Under ammonia chemical ionization (CI) conditions triarylpropenones undergo hydrogen radical-induced olefinic bond reduction on metal surfaces, resulting in [M + 2H + NH4]+ ions corresponding to the ammonium adduct of the saturated ketone. The decomposition of the adduct ions, [MNH4]+ and [M + 2H + NH4]+, was studied by collision-induced dissociation mass-analysed ion kinetic energy (CID-MIKE) spectroscopy in a reverse geometry instrument. From the CID-MIKE spectra of the [MNH4]+, [M + 2H + NH4]+, [MND4]+ and [M + 2D + ND4]+ ions it is clear that the fragmentation of the adduct ions involves loss of NH3 followed by various cyclization reactions resulting in stable condensed ring systems. Elimination of ArH and ArCHO subsequent to the loss of NH3 and formation of aroyl ion are characteristic decomposition pathways of the [MNH4]+ ions, whereas elimination of ArCH3 and formation of [ArCH2]+ are characteristic of the [M + 2H + NH4]+ ions of these propenones.  相似文献

The ammonia chemical ionization (CI/[NH4+]) mass spectra of a series of diastereomeric methyl and benzyl ethers derived from 3-hydroxy steroids (unsaturated in position 5 and saturated) have been studied. The adduct ions [M+NH4]+ and [MH]+ and the substitution product ions [M+NH4? ROH]+ (thereafter called [MsH]+) are characterized by an inversion in their relative stabilites in relation to their initial configuration. [M+NH4]α+ and [MH]α+ formed from the α-Δ5-steroid isomers are stabilized by the presence of a hydrogen bond which is not possible for the β-isomers. This stereochemical effect has also been observed in the mass analysed ion kinetic energy (MIKE) spectra of [M+NH4]+ and [MH]+. The MIKE spectra of [MsH]+ indicate that those issued from the β-isomers are more stable than the one originating from the α-isomers. This behavior is also observed in the first field free region (HV scan spectra) for [MH]+, [MsH]+ and [M+NH4]+ which are precursors of the ethylenic carbocations (base peak in the conventional CI/[NH4]+ spectra). Mechanisms, such as SN1 and SNi, have been ruled out for the formation of [MsH]+, but instead the data support an SN2 mechanism during the ion-molecule reaction between [M+NH4]+ and NH3.  相似文献

Under Ammonia chemical Ionization conditions the source decompositions of [M + NH4]+ ions formed from epimeric tertiary steroid alchols 14 OHβ, 17OHα or 17 OHβ substituted at position 17 have been studied. They give rise to formation of [M + NH4? H2O]+ dentoed as [MHsH]+, [MsH? H2O]+, [MsH? NH3]+ and [MsH? NH3? H2O]+ ions. Stereochemical effects are observed in the ratios [MsH? H2O]+/[MsH? NH3]+. These effects are significant among metastable ions. In particular, only the [MsH]+ ions produced from trans-diol isomers lose a water molecule. The favoured loss of water can be accounted for by an SN2 mechanism in which the insertion of NH3 gives [MsH]+ with Walden inversion occurring during the ion-molecule reaction between [M + NH4]+ + NH3. The SN1 and SNi pathways have been rejected.  相似文献

The nucleophilic substitution reaction under NH3 chemical ionization (CI) conditions in cis- and trans-1,2-dihydroxybenzosuberans (1–4) has been studied with the help of ND3 CI and metastable data. The results indicate that in the parent diols 1 (cis) and 2 (trans), the substitution ion [MsH]+, is produced mainly by the loss of H2O from the [MNH4]+ ion (SNi reaction) while in their 7-methoxy derivatives 3 and 4, the ion-molecule reaction between [M? OH]+ and NH3 seems to be the major pathway for the formation of [MsH]+. The substitution ion from 1 and 2 and the [MH]+ ion from trans-1-amino-2-hydroxybenzosuberan give similar collision-induced dissociation mass-analysed ion kinetic energy spectra. Interestingly, their diacetates do not undergo the substitution reaction.  相似文献

From a collisional activation spectral study it has been found that certain triterpene alcohols with an ursane or oleanane skeleton undergo oxidation to the corresponding ketones under chemical ionization (NH3) conditions giving rise to abundant [M + NH4 ? 2]+ ions. Mass-analysed ion kinetic energy and B2/E scan results indicate that both [M + NH4]+ and [M + N2H7 ? 2]+ ions contribute to the formation of the [M + NH4 ? 2]+ ion.  相似文献

