Europium (Eu3+) doped YBa3B9O18 were synthesized by conventional solid state solidification methods. (Y1−xEux)Ba3B9O18 formed solid solutions in the range of x=0–1.0. The luminescence property measurements upon excitation in ultraviolet–visible range show well-known Eu3+ excitation and emission. The charge transfer excitation band of Eu3+ dominates the excitation spectra. The emission spectrum of Eu3+ ions consists mainly of several groups of lines in the 550–720 nm region, due to the transitions from the 5D0 level to the levels 7FJ (J=0, 1, 2, 3, 4) of Eu3+ ions. The dependence of luminescence intensity on Eu3+ concentration shows no concentration quenching for fully concentrated EuBa3B9O18. Eu3+ doped YBa3B9O18 are promising phosphors for applications in displays and optical devices.  相似文献

In this paper, a novel phosphor, Y6W2O15:Eu3+ was synthesized by thermal decomposition and phase transition of its decatungstate gel precursor. With stepwise increase of temperature to 750 °C, a crystalline phase of Y6W2O15:Eu3+forms that gives intense red emission when excited at 466 nm, the emission is attributed to the Eu3+ ions transitions from 5D0 excited states to 7FJ (J=0-4) ground states. The long excitation wavelength proves the Eu3+ transition follows the photoexcitation of the oxygen-metal (O→W lmct) charge transfer bands in yttrium tungstate. Some structural information regarding Y6W2O15 provided by luminescence is in accord with that characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The long-wavelength excitation properties of this material may find application in the production of red phosphors for white light-emitting diodes (LEDs).  相似文献

The interaction of Eu3+ with Sb3+ ions during the room temperature synthesis of luminescent Sb2O3 nanorods is investigated using luminescence and vibrational spectroscopic techniques. Our results demonstrate that well crystalline, oriented Sb2O3 nanorods having length of around 3-4 μm, a width of around 100-200 nm and luminescence at around 390 nm can be synthesized at room temperature. Incorporation of Eu3+ in these nanorods has been attempted and it is found that Eu3+ ions do not have any interaction with nanorods and their orientation. Detailed Eu3+ luminescence and XRD studies confirmed that a part of Sb3+ ions reacts with Eu3+ ions in the presence of hydroxyl ions (present in the medium) to form an amorphous antimony europium hydroxide compound. The amorphous compound on heating at high temperatures leads to its decomposition, giving hydrated Sb(V) oxides and Eu2O3 as major phases.  相似文献

The nanocrystalline Gd2O3:Eu3+ powders with cubic phase were prepared by a combustion method in the presence of urea and glycol. The effects of the annealing temperature on the crystallization and luminescence properties were studied. The results of XRD show pure phase can be obtained, the average crystallite size could be calculated as 7, 8, 15, and 23 nm for the precursor and samples annealed at 600, 700 and 800 °C, respectively, which coincided with the results from TEM images. The emission intensity, host absorption and charge transfer band intensity increased with increasing the temperature. The slightly broad emission peak at 610 nm for smaller particles can be observed. The ratio of host absorption to O2−-Eu3+ charge transfer band of smaller nanoparticles is much stronger compared with that for larger nanoparticles, furthermore, the luminescence lifetimes of nanoparticles increased with increasing particles size. The effects of doping concentration of Eu3+ on luminescence lifetimes and intensities were also discussed. The samples exhibited a higher quenching concentration of Eu3+, and luminescence lifetimes of nanoparticles are related to annealing temperature of samples and the doping concentration of Eu3+ ions.  相似文献

Long persistent SrAl2O4:Eu2+ phosphors co-doped with Dy3+ were prepared by the solid state reaction method. The main diffraction peaks of the monoclinic structure of SrAl2O4 were observed in all the samples. The broad band emission spectra at 497 nm for SrAl2O4:Eu2+, Dy3+ were observed and the emission is attributed to the 4f65d1 to 4f7 transition of Eu2+ ions. The samples annealed at 1100–1200 °C showed similar broad TL glow curves centered at 120 °C. The similar TL glow curves suggest that the traps responsible for them are similar. The long afterglow displayed by the phosphors annealed at different temperatures, may be attributed to the Dy3+ ions acting as the hole trap levels, which play an important role in prolonging the duration of luminescence.  相似文献

