Chromium copper-diamond-like carbon (Cr:Cu)-DLC films were deposited onto silicon and by cathodic arc evaporation process using chromium (Cr) and copper (Cu) target arc sources to provide Cr and Cu in the Me-DLC. Acetylene reactive gases were the carbon source and activated at 180 °C at 13 mTorr, and a substrate bias voltage was varied from −50 V to −200 V to provide the (Cr:Cu)-DLC structure. The structure, interface, and chemical bonding state of the produced film were analyzed by transmission electron microscope (TEM), IR Fourier transform (FTIR) spectra, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The results showed that the Cr-containing a-C:H/Cu coatings exhibited an amorphous layer of DLC:Cr layer and a crystalline layer of Cu multilayer structure. The profiles of sp3/sp2 (XPS) ratios corresponded to the change of microhardness profile by varying the pressure of the negative DC bias voltage. These (Cr:Cu)-DLC coatings are promising materials for soft substrate protective coatings.  相似文献

Cr/SiO2 catalysts with 1 or 3 wt.% Cr loadings and different chromium precursors were characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). A method to determine chromium species in the sample was developed through the decomposition of the Cr 2p XPS spectrum in Cr6+ and Cr3+ standard spectra. The results of the binding energy from the Cr 2p region and of the distribution of chromium species allowed to evaluate the dynamic photo-reduction of the surface chromium species during XPS analysis. Photo-reduction of surface Cr6+ to Cr3+ species was verified for all samples supported in silica, depending on the precursor and chromium content. Bulk CrO3 and Cr2O3 standards did not reveal variation in the binding energy of Cr 2p3/2, but a physical mixture of CrO3 with SiO2 presented photo-reduction. The behavior of this mixture resembled to the catalysts and suggests the participation of the surface hydroxyls of silica in the photo-reduction process. XPS intensity measurements for assessing dispersion of chromium oxide were used to compare the calcined and reduced catalysts to different chromium precursors. Polyethylene chains were detected by in situ XPS, while oligomerization products were not observed.  相似文献

The influence of hydrazine and hydroxylaminophosphate on solution chemistry and quality of chromium coatings deposited from Cr(III) formate-urea baths has been studied by FT-IR, XPS and AFM. The results have shown that hydrazine and hydroxylaminophosphate differently affect Cr plating. The morphology of Cr deposits obtained in the formate-urea electrolytes is a typical nodular structure with a less nodular and smoother fine-grained structure of Cr obtained in the presence of hydroxylaminophosphate. Hydrazine, in contrast, worsened the quality and lowered the hardness of the deposits. The current efficiency of chromium increases in the presence of both hydrazine and hydroxylaminophosphate. This may be related with the ability of these ligands to reduce the CrH content in the growing Cr deposit. The data obtained suggest that hydroxylaminophosphate improves the stability of the active [Cr(carbamide)n(H2O)6−n]3 complexes providing good quality of the deposits and prolonged working lifetime in the formate-urea bath.  相似文献

The surface compositions and oxidation states of non-exposed and water exposed plasma sprayed oxide coatings were studied using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Coating materials were TiO2, Al2O3 and Cr2O3 and their mixtures. Water exposures were performed for free standing coating disks at mild electrolyte (1 mmol NaCl solution) at pH 4, 7 and 9. The exposure time was two weeks. It was observed that pure plasma sprayed TiO2 material was chemically stable over whole experiment pH range and only slight surface hydroxylation was observed for this material. In case of plasma sprayed Al2O3 materials the surface O/Al ratio increased considerably during water exposure especially at exposure pH 7. This was probably result of surface conversion to hydrous form. No surface oxidation state changes were observed for this material. The non-exposed Cr2O3 materials contained both Cr(III) and Cr(VI) oxides. The water exposures increased the surface oxygen and Cr(VI) contents at the expense of Cr(III). The most probable reason for that was the dissolution of surface Cr(VI) oxide phase during water exposures and the (re)adsorption of dissolved Cr(VI) species back to the surface.  相似文献

