The molecule 2-methylmalonaldehyde (2-MMA) exists in the gas phase as a six-membered hydrogen-bonded ring [HO-CH=C(CH(3))-CH=O] and exhibits two large-amplitude motions, an intramolecular hydrogen transfer and a methyl torsion. The former motion is interesting because the transfer of the hydrogen atom from the hydroxyl to the carbonyl group induces a tautomerization in the ring, i.e., HO-CH=C(CH(3))-CH=O-->O=CH-C(CH(3))=CH-OH, which then triggers a 60 degrees internal rotation of the methyl group attached to the ring. The microwave spectra of 2-MMA-d0, 2-MMA-d1, and 2-MMA-d3 were studied previously by Sanders [J. Mol. Spectrosc. 86, 27 (1981)], who used a rotating-axis-system program for two-level inversion problems to fit rotational transitions involving the nondegenerate A(+) and A(-) sublevels to several times their measurement uncertainty. A global fit could not be carried out at that time because no appropriate theory was available. In particular, observed-minus-calculated residuals for the E(+) and E(-) sublevels were sometimes as large as several megahertz. In the present work, we use a tunneling-rotational Hamiltonian based on a G(12) (m) group-theoretical formalism to carry out global fits of Sanders' 2-MMA-d0 and 2-MMA-d1 [DO-CH=C(CH(3))-CH=O] spectra nearly to measurement uncertainty, obtaining root-mean-square deviations of 0.12 and 0.10 MHz, respectively. The formalism used here was originally derived to treat the methylamine spectrum, but the interaction between hydrogen transfer and CH(3) torsion in 2-MMA is similar, from the viewpoint of molecular symmetry, to the interaction between CNH(2) inversion and CH(3) torsion in methylamine. These similarities are discussed in some detail.  相似文献

The first high resolution spectroscopic data for jet cooled H2DO+ are reported, specifically via infrared laser direct absorption in the OH stretching region with a slit supersonic jet discharge source. Transitions sampling upper (0-) and lower (0+) tunneling states for both symmetric (nu1+ <-- 0+, nu1- <-- 0-, and nu1- <-- 0+) and antisymmetric (nu3+ <-- 0+ and nu3- <-- 0-) OH stretching bands are observed, where +/- refers to wave function reflection symmetry with respect to the planar umbrella mode transition state. The spectra can be well fitted to a Watson asymmetric top Hamiltonian, revealing band origins and rotational constants for benchmark comparison with high-level ab initio theory. Of particular importance are detection and assignment of the relatively weak band (nu1- <-- 0+) that crosses the inversion tunneling gap, which is optically forbidden in H3O+ or D3O+, but weakly allowed in H2DO+ by lowering of the tunneling transition state symmetry from D(3h) to C(2v). In conjunction with other H2DO+ bands, this permits determination of the tunneling splittings to within spectroscopic precision for each of the ground [40.518(10) cm(-1)], nu1 = 1 [32.666(6) cm(-1)], and nu3 = 1 [25.399(11) cm(-1)] states. A one-dimensional zero-point energy corrected potential along the tunneling coordinate is constructed from high-level ab initio CCSD(T) calculations (AVnZ, n = 3,4,5) and extrapolated to the complete basis set limit to extract tunneling splittings via a vibrationally adiabatic treatment. Perturbative scaling of the potential to match splittings for all four isotopomers permits an experimental estimate of DeltaV0 = 652.9(6) cm(-1) for the tunneling barrier, in good agreement with full six-dimensional ab initio results of Rajamaki, Miani, and Halonen (RMH) [J. Chem. Phys. 118, 10929 (2003)]. (DeltaV0 (RMH) = 650 cm(-1)). The 30%-50% decrease in tunneling splitting observed upon nu1 and nu3 vibrational excitations arises from an increase in OH stretch frequencies at the planar transition state, highlighting the transition between sp2 and sp3 hybridizations of the OHD bonds as a function of inversion bending angle.  相似文献