Analyses of a series of nitroaromatic compounds using fast atom bombardment (FAB) mass spectrometry are discussed. An interesting ion-molecule reaction leading to [M + O ? H]? ions is observed in the negative ion FAB spectra. Evidence from linked-scan and collision-induced dissociation spectra proved that [M + O ? H]? ions are produced by the following reaction: M + NO2? → [M + NO2]? → [M + O ? H]?. These experiments also showed that M ions are produced in part by the exchange of an electron between M and NO2? species. All samples showed M, [M ? H]? or both ions in their negative ion FAB spectra. Not all analytes studied showed either [M + H]+ and/or M+˙ in the positive ion FAB spectra. No M+˙ ions were observed for ions having ionization energies above ~9 eV.  相似文献

The positive electron impact (EI) and isobutane chemical ionization (CI) mass spectra of six nitramine nitrates were studied with the aid of some accurate mass measurements. In the EI spectra, β fission relative to both the nitramine and nitrate ester is important. In the CI spectra a major ion occurs at [MH – 45]+ and was found to be mainly due to [M + 2H ? NO2]+. All of the compounds except N-(2 hydroxyethyl)-N-(2′,4′,6′-trinitrophenyl)nitramine nitrate gave an [MH]+ ion. The [MH – 45]+ ion in the isobutane CI mass spectra of tetryl is also due to [M + 2H ? NO2]+.  相似文献

The collision-induced dissociation mass-analysed ion kinetic energy (CID MIKE) spectra (electron impact and chemical ionization) of five α-diazo-ω-arylsulphonylaminoalkan-2-ones and corresponding N-arylsulphonylazetidin-3-ones and N-arylsulphonylpyrrolidin-3-ones were studied. The [M ? N2]+˙ and [MH ? N2]+ ions of two types of the diazo ketones provide CID MIKE spectra similar to those of the corresponding M+˙ and MH+ of the heterocyclic compounds, i.e. a cyclization analogous to that in solution takes place. For the other three types of diazo compounds the Wolff rearrangement prevails in both the gas and liquid phases. The effect of the substituents on the cyclization process was studied. The data obtained permit the results of acid-catalysed cyclization of similar diazo ketones to be predicted on the basis of their CID MIKE spectra. Chemical ionization provides a closer similarity with reactions in solution than electron impact ionization, which can be rationalized by the protonation of the diazo ketone molecule being the driving force of the cyclization reaction either in solution or in the ion source of a mass spectrometer.  相似文献

By combining results from a variety of mass spectrometric techniques (metastable ion, collisional activation, collision-induced dissociative ionization, neutralization-reionization spectrometry, 2H, 13C and 18O isotopic labelling and appearance energy measurements) and high-level ab initio molecular orbital calculations, the potential energy surface of the [CH5NO]+ ˙ system has been explored. The calculations show that at least nine stable isomers exist. These include the conventional species [CH3ONH2]+ ˙ and [HO? CH2? NH2]+ ˙, the distonic ions [O? CH2? NH3]+ ˙, [O? NH2? CH3]+ ˙, [CH2? O(H)? NH2]+ ˙, [HO? NH2? CH2]+ ˙, and the ion-dipole complex CH2?NH2+ …? OH˙. Surprisingly the distonic ion [CH2? O? NH3]+ ˙ was found not to be a stable species but to dissociate spontaneously to CH2?O + NH3+ ˙. The most stable isomer is the hydrogen-bridged radical cation [H? C?O …? H …? NH3]+ ˙ which is best viewed as an immonium cation interacting with the formyl dipole. The related species [CH2?O …? H …? NH2]+ ˙, in which an ammonium radical cation interacts with the formaldehyde dipole is also a very stable ion. It is generated by loss of CO from ionized methyl carbamate, H2N? C(?O)? OCH3 and the proposed mechanism involves a 1,4-H shift followed by intramolecular ‘dictation’ and CO extrusion. The [CH2?O …? H …? NH2]+ ˙ product ions fragment exothermically, but via a barrier, to NH4+ ˙ HCO…? and to H3N? C(H)?O+ ˙ H˙. Metastable ions [CH3ONH2]+…? dissociate, via a large barrier, to CH2?O + NH3+ + and to [CH2NH2]+ + OH˙ but not to CH2?O+ ˙ + NH3. The former reaction proceeds via a 1,3-H shift after which dissociation takes place immediately. Loss of OH˙ proceeds formally via a 1,2-CH3 shift to produce excited [O? NH2? CH3]+ ˙, which rearranges to excited [HO? NH2? CH2]+ ˙ via a 1,3-H shift after which dissociation follows.  相似文献