The formation of chromium carbide-based hard-coatings on steels using a 90°-bend filtered cathodic vacuum arc (FCVA) has extensive industrial applications; such coatings are free of macroparticles and exhibit excellent characteristics. In this investigation, a working pressure of C2H2/Ar was adopted to synthesize amorphous chromium carbide film (a-C:Cr) and crystalline chromium carbide film (cryst-Cr3C2) from a Cr target (99.95%) at 500 °C under a substrate voltage of −50 V. The corrosion behavior of a-C:Cr coated on steel (a-C:Cr/steel) and cryst-Cr3C2 coated on steel (cryst-Cr3C2/steel) were compared in terms of open-circuit potentials (OCP) and polarization resistance (Rp) in an aerated 3.5 wt% NaCl aqueous solution, as determined by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The XRD results indicated that the transformation of a-C:Cr to cryst-Cr3C2 is distinct as the working pressure declines from 1.2 × 10−2 to 2.9 × 10−3 Torr. The OCP of a-C:Cr/steel and cryst-Cr3C2/steel resemble each other and both assembly are nobler than uncoated steel. The Rp of the coatings exceeds that of the uncoated steel. The SEM observation and the EIS results demonstrate that the cryst-Cr3C2/steel more effectively isolates the defects than dose a-C:Cr/steel.  相似文献

A passive film was formed on electroless Ni-P coating (ENPC) in a bath of K2Cr2O7 30 g/l. XPS and electrochemical methods were employed to analyze its chemical compositions and corrosion behaviors. The potentiodynamic polarization tests indicated the corrosion current of the passivated sample was 1/30 that of as-plated ENPC. The XPS analysis illustrated the film comprised Cr, Ni and O. The film thickness was evaluated to be a few nanometers according to the sputtering rate of Ar+ ion. High-resolution XPS spectra suggested that the detected Cr in film was in the form of trivalent compounds, Cr2O3 and Cr(OH)3.  相似文献

Diamond-like carbon (DLC) and TiAlSiCN nanocomposite coatings were synthesized and annealed at different temperatures in a vacuum environment. The microstructure, hardness and tribological properties of as-deposited and annealed DLC-TiAlSiCN nanocomposite coatings were characterized by X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Raman spectroscopy, nano-indentation and friction tests. The TEM results reveal that the as-deposited DLC-TiAlSiCN coating has a unique nanocomposite structure consisting of TiCN nanocrystals embedded in an amorphous matrix consisting of a-Si3N4, a-SiC, a-CN and DLC, and the structure changed little after annealing at 800 °C. However, XPS and Raman results show that an obvious graphitization of the DLC phase occurred during the annealing process and it worsened with annealing temperature. Because of the graphitization, the hardness of the DLC-TiAlSiCN coating after annealing at 800 °C decreased from 45 to 36 GPa. In addition, the DLC-TiAlSiCN coating after annealing at 800 °C has a similar friction coefficient to the as-deposited coating.  相似文献

The water-soluble Pr (Ⅲ) and Nd (Ⅲ) complexes with an ofloxacin derivative have been prepared and characterized. The single-crystal X-ray diffraction showed that the Pr (III) and Nd (III) complexes have the similar molecular structure. Under physiological pH condition, the effects of [PrL(NO3)2(CH3OH)](NO3) and [NdL(NO3)2(CH3OH)](NO3) on bovine serum albumin (BSA) were examined using fluorescence spectroscopy in combination with UV-vis absorbance and circular dichroism (CD) spectra. The result reveals that the quenching mechanism of fluorescence of BSA by two complexes is a static quenching process and the number of binding sites is about 1 for both. The thermodynamic parameters (ΔH=−14.52 kJ mol−1, ΔS=56.54 J mol−1 K−1 for [PrL(NO3)2(CH3OH)](NO3) and ΔH=−24.63 kJ mol−1, ΔS=22.07 J mol−1 K−1 for [NdL(NO3)2(CH3OH)](NO3)) indicate that hydrophobic and electrostatic interactions are the main binding force in the complexes-BSA system. The binding average distance between complexes and BSA was obtained on the basis of Förster's theory. In addition, it was proved by the CD spectra that the BSA secondary structure was changed in the presence of complexes in an aqueous solution.  相似文献