The rotational spectrum of the hetero dimer comprising doubly hydrogen-bonded formic acid and acetic acid has been recorded between 4 and 18 GHz using a pulsed-nozzle Fourier transform microwave spectrometer. Each rigid-molecule rotational transition is split into four as a result of two concurrently ongoing tunneling motions, one being proton transfer between the two acid molecules, and the other the torsion/rotation of the methyl group within the acetyl part. We present a full assignment of the spectrum J = 1 to J = 6 for the ground vibronic states. The transitions are fitted to within a few kilohertz of the observed frequencies using a molecule-fixed effective rotational Hamiltonian for the separate A and E vibrational species of the G(12) permutation-inversion symmetry group. Interpretation of the motion problem uses an internal-vibration and overall-rotation angular momentum coupling scheme and full sets of rotational and centrifugal distortion constants are determined. The tunneling frequencies of the proton-transfer motion are measured for the ground A and E methyl rotation states as 250.4442(12) and -136.1673(30) MHz, respectively. The slight deviation of the latter tunneling frequency from being one half of the former, as simple theory otherwise predicts, is due to different degrees of mixing in wavefunctions between the ground and excited states.  相似文献

The rotational spectra of several torsional satellites of methyl glycolate and 2-methoxyethanol have been investigated. The methyl barrier to internal rotation in methyl glycolate increases with the torsional quantum number of the C-C skeletal torsion, for which A–E line splittings have been measured up to vSK=3. The V3 value determined from the A–E line splittings in the first excited state of the methyl internal rotation is nearly the same of that previously determined in the ground state. For 2-methoxyethanol the V3 barrier as determined from the A–E line splittings in the ground state is about 20% lower than the value previously obtained from the splittings observed in the first excited state of the methyl internal rotation. The sequence of the A–E splittings in the first excited state of the O-C skeletal torsion (vSK=1) is probably reversed with respect to the ground state, while in the vSK=2 state the sequence is like that in the ground state.  相似文献

The mode specificity of proton-transfer dynamics in the ground electronic state (X (1)A(1)) of tropolone has been explored at near-rotational resolution by implementing a fully coherent variant of stimulated emission pumping within the framework of two-color resonant four-wave mixing spectroscopy. Three low-lying (E(vib) approximately 550-750 cm(-1)) vibrational features, assigned to nu(30)(a(1)), nu(32)(b(2)), and nu(31)nu(38)(a(1)), have been interrogated under ambient, bulk-gas conditions, with term energies determined for the symmetric and antisymmetric (tunneling) components of each enabling the attendant tunneling-induced bifurcations of 1.070(9), 0.61(3), and 0.07(2) cm(-1) to be extracted. The dependence of tunneling rate (or hydron migration efficiency) on vibrational motion is discussed in terms of corresponding atomic displacements and permutation-inversion symmetries for the tropolone skeleton.  相似文献

The laser induced fluorescence excitation and single vibronic excitation dispersed fluorescence spectra have been studied for supersonic jet cooled 1-methyl-2(1h)-pyridone. The methyl torsional bands and some low frequency vibrational transitions were assigned for both ground and excited states. The torsional parameters V(3)=244 cm(-1) and V(6)=15 cm(-1) for the ground state and V(3)=164 cm(-1) and V(6)=40 cm(-1) for the excited state were obtained. To get the insight into the methyl torsional barrier, ab initio calculations were performed and compared with the experimental results. Origin of potential barrier was traced by partitioning the barrier energy into changes in bond-antibond interaction, structural, and steric energies accompanying methyl rotation using natural bond orbital analysis. The role of local interactions in ascertaining the barrier potential reveals that its nature cannot be understood without considering the molecular flexing. The hyperconjugation between CHsigma(*) and ring pi(*) observed in lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) stabilizes the methyl group conformer that undergoes a 60 degrees rotation in the excited state with respect to that of the ground state, and it is the change in LUMO that plays important role in the excited state barrier formation.  相似文献

