Assuming that the Raman gain profile of silica fiber is a triangular function, we derive analytic solutions of N-channel steady-state forward SRS coupling wave equation with equal (but arbitrary) channel spacing. Considering the SRS cross coupling among N-channels, the analytic solutions are applicable to arbitrary signal light power. The results point out that the sequence mi=pi(z)/pi(0) [pi(z) and pi(0) is the power of signal light of i-th channel at transmission length z and 0, respectively. i=1,2,...N] maintains a geometric progression with the common ratio q in the transmission process. The common ratio q varies as a exponential function of the effective transmission length, the sum of input light power and the channel spacing, respectively. 相似文献

考虑到DWDM系统中的比特序列的随机性、信道间脉冲走离效应等多种因素的影响,完善了归零调制格式下的四波混频效率的计算方法,给出了相应的非简并四波混频噪声标准差的计算公式,并利用该公式进行实例分析,计算结果表明,当占空比和信道间隔变小时,不同信道内的随机比特序列的相对初始时延及光纤色散值的取值组合对四波混频效率的影响变得更大,为保证系统的低色散和低四波混频串扰特性,必须对这些量取值组合进行优化.

This paper deals with the limiting factors like Stimulated Brillouin Scattering (SBS), Stimulated Raman Scattering (SRS) and Four Wave Mixing (FWM) in DWDM Fiber Optic Communication. The variation of SBS threshold power level for the spectral width of the source is analyzed and it is found that addition of spectral width in the source lowers the SBS effect. By reducing the SBS effect, we could transmit more optical power in a single channel and maintain high OSNR. Similarly the effect of phase mismatching (dispersion) and wavelength spacing on both FWM and SRS are analyzed. This work aims at finding the optimal value of spectral width, dispersion and channel spacing, thereby exploring the possibilities of increasing the overall capacity of the fiber optic trunk line. 相似文献

The focus of this paper is to investigate the methods for Four Wave Mixing (FWM) suppression. Modified techniques equal and unequal-channel spacing with polarization, equal channel spacing with alternate channel delay, optical coupling and varied laser power have been proposed to reduce the impact of FWM on Dense Wave Length Division Multiplexing (DWDM) optical communication system. Further the comparison of reduction of FWM for existing and proposed techniques has been discussed by varying the dispersion of fiber from 0 to 16 ps/nm/km. 在安保工作中,为快速发现狙击手,构建了利用狙击镜的猫眼效应原理来发现目标的系统。该系统不同于传统的采用连续激光扫描视场,而采用可调制半导体激光器为探测光源,在调制信号的控制下照射视场,CCD接收相应的主被动回波图像。并根据目标距离不同所成图像特征不同的特点,提出了分别针对远近目标的识别算法,最终在嵌入式DSP高速处理平台上进行图像处理实现。外场实验结果表明,主被动图像相结合,且利用远近目标不同的识别算法,有效提高了探测率,降低了虚警率,系统准确探测到了300m近目标和800m远目标,并达到10frames/s的实时处理速度。 相似文献

We investigate the problem of nonlinear interaction of a gas of three-level atoms with the field of standing waves in the
situation where the atomic free path length at the initial and final metastable levels is comparable with the transverse dimensions
of the field. The standing waves are resonant to adjacent Doppler-broadened transitions. The case of fields of Gaussian profile
is analysed. It has been shown that in the limiting case of large free path length the nonlinear resonance width is of the
order of the inverse time of flight of an atom in the field. The first and second derivatives of resonance with respect to

We investigate the role of a spatially inhomogenous nonresonant background medium on several Raman-based imaging modalities. In particular, we consider a small resonant bead submerged in a spatially heterogeneous nonresonant χ(3) background. Using detailed 3D electrodynamic simulations, we compare coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS), frequency-modulated CARS, amplitude-modulated stimulated Raman scattering (SRS), and frequency-modulated SRS. A novel Pockels effect based optical voltage sensor (OVS) consisting of quasi-reciprocal reflective optical circuit is proposed and demonstrated in this paper. The quasi-reciprocal reflective optical circuit is realized so that a digital closed-loop detection technique adopted from fiber gyroscopes can be introduced to obtain the voltage-induced Pockels phase. Due to the digital closed-loop detection scheme, the proposed OVS is insensitive to the fluctuation of the light intensity and the dynamic range is independent of the half-wave voltage of the Pockels crystal compared to the conventional crystal bulk-type with the light intensity based detection scheme. A prototype of the proposed OVS is designed and evaluated. The calculated results of the electric field distribution show that the maximal measured voltage of the sensing element is up to 15 kV. The dc voltage from 0 to 3000 V and 50 Hz ac voltage from 0 to 5000 V are measured with good linearity. The proposed OVS achieves accuracy within ± 1% and ± 0.44% with the measured dc voltage above 800 V and ac voltage above 500 V, respectively. The influences of the alignment error in the sensing element on the measurement accuracy are also theoretically analyzed and experimentally verified. 相似文献

Experimental verifications of the feasibility of using chirped fiber grating (CFG) as the dispersion compensation device in a bi-directional hybrid dense-wavelength-division-multiplexing (DWDM) system to reduce the dispersion and cross-phase modulation (XPM) induced crosstalk were proposed and demonstrated. Not only channel capacity was increased, but also good performances of carrier-to-noise ratio (CNR) > 50 dB, composite second order (CSO) >72 dB, composite triple beat (CTB) >69 dB and low bit error rate (BER) < 10-9 were achieved in our proposed system over a 50-km single-mode fiber (SMF) transport. 相似文献

It is often assumed that listeners detect an increment in the intensity of a pure tone by detecting an increase in the energy falling within the critical band centered on the signal frequency. A noise masker can be used to limit the use of signal energy falling outside of the critical band, but facets of the noise may impact increment detection beyond this intended purpose. The current study evaluated the impact of envelope fluctuation in a noise masker on thresholds for detection of an increment. Thresholds were obtained for detection of an increment in the intensity of a 0.25- or 4-kHz pedestal in quiet and in the presence of noise of varying bandwidth. Results indicate that thresholds for detection of an increment in the intensity of a pure tone increase with increasing bandwidth for an on-frequency noise masker, but are unchanged by an off-frequency noise masker. Neither a model that includes a modulation-filter-bank analysis of envelope modulation nor a model based on discrimination of spectral patterns can account for all aspects of the observed data. 相似文献
