We consider a nonlinear periodic problem driven by the scalar p-Laplacian, with an asymptotically (p?1)-linear nonlinearity. We permit resonance with respect to the second positive eigenvalue of the negative periodic scalar p-Laplacian and we assume nonuniform nonresonance with respect to the first positive eigenvalue. Using a combination of variational methods, with truncation techniques and Morse theory, we show that the problem has at least three nontrivial solutions.  相似文献

We consider a nonlinear periodic problem driven by the scalar p-Laplacian with a nonsmooth potential (hemivariational inequality). Using the degree theory for multivalued perturbations of (S)+-operators and the spectrum of a class of weighted eigenvalue problems for the scalar p-Laplacian, we prove the existence of at least three distinct nontrivial solutions, two of which have constant sign.  相似文献

We consider a nonlinear periodic problem driven by the scalar p-Laplacian and with a nonsmooth potential. Using the degree map for multivalued perturbations of (S)+-operators and the spectrum of a weighted eigenvalue problem for the scalar periodic p-Laplacian, we prove the existence of a strictly positive solution. We consider a nonlinear periodic problem, driven by the scalar p-Laplacian, with a parametric concave term and a Carathéodory perturbation whose potential (primitive) exhibits a p-superlinear growth near +∞, without satisfying the usual in such cases Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz condition. Using critical point theory and truncation techniques, we prove a bifurcation-type theorem describing the nonexistence, existence and multiplicity of positive solutions as the parameter varies.  相似文献

We study periodic problems driven by the scalar p-Laplacian with a multivalued right-hand side nonlinearity. We prove two existence theorems. In the first, we assume nonuniform nonresonance conditions between two successive eigenvalues of the negative p-Laplacian with periodic boundary conditions. In the second, we employ certain Landesman-Lazer type conditions. Our approach is based on degree theory.  相似文献

We consider a nonlinear periodic equation driven by the scalar p-Laplacian and with a Caratheodory asymptotically (p−1)-linear nonlinearity. Using variational methods coupled with suitable truncation techniques, we show that the problem has at least two positive solutions. For the semilinear case (p=2), using Morse theory we show that the problem has three distinct positive solutions.  相似文献

We consider a nonlinear elliptic problem driven by the p-Laplacian, with a parameter λR and a nonlinearity exhibiting a superlinear behavior both at zero and at infinity. We show that if the parameter λ is bigger than λ2=the second eigenvalue of , then the problem has at least three nontrivial solutions. Our approach combines the method of upper-lower solutions with variational techniques involving the Second Deformation Theorem. The multiplicity result that we prove extends an earlier semilinear (i.e. p=2) result due to Struwe [M. Struwe, Variational Methods, Springer-Verlag, Berlin, 1990].  相似文献

In this paper we consider the analogue of the Courant nodal domain theorem for the nonlinear eigenvalue problem for the p-Laplacian. In particular we prove that if uλn is an eigenfunction associated with the nth variational eigenvalue, λn, then uλn has at most 2n−2 nodal domains. Also, if uλn has n+k nodal domains, then there is another eigenfunction with at most nk nodal domains.  相似文献

We consider a nonlinear Neumann logistic equation driven by the p-Laplacian with a general Carathéodory superdiffusive reaction. We are looking for positive solutions of such problems. Using minimax methods from critical point theory together with suitable truncation techniques, we show that the equation exhibits a bifurcation phenomenon with respect to the parameter λ > 0. Namely, we show that there is a λ* > 0 such that for λ < λ*, the problem has no positive solution; for λ = λ*, it has at least one positive solution; and for λ > λ*, it has at least two positive solutions.  相似文献

Let T be a time scale. The existence of positive solutions for the nonlinear four-point singular boundary value eigenvalue problem with higher-order p-Laplacian dynamic equations on time scales is studied. By using the fixed-point index theory, we derive an explicit interval of λ such that for any λ in this interval, the existence of at least one positive solution to the eigenvalue problem is guaranteed, and the existence of at least two solutions for λ in an appropriate interval is also discussed.  相似文献