Microwave spectra of the propiolic acid-formic acid doubly hydrogen bonded complex were measured in the 1 GHz to 21 GHz range using four different Fourier transform spectrometers. Rotational spectra for seven isotopologues were obtained. For the parent isotopologue, a total of 138 a-dipole transitions and 28 b-dipole transitions were measured for which the a-dipole transitions exhibited splittings of a few MHz into pairs of lines and the b-type dipole transitions were split by ~580 MHz. The transitions assigned to this complex were fit to obtain rotational and distortion constants for both tunneling levels: A(0+) = 6005.289(8), B(0+) = 930.553(8), C(0+) = 803.9948(6) MHz, Δ(0+)(J) = 0.075(1), Δ(0+)(JK) = 0.71(1), and δ(0+)(j) = -0.010(1) kHz and A(0-) = 6005.275(8), B(0-) = 930.546(8), C(0-) = 803.9907(5) MHz, Δ(0-)(J) = 0.076(1), Δ(0-)(JK) = 0.70(2), and δ(0-)(j) = -0.008(1) kHz. Double resonance experiments were used on some transitions to verify assignments and to obtain splittings for cases when the b-dipole transitions were difficult to measure. The experimental difference in energy between the two tunneling states is 291.428(5) MHz for proton-proton exchange and 3.35(2) MHz for the deuterium-deuterium exchange. The vibration-rotation coupling constant between the two levels, F(ab), is 120.7(2) MHz for the proton-proton exchange. With one deuterium atom substituted in either of the hydrogen-bonding protons, the tunneling splittings were not observed for a-dipole transitions, supporting the assignment of the splitting to the concerted proton tunneling motion. The spectra were obtained using three Flygare-Balle type spectrometers and one chirped-pulse machine at the University of Virginia. Rotational constants and centrifugal distortion constants were obtained for HCOOH···HOOCCCH, H(13)COOH···HOOCCCH, HCOOD···HOOCCCH, HCOOH···DOOCCCH, HCOOD···DOOCCCH, DCOOH···HOOCCCH, and DCOOD···HOOCCCH. High-level ab initio calculations provided initial rotational constants for the complex, structural parameters, and some details of the proton tunneling potential energy surface. A least squares fit to the isotopic data reveals a planar structure that is slightly asymmetric in the OH distances. The formic OH···O propiolic hydrogen bond length is 1.8 ? and the propiolic OH···O formic hydrogen bond length is 1.6 ?, for the equilibrium configuration. The magnitude of the dipole moment was experimentally determined to be 1.95(3) × 10(-30) C m (0.584(8) D) for the 0(+) states and 1.92(5) × 10(-30) C m (0.576(14) D) for the 0(-) states.  相似文献

Theoretical calculations (B3LYP/6-311+G(3df,2p)//B3LYP/6-31G) of the 1,3 migration of NR(2) transforming alpha-oxoketenimines 1 to alpha-imidoylketenes 3 and vice versa indicate that this process is a pseudo-pericyclic reaction with a low activation energy (NH(2) 97 kJ mol(-1), N(CH3)(2) 62 kJ mol(-1)). The oxoketenimines were found to be more stable (by 18-35 kJ mol(-1)) which is in line with experimental observations. The hindered amine rotation in the amide and amidine moieties adjacent to the cumulenes are important in the migration of the NR(2) group, as one of the rotation transition states is close to the 1,3 migration pathway. This gives an interesting potential energy surface with a valley-ridge inflection (VRI) between the orthogonal hindered amine rotation and 1,3 migration transition states. The imidoylketene may also undergo ring closure to an azetinone 5; however, this is metastable, and under the conditions that allow the 1,3-migration, the oxoketenimine 1 will be favored. The imine NH E/Z-interconversion of the ketenimine group takes place by inversion and has a low activation barrier ( approximately 40 kJ mol(-1)). In all the amidines examined the E/Z-interconversion of the imine function was predicted to be by rotation with a high barrier (>80 kJ mol(-1)), in contrast to all other reported imine E/Z-interconversions which are by inversion.  相似文献

