We propose a hyperbolic generalisation of the well-known reaction diffusion equation and study the structure of its ω-limit sets. Under a dissipativity condition on the nonlinearity, we show quasi-convergence of the flow, saying that the ω-limit set of any orbit is non-empty, compact, connected, and contained in the set of equilibrium solutions.  相似文献

The bipolaron are two electrons coupled to the elastic deformations of an ionic crystal. We study this system in the Fr?hlich approximation. If the Coulomb repulsion dominates, the lowest energy states are two well separated polarons. Otherwise the electrons form a bound pair. We prove the validity of the Pekar–Tomasevich energy functional in the strong coupling limit, yielding estimates on the coupling parameters for which the binding energy is strictly positive. Under the condition of a strictly positive binding energy we prove the existence of a ground state at fixed total momentum P, provided P is not too large. The existence of nonplanar travelling wave solutions to a reaction-diffusionequation in an infinite channel is studied numerically. A boundary-valueproblem is derived via the introduction of a moving coordinatesystem. It is approximated on a finite domain through the introductionof artificial boundaries and the imposition of asymptotic boundaryconditions. We prove existence and uniqueness of the solution Xεt of the SDE, Xεt = εBt + ∫t0uq −1 ε(s, Xεt) ds, where Xεt is a one-dimensional process and uε(t, x) the density of Xεt (ε > 0, q > 1). We show that the closure of (Xεt; 0 ≤ t ≤ 1) with respect to Hölder norm, when ε goes to 0, is a.s. equal to an explicit family of continuous functions. We obtain similar results, considering SDE′s where the drift coefficient is equal to ± sgn(x) u(t, x).  相似文献

We study a nonlinear wave equation on the two-dimensional sphere with a blowing-up nonlinearity. The existence and uniqueness of a local regular solution are established. T. Global in time solutions of the equations Ou = H(u, u') on Minkowski space-time are considered. Results available so far involve complicated decay and energy estimates and also careful choice of Banach spaces and associated ordinary differential inequalities. This work tries to simplify some of the existing arguments and to develop a new technique for other nonlinear evolution equations. The method is motivated by the work of Christodoulou and Baez, Segal, and Zhou, on nonlinear wave equations. The key idea is to use the Penrose conformal compactification that transforms the equations from Minkowski space to the Einstein universe in order to change the global existence question to the local one.  相似文献

We introduce a systematic procedure for reducing nonlinear wave equations to characteristic problems of Fuchsian type. This reduction is combined with an existence theorem to produce solutions blowing up on a prescribed hypersurface. This first part develops the procedure on the example □u = exp(u); we find necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a solution of the form ln(2/?2) + v, where {? = 0} is the blow-up surface, and v is analytic. This gives a natural way of continuing solutions after blow-up.  相似文献

该文将机械化数学方法应用于偏微分方程领域,建立了构造一类非线性发展方程孤立波解的一种统一算法,并在计算机数学系统上加以实现,推导出了一批非线性发展方程的精确孤立波解.算法的基本原理是利用非线性发展方程孤立波解的局部性特点,将孤立波表示为双曲正切函数的多项式.从而将非线性发展方程(组)的求解问题转化为非线性代数方程组的求解问题.利用吴文俊消元法在计算机代数系统上求解非线性代数方程组,最终获得非线性发展方程(组)的准确孤立波解.  相似文献
