In‐situ extraction and condensation of various dyes were carried out in a phase‐separation region of a thermoresponsive polymer aqueous solution generated by near infrared (NIR) laser heating under a microscope. The NIR laser irradiation was directed at a chromium line deposited on a glass substrate, thereby causing local heating of the solution due to the photothermal effect. A phase‐separation region was formed by dehydration of the thermoresponsive polymer followed by ejection of water outside of the phase‐separation region. When various dyes were included in the solution, some dye molecules were extracted into the phase‐separation region, where they condensed. In the case of poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM, 10 wt % in an aqueous solution) as the thermoresponsive polymer and crystal violet (CV) as the dye (0.1 mM ), CV condensed by about 25 times. It was found that one of the necessary conditions for the extraction/condensation is the hydrophobicity of the dye molecule; however, the dominant cause for accumulating inside the PNIPAM chain is the molecular interaction between the amide group in the side chain of PNIPAM and the functional groups such as carbonyl or amino groups in the dye molecules.  相似文献

Photothermal therapy (PTT) is enhanced by the use of nanoparticles with a large optical absorption at the treatment wavelength. However, this comes at the cost of higher light attenuation that results in reduced depth of heating as well as larger thermal gradients, leading to potential over‐ and under‐treatment in the target tissue. These limitations can be overcome by using photothermal enhancing auto‐regulating liposomes (PEARLs), based on thermochromic J‐aggregate forming dye–lipid conjugates that reversibly alter their absorption above a predefined lipid phase‐transition temperature. Under irradiation by near‐infrared light, deeper layers of the target tissue revert to the intrinsic optical absorption, halting the temperature rise and enabling greater light penetration and heat generation at depth. This effect is demonstrated in both nanoparticle solutions and in gel phantoms containing the nanoparticles.  相似文献

The high performances of dye‐sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) based on seven new dyes are disclosed. Herein, the synthesis and electrochemical and photophysical properties of a series of intentionally designed dipolar organic dyes and their application in DSSCs are reported. The molecular structures of the seven organic dyes are composed of a triphenylamine group as an electron donor, a cyanoacrylic acid as an electron acceptor, and an electron‐deficient diphenylquinoxaline moiety integrated in the π‐conjugated spacer between the electron donor and acceptor moieties. The DSSCs based on the dye DJ104 gave the best overall cell performance of 8.06 %; the efficiency of the DSSC based on the standard N719 dye under the same experimental conditions was 8.82 %. The spectral coverage of incident photon‐to‐electron conversion efficiencies extends to the onset at the near‐infrared region due to strong internal charge‐transfer transition as well as the effect of electron‐deficient diphenylquinoxaline to lower the energy gap in these organic dyes. A combined tetraphenyl segment as a hydrophobic barrier in these organic dyes effectively slows down the charge recombination from TiO2 to the electrolyte and boosts the photovoltage, comparable to their RuII counterparts. Detailed spectroscopic studies have revealed the dye structure–cell performance correlations, to allow future design of efficient light‐harvesting organic dyes.  相似文献

The first anion‐templated synthesis of a lanthanide‐containing interlocked molecule is demonstrated by utilizing a nitrite anion to template initial pseudorotaxane formation. Subsequent stoppering of the interpenetrated assembly allows for the preparation of a lanthanide‐functionalized [2]rotaxane in high yield. Following removal of the nitrite anion template, the europium [2]rotaxane host is demonstrated to recognize and sense fluoride selectively.  相似文献

This article reviews our recent studies on structure and properties of rotaxanes and pseudorotaxanes with Fe-, Pd- and Pt-containing complexes as the axle component. Electrochemical oxidation of ferrocenylmethylamine in the presence of a hydrogen radical precursor induces formal protonation of the amino group and produces a pseudorotaxane of the resulting ammonium species with a crown ether. Single crystals of the ferrocene-containing pseudorotaxane undergo a thermal crystalline phase transition accompanied by changes in the optical properties of the crystals. X-Ray crystallographic studies of the low- and high-temperature phases revealed different intermolecular interactions and orientations of the aromatic rings in the crystalline state depending on the temperature. End-capping of the ferrocene-containing [2]pseudorotaxane using a cross-metathesis reaction yields [2]rotaxane under mild conditions. A rotaxane having a platinum-carboxylate complex as its axle is converted into related organic and inorganic rotaxanes by partial dissociation of the Pt-O bond. An N-alkylbipyridinium forms [3]pseudorotaxane with alpha-cyclodextrin (alpha-CD), and it reacts with platinum and palladium complexes to form the corresponding [5]rotaxanes containing four alpha-cyclodextrin moieties. Complexes without alpha-CD components form micelles in aqueous solution, while the addition of alpha-CD causes degradation of the micelles and the formation of rotaxanes.  相似文献

A boron difluoride formazanate dye that exhibits near‐infrared photoluminescence and electrochemiluminescence was produced via a straightforward two‐step synthesis. Examination of its solid‐state structure suggested that the N‐aryl substituents have significant quinoidal character, which narrows the S1–S0 energy gap and leads to the unique optoelectronic properties observed. Cyclic voltammetry studies revealed two oxidation waves and two reduction waves that were electrochemically reversible. Electrochemiluminescence properties were examined in the presence of tri‐n‐propylamine, leading to maximum intensity at 910 nm, at least 85 nm (1132 cm?1) red‐shifted compared to all other organic dyes. This work sets the stage for the development of future generations of dyes for emerging applications, including single‐cell imaging, that require near‐infrared photoluminescence and electrochemiluminescence.  相似文献