The following kinetic isotope effects, KIEs (k(light)/k(heavy)), have been measured for the hydrolyses of methyl alpha- and beta-xylopyranosides, respectively, in aqueous HClO(4) (mu = 1.0 M, NaClO(4)) at 80 degrees C: alpha-D, 1.128 +/- 0.004, 1.098 +/- 0.005; beta-D, 1.088 +/- 0.008, 1.042 +/- 0.004; gamma-D(2), (C5) 0.986 +/- 0.001, 0.967 +/- 0.003; leaving-group (18)O, 1.023 +/- 0.002, 1.023 +/- 0.003; ring (18)O, 0.983 +/- 0.001, 0.978 +/- 0.001; anomeric (13)C, 1.006 +/- 0.001, 1.006 +/- 0.003; and solvent, 0.434 +/- 0.017, 0.446 +/- 0.012. In conjunction with the reported (J. Am. Chem. Soc. 1986, 108, 7287-7294) KIEs for the acid-catalyzed hydrolysis of methyl alpha- and beta-glucopyranosides, it is possible to conclude that at the transition state for xylopyranoside hydrolysis resonance stabilization of the developing carbenium ion by the ring oxygen atom is coupled to exocyclic C-O bond cleavage, and the corresponding methyl glucopyranosides hydrolyze via transition states in which charge delocalization lags behind aglycon departure. In the analogous hydrolysis reactions of methyl 5-thioxylopyranosides, the measured KIEs in aqueous HClO(4) (mu = 1.0 M, NaClO(4)) at 80 degrees C for the alpha- and beta-anomers were, respectively, alpha-D, 1.142 +/- 0.010, 1.094 +/- 0.002; beta-D 1.061 +/- 0.003, 1.018(5) +/- 0.001; gamma-D(2), (C5) 0.999 +/- 0.001, 0.986 +/- 0.002; leaving-group (18)O, 1.027 +/- 0.001, 1.035 +/- 0.001; anomeric (13)C, 1.031 +/- 0.002, 1.028 +/- 0.002; solvent, 0.423 +/- 0.015, 0.380 +/- 0.014. The acid-catalyzed hydrolyses of methyl 5-thio-alpha- and beta-xylopyranosides, which occur faster than methyl alpha- and beta-xylopyranosides by factors of 13.6 and 18.5, respectively, proceed via reversibly formed O-protonated conjugate acids that undergo slow, rate-determining exocyclic C-O bond cleavage. These hydrolysis reactions do not have a nucleophilic solvent component as a feature of the thiacarbenium ion-like transition states.  相似文献

We report the first rotationally resolved spectroscopic studies on PH3+(X2A2") using zero kinetic energy photoelectron spectroscopy and coherent VUV radiation. The spectra about 8000 cm(-1) above the ground vibrational state of PH3+(X2A2") have been recorded. We observed the vibrational energy level splittings of PH3+(X2A2") due to the tunneling effect in the inversion (symmetric bending) vibration (nu2+). The energy splitting for the first inversion vibrational state (0+/0-) is 5.8 cm(-1). The inversion vibrational energy levels, rotational constants, and adiabatic ionization energies (IEs) for nu2+ = 0-16 have been determined. The bond angles between the neighboring P-H bonds and the P-H bond lengths are also obtained using the experimentally determined rotational constants. With the increasing of the inversion vibrational excitations (nu2+), the bond lengths (P-H) increase a little and the bond angles (H-P-H) decrease a lot. The inversion vibrational energy levels have also been calculated by using one dimensional potential model and the results are in good agreement with the experimental data for the first several vibrational levels. In addition to inversion vibration, we also observed firstly the other two vibrational modes: the symmetric P-H stretching vibration (nu1+) and the degenerate bending vibration (nu4+). The fundamental frequencies for nu1+ and nu4+ are 2461.6 (+/-2) and 1043.9 (+/-2) cm(-1), respectively. The first IE for PH3 was determined as 79670.9 (+/-1) cm(-1).  相似文献