Binary (ZnO)0.5(P2O5)0.5 glasses doped with Eu2O3 and nanoparticles of Gd2O3:Eu were prepared by conventional melt-quench method and their luminescence properties were compared. Undoped (ZnO)0.5(P2O5)0.5 glass is characterized by a luminescent defect centre (similar to L-centre present in Na2O-SiO2 glasses) with emission around 324 nm and having an excited state lifetime of 18 ns. Such defect centres can transfer the energy to Eu3+ ions leading to improved Eu3+ luminescence from such glasses. Based on the decay curves corresponding to the 5D0 level of Eu3+ ions in both Gd2O3:Eu nanoparticles incorporated as well as Eu2O3 incorporated glasses, a significant clustering of Eu3+ ions taking place with the latter sample is confirmed. From the lifetime studies of the excited state of L-centre emission from (ZnO)0.5(P2O5)0.5 glass doped with Gd2O3:Eu nanoparticles, it is established that there exists weak energy transfer from L-centres to Eu3+ ions. Poor energy transfer from the defect centres to Eu3+ ions in Gd2O3:Eu nanoparticles doped (ZnO)0.5(P2O5)0.5 glass has been attributed to effective shielding of Eu3+ ions from the luminescence centre by Gd-O-P type of linkages, leading to an increased distance between luminescent centre and Eu3+ ions.  相似文献

Zinc phosphate glasses doped with Gd2O3:Eu nanoparticles and Eu2O3 were prepared by conventional melt-quench method and characterized for their luminescence properties. Binary ZnO-P2O5 glass is characterized by an intrinsic defect centre emission around 324 nm. Strong energy transfer from these defect centres to Eu3+ ions has been observed when Eu2O3 is incorporated in ZnO-P2O5 glasses. Lack of energy transfer from these defect centres to Eu3+ in Gd2O3:Eu nanoparticles doped ZnO-P2O5 glass has been attributed to effective shielding of Eu3+ ions from the luminescence centre by Gd-O-P type of linkages, leading to an increased distance between the luminescent centre and Eu3+ ions. Both doped and undoped glasses have the same glass transition temperature, suggesting that the phosphate network is not significantly affected by the Gd2O3:Eu nanoparticles or Eu2O3 incorporation.  相似文献

The excitation spectra of M (M=Si4+, Ti4+) and Eu3+ co-doped BaZr(BO3)2, BaZrO3:Eu and La2Zr2O7:Eu in the vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) regions of 110-300 nm are investigated and the host-lattice absorption are characterized. The result indicated that BaZr(BO3)2:Eu3+ phosphor has a strong absorption under the VUV excitation, and in the host-lattice excitation, the strong band at 130-160 nm could be due to the BO3 atomic groups; the band at 160-180 nm is related to the excitation of Ba-O; 180-200 nm corresponds to the charge transfer (CT) transition of Zr-O. The band at 200-235 nm due to the CT band of Eu3+-O2− and a bond valence study explained the observed weak CT band of Eu3+-O2− in the excitation spectra of BaZr(BO3)2:Eu3+. The emission results show that Si4+ can sensitize luminescence in the host of BaZr(BO3)2:Eu but Ti4+ has no improvement effect on luminescence.  相似文献

Low temperature quenching and high efficiency CaSc2O4:Ce3+ (CSO:Ce3+) phosphors co-doped with Tm3+, La3+ and Tb3+ ions were prepared by a solid state method and the phase-forming, morphology, luminescence and application properties of these phosphors were investigated. The results showed that co-doping of Tm3+, La3+ and Tb3+ ions can improve the luminescence properties and decrease temperature quenching of CSO:Ce3+ phosphor remarkably. High efficiency green-light-emitting diodes were fabricated with the prepared phosphors and InGaN blue-emitting (∼460 nm) chips. The good performances of the green-light-emitting LEDs made from co-doped CSO:Ce3+ phosphors confirm the luminescence enhancement and indicate that Tm3+, La3+ and Tb3+ co-doped CSO:Ce3+ phosphors are suitable candidates for the fabrication of high efficiency white LEDs.  相似文献

La2BaZnO5:Eu3+ (0.05 mol%) was prepared by a solid-state reaction at high temperature. X-ray powder diffraction analysis confirmed the formation of single phase La2BaZnO5. Luminescence properties of La2BaZnO5:Eu3+ are investigated by site-selective laser-excitation and emission spectroscopy at 18 K. Two different crystallographic sites for Eu3+ corresponding to the La3+ and Ba2+ sites are identified from the 7F05D0 excitation spectra obtained by monitoring the 5D07FJ (J=1, 2, …, 6) emissions. It is found that Eu3+ substituted for the Ba2+ ion experiences stronger crystal-field strength than Eu3+ substituted for the La3+ ion. Energy transfer between the two crystallographic Eu3+ centers is investigated by luminescence decay curves at 18 K.  相似文献

