A study of energy behavior of the pion spectra and interferometry scales is carried out for the top SPS, RHIC and LHC energies within the hydrokinetic approach. The latter allows one to describe evolution of quark–gluon and hadron matter as well as continuous particle emission from the fluid in agreement with the underlying kinetic equations. The main mechanisms that lead to the paradoxical, at first sight, behavior of the interferometry scales, are exposed. In particular, a slow decrease and apparent saturation of Rout/RsideRout/Rside ratio with an energy growth happens due to a strengthening of positive correlations between space and time positions of pions emitted at the radial periphery of the system. Such en effect is a consequence of the two factors: a developing of the pre-thermal collective transverse flows and an increase of the initial energy density in the fireball.  相似文献

We perform a joint jet tomographic analysis of the data on the nuclear modification factor R AA from PHENIX at RHIC and ALICE at LHC. The computations are performed accounting for radiative and collisional parton energy loss with running coupling constant. Our results show that the observed slow variation of R AA from RHIC to LHC indicates that the QCD coupling constant is suppressed in the quark-gluon plasma produced at LHC.  相似文献

The flavor dependence of the nuclear modification factor R AA in the pQCD calculations at LHC energies has been examined. The computations are performed accounting for radiative and collisional parton energy loss with running coupling constant. Our results show that the recent LHC data on the R AA for charged hadrons, D-mesons, and non-photonic electrons agree reasonably with the pQCD picture of the parton energy loss with the dominating contribution from the radiative mechanism.  相似文献

We present a detailed study of the total pp cross section for scalar Higgs production to next-to-next-to-leading order in αs at LHC energies, and of the pp̄ cross section at the Tevatron, combining an implementation of the solutions of the parton evolution equations at the three-loop order with the corresponding hard scatterings, evaluated at the same perturbative order. Our solutions of the DGLAP equations are implemented directly in x-space and allow for the study of the dependence of the results on the factorization (μF) and renormalization scales (μR) typical of a given process, together with the stability of the perturbative expansion. The input sets for the parton evolutions are those given by Martin, Roberts, Stirling and Thorne and by Alekhin. Results for K-factors are also presented. The NNLO corrections can be quite sizeable at typical collider energies. The stability region of the perturbative expansion is found when μR>mH∼μF.  相似文献

Using the hydrokinetic model of pionic emission in heavy ion collisions, we study the effects of continuous particle emission for 3D azimuthal symmetric Bjorken-type expansion. We describe RHIC pion data in central A + A collisions and make predictions for LHC based on the hydrokinetic model and initial conditions taken from the color glass condensate model. In the extra dimension models of ADD and RS we study the dependence of the various parton distribution functions on observables of Drell–Yan processes to NLO in QCD at LHC and Tevatron energies. Uncertainties at LHC due to factorisation scales in going from leading to next-to-leading order in QCD for the various distributions get reduced by about 2.75 times for a μF range 0.5Q<μF<1.5Q. Further uncertainties arising from the error on the experimental data are estimated using the MRST parton distribution functions.  相似文献

Following our earlier finding based on RHIC data on the dominant jet production from nucleus corona region, we reconsider this effect in nucleus–nucleus collisions at the LHC energies. Our hypothesis was based on experimental data, which raised the idea of a finite formation time for the produced medium. At the RHIC energy and in low-density corona region, this time reaches about 2 fm/c. Following this hypothesis, the nuclear modification factor R AA at high p t should be independent on particle momentum, and the azimuthal anisotropy of high p t particles, v 2, should be finite. A separate prediction held that, at the LHC energy, the formation time in the corona region should be about 1 fm/c. New LHC data show that R AA is not flat and is rising with p t . We add to our original hypothesis an assumption that a fast parton traversing the produced medium loses the fixed portion of its energy. A shift of about 7 GeV from the original power law p ?6 production cross section in pp explains well all the observed R AA dependencies. The shift of about 7 GeV is also valid at the RHIC energy. We also show that the observed at the LHC dependence of v 2 at high p t and our previous predictions agree.  相似文献

The azimuthal anisotropy of particle distributions is one of the important observables that characterize collective effects at the initial stage of the formation and expansion of quark-gluon matter in collisions of relativistic nuclei. It is expected that an increase in energy from RHIC to LHC values will be accompanied by the growth of the azimuthal-anisotropy coefficient υ 2 and the growth of nonflow effects (contribution of minijets and other correlations between particles). In the present study, methods for determining the azimuthal-anisotropy coefficient υ 2 are analyzed on the basis of events simulated with the aid of the HYDJET generator for Pb + Pb collisions at the LHC energies, the contribution of nonflow effects being estimated. The accuracy of measuring the coefficient υ 2 as a function the transverse momentum and pseudorapidity under experimental conditions at LHC is assessed.  相似文献

The first LHC data on high transverse momentum hadron and dijet spectra in PbPb collisions at center-of-mass energy 2.76 TeV per nucleon pair are analyzed in the frameworks of PYQUEN jet quenching model. The presented studies for the nuclear modification factor of high-p T hadrons and the imbalance in dijet transverse energy support the supposition that the intensive wide-angular (“out-of-cone”) medium-induced partonic energy loss is seen in central PbPb collisions at the LHC.  相似文献