Three novel GdDO3A-type bismacrocyclic complexes, conjugated to Ca (2+) chelating moieties like ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid and diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid bisamides, were synthesized as potential "smart" magnetic resonance imaging contrast agents. Their sensitivity toward Ca (2+) was studied by relaxometric titrations. A maximum relaxivity increase of 15, 6, and 32% was observed upon Ca (2+) binding for Gd 2L (1), Gd 2L (2), and Gd 2L (3), respectively (L (1) = N, N-bis{1-[{[({1-[1,4,7-tris(carboxymethyl)-1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-10-yl]eth-2-yl}amino)carbonyl]methyl}-(carboxymethyl)amino]eth-2-yl}aminoacetic acid; L (2) = N, N-bis[1-({[({alpha-[1,4,7-tris(carboxymethyl)-1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-10-yl]- p-tolylamino}carbonyl)methyl]-(carboxymethyl)}amino)eth-2-yl]aminoacetic acid; L (3) = 1,2-bis[{[({1-[1,4,7-tris(carboxymethyl)-1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-10-yl]eth-2-yl}amino)carbonyl]methyl}(carboxymethyl)amino]ethane). The apparent association constants are log K A = 3.6 +/- 0.1 for Gd 2L (1) and log K A = 3.4 +/- 0.1 for Gd 2L (3). For the interaction between Mg (2+) and Gd 2L (1), log K A = 2.7 +/- 0.1 has been determined, while no relaxivity change was detected with Gd 2L (3). Luminescence lifetime measurements on the Eu (3+) complexes in the absence of Ca (2+) gave hydration numbers of q = 0.9 (Eu 2L (1)), 0.7 (Eu 2L (2)), and 1.3 (Eu 2L (3)). The parameters influencing proton relaxivity of the Gd (3+) complexes were assessed by a combined nuclear magnetic relaxation dispersion (NMRD) and (17)O NMR study. Water exchange is relatively slow on Gd 2L (1) and Gd 2L (2) ( k ex (298) = 0.5 and 0.8 x 10 (6) s (-1)), while it is faster on Gd 2L (3) (k ex (298) = 80 x 10 (6) s (-1)); in any case, it is not sensitive to the presence of Ca (2+). The rotational correlation time, tau R (298), differs for the three complexes and reflects their rigidity. Due to the benzene linker, the Gd 2L (2) complex is remarkably rigid, with a correspondingly high relaxivity despite the low hydration number ( r 1 = 10.2 mM (-1)s (-1) at 60 MHz, 298 K). On the basis of all available experimental data from luminescence, (17)O NMR, and NMRD studies on the Eu (3+) and Gd (3+) complexes of L (1) and L (3) in the absence and in the presence of Ca (2+), we conclude that the relaxivity increase observed upon Ca (2+) addition can be mainly ascribed to the increase in the hydration number, and, to a smaller extent, to the Ca (2+)-induced rigidification of the complex.  相似文献

The reaction of methyl iodide with the Al(111) surface was studied by room-temperature scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and by first principles calculations. It was found that at 300 K methyl iodide decomposes on the Al(111) surface, forming methyl (CH(3)), methylidyne (CH), and adsorbed iodine. Methyl groups are observed to occupy atop sites by STM. The occupation of the hollow site by methylidyne was observed in STM measurements. Total energy density functional theory calculations have shown that methyl species occupy atop Al sites (E(A) = 45.3 kcal/mol), methylidyne species adsorb on fcc hollow sites (E(A) = 155.0 kcal/mol), while individual iodine atoms can bind on both on-top or hollow sites with adsorption energies between 54 and 56 kcal/mol.  相似文献