Borate Ba3InB9O18 (BIBO) has been adopted as a host material for phosphors for the first time. Lanthanide ions (Eu3+/Tb3+)-doped BIBO phosphors have been synthesized by solid-state reaction and luminescent properties investigated under ultravoilet (UV) excitation. For red phosphor BIBO:Eu, dominant emission peaking at 590 nm was attributed to 5D07F1 transition of Eu3+, which confirmed that the local site of Eu3+ occupied by In3+ ion in BIBO crystal lattice is at inversion symmetry center. Optimum Eu3+ concentration of BIBO:Eu under UV excitation with 227 nm wavelength is around 40%. The green phosphor BIBO:Tb showed bright green emission at 550 with 232 nm light excited and optimal of Tb3+ concentration measured in BIBO is about 8%. The corresponding luminescence mechanisms of Ln-doped BIBO (Ln=Eu3+/Tb3+) were analyzed. The luminescent intensity of Tb3+ can be significantly improved by co-doping of Bi3+ in the BIBO:Tb lattice. The likely reason was proposed in terms of the different interactions of the host lattice with these ions, and of these ions with each other.  相似文献

The OA-modified CaF2: Eu nanocrystals that can be well dispersed in chloroform to form a clear solution were synthesized and characterized. The nanocrystals have a roughly spherical shape with particle diameter of about 10 nm. Possible mechanism was proposed to explain the growth process. Upon the excitation at 395 nm, the room-temperature emission spectrum of the nanocrystals in chloroform presents the characteristic transitions 5D07FJ of Eu3+ ions, with 5D07F2 (610 nm) transition as the most prominent group. The luminescence decay of Eu3+ ions in CaF2 nanocrystals was also investigated and two luminescence lifetimes of 737 μs (11.2%) and 2.08 ms (88.8%) were obtained.  相似文献

Ca0.54Sr0.34−1.5xEu0.08Smx(MoO4)y (WO4)1−y red phosphors were prepared by solid-state reaction using Na+ as a charge compensator for light-emitting diodes (LED). The effects of Na+ concentration, synthesis temperature, reaction time and Eu3+ concentration were studied for the properties of luminescence and crystal structure of red phosphors. The results show that the optimum reaction condition is 6%, 900 °C, 2 h and 8%. The photoluminescence spectra show that red phosphors are effectively excited at 616 nm by 292, 395 and 465 nm. The wavelengths of 465 nm nicely match the widely applied emission wavelengths of blue LED chips.  相似文献

Complete and partial samarium reduction was achieved under strong reducing atmosphere by solid-state and combustion synthesis of Sr3.96Sm0.04Al14O25. Dependence of different fluxing agents on the formation of various strontium aluminates was examined. The samples were investigated by X-ray powder diffraction, temperature dependent luminescence decay and photoluminescence measurements. Excitation with UV radiation resulted in sharp and well resolved emission lines of samarium ions. Distinct temperature behavior for Sm2+ and Sm3+ were detected in the range of 100-500 K. Estimated emission thermal quenching values (TQ1/2) for divalent samarium were approximately 270 K while for trivalent state around 660 K. Measured luminescence decay values of Sm2+ are substantially lower than for Sm3+,≈1.7 and ≈2.7 ms, respectively. The spectral feature of Sm2+ emission spectrum indicates that dopant occupies low symmetry site in Sr4Al14O25 compound.  相似文献

Intense red phosphors, AgGd1−xEux(W1−yMoy)2O8 (x=0.0-1.0, y=0.0-1.0), have been synthesized through traditional solid-state reaction and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and photoluminescence (PL). XRD results reveal that AgGd1−xEuxW2O8 synthesized at 1000 °C has a tetragonal crystal structure, which is named as high temperature phase (HTP) AgGdW2O8. All phosphors compositions with Eu3+ show red and green emission on excitation either in the charge-transfer or Eu3+ levels. Analysis of the emission spectra with different Eu3+ concentrations reveal that the optimum dopant concentration for Eu3+ is x=0.6 in the HTP AgGd1−xEuxW2O8 (x=0.0-1.0). Studies on the AgGd0.4Eu0.6(W1−yMoy)2O8 (y=0.0-1.0) and AgGd1−xEux(W0.7Mo0.3)2O8 (x=0.0-1.0) show that the emission intensity is maximum for compositions with y=0.3 and x=0.5, respectively, and a decrease in emission intensity is observed for higher y or x values. The Mo6+ and Eu3+ co-doped AgGd(WO4)2 phosphors show higher emission intensity in comparison with the singly Eu3+-doped AgGd(WO4)2 in UV region. The intense emission of the tungstate/molybdate phosphors under 394 and 465 nm excitations, respectively, suggests that these materials are promising candidates as red-emitting phosphors for near-UV/blue GaN-based white LED for white light generation.  相似文献

