Bivariate Fréchet (BF) copulas characterize dependence as a mixture of three simple structures: comonotonicity, independence and countermonotonicity. They are easily interpretable but have limitations when used as approximations to general dependence structures. To improve the approximation property of the BF copulas and keep the advantage of easy interpretation, we develop a new copula approximation scheme by using BF copulas locally and patching the local pieces together. Error bounds and a probabilistic interpretation of this approximation scheme are developed. The new approximation scheme is compared with several existing copula approximations, including shuffle of min, checkmin, checkerboard and Bernstein approximations and exhibits better performance, especially in characterizing the local dependence. The utility of the new approximation scheme in insurance and finance is illustrated in the computation of the rainbow option prices and stop-loss premiums.  相似文献

A Fréchet space E is quasi‐reflexive if, either dim(E″/E) < ∞, or E″[β(E″,E′)]/E is isomorphic to ω. A Fréchet space E is totally quasi‐reflexive if every separated quotient is quasi‐reflexive. In this paper we show, using Schauder bases, that E is totally quasi‐reflexive if and only if it is isomorphic to a closed subspace of a countable product of quasi‐reflexive Banach spaces. We consider a damped sine-Gordon equation with a variable diffusion coefficient. The goal is to derive necessary conditions for the optimal set of parameters minimizing the objective function J. First, we show that the solution map is continuous under a weak assumption on the topology of the admissible set P. Then the solution map is shown to be weakly Gâteux differentiable on P, implying the Gâteux differentiability of the objective function. Finally we show the Fréchet differentiability of J. The optimal set of parameters is shown to satisfy a bang–bang control law.  相似文献

An operator TL(E, F) factors over G if T = RS for some SL(E, G) and RL(G, F); the set of such operators is denoted by LG(E, F). A triple (E, G, F) satisfies bounded factorization property (shortly, (E, G, F) ∈ ???) if LG(E, F) ? LB(E, F), where LB(E, F) is the set of all bounded linear operators from E to F. The relationship (E, G, F) ∈ ??? is characterized in the spirit of Vogt's characterisation of the relationship L(E, F) = LB(E, F) [23]. For triples of K?othe spaces the property ??? is characterized in terms of their K?othe matrices. As an application we prove that in certain cases the relations L(E, G1) = LB(E, G1) and L(G2, F) = LB(G2, F) imply (E, G, F) ∈ ??? where G is a tensor product of G1 and G2.  相似文献

In this paper, the Fréchet spaces of continuous functions defined on a bounded or an unbounded interval, with values in the space of all real sequences, are considered. For those Fréchet spaces new regular measures of noncompactness are constructed and several properties of these measures are established. The results obtained are further applied to infinite systems of functional-integral equations.  相似文献

A good robust functional should, if possible, be efficient at the model, smooth, and have a high breakdown point. M-estimators can be made efficient and Fréchet differentiable by choosing appropriate ψ-functions but they have a breakdown point of at most 1/(p + 1) in p dimensions. On the other hand, the local smoothness of known high breakdown functionals has not been investigated. It is known that Rousseeuw's minimum volume ellipsoid estimator is not differentiable and that S-estimators based on smooth functions force a trade-off between efficiency and breakdown point. However, by using a two-step M-estimator based on the minimum volume ellipsoid we show that it is possible to obtain a highly efficient, Fréchet differentiable estimator whilst still retaining the breakdown point. This result is extended to smooth S-estimators.  相似文献

It is shown that for an algebraic subvariety X of ℝd every Fréchet valued real analytic function on X can be extended to a real analytic function on ℝd if and only if X is of type (PL), i.e. all of its singularities are of a certain type. Necessity of this condition is shown for any real analytic variety. (© 2008 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

The Fréchet distance between two curves in the plane is the minimum length of a leash that allows a dog and its owner to walk along their respective curves, from one end to the other, without backtracking. We propose a natural extension of Fréchet distance to more general metric spaces, which requires the leash itself to move continuously over time. For example, for curves in the punctured plane, the leash cannot pass through or jump over the obstacles (“trees”). We describe a polynomial-time algorithm to compute the homotopic Fréchet distance between two given polygonal curves in the plane minus a given set of polygonal obstacles.  相似文献

