This work is devoted to near-optimal controls of large-scale discrete-time nonlinear dynamic systems driven by Markov chains; the underlying problem is to minimize an expected cost function. Our main goal is to reduce the complexity of the underlying systems. To achieve this goal, discrete-time control models under singularly-perturbed Markov chains are introduced. Using a relaxed control representation, our effort is devoted to finding near-optimal controls. Lumping the states in each irreducible class into a single state gives rise to a limit system. Applying near-optimal controls of the limit system to the original system, near-optimal controls of the original system are derived.  相似文献

Defant [5] introduced the local Radon–Nikodym property for duals of locally convex spaces. This is a generalization of Asplund spaces as defined in Banach space theory. In this paper we generalise Dunford"s Theorem [7] to Banach spaces with Schauder decompositions and apply this result to spaces of holomorphic functions on balanced domains in a Banach space. We show that the Asplund property of Banach spaces is not only sufficient but also a necessary condition for the fulfillment of some basic results in nonsmooth analysis involving Fréchet-like normals and subdifferentials as well as their sequential limits. In this way we obtain new characterizations of Asplund spaces within the framework of nonsmooth analysis. Then we study several versions of smooth variational principles in Asplund spaces, provide necessary and sufficient conditions for the validity of such principles, and establish their relationships with certain subdifferential properties of lower semicontinuous functions.  相似文献

Abstract

This work focuses on stability of regime-switching discrete-time systems with delays. Two-time-scale formulation is used for the purpose of reduction of complexity. It is demonstrated that associated with the original system, there is a limit system that is a switching diffusion process. An interesting problem is concerned with if the stability of the limit switching diffusion process can be carried over to the original system. This question is answered in the article. Furthermore, path excursion, mean recurrence time, and the associated error bounds are considered.  相似文献

Classical Hamiltonian spin systems are continuous dynamical systems on the symplectic phase space \((S^2)^n\). In this paper, we investigate the underlying geometry of a time discretization scheme for classical Hamiltonian spin systems called the spherical midpoint method. As it turns out, this method displays a range of interesting geometrical features that yield insights and sets out general strategies for geometric time discretizations of Hamiltonian systems on non-canonical symplectic manifolds. In particular, our study provides two new, completely geometric proofs that the discrete-time spin systems obtained by the spherical midpoint method preserve symplecticity. The study follows two paths. First, we introduce an extended version of the Hopf fibration to show that the spherical midpoint method can be seen as originating from the classical midpoint method on \(T^*\mathbf {R}^{2n}\) for a collective Hamiltonian. Symplecticity is then a direct, geometric consequence. Second, we propose a new discretization scheme on Riemannian manifolds called the Riemannian midpoint method. We determine its properties with respect to isometries and Riemannian submersions, and, as a special case, we show that the spherical midpoint method is of this type for a non-Euclidean metric. In combination with Kähler geometry, this provides another geometric proof of symplecticity.  相似文献

The paper deals with the calmness of two classes of nonconvex set-valued mappings in Asplund spaces and its application to equilibrium problems. Its main part is devoted to establish new sufficient conditions for calmness, which are derived in terms of coderivatives and w* boundaries of normal cones to constraint sets. In order to achieve this goal, a new concept so-called “sequential normal smoothness” for the sets in Asplund spaces is introduced and compared with two well-known notions of convexity and semismoothness. Finally, the results are applied to prove necessary optimality conditions for nonparametric equilibrium problems under new weak constraint qualifications.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the stabilization problem for a class of nonlinear discrete-time control systems. We consider semilinear systems with a nonlinear perturbation satisfying a Hölder-type condition. Based on a new discrete inequality of Gronwall type, we establish sufficient conditions for the global and local weak stabilizability of semilinear and nonlinear discrete-time systems, respectively.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with discrete-time hybrid filtering of linear non-Gaussian systems coupled by a hidden switching process. An optimal control approach is used to derive a finite-dimensional recursive filter which is optimal in the sense of the most probable trajectory estimate. Models with unknown switching distributions are considered. Extensions to nonlinear hybrid systems are given. Numerical examples are considered and computational experiments are reported. These examples demonstrate that our filtering scheme outperforms popular filtering schemes available in the literature.  相似文献

A transportation system is operated with one vehicle and N service points. At one terminal of the system passengers arrive in groups only at discrete points in time; at the other service points, riders enter steadily at constant rates. Vehicle travel times between adjacent service points are random variables. The problem addressed in this paper is that of devising the operating strategy which minimizes average waiting time for passengers of the system. Using different kinds of probabilistic analysis, we obtain optimal policy statements both when the discrete-time arrivals occur at fixed instants of equal spacing, and when these arrivals occur in Poisson fashion. This paper deals with the decoupling problems of unknown, measurable, and previewed signals. First, well-known solutions of unknown and measurable disturbance decoupling problems are recalled. Then, new necessary and sufficient constructive conditions for the previewed signal decoupling problem are proposed. The discrete-time case is considered. In this domain, previewing a signal by p steps means that the kth sample of the signal to be decoupled is known p steps in advance.The main result is that the stability condition for the mentioned decoupling problems does not change; i.e., the resolving subspace to be stabilized is the same independently of the type of signal to be decoupled, no matter whether it is completely unknown, measured, or previewed.The problem has been studied through self-bounded controlled invariants, thus minimizing the dimension of the resolving subspace which corresponds to the infimum of a lattice. The reduced dimension of the resolving controlled invariant subspace reduces the order of the controller units.  相似文献

This paper describes the synthesis of robust decentralized controllers for uncertain large-scale discrete-time systems with time delays in the subsystem interconnections. Based on the Lyapunov method, a sufficient condition for robust stability is derived in terms of a linear matrix inequality (LMI). The solutions of the LMIs can be obtained easily using efficient convex optimization techniques. A numerical example is given to illustrate the proposed method.  相似文献

This paper deals with the issues of robust stability for uncertain discrete-time switched systems with mode-dependent time delays.Based on a novel difference inequality and a switched Lyapunov function,new delay-dependent stability criteria are formulated in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) which are not contained in known literature.A numerical example is given to demonstrate that the proposed criteria improves some existing results significantly with much less computational effort.  相似文献