The distinction between 17-epimeric 3,17-dioxygenated hydroxyandrostanes has been made by comparison of both their methane or ammonia positive and OH? negative chemical ionization (CI) mass spectra. In the methane or ammonia positive CI, the 17α-configuration in the eight stereoisomeric 5ξ-androstane-3ξ,17ξ-diols can be determined by the relative abundances of the ion [MH? 2 H2O]+. In the ammonia CI spectra, the ion [M+NH4? H2O]+ possesses only a low abundance, but a comparison of the relative rates of the loss of water v. the loss of ammonia from [M.NH4]+ in the second field-free region allows a clear distinction to be made between the 17α- and 17β-series. In the OH? negative CI mass spectra, the 5ξ-androstane-3-one-17ξ-ols produce an intense ion [M? H? H2O]? in the 17α-series only.  相似文献

Under positive ion chemical ionization conditions with ammonla at relatively low pressure, aromatic nitro compounds do not form [M + H]+ ions but often form ionic clusters [M + NH4]+ and [M + N2H7]+. Nitrobenzene forms a cluster [2M + NH4]+ and aniline, formed by nucleophilic substitution, leads to a cluster [anilinium ion + nitrobenzene]+. The dinitrobenzenes form [M + NH4]+ clusters and show evidence of nitroaniline formation and clustering. 1,3,5-Trinitrobenzene gives little indication of clustering or of substitution. The six isomers of trinitrotoluene appear to be stabilized by the methyl group and form clusters up to [M + N3H10]+. Nucleophilic substitution leads to dinitrotoluidines, which also form clusters with ammonium ions.  相似文献

A study of the electron impact and chemical ionization (H2, CH4, and iso-C4H10) mass spectra of stereoisomeric benzoin oximes and phenylhydrazones indicates that while the former can be distinguished only by their chemical ionization mass spectra the latter are readily distinguishable by both their electron impact and chemical ionization mass spectra. The electron impact mass spectra of the isomeric oximes are practically identical; however, the chemical ionization spectra show that the E isomer forms more stable [MH]+ and [MH? H2O]+ ions than the Z isomer for which both the [MH]+ and [MH? H2O]+ ions are relatively unstable. In electron impact the Z-phenylhydrazone shows a lower [M]+˙ ion abundance and more facile loss of H2O than does the E isomer. This more facile H2O loss also is observed for the [MH]+ ion of the Z isomer under chemical ionization conditions.  相似文献

The O?˙ chemical ionization mass spectrri of the C8H10 alkylbenzenes, o-, m-. andp -xylene and ethylbenzene, show formation of [M ? H + O]?, [M ? H]?, [M ? H2]?˙ and, for the xylenes, [M ? CH3 + O]? as primary reaction products; the relative importance of these products depends on the isomer. However, [OH]? is a primary product from reaction of O?˙ with both the C8H10 isomers and hydrogen-containing impurities; [OH]? reacts further with the alkylbenzenes to produce [M ? H]? with the result that the chemical ionization mass spectra depend on experimental conditions such as sample size and the presence of impurities. The collision-induced charge inversion mass spectra of the [M ? H + O]? and [M ? H]? products allow only distinction of ethylbenzene from the xylenes. However, the collision-induced charge inversion mass spectra of the [M ? H2]?˙ ions show differences which allow identification of each isomer.  相似文献

The mechanism of water elimination from metastable molecular, [M ? CH3˙]+ and [M ? ring D]+˙ ions of epimeric 3-hydroxy steroids of the 5α-series has been elucidated. Deuterium labelling, the measurement of the translational energy released during the loss of water, and collision-induced decomposition mass-analysed kinetic energy spectrometry were the techniques used. It was found that the mechanisms of water loss from metastable M+˙ and [M ? ring D]+˙ ions is different from that from [M ? CH3˙]+ ions.  相似文献

Both alkenes and cyloalkenes react with [CH3NH2]+˙. The possibilities and limitations of CI(CH3NH2) for the identification of structural isomers and for the determination of double bond positions are discussed. The quasi-molecular ions [M+CH3NH2]+˙ are shown to fragment in a manner observed for amines under MIKE conditions rather than at 70 eVelectron impact, which suggests that one is dealing with long-lived low-energy species.  相似文献