Classical inverse function theorems of Nash-Moser type are proved for Fréchet spaces that admit smoothing operators as introduced by Nash. In this note an inverse function theorem is proved for Fréchet spaces which only have to satisfy the condition (DN) of Vogt and the smoothing property (SΩ)t; for instance, any Fréchet-Hilbert space which is an (Ω)-space in standard form has property (SΩ)t. The main result of this paper generalizes a theorem of Lojasiewicz and Zehnder. It can be applied to the space C(K) if the compact K ? ?N is the closure of its interior and subanalytic; different from classical results the boundary of K may have singularities like cusps. The growth assumptions on the mappings are formulated in terms of the weighted multiseminorms [ ]m,k introduced in this paper; nonlinear smooth partial differential operators on C(K) and their derivatives satisfy these formal assumptions.  相似文献

A Boutet de Monvel type calculus is developed for boundary value problems on (possibly) noncompact manifolds. It is based on a class of weighted symbols and Sobolev spaces. If the underlying manifold is compact, one recovers the standard calculus. The following is proven:
  • 1 The algebra G of Green operators of order and type zero is a spectrally invariant Fréchet subalgebra of L(H), H a suitable Hilbert space, i. e.,
  • 2 Focusing on the elements of order and type zero is no restriction since there are order reducing operators within the calculus.
  • 3 There is a necessary and sufficient criterion for the Fredholm property of boundary value problems, based on the invertibility of symbols modulo lower order symbols, and
  • 4 There is a holomorphic functional calculus for the elements of G in several complex variables.

It is known that the bidual of a quasinormable Fréchet space E with local Banach spaces $(E_n)_{n\in {\mathbb N}}$ is topologically isomorphic to the inverse limit of $\big (E_n^{\prime \prime }\big )_{n\in {\mathbb N}}$. With the aid of the Arens product and by homological means, we prove that the previous result is equally valid for quasinormable Fréchet m‐convex algebras. This allows showing that the bidual of a σ‐C*‐algebra equipped with the Arens product is a σ‐C*‐algebra and presenting a new direct proof of a result on acyclic spectra due to Palamodov.  相似文献

Frames for Fréchet spaces XF with respect to Fréchet sequence spaces ΘF are studied, and conditions implying series expansions in XF and are determined. If is a Θ0-frame for X0 and ΘF (resp. XF) is given, we construct a sequence {Xs}sN0, XsXs−1, sN, (resp. {Θs}sN0, ΘsΘs−1, sN), so that is a pre-F-frame or F-frame for XF with respect to ΘF under different assumptions given on X0, Θ0 and ΘF (resp. XF).  相似文献

A topological space X is strongly web‐compact if X admits a family {Aα: α ∈ ??} of relatively countably compact sets covering X and such that Aα ? Aβ for αβ. The main result of this paper states the following: Theorem A Let X and Y be topological groups and f a homomorphism between X and Y with closed graph. If X is Fréchet‐Urysohn and Baire and Y is strongly web‐compact, then f is continuous. This extends a result of Valdivia. We provide an example showing that the property of being strongly web‐compact is not productive. This applies to show that there are quasi‐Suslin spaces X whose product X × X is not quasi‐Suslin (© 2010 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

Bierstedt and Bonet proved in 1988 that if a metrizable locally convex space E satisfies the Heinrich's density condition, then every bounded set in the strong dual (E ′, β (E ′, E)) of E is metrizable; consequently E is distinguished, i.e. (E ′, β (E ′, E)) is quasibarrelled. However there are examples of distinguished Fréchet spaces whose strong dual contains nonmetrizable bounded sets. We prove that a metrizable locally convex space E is distinguished iff every bounded set in the strong dual (E ′, β (E ′, E)) has countable tightness, i.e. for every bounded set A in (E ′, β (E ′, E)) and every x in the closure of A there exists a countable subset B of A whose closure contains x. This extends also a classical result of Grothendieck. (© 2006 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

This paper deals with a new class of perfect Frèchet spaces which can be obtained by interpolation of echelon spaces: lp,q[am,n]. We determine the reflexive, Montel, Schwartz, totally reflexive, totally Montel and nuclear spaces lp,q[am,n]. We also derive results on closed subspaces on the spaces (lp,q)(N).  相似文献

Sufficient conditions are found under which the solutions z(t;q) of a semilinear abstract Cauchy problem of the form are Fréchet differentiable with respect to the parameter q. An explicit form is provided for the sensitivity equation satisfied by the Fréchet derivative Dqz(t;q).  相似文献