Scaling of single photon production in pp and collisions is studied. It is empirically observed that the available data scales for and for larger . The NLO pQCD predictions for pp collisions at an of 200 and 5500 GeV, relevant for RHIC and LHC energies are seen to closely follow this scaling behavior. Implications for single photon production in heavy ion collisions are discussed. Received: 2 February 2001 / Revised version: 28 May 2001 / Published online: 5 October 2001  相似文献

We use recent nuclear parton distributions, among them the Hirai — Kumano — Nagai (HKN) and Eskola — Paukkunen — Salgado (EPS08) parameterizations, in our pQCD-improved parton model to calculate the nuclear modification factor, R AA′ (p T ), at RHIC and at the LHC. At RHIC, the deuteron-gold nuclear modification factor for pions, measured at p T ≥ 10 GeV/c in central collisions, appears to deviate more from unity than the model results. The slopes of the calculated R dAu (p T ) are similar to the slopes of the PHENIX pion and photon data. At LHC, without final-state effects we see a small enhancement of R dPb (p T ) in the transverse momentum range 10 GeV/c ≥ p T ≥ 100 GeV/c for most parameterizations. The inclusion of final-state energy loss will reduce the R dPb (p T ) values.  相似文献

In the framework of the quark–gluon string model we calculate the inclusive spectra of secondaries produced in d+Au collisions at intermediate (CERN SPS) and at much higher (RHIC) energies. The results of numerical calculations at intermediate energies are in reasonable agreement with the data. At RHIC energies numerically large inelastic screening corrections (percolation effects) should be accounted for in the calculations. We extract these effects from the existing experimental data of RHIC on minimum-bias and central d+Au collisions. The predictions for p+Au interactions at LHC energy are also given.  相似文献

Using ideal relativistic hydrodynamics in 2+1 dimensions, we study the collision-energy dependence of radial and elliptic flow, of the emitted hadron spectra, and of the transverse momentum dependence of several hadronic particle ratios, covering the range from Alternating Gradient Synchrotron (AGS) to Large Hadron Collider (LHC) energies. These calculations establish an ideal-fluid dynamic baseline that can be used to assess non-equilibrium features manifest in future LHC heavy-ion experiments. Contrary to earlier suggestions we find that a saturation and even decrease of the differential elliptic flow v 2(p T) with increasing collision energy cannot be unambiguously associated with the QCD phase transition.  相似文献

Radial, angular and total correlation energies are calculated for four two-electron systems with atomic numbers Z=0-3 confined within an impenetrable sphere of radius R. We report accurate results for the non-relativistic, restricted Hartree-Fock and radial limit energies over a range of confinement radii from 0.05-10a0. At small R, the correlation energies approach limiting values that are independent of Z while at intermediate R, systems with Z?1 exhibit a characteristic maximum in the correlation energy resulting from an increase in the angular correlation energy which is offset by a decrease in the radial correlation energy.  相似文献

The diffractive vector meson photoproduction with hadron dissociation in coherent hadron-hadron interactions at LHC energies is studied assuming that the color singlet t-channel exchange carries large momentum transfer. We estimate the rapidity distribution and total cross-section for the processes pppVX and PbPbPbVX (V = ρ or ϒ considering the non-forward solution of the BFKL equation at high energy and large momentum transfer. Our results indicate that the experimental identification of these processes can be feasible at the LHC.  相似文献

Recently, Bauke and Mertens conjectured that the local statistics of energies in random spin systems with discrete spin space should in most circumstances be the same as in the random energy model. We review some rigorous results confirming the validity of this conjecture. In the context of the SK models, we analyse the limits of the validity of the conjecture for energy levels growing with the volume of the system. In the case of the Generalised Random energy model, we give a complete analysis for the behaviour of the local energy statistics at all energy scales. In particular, we show that, in this case, the REM conjecture holds exactly up to energies E N < β c N, where β c is the critical temperature. We also explain the more complex behaviour that sets in at higher energies. UMP2 calculations with aug-cc-pVDZ basis set were used to analyse intermolecular interactions in R3C···XCN···LiCN and R3C···LiCN···XCN triads (R = H, CH3; X = Cl, Br) which are connected via lithium bond and halogen bond. To understand the properties of the systems better, the corresponding dyads are also studied. Molecular geometries and binding energies of dyads, and triads are investigated at the UMP2/aug-cc-pVDZ computational level. Particular attention is paid to parameters such as cooperative energies, and many-body interaction energies. All studied complexes, with the simultaneous presence of a lithium bond and a halogen bond, show cooperativity with energy values ranging between ?1.20 and ?7.71 kJ mol?1. A linear correlation was found between the interaction energies and magnitude of the product of most positive and negative electrostatic potentials (VS,maxVS,min). The electronic properties of the complexes are analysed using parameters derived from the atoms in molecules (AIM) methodology. According to energy decomposition analysis, it is revealed that the electrostatic interactions are the major source of the attraction in the title complexes.  相似文献

The ATLAS detector at the LHC is capable of efficiently separating photons and neutral hadrons based on their shower shapes over a wide range in η, ϕ and E T , either in addition to or instead of isolation cuts. This provides ATLAS with a unique strength for direct photon and γ-jet physics (“tomography”) as well as access to the unique capability to measure non-isolated photons from fragmentation or from the medium. We present a first look at the ATLAS direct photon measurement capabilities in p+p and Pb+Pb collisions at LHC energies over the region |η| < 2.4.  相似文献