The mass spectra of 30 sulfinamide derivatives (RSONHR', R' alkyl or p-XC6H4) are reported. Most of the spectra had peaks attributable to thermal decomposition products. For some compounds these were identified by pyrolysis under similar conditions to be: RSO2NHR', RSO2SR, RSSR and NH2R' (in all kinds of sulfinyl amides); RSNHR' (in the case of arylsulfinyl arylamides); RSO2C6H4NH2, RSOC6H4NH2 and RSC6H4NH2 (in the case of arylsulfinyl arylamides of the type of X = H) The mass spectra of the three thermally stable compounds showed that there are several kinds of common fragment ions. The mass spectra of the thermally labile compounds had two groups of ions; (i) characteristic fragment ions of the intact molecules and (ii) the molecular ions of the thermal decomposition products. It was concluded that the sulfinamides give the following ions after electron impact: [M]+, [M ? R]+, [M ? R + H]+, [M ? SO]+, [RS]+, [NHR']+, [NHR' + H]+, [RSO]+, [RSO + H]+, [R]+, [R + H]+, [R']+ and [M ? OH]+, and that the thermal decomposition products give the following ions: [RSO2SR]+, [RSSR]+, [M ? O]+, [M + O]+ and [RSOC6H4NH2]+.  相似文献

Two monometayl- and four dimethyl-triazolocoumarin isomers were characterized by their electron impact mass spectra and by low-energy collision experiments performed on molecular ions M+˙ and other fragment ions with an ion-trap mass spectrometer. High-energy collision-activated dissociation measurements were performed on the protonated [M + H]+ and deprotonated [M ? H]? molecular ion obtained by fast atom bombardment and M+˙ species produced by electron impact ionization on a double-focusing, reverse-geometry instrument. The data obtained allowed unequivocal structural identification of all the compounds investigated.  相似文献

The losses of methyl and ethyl through the intermediacy of the [2-butanone]+˙ ion are shown to be the dominant metastable decomposition of 14 of 19 [C4H8O]+˙ ions examined. The ions that decompose via the [2-butanone]+˙ structure include ionized aldehydes, unsaturated and cyclic alcohols and enolic ions. [Cyclic ether]+˙ [cyclopropylmethanol]+˙ and [2-methyl-1-propen-1-ol]+˙ ions do not decompose through ionized 2-butanone. The rearrangements of various [C4H8O]+˙ ions the the 2-butanone ion were investigated by means of deuterium labeling. Those pathways involve up to eight steps. Ions with the oxygen on the end carbon rearrange to a common structure or mixture of structures. Those ions which ultimately rearrange to the [2-butanone]+˙ ion then undergo oxygen shifts from the terminal to the second and third carbons at about equal rates. However, this oxygen shift does not precede the losses of water and ethylene. Losses of water and ethylene were unimportant for ions with the oxygen initially on the second carbon. Ionized n-butanal and cyclobutanol, but not other [C4H8O]+˙ ions, undergo reversible hydrogen exchange between the oxygen and the terminal carbon. Rearrangement of ionized n-butanal to the [cyclobutanol]+˙ ion is postulated.  相似文献

By combining results from a variety of mass spectrometric techniques (metastatle ion, collisional activation, collision-induced dissociative ionization, neutralization–reionization spectrometry and appearance energy measurements) and the classical method of isotopic labelling, a unified mechanism is proposed for the complex unimolecular chemistry of ionized 1,2-propanediol. The key intermediates involved are the stable hydrogen-bridged radical cations [CH2?C(H)? H…?O…?O(H)CH3]+˙, which were generated independently from [4-methoxy, 1-butanol]+˙ (loss of C2H4) and [1-methoxyglycerol]+˙ (loss of CH2O), [CH3? C?O…?H…?O(H)CH3]+˙ and the related ion-dipole complex [CH2?C(OH)CH3/H2O]+˙. The latter species serves as the precursor for the loss of CH3˙ and in this reaction the same non-ergodic behaviour is observed as in the loss of CH3˙ from the ionized enol of acetone.  相似文献

A study of the electron ionization mass spectra of certain azadispiro(5.1.5.2)pentadec-9-ene-7,15-diones and azadispiro(4.1.4.2)tridec-8-ene-6,13-diones and their derivatives has revealed that these molecules undergo fragmentation primarily by two routes, viz. loss of CO and elimination of the substituent on the pyrrolidine nitrogen. Under positive ionization conditions loss of CO is the predominant process in the diones as it releases the ring strain, while in the 6- or 7-ols loss of the substituent on nitrogen is the favoured pathway. The further decomposition pathways of these primary fragments [M ? CO]+˙ and [M ? OR3]+ have been delineated with the help of high-resolution mass measurements, D2O exchange and metastable spectra, These compounds give very simple negative ion spectra showing only [M ? OR3]? and [NCO]? ions except the N-hydroxy compounds which show [M ? H]? ions as well.  相似文献
