We define and construct Ramanujan complexes. These are simplicial complexes which are higher dimensional analogues of Ramanujan graphs (constructed in [LPS]). Recently, Bruinier and Ono investigated the arithmetic of the coefficients of Ramanujan’s mock theta function ω(q). In Ramanujan J. (submitted) they obtained congruences with respect to the modulus 512. Here we show that ω(q) modulo 5 is dictated by an elliptic curve.  相似文献

Let K be a Hausdorff space and C b (K) be the Banach algebra of all complex bounded continuous functions on K. We study the Gateaux and Fréchet differentiability of subspaces of C b (K). Using this, we show that the set of all strong peak functions in a nontrivial separating separable subspace H of C b (K) is a dense G δ subset of H, if K is compact. This gives a generalized Bishop’s theorem, which says that the closure of the set of all strong peak points for H is the smallest closed norming subset of H. The classical Bishop’s theorem was proved for a separating subalgebra H and a metrizable compact space K.  相似文献

The minimum number of total independent partition sets of VE of graph G(V,E) is called the total chromatic number of G denoted by χ t (G). If the difference of the numbers of any two total independent partition sets of VE is no more than one, then the minimum number of total independent partition sets of VE is called the equitable total chromatic number of G, denoted by χ et (G). In this paper, we obtain the equitable total chromatic number of the join graph of fan and wheel with the same order. Crossing numbers of graphs are in general very difficult to compute. There are several known exact results on the crossing number of the Cartesian products of paths, cycles or stars with small graphs. In this paper we study cr(KmPn), the crossing number of the Cartesian product KmPn. We prove that for m ≥ 3,n ≥ 1 and cr(KmPn)≥ (n − 1)cr(Km+2e) + 2cr(Km+1). For m≤ 5, according to Klešč, Jendrol and Ščerbová, the equality holds. In this paper, we also prove that the equality holds for m = 6, i.e., cr(K6Pn) = 15n + 3. Gosper introduced the functions sinqz and cosqz as q-analogues for the trigonometric functions sin z and cos z respectively. He stated a variety of identities involving these two q-trigonometric functions along with certain constants denoted by \({\Pi _{{q^n}}}\) (n ∈ N). Gosper noticed that all his formulas on these constants have more than two of the \({\Pi _{{q^n}}}\). So, it is natural to raise the question of establishing identities involving only two of the \({\Pi _{{q^n}}}\). In this paper, our main goal is to give examples of such formulas in only two \({\Pi _{{q^n}}}\).  相似文献

The general summation theorem for well-poised 5 F 4-series discovered by Dougall (Proc. Edinb. Math. Soc. 25:114–132, 1907) is shown to imply several infinite series of Ramanujan-type for 1/π and 1/π 2, including those due to Bauer (J. Reine Angew. Math. 56:101–121, 1859) and Glaisher (Q. J. In this paper, using Young diagrams and generating functions techniques, we study the binomial formula (x+y) n and we present an identity for x m y. The crossing numbers of Cartesian products of paths, cycles or stars with all graphs of order at most four are known. The crossing numbers of GC n for some graphs G on five and six vertices and the cycle C n are also given. In this paper, we extend these results by determining the crossing number of the Cartesian product GC n , where G is a specific graph on six vertices.  相似文献

  (BB) m : Let (x, y, z) be a triple of vertices with ∂Γ(x, y) = 1 and ∂Γ(x, z) = ∂Γ(y, z) = m. Then B(x, z) = B(y, z).
  (CA) m : Let (x, y, z) be a triple of vertices with and |C(z, x) ∩ C(z, y)| ≥ 2. Then C(x, z) ∪ A(x, z) = C(y, z) ∪ A(y, z).
In [12] we have shown that the condition (SC) m holds if and only if both of the conditions (BB) i and (CA) i hold for i = 1,...,m. In this paper we show that if a 1 = 0 < a 2 and the condition (BB) i holds for i = 1,...,m, then the condition (CA) i holds for i = 1,...,m. In particular, the condition (SC) m holds. Applying this result we prove that a distance-regular graph with classical parameters (d, b, α, β) such that c 2 > 1 and a 1 = 0 < a 2 satisfies the condition (SC) i for i = 1,...,d − 1. Let be a ψ-density topology for a fixed function ψ. This paper is concerned with the family of ψ-continuous functions, that means continuous functions from (ℝ, ) into (ℝ, ). Three new summation formulas for 6 ψ 6 bilateral basic hypergeometric series attached to root systems are presented. Remarkably, two of these formulae, labelled by the A2n−1 and A2n root systems, can be reduced to multiple 6 φ 5 sums generalising the well-known van Diejen sum. This latter sum serves as the weight-function normalisation for the BC n q-Racah polynomials of van Diejen and Stokman. Two 8 φ 7-level extensions of the multiple 6 φ 5 sums, as well as their elliptic analogues, are conjectured. This opens up the prospect of constructing novel A-type extensions of the Koornwinder–Macdonald theory.  相似文献

We investigate the relation between analytic Campanato spaces \(\mathcal {AL}_{p,s}\) and the spaces F(pqs), characterize the bounded and compact Riemann–Stieltjes operators from \(\mathcal {AL}_{p,s}\) to \(F(p,p-s-1,s)\). We also describe the corona theorem and the interpolating sequences for the class \(F(p,p-2,s)\), which is the Möbius invariant subspace of the analytic Besov type spaces \(B_p(s)\).  相似文献

The aim of the paper is to obtain some theoretical and numerical properties of Saaty’s and Koczkodaj’s inconsistencies of pairwise comparison matrices (PRM). In the case of 3 ×  3 PRM, a differentiable one-to-one correspondence is given between Saaty’s inconsistency ratio and Koczkodaj’s inconsistency index based on the elements of PRM. In order to make a comparison of Saaty’s and Koczkodaj’s inconsistencies for 4  ×  4 pairwise comparison matrices, the average value of the maximal eigenvalues of randomly generated n ×  n PRM is formulated, the elements a ij (i < j) of which were randomly chosen from the ratio scale
with equal probability 1/(2M − 1) and a ji is defined as 1/a ij . By statistical analysis, the empirical distributions of the maximal eigenvalues of the PRM depending on the dimension number are obtained. As the dimension number increases, the shape of distributions gets similar to that of the normal ones. Finally, the inconsistency of asymmetry is dealt with, showing a different type of inconsistency.  相似文献