Let M be an n-dimensional closed manifold with metric g, dμ = e h(x) dV(x) be the weighted measure and ? μ, p be the weighted p-Laplacian. In this article, we get the lower bound estimate of the first nonzero eigenvalue for the weighted p-Laplacian when the m-dimensional Bakry-émery curvature has a positive lower bound.  相似文献

Let σ = (λ1, … , λn) be the spectrum of a nonnegative symmetric matrix A with the Perron eigenvalue λ1, a diagonal entry c and let τ = (μ1, … , μm) be the spectrum of a nonnegative symmetric matrix B with the Perron eigenvalue μ1. We show how to construct a nonnegative symmetric matrix C with the spectrum
(λ1+max{0,μ1-c},λ2,…,λn,μ2,…,μm).  相似文献

In this paper we consider two nonlinear elliptic problems driven by the p-Laplacian and having a nonsmooth potential (hemivariational inequalities). The first is an eigenvalue problem and we prove that if the parameter λ < λ2 = the second eigenvalue of the p-Laplacian, then there exists a nontrivial smooth solution. The second problem is resonant both near zero and near infinity for the principal eigenvalue of the p-Laplacian. For this problem we prove a multiplicity result. Our approach is variational based on the nonsmooth critical point theory.  相似文献

We prove the existence of multiple constant-sign and sign-changing solutions for a nonlinear elliptic eigenvalue problem under Dirichlet boundary condition involving the pp-Laplacian. More precisely, we establish the existence of a positive solution, of a negative solution, and of a nontrivial sign-changing solution when the eigenvalue parameter λλ is greater than the second eigenvalue λ2λ2 of the negative pp-Laplacian, extending results by Ambrosetti–Lupo, Ambrosetti–Mancini, and Struwe. Our approach relies on a combined use of variational and topological tools (such as, e.g., critical points, Mountain-Pass theorem, second deformation lemma, variational characterization of the first and second eigenvalue of the pp-Laplacian) and comparison arguments for nonlinear differential inequalities. In particular, the existence of extremal nontrivial constant-sign solutions plays an important role in the proof of sign-changing solutions.  相似文献

In this paper, the eigenvalue problem for a class of quasilinear elliptic equations involving critical potential and indefinite weights is investigated. We obtain the simplicity, strict monotonicity and isolation of the first eigenvalue λ1. Furthermore, because of the isolation of λ1, we prove the existence of the second eigenvalue λ2. Then, using the Trudinger-Moser inequality, we obtain the existence of a nontrivial weak solution for a class of quasilinear elliptic equations involving critical singularity and indefinite weights in the case of 0<λ<λ1 by the Mountain Pass Lemma, and in the case of λ1λ<λ2 by the Linking Argument Theorem.  相似文献

We study the perturbation theory for the eigenvalue problem of a formal matrix product A 1 s 1 ··· A p s p, where all A k are square and s k {–1, 1}. We generalize the classical perturbation results for matrices and matrix pencils to perturbation results for generalized deflating subspaces and eigenvalues of such formal matrix products. As an application we then extend the structured perturbation theory for the eigenvalue problem of Hamiltonian matrices to Hamiltonian/skew-Hamiltonian pencils.  相似文献

We consider a semilinear eigenvalue problem with a nonsmooth potential (hemivariational inequality). Using a nonsmooth analog of the local Ambrosetti–Rabinowitz condition (AR-condition), we show that the problem has a nontrivial smooth solution. In the scalar case, we show that we can relax the local AR-condition. Finally, for the resonant λ?=?λ 1 problem, using the nonsmooth version of the local linking theorem, we show that the problem has at least two nontrivial solutions. Our approach is variational, using minimax methods from the nonsmooth critical point theory.  相似文献

We study the Stekloff eigenvalue problem for the so-called pseudo p-Laplacian operator. After proving the existence of an unbounded sequence of eigenvalues, we focus on the first nontrivial eigenvalue σ2,p , providing various equivalent characterizations for it. We also prove an upper bound for σ2,p in terms of geometric quantities. The latter can be seen as the nonlinear analogue of the Brock–Weinstock inequality for the first nontrivial Stekloff eigenvalue of the (standard) Laplacian. Such an estimate is obtained by exploiting a family of sharp weighted Wulff inequalities, which are here derived and appear to be interesting in themselves.  相似文献
