A coupled thermoviscoelastic frictional contact problem is investigated. The contact is modelled by the Signorini condition for the displacement velocities and the friction by the Coulomb law. The heat generated by friction is described by a non‐linear boundary condition with at most linear growth. The weak formulation of the problem consists of a variational inequality for the elasticity part and a variational equation for the heat conduction part. In order to prove the existence of a solution to this problem we first use an approximation of the Signorini condition by the penalty method. The existence of a solution for the approximate problem is shown using the fixed‐point theorem of Schauder. This theorem is applied to the composition of the solution operator for the contact problem with given temperature field and the solution operator for the heat equation problem with known displacement field. To obtain this proof, the unique solvability of both problems is necessary. Due to this reason it is necessary to introduce the penalty method. While the penalized contact problem has a unique solution, this is not clear for the original contact problem. The solvability of the original frictional contact problem is verified by an investigation of the limit for vanishing penalty parameter. Copyright © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We study the interior and exterior contact problems for hemitropic elastic solids. We treat the cases when the friction effects, described by Tresca friction (given friction model), are taken into consideration either on some part of the boundary of the body or on the whole boundary. We equivalently reduce these problems to a boundary variational inequality with the help of the Steklov–Poincaré type operator. Based on our boundary variational inequality approach we prove existence and uniqueness theorems for weak solutions. We prove that the solutions continuously depend on the data of the original problem and on the friction coefficient. For the interior problem, necessary and sufficient conditions of solvability are established when friction is taken into consideration on the whole boundary.  相似文献

We study an evolution problem which describes the dynamic contact of an elastic-visco-plastic body with a foundation. We model the contact with normal damped response and a local friction law. A damage of the material caused by elastic deformation is taken into account, its evolution is described by an inclusion of parabolic type. We derive variational formulation for the model which is in the form of a system involving the displacement field, the stress field and the damage field. We prove the existence and uniqueness result of the weak solution. The proof is based on arguments of evolution equations with monotone operators, a classical existence and uniqueness result on parabolic inequalities and fixed point.  相似文献

We establish the existence of two opposite constant sign solutions for a general noncoercive quasilinear elliptic system with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions. In the case where the system has a variational structure, by strengthening the hypotheses, we obtain a third nontrivial solution which is sign changing in the sense that one cannot have both components of the new solution of the same constant sign. Our approach relies on a suitable method of sub-supersolutions combined with truncation and variational arguments that does not require a subcritical growth condition.  相似文献

We consider a quasistatic frictional contact problem between a piezoelectric body and a foundation. The contact is modeled with normal compliance and friction is modeled with a general version of Coulomb's law of dry friction; the process is quasistatic and the material's behavior is described by an electro-viscoelastic constitutive law with damage. We derive a variational formulation for the model which is in the form of a system involving the displacement field, the electric potential field, and the damage field. Then we provide the existence of a unique weak solution to the model. The proof is based on arguments of evolutionary variational inequalities and fixed point.  相似文献

In this paper we prove the existence and uniqueness of the weak solution for a dynamic thermoviscoelastic problem which describes frictional contact between a body and a foundation. We employ the nonlinear constitutive viscoelastic law with a long-term memory, which includes the thermal effects and considers the general nonmonotone and multivalued subdifferential boundary conditions for the contact, friction and heat flux. The model consists of the system of the hemivariational inequality of hyperbolic type for the displacement and the parabolic hemivariational inequality for the temperature. The existence of solutions is proved by using recent results from the theory of hemivariational inequalities and a fixed point argument.  相似文献

We consider the variational free boundary problem describing the contact of an elastic plate with a thin elastic obstacle. The contact domain is unknown a priori and should be determined. The problem is described by a variational inequality for a fourth-order operator. The constraint on the displacement is given on a set of dimension less than that of the solution domain. We find the boundary conditions on the set of the possible contact and their exact statement. We justify the mixed statement of the problem and analyze the limit cases corresponding to the unbounded increase of the elasticity coefficients of the contacting bodies.  相似文献

We study a mathematical model which describes the antiplane shear deformations of a cylinder in frictional contact with a rigid foundation. The process is static, the material behavior is described with a linearly elastic constitutive law and friction is modeled with a general slip dependent subdifferential boundary condition. We derive a variational formulation of the model which is in a form of a hemivariational inequality for the displacement field. Then we prove the existence of a weak solution to the model and, under additional assumptions, its uniqueness. The proofs are based on abstract results for operator inclusions in Banach spaces. Finally, we present concrete examples of friction laws for which our results are valid.  相似文献

We consider two quasistatic problems which describe the frictional contact between a deformable body and an obstacle, the so-called foundation. In the first problem the body is assumed to have a viscoelastic behavior, while in the other it is assumed to be elastic. The frictional contact is modeled by a general velocity dependent dissipation functional. We derive weak formulations for the models and prove existence and uniqueness results. The proofs are based on the theory of evolution variational inequalities and fixed-point arguments. We also prove that the solution of the viscoelastic problem converges to the solution of the corresponding elastic problem, as the viscosity tensor converges to zero. Finally, we describe a number of concrete contact and friction conditions to which our results apply.  相似文献