Low cost arc spraying and cored wires were used to deposit composite coatings consisting of TiB2 and TiB2/Al2O3 hard particles in a Ni(Cr) and stainless steel 304L matrix. Four coatings were prepared namely Ni(Cr)-TiB2, Ni(Cr)-TiB2/Al2O3, 304L-TiB2 and 304L-TiB2/Al2O3. The microstructural characteristics of powders and coatings were observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Phase compositions of powders were analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD). Although all the analyzed coatings exhibited similar lamella structure, remarkable differences not only in the morphology of hard phase and matrix but also in the size and distribution of hard phases were observed from one coating to another. Tribological behavior of the coatings was analyzed in room temperature dry sliding wear tests (block-on-ring configuration), under 75 N at low velocity (0.5 m/s). The coatings showed far high wear resistance than low carbon steel substrate under same conditions examined. Wear loss of 304L-TiB2 and Ni(Cr)-TiB2 coatings were lower nearly 15 times than that of steel substrate. TiB2 hard phases in coatings bonded well with metal matrix contributed to high wear resistance.  相似文献

Magnesium is one of the most important bivalent ions associated with biological apatite. A series of magnesium-substituted calcium apatite coatings (Ca10−xMgx)(PO4)6(OH)2, where x = 0, 0.50, 1.00, 1.50 and 2.00, are synthesized onto Ti6Al4V substrate by sol-gel dip-coating method to determine how magnesium influences the synthesis and the resulting structural and biological properties. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis shows that the incorporation of magnesium helps formation of Mg-containing β-TCP (β-TCMP) phase. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) is used to study the chemical composition and the results show that the apatite structure can only host magnesium less than ∼2.4 wt.% beyond which magnesium aggregates on the surfaces. The incorporation of magnesium slows down the dissolution of Ca2+ from the coating. The in vitro behavior of the coatings is evaluated with human osteosarcoma MG63 cells for cell morphology and proliferation. Similar cell morphologies are observed on all coatings. The cell proliferation results show that the incorporation of magnesium up to x = 2 has no adverse effect on cell growth.  相似文献

TiN-containing amorphous Ti-Al-Si-N (nc-TiN/a-Si3N4 or a-AlN) nanocomposite coatings were deposited by using a modified closed field twin unbalanced magnetron sputtering system which is arc assisted and consists of two circles of targets, at a substrate temperature of 300 °C. XRD, XPS and High-resolution TEM experiments showed that the coatings contain TiN nanocrystals embedded in the amorphous Si3N4 or AlN matrix. The coatings exhibit good mechanical properties that are greatly influenced by the Si contents. The hardness of the Ti-Al-Si-N coatings deposited at Si targets currents of 5, 8, 10, and 12 A were 45, 47, 54 and 46 GPa, respectively. The high hardness of the deposited Ti-Al-Si-N coatings may be own to the plastic distortion and dislocation blocking by the nanocrystalline structure. On the other hand, the friction coefficient decreases monotonously with increasing Si contents. This result would be caused by tribo-chemical reactions, which often take place in many ceramics, e.g. Si3N4 reacts with H2O to produce SiO2 or Si(OH)2 tribolay-layer.  相似文献

Cr, CrN, TiCr coatings have been investigated as potential anti-multipactor coatings. The coatings were synthesized by cathodic-arc reactive evaporation in Ar-N2 atmosphere where the ion energy is controlled by substrate biasing. Chemical state analysis and surface composition were studied by X-ray photoemission spectroscopy (XPS), whereas bulk composition and depth profile were studied by glow discharge optical emission spectroscopy (GDOES). The surface morphology was studied by optical profilometry (OP) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The compositions of the coatings were CrN and Ti40Cr60 and they were homogeneous in depth. Surface oxidation was higher in Ti40Cr60 than in CrN. Coatings deposited at high negative bias show lower deposition rate and had lower surface roughness than those obtained at low bias. Secondary electron emission yield (SEY) was higher for CrN than for Ti40Cr60, both before and after low-energy Ar+ ion bombardment. The SEY of Ti40Cr60 (1.17 maximum) was clearly smaller than the others. The maximum yield, σm, and the first crossover electron energy, E1, are the most important parameters, and (E1/σm)1/2 is a good figure of merit. This quantity was approximately 3 eV1/2 for Cr and CrN and 4 eV1/2 for Ti40Cr. After Ar+ ion bombardment, the average value improved significantly to 8.9 eV1/2 for Cr and CrN and 10.2 eV1/2 for Ti40Cr60. The radio-frequency multipactor performance of these materials was simulated using the experimentally determined SEY parameters.  相似文献

