OPTIMAL CONVERGENCE RATE OF THE LANDAU EQUATION WITH FRICTIONAL FORCE

The Cauchy problem of the Landau equation with frictional force is investigated.Based on Fourier analysis and nonlinear energy estimates,the optimal convergence rate to the steady state is obtained under some conditions on initial data.     

OPTIMAL CONVERGENCE RATES OF LANDAU EQUATION WITH EXTERNAL FORCING IN THE WHOLE SPACE

In this paper, we combine the method of constructing the compensating function introduced by Kawashima and the standard energy method for the study on the Landau equation with external forcing. Both the global existence of solutions near the time asymptotic states which are local Maxwellians and the optimal convergence rates are obtained. The method used here has its own advantage for this kind of studies because it does not involve the spectrum analysis of the corresponding linearized operator.     

THE SMOOTHING EFFECT IN SHARP GEVREY SPACE FOR THE SPATIALLY HOMOGENEOUS NON-CUTOFF BOLTZMANN EQUATIONS WITH A HARD POTENTIAL

In this article,we study the smoothing effect of the Cauchy problem for the spatially homogeneous non-cutoff Boltzmann equation for hard potentials.It has long been suspected that the non-cutoff Boltzmann equation enjoys similar regularity properties as to whose of the fractional heat equation.We prove that any solution with mild regularity will become smooth in Gevrey class at positive time,with a sharp Gevrey index,depending on the angular singularity.Our proof relies on the elementary L^2...

This article investigates Gevrey class regularity for the global attractor of an incompressible non-Newtonian fluid in a two-dimensional domain with a periodic boundary condition.This Gevrey class regularity reveals that the solutions lying in the global attractor are analytic in time with values in a Gevrey class of analytic functions in space.