Transition metal atom M (M = Cu, Ag, Au) adsorption on CeO(2)(110), a technologically important catalytic support surface, is investigated with density-functional theory within the DFT+U formalism. A set of model configurations was generated by placing M at three surface sites, viz., on top of an O, an O bridge site, and a Ce bridge site. Prior to DFT optimization, small distortions in selected Ce-O distances were imposed to explore the energetics associated with reduction of Ce(4+) to Ce(3+) due to charge transfer to Ce during M adsorption. Charge redistribution is confirmed with spin density isosurfaces and site projected density of states. We demonstrate that Cu and Au atoms can be oxidized to Cu(2+) and Au(2+), although the adsorption energy, E(ads), of Au(2+) is less favorable and, unlike Cu(2+), it has not been experimentally observed. Oxidation of Ag always results in Ag(+). For M adsorption at an O bridge site, E(ads)(2NN) > E(ads)(3NN) > E(ads)(1NN) where NN denotes the nearest neighbor Ce(3+) site relative to M. Alternatively, for M adsorption at a Ce bridge site, E(ads)(3NN) > E(ads)(2NN) > E(ads)(1NN). The adsorption behavior of M on CeO(2) (110) is compared with M adsorption on CeO(2)(111).  相似文献

A wide range of ab initio and hybrid density functional methods and basis sets have been employed to calculate the barriers to methyl internal rotation in a range of molecules with the acetyl moiety. Comparison is made of the computed torsional frequency with the experimental torsional frequency, nu(obs), for each molecule. With the MP2/6-311+G(3df,2p) combination of method and basis set, the agreement is better than 4 cm-1 for most of the molecules, where nu(obs) or the V3 barrier is well-determined experimentally.  相似文献

Rotationally resolved pulsed-field-ionization zero-kinetic-energy photoelectron spectra of the X-->X+ transition in ethylene and ethylene-d4 have been recorded at a resolution of 0.09 cm(-1). The spectra provide new information on the large amplitude torsional motion in the cationic ground state. An effective one-dimensional torsional potential was determined from the experimental data. Both C2H4+ and C2D4+ exhibit a twisted geometry, and the lowest two levels of the torsional potential form a tunneling pair with a tunneling splitting of 83.7(5) cm(-1) in C2H4+ and of 37.1(5) cm(-1) in C2D4+. A model was developed to quantitatively analyze the rotational structure of the photoelectron spectra by generalizing the model of Buckingham, Orr, and Sichel [Philos. Trans. R. Soc. London, Ser. A 268, 147 (1970)] to treat asymmetric top molecules. The quantitative analysis of the rotational intensity distributions of allowed as well as forbidden vibrational bands enabled the identification of strong vibronic mixing between the X+ and A+ states mediated by the torsional mode nu(4) and a weaker mixing between the X+ and B+ states mediated by the symmetric CH2 out-of-plane bending mode nu7. The vibrational intensities could be accounted for quantitatively using a Herzberg-Teller-type model for vibronic intensity borrowing. The adiabatic ionization energies of C2H4 and C2D4 were determined to be 84 790.42(23) cm(-1) and 84 913.3(14) cm(-1), respectively.  相似文献

Kinetics of methyl group transfer between the Ni-Fe-S-containing acetyl-CoA synthase (ACS) and the corrinoid protein (CoFeSP) from Clostridium thermoaceticum were investigated using the stopped-flow method at 390 nm. Rates of the reaction CH(3)-Co(3+)FeSP + ACS(red) <==> Co(1+)FeSP + CH(3)-ACS(ox) in both forward and reverse directions were determined using various protein and reductant concentrations. Ti(3+)citrate, dithionite, and CO were used to reductively activate ACS (forming ACS(red)). The simplest mechanism that adequately fit the data involved formation of a [CH(3)-Co(3+)FeSP]:[ACS(red)] complex, methyl group transfer (forming [Co(1+)FeSP]:[CH(3)-ACS(ox)]), product dissociation (forming Co(1+)FeSP + CH(3)-ACS(ox)), and CO binding yielding a nonproductive enzyme state (ACS(red) + CO <==> ACS(red)-CO). Best-fit rate constants were obtained. CO inhibited methyl group transfer by binding ACS(red) in accordance with K(D) = 180 +/- 90 microM. Fits were unimproved when >1 CO was assumed to bind. Ti(3+)citrate and dithionite inhibited the reverse methyl group transfer reaction, probably by reducing the D-site of CH(3)-ACS(ox). This redox site is oxidized by 2e(-) when the methyl cation is transferred from CH(3)-Co(3+)FeSP to ACS(red), and is reduced during the reverse reaction. Best-fit K(D) values for pre- and post-methyl-transfer complexes were 0.12 +/- 0.06 and 0.3 +/- 0.2 microM, respectively. Intracomplex methyl group transfer was reversible with K(eq) = 2.3 +/- 0.9 (k(f)/k(r) = 6.9 s(-1)/3.0 s(-1)). The nucleophilicity of the [Ni(2+)D(red)] unit appears comparable to that of Co(1+) cobalamins. Reduction of the D-site may cause the Ni(2+) of the A-cluster to behave like the Ni of an organometallic Ni(0) complex.  相似文献