Ceria-yttria stabilized zirconia (CYSZ) coatings were prepared by air plasma-sprayed on the nickel alloy. The as-sprayed CYSZ coatings and heat-treated CYSZ coatings were characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The XPS data indicated the coexistence of Ce3+, Ce4+, Y3+ and Zr4+ ions near the surface of the as-sprayed CYSZ coatings and the disappearance of Ce3+ ions in the CYSZ coatings after thermal treatment at 1000 °C for 15 h. From the XRD patterns, the solid solution of CeO2-Y2O3-ZrO2 formed in the CYSZ coatings because of the lack of any features from Y2O3 and ZrO2 single phases. After thermal treatment, the main phases of all the samples were consistent with the characteristic peaks of cubic ZrO2.  相似文献

Stable superhydrophobic films were prepared on the electrochemical oxidized titania/titanium substrate by a simple immersion technique into a methanol solution of hydrolyzed 1H,1H,2H,2H-perfluorooctyltriethoxysilane [CF3(CF2)5(CH2)2Si(OCH2CH3)3, PTES] for 1 h at room temperature followed by a short annealing at 140 °C in air for 1 h. The surface morphologies and chemical composition of the film were characterized by means of water contact angle (CA), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), atomic force microscope (AFM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The water contact angle on the surface of this film was measured to be as high as 160°. SEM images showed that the resulting surfaces exhibited special hierarchical structure. The special hierarchical structure along with the low surface energy leads to the high surface superhydrophobicity. The corrosion resistance ability and durance property of the superhydrophobic film in 3.5 wt.% NaCl solution was evaluated by the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The anticorrosion properties of the superhydrophobic film are compared to those of unmodified pure titanium and titania/titanium substrates. The results showed that the superhydrophobic film provides an effective corrosion resistant coating for the titanium metal even with immersion periods up to 90 d in the 3.5 wt.% NaCl solution, pointing to promising future applications.  相似文献

Calcium phosphate (CaP)/collagen coatings were prepared on the surface of carbon/carbon (C/C) composites by electrochemically assisted co-deposition technique. The effects of collagen concentration in the electrolyte on morphology, structure and composition of the coatings were systematically investigated using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transformed infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The adhesive strength of the coatings was also evaluated by scratch tests and tensile bond tests. It was demonstrated that the coatings of three-dimensional collagen network structure was formed on the C/C composites from the electrolyte containing collagen. The surface of the collagen network was covered by uniform CaP aggregates. The coatings were actually composites of CaP and collagen. Hydroxyapatite (HA) was a favorable composition in the coatings with the increase of the collagen concentration in the electrolyte. The formed collagen network increased the cohesive and adhesive strength of the coatings. The adhesive strength between the coatings and substrates increased as the collagen concentration in the electrolyte increased. The coatings prepared at the collagen concentration of 500 mg/L in the electrolyte were not scraped off until the applied load reached 32.0 ± 2.2 N and the average tensile adhesive strength of the coatings was 4.83 ± 0.71 MPa. After C/C coated with composite coatings (500 mg/L) being immersed in a 10−3 M Ca (OH)2 solution at 30-33 °C for 96 h, nano-structured HA/collagen coatings similar to the natural human bone were obtained on the C/C.  相似文献

The Cr-Al-N coatings were synthesized at various substrate bias voltages and nitrogen partial pressures by multi-arc ion plating (M-AIP). The relationships between deposition parameters and coating properties were investigated. Morphologies, phase structures, hardness and adhesion strength of the coatings were analyzed by SEM, XRD, XPS, nano-indenter and scratch tester. The results indicated that with the increase of substrate bias voltages, the surface macroparticles and deposition rate reduced mainly for the resputtering phenomenon. The (Cr, Al)N solid-solution phase kept unchanged, but the Cr2N and AlN phases disappeared gradually. Due to the change of phase structures and residual compressive stress, the hardness values decreased and the adhesion strength decreased initially and then increased. Similarly, with the increase of nitrogen partial pressures, the phase structures of CrAlN coatings varied from Cr + Cr2N + (Cr,Al)N to Cr2N + (Cr,Al)N. The surface macroparticles increased due to the decreasing resputtering efficiency, and the deposition rate increased initially and then decreased due to the resputtering phenomenon. With increasing nitrogen partial pressures, adhesion strength decreased initially and then increased. The microhardness increased mainly due to the increase of Cr2N contents and decrease of metal macroparticles.  相似文献

