions for internal wave functions and approximations that include quasibinary mechanisms are employed.  相似文献

An experiment on the radiative {+}-meson photoproduction from the proton ( p {+}n) was carried out at the Mainz Microtron MAMI in the kinematic region 537MeV < E < 817MeV, 140° 180°. The {+}-meson polarizabilities have been determined from a comparison of the data with the predictions of two different theoretical models, the first one being based on an effective pole model with pseudoscalar coupling while the second one is based on diagrams describing both resonant and nonresonant contributions. The validity of the models has been verified by comparing the predictions with the present experimental data in the kinematic region where the pion polarizability contribution is negligible ( s1 < 5m2) and where the difference between the predictions of the two models does not exceed 3%. In the region, where the pion polarizability contribution is substantial ( 5 < s1/m2 < 15, -12 < t/m2 < - 2), the difference of the electric () and the magnetic () polarizabilities has been determined. As a result we find . This result is at variance with recent calculations in the framework of chiral perturbation theory.  相似文献

We show that in the standard model the parametrically leading (by a factor 1/α(s)) contribution to the inclusive CP asymmetry in B→X(s,d)γ decays arises from a long-distance effect in the interference of the electromagnetic dipole amplitude with the amplitude for an up-quark penguin transition accompanied by soft gluon emission. Using model estimates for the associated hadronic parameter Λ(17)(u), we predict a value in the range -0.6% < A(X(s)γ)(SM) < 2.8%. In view of current experimental data, a future precision measurement of the flavor-averaged CP asymmetry would signal the presence of new physics only if a value below -2% was found. A cleaner probe of new physics is offered by the difference of the CP asymmetries in charged versus neutral B→X(s,d)γ decays.  相似文献

The reactions pK + and pK + 0 have been measured with the multiparticle detector system SAPHIR at ELSA in Bonn. Besides the differential cross sections the polarization and, for the first time, the 0 polarization have been determined in a photon induced reaction. All data are presented as functions of the photon energy (from threshold up to 1.47 GeV) and of the kaon production angle (0°–180°). The measurement of the forward-backward asymmetry A FB and the effective weak mixing angle with the Drell-Yan process at the LHC is presented. The samples of 2011 collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5 fb?1 and 1.1 fb?1, were used. The single-spin asymmetry A N in the reaction π ? + d π 0 + X in the beam-fragmentation region at the energy of 40 GeV was investigated by using the PROZA setup installed at the U-70 accelerator of the Institute for High Energy Physics (IHEP, Protvino). It was measured to be A N = (13.6 ± 2.6(stat.) ± 2.0(syst.))% in the intervals 0.7 < x F < 1.0 and 1.0 < p T < 1.8 GeV/c. The results agree with the asymmetry of π 0 mesons in the charge-exchange reaction π ? + p π 0 + n at the same values of the transverse momentum and beam energy. The asymmetry in the reaction K ? + d π 0 + X was simultaneously measured and found to be A N = (11 ± 14)% for p T > 1.2 GeV/c.  相似文献

Gamma-ray energy correlations have been measured for several reactions leading to light-mass Hf isotopes with 160 ?A?166. The correlation spectra show ridge-valley structures up to high rotational frequencies from which a drop in J c (2) is deduced at high frequencies. This drop suggests that a large portion of the angular momentum is generated by aligning particles. Solar neutrinos from the decay of 8B have been detected at the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory (SNO) via the charged current (CC) reaction on deuterium and by the elastic scattering (ES) of electrons. The CC reaction is sensitive exclusively to ν e, while the ES reaction also has a small sensitivity to ν μ and ν τ. The flux of ν e from 8B decay measured by the CC reaction rate is φ CC(ν e )=[1.75±0.07(stat.) ?0.11 +0.12 (syst.)×0.05(theor.)]×106cm?2s?1. Assuming no flavor transformation, the flux inferred from the ES reaction rate is φ ES(ν x )=[2.39±0.34(stat.) ?0.14 +0.16 (syst.)]×106cm?2s?1. Comparison of φ CC(ν e) to the Super-Kamiokande collaboration’s precision value of φ ES(ν x) yields a 3.3σ difference, assuming the systematic uncertainties are normally distributed, providing evidence that there is a nonelectron flavor active neutrino component in the solar flux. The total flux of active 8B neutrinos is thus determined to be (5.44±0.99)×106 cm?2 s?1, in close agreement with the predictions of solar models.  相似文献

Nuclear parity violation is studied with polarized neutrons in the photodisintegration of the deuteron at low energies. A pionless effective field theory with di-baryon fields is used for the investigation. Hadronic weak interactions are treated by parity-violating di-baryon–nucleon–nucleon vertices, which have undetermined coupling constants. A parity-violating asymmetry in the process is calculated for the incident photon energy up to 30 MeV. If experimental data for the parity-violating asymmetry become available in the future, we will be able to determine the unknown coupling constants in the parity-violating vertices.  相似文献

We present a study of the inclusive photon spectra from 5.9 million J/ψ decays collected with the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M e+e collider. We measure the branching fraction of radiative decay J/ψ→ηcγ, ηc width and mass. Our preliminary results are: M(ηc) = 2979.4± 1.5 ± 1.9 MeV/c^2, Г(ηc) = 27.8±5.1 ±3.3 MeV, B(Jψ→ηcγ) = (2.34±0.15±0.40)%.  相似文献

P-odd polarizational phenomena are considered in the radiative capture of neutrons by deuterons: n + d 3H + . It is shown that, in the general case, 18 different P-odd asymmetries of the angular distribution of quanta arise in the collision of arbitrarily polarized neutrons with a deuteron target characterized by vector and tensor polarizations. The P-odd contribution to the density matrix of the quanta formed in the capture of polarized neutrons by unpolarized deuterons is determined by eight real structural functions, while the P-odd dependence of the Stokes parameters of the photons on the tensor polarization of the deuterons is characterized, in the general case, by ten structural functions.