A red-emitting phosphor material, Gd2Ti2O7:Eu3+, V4+, by added vanadium ions is synthesized using the sol-gel method. Phosphor characterization by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy shows that the phosphor possesses a good crystalline structure, while scanning electron microscopy reveals a uniform phosphor particle size in the range of 230-270 nm. X-ray photon electron spectrum analysis demonstrates that the V4+ ion promotes an electron dipole transition of Gd2Ti2O7:Eu3+ phosphors, causing a new red-emitting phenomenon, and CIE value shifts to x=0.63, y=0.34 (a purer red region) from x=0.57, y=0.33 (CIE of Gd2Ti2O7:Eu3+). The optimal composition of the novel red-emitting phosphor is about 26% of V4+ ions while the material is calcinated at 800  °C. The results of electroluminescent property of the material by field emission experiment by CNT-contained cathode agreed well with that of photoluminescent analysis.  相似文献

In this study, the red phosphors, Y2W1−xMoxO6:Eu3+ and Y2WO6:Eu3+,Bi3+, have been investigated for light-emitting diode (LED) applications. In Y2WO6:Eu3+, the excitation band edge shifts to longer wavelength with the incorporation of Mo6+ or Bi3+ ions. The emission spectra exhibit 5D07F1 and 5D07F2 transition of Eu3+ ion at 588, 593, and 610 nm, respectively. Moreover, the bluish-green luminescence of the WO66− at about 460 nm is observed to decrease with the incorporation of Mo6+, which results in pure red color. Thus, this study shows that the red phosphor, Y2WO6:Eu3+, incorporated with Mo6+ or Bi3+ ions is advantageous for LEDs applications.  相似文献

A red-emitting phosphor NaSrB5O9:Eu3+ was synthesized by employing a solid-state reaction (SSR) method. The structures of the phosphors were analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) and Raman studies. The band at ~282 nm in the excitation spectra indicated the charge transfer band (CTB) of B-O in the host, whereas the CTB of Eu-O was observed at ~275 nm for the NaSrB5O9:Eu3+ (Eu3+=1 at.%) phosphor, which was supported by diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS) measurements. The photoluminescence (PL) measurements exhibited a strong red emission band centered at about 616 nm (5D07F2) under an excitation wavelength of 394 nm (7F05L6). Upon host excitation at 282 nm, the pristine NaSrB5O9 exhibited a broad UV emission centered at ~362 nm. The energy transfer from host to Eu3+ ions was confirmed from luminescence spectra, excited with a 355 nm Nd:YAG laser. In addition, the asymmetric ratios indicate a higher local symmetry around the Eu3+ ion in the host. The calculated CIE (Commission International de l′Eclairage) coordinates displayed excellent color purity efficiencies (around 99.7%) compared to other luminescent materials.  相似文献

CaAl2O4:Eu2+ co-doped with varying concentrations of Er3+ was prepared by solid-state reaction method. Prepared materials with 1 mol% Eu2+ and 2-10 mol% of Er3+ were investigated for their photoluminescence properties. Phase, morphology and crystalline structure were investigated by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Broad band UV-excited luminescence was observed for CaAl2O4:Eu2+, Er3+ in the blue region (λmax=440 nm) due to transitions from 4f65d1 to the 4f7 configuration of the Eu2+ ion. The Er3+ ion co-doping generates deep traps, which results in longer decay time for phosphorescence.  相似文献

A simple combustion route was employed for the preparation of Eu3+-doped MgAl1.8Y0.2−xO4 nanocrystals using metal nitrates as precursors and urea as a fuel in a preheated furnace at 500 °C. The powders thus obtained were then fired at 1000 °C for 3 h to get better luminescent properties. The incorporation of Eu3+ activator in these nanocrystals was checked by luminescence characteristics. These nanocrystals displayed bright red color on excitation under 254 nm UV source. The main emission peak was assigned to the transition [5D07F2] at 615 nm. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) studies were carried out to understand surface morphological features and the particle size. Crystal structures of the nanocrystals were investigated by the X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique. The crystallite size of the as-prepared nanocrystals was around 29 nm, which was evaluated from the broad XRD peaks. The crystallite size increased to ∼45 nm on further heat treatment at 1000 °C.  相似文献