The title compound,(E)-5-methoxy-2-((4-methoxyphenylimino)methyl)phenol(C15H15NO3),crystallizes in monoclinic, space group P21/c with a=9.4361(6),b=10.6212(5),c=12.9338(9),β=93.064(5)o,V=1294.41(14)3,Z=4,Dc=1.320 g/cm3,F(000)=544,Rint=0.116,T=296 K,μ=0.09 mm-1,the final R=0.051 and wR=0.148 for 1836 observed reflections with I2σ(I).An extensive two-dimensional network of C-H…O hydrogen bonds and π-ring interactions are responsible for the crystal stabilization.Intermolecular hydrogen bonds and C-H…π interactions produce R22(14),R44(30) and R44(31) rings. In addition to the molecular geometry from X-ray experiment, the molecular geometry of the title compound in the ground state has been calculated using the semi-empirical(AM1 and PM3) and density functional theory method(DFT)(B3LYP) with 6-31G(d) basis set.To determine the conformational flexibility, molecular energy profile of the title compound was obtained by semi-empirical(PM3 and AM1) and DFT/B3LYP calculations with respect to the selected degree of torsional freedom, which varied from -180° to +180° in a step of 10°.  相似文献

Rotationally resolved fluorescence excitation spectra of the 0(0)(0) bands of the S1<--S0 electronic transitions of 2- and 5-methylpyrimidine (2MP and 5MP, respectively) have been observed and assigned. Both spectra were found to contain two sets of rotational lines, one associated with the sigma=0 torsional level and the other associated with the sigma=+/-1 torsional level of the attached methyl group. Analyses of their structure using the appropriate torsion-rotation Hamiltonian yields the methyl group torsional barriers of V6'=1.56 and V6'=8.28 cm(-1) in 2MP and V6'=4.11 and V6'=58.88 cm(-1) in 5MP. Many of the lines in both spectra are fragmented by couplings with lower lying triplet states. Analyses of some of these perturbations yield approximate values of the intersystem crossing matrix elements, from which it is concluded that the sigma=+/-1 torsional levels of the S1 state are significantly more strongly coupled to the T1 state than the sigma=0 torsional levels.  相似文献

In this paper we report and discuss the effects of methyl group tunneling rotation on the methyl proton ENDOR, LAC and CR spectra in the lowest triplet state of toluquinone at 1.8 K. From a detailed analysis of the ENDOR spectra in the lowest rotational state (A) we obtain for the methyl protons the following isotropic hyperfine interaction constants: A1 = A2 = 34.4 MHz and A3 = ?53.7 MHz. The tunneling frequency (3J) is calculated to be 2.9 GHz. The most likely equilibrium configuration of the torsional oscillator is found to be the one whereby the molecular plane is a mirror plane and the out-of-plane methyl protons point towards the closest oxygen atom. We also show that cross-relaxation between |A> and |E> states of translational equivalent toluquinone molecules is responsible for the observed sidebands in the level-anti-crossing spectra of toluquinone.  相似文献