In this paper, ceramic coatings were prepared on biomedical NiTi alloys by micro-arc oxidation (MAO) in constant voltage mode. The current density-time response was recorded during the MAO process. The microstructure, element distribution and phase composition of the coatings prepared at different MAO treatment times were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer (EDS), thin-film X-ray diffraction (TF-XRD) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The corrosion behavior of the coatings in 0.9% NaCl solution was evaluated by the potentiodynamic polarization test. It is found that the coatings become more compact with increasing the MAO treatment time, and the growth rate of coating decreases. The results of TF-XRD, EDS and XPS indicate that the coatings are composed of a large amount of γ-Al2O3 and a little α-Al2O3, TiO2 and Ni2O3. The Ni content of the coatings is about 3 at.%, which is greatly lower than that of NiTi substrate. The bonding strength of coating-substrate is higher than 40 MPa for all the samples in this study. The corrosion resistance of the coatings is about two orders of magnitude higher than that of the uncoated NiTi alloy.  相似文献

There is a well known performance gap in corrosion resistance between thermally sprayed corrosion resistant coatings and the equivalent bulk materials. Interconnected porosity has an important and well known effect, however there are additional relevant microstructural effects. Previous work has shown that a compositional difference exists between the regions of resolidified and non-melted material that exist in the as-sprayed coatings. The resolidified regions are depleted in oxide forming elements due to formation of oxides during coating deposition. Formation of galvanic cells between these different regions is believed to decrease the corrosion resistance of the coating. In order to increase understanding of the details of this effect, this work uses X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) to study the passive films formed on thermally sprayed coatings (HVOF) and bulk Inconel 625, a commercially available corrosion resistant Ni-Cr-Mo-Nb alloy. Passive films produced by potentiodynamic scanning to 400 mV in 0.5 M sulphuric acid were compared with air-formed films. The poorer corrosion performance of the thermally sprayed coatings was attributed to Ni(OH)2, which forms a loose, non-adherent and therefore non-protective film. The good corrosion resistance of wrought Inconel 625 is due to formation of Cr, Mo and Nb oxides.  相似文献

The initial stages of surface oxidation of Fe-17Cr (ferritic stainless steel) were investigated at 323 K by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and inelastic electron background analysis. The results indicated the formation of a mixed iron-chromium oxide layer upon O2 exposure and the formation of a thin chromium oxyhydroxide layer upon H2O exposure. The oxidation of Fe did not occur in the latter case. Moreover, it was found that pre-exposing the Fe-17Cr surface to H2O significantly hinders subsequent oxidation by O2, thus providing a way to control the formation of nanoscale oxides on stainless steel materials. It was concluded that the formation of strongly bound hydroxyl species together with adsorbate-induced segregation of Cr severely limits the reaction between O2/H2O and Fe from the alloy.  相似文献

Al2O3 /TiN double and Al2O3/Cr/TiN triple coatings were produced on stainless steel substrates using plasma-detonation techniques. Investigation of the microstructure and characteristics of the coatings after the preparation was performed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and Auger electron spectroscopy (AES). The corrosion resistance of the coatings was studied in several electrolytic solutions (0.5 M H2SO4, 1 M HCl, 0.75 M NaCl) using electrochemical techniques (open circuit potential, cyclovoltammetry and potentiodynamic polarization). The obtained results showed, in most of the cases, an improvement of the corrosion resistance, except in NaCl solutions. The effect of the controlled thickness of TiN and Cr layers as well as the additional treatment with a high-current electron beam was also investigated. Nuclear reaction analysis (NRA), Rutherford backscattering spectroscopy (RBS) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were applied for the characterization of the samples before and after the corrosion experiments.  相似文献