In this paper, the author studies the existence of the minimal nonnegative solutions of some elliptic variational inequalities in Orlicz-Sobolev spaces on bounded or unbounded domains. She gets some comparison results between different solutions as tools to pass to the limit in the problems and to show the existence of the minimal solutions of the variational inequalities on bounded domains or unbounded domains. In both cases, coercive and noncoercive operators are handled. The sufficient and necessary conditions for the existence of the minimal nonnegative solution of the noncoercive variational inequality on bounded domains are established.  相似文献

We analyze a problem which describes the frictional contact between a thermoviscoelastic body and a rigid foundation. The process is assumed to be quasistatic and the contact is modeled by a general normal damped response condition with friction law and heat exchange. Then we present a variational formulation of the problem, which is set in an abstract form as a system of evolution equations for the displacements and temperature. We establish the existence and uniqueness of the weak solution, using general results on evolution equations with monotone operators and fixed point arguments. Finally, we study the continuous dependence of the solution with respect to the initial data and contact conditions.  相似文献

We consider a class of stationary subdifferential inclusions in a reflexive Banach space. We reformulate the problem in terms of a variational inequality with multivalued term and prove an existence result using the Kakutani-Fan-Glicksberg fixed point theorem. This approach allows to consider, in a natural way, a dual variational formulation of the problem. Next, we study the link between the primal and dual formulations and provide an equivalence result. Then, we consider a new mathematical model which describes the contact of an elastic body with a foundation. We apply the abstract formalism to derive the primal and the dual variational formulations of the problem, in terms of displacement and stress, respectively. Finally, we present existence and equivalence results in the study of this contact model.  相似文献

In this paper, a class of generalized evolution variational inequalities arising in quasistatic friction contact problem for viscoelastic materials is introduced and studied. Under some suitable assumptions, we obtain an existence and uniqueness theorem of the solution for the generalized evolution variational inequalities by using Banach’s fixed point theorem. Moreover, we study two numerical approximation schemes of the problem: semidiscrete scheme and fully discrete scheme. For both schemes, we prove the existence of the solution and derive the error estimations.  相似文献

Research on variational methods for solving problems on the contact of solid deformable bodies is reviewed and trends in the development of these researches at the present time are analysed. The Signorini problem and it generalizations, numerical methods, different models of friction, investigations into the problem of the existence and uniqueness of a solution, the problem of rolling motion, the problem of describing the boundary conditions, inelastic materials and problems of contact dynamics and electro-elastic contact are considered. The analysis shows that research on the problem of the contact of deformable bodies is being conducted over a broad front in different areas and the results are being applied in different areas of modern engineering and technology.  相似文献

We consider an abstract class of variational–hemivariational inequalities which arise in the study of a large number of mathematical models of contact. The novelty consists in the structure of the inequalities which involve two history-dependent operators and two nondifferentiable functionals, a convex and a nonconvex one. For these inequalities we provide an existence and uniqueness result of the solution. The proof is based on arguments of surjectivity for pseudomonotone operators and fixed point. Then, we consider a viscoelastic problem in which the contact is frictionless and is modeled with a new boundary condition which describes both the instantaneous and the memory effects of the foundation. We prove that this problem leads to a history-dependent variational–hemivariational inequality in which the unknown is the displacement field. We apply our abstract result in order to prove the unique weak solvability of this viscoelastic contact problem.  相似文献

In this paper, some new elastohydrodynamic Reynolds‐rod models are posed to obtain the existence of solution (the lubricant pressure and the elastic rod displacement). More precisely, a sign restriction on fluid pressure for cavitation modelling and different unilateral conditions on the rod displacement associated with a rigid structure coating are formulated in terms of coupled variational inequalities. The particular hinged or clamped boundary conditions on the rod displacement require different techniques to prove the existence of solution. Besides nearly linear coupled problems, two non‐linear rod problems including curvature effects are analysed. Mainly, regularity results and L estimates for the solution of variational inequalities and fixed‐point theorems lead to the existence results for the various coupled models. We consider a mathematical model which describes the bilateral quasistatic contact of a viscoelastic body with a rigid obstacle. The contact is modelled with a modified version of Coulomb's law of dry friction and, moreover, the coefficient of friction is assumed to depend either on the total slip or on the current slip. In the first case, the problem depends upon contact history. We present the classical formulations of the problems, the variational formulations and establish the existence and uniqueness of a weak solution to each of them, when the coefficient of friction is sufficiently small. The proofs are based on classical results for elliptic variational inequalities and fixed point arguments. We also study the dependence of the solutions on the perturbations of the friction coefficient and obtain a uniform convergence result. Copyright © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this paper we present a model of dynamic frictional contact between a thermoviscoelastic body and a foundation. The thermoviscoelastic constitutive law includes a temperature effect described by the parabolic equation with the subdifferential boundary condition and a damage effect described by the parabolic inclusion with the homogeneous Neumann boundary condition. Contact is modeled with bilateral condition and is associated to a subdifferential frictional law. The variational formulation of the problem leads to a system of hyperbolic hemivariational inequality for the displacement, parabolic hemivariational inequality for the temperature and parabolic variational inequality for the damage. The existence of a unique weak solution is proved by using recent results from the theory of hemivariational inequalities, variational inequalities, and a fixed point argument.  相似文献

We study the existence theory to the quasi‐static initial‐boundary‐value problem of poroplasticity. In this article the classical quasi‐static Biot model is considered for soil consolidation coupled with a nonlinear system of differential equations. This work, for the poroplasticity model of monotone‐gradient type, presents a convergence result of the coercive approximation to the solution of the original noncoercive problem.