Surface modification with organic dye molecules is a useful strategy to manipulate the optical properties of lanthanide‐doped nanoparticles (LnNPs). It enables energy transfer between dyes and LnNPs, which provides unprecedented possibilities to gain new optical phenomena from the dye–LnNPs composite systems. This has led to a wide range of emerging applications, such as biosensing, drug delivery, gene targeting, information storage, and photon energy conversion. Herein, the mechanism of energy transfer and the structural‐dependent energy‐transfer properties in dye‐coupled LnNPs are reviewed. The design strategies for achieving effective dye–LnNP functionalization are presented. Recent advances in these composite nanomaterials in biomedicine and energy conversion applications are highlighted.  相似文献

Here we present the first synthesis of a [3]rotaxane with two dumbbell components threaded through a single gamma-cyclodextrin macrocycle. This synthesis is carried out in two steps: first one dumbbell is synthesized threaded through the macrocycle to give a [2]rotaxane, then a second dumbbell is synthesized through the remaining cavity of the [2]rotaxane. We have synthesized a hetero- [3]rotaxane with one stilbene and one cyanine dye threaded through gamma-cyclodextrin, which exhibits quantitative energy transfer between the two encapsulated dyes. The stilbene [2]rotaxane intermediate in this synthesis has a remarkably high affinity for suitably shaped hydrophobic guests in aqueous solution, facilitating the synthesis of [3]rotaxanes and suggesting possible applications in sensors.  相似文献

Precision phototheranostics, including photoacoustic imaging and photothermal therapy, requires stable photothermal agents. Developing such agents with high stability and high photothermal conversion efficiency (PTCE) remains a considerable challenge. Herein, we introduce a new photothermal agent based on water‐soluble quaterrylenediimide (QDI) that can self‐assemble into nanoparticles (QDI‐NPs) in aqueous solution. Incorporating polyethylene glycol (PEG) into the QDI core significantly enhances both physiological stability and biocompatibility of QDI‐NPs. The highly photostable QDI‐NPs offer advantages including intense absorption in the near‐infrared (NIR) and high PTCE of up to 64.7±4 %. This is higher than that of commercial indocyanine green (ICG). Their small size (ca. 10 nm) enables sustained retention in deep tumor sites and also proper clearance from the body. QDI‐NPs allow high‐resolution photoacoustic imaging and efficient 808 nm laser‐triggered photothermal therapy of cancer in vivo.  相似文献

We report the synthesis, crystallographic, optical, and triplet and singlet oxygen generation properties of a series of BF2‐rigidified partially closed chain bromotetrapyrroles as near infrared emitters and photosensitizers. These novel dyes were efficiently synthesized from a nucleophilic substitution reaction between pyrroles and the 3,5‐bromo‐substituents on the tetra‐ and hexabromoBODIPYs and absorb in the near‐infrared region (681–754 nm) with high molar extinction coefficients. Their fluorescent emission (708–818 nm) and singlet oxygen generation properties are significantly affected by alkyl substitutions on the two uncoordinated pyrrole units of these dyes and the polarity of solvents. Among them, dyes 4 ca and 4 da show good singlet oxygen generation efficiency and good NIR fluorescence emission (fluorescence quantum yields of 0.14–0.43 in different solvents studied).  相似文献

We report on the development of raspberry‐like silica structures formed by the adsorption of 8‐hydroxypyrene‐1,3,6‐trisulfonate (HPTS)@silica nanoparticles (NPs) on rhodamine B isothiocyanate (RBTIC)@silica NPs for ratiometric fluorescence‐based pH sensing. To overcome the well‐known problem of dye leaching which occurs during encapsulation of anionic HPTS dye in silica NPs, we utilized a polyelectrolyte‐assisted incorporation of the anionic HPTS. The morphological and optical characterization of the as‐synthesized dye‐doped NPs and the resulting nanohybrids were carried out. The pH‐sensitive dye, HPTS, incorporated in the HPTS‐doped silica NPs provided a pH‐dependent fluorescence response while the RBITC‐doped silica provided the reference signal for ratiometric sensing. We evaluated the effectiveness of the nanohybrids for pH sensing; the ratio of the fluorescence emission intensity at 510 nm and 583 nm at excitation wavelengths of 454 nm and 555 nm, respectively. The results showed a dynamic response in the acidic pH range. With this approach, nanohybrids containing different dyes or receptors could be developed for multifunctioning and multiplexing applications.  相似文献

By taking advantage of the fact that cucurbit[6]uril (CB[6]) forms exceptionally stable host–guest complexes with protonated amines, and that its homologue CB[8] can encapsulate a pair of electron‐rich and electron‐deficient guest molecules to form a stable 1:1:1 complex, we synthesized a novel dendritic [10]pseudorotaxane, or second‐generation rotaxane dendrimer (from a topological point of view), in which 13 molecular components are held together by noncovalent interactions. A triply branched molecule containing an electron‐deficient bipyridinium unit on each branch formed a branched [4]pseudorotaxane with 3 equivalents of CB[8]. Addition of 3 equivalents of 2,6‐dihydroxynaphthalene produced a first‐generation rotaxane dendrimer, which was characterized by NMR spectroscopy and CSI‐MS. The reaction of the branched [4]pseudorotaxane with 3 equivalents of a triply branched molecule that has an electron‐donor unit at one arm and CB[6]‐containing units at the other two gave the dendritic [10]pseudorotaxane, the structure of which was confirmed by NMR spectroscopy, UV/Vis titration experiments, and CSI‐MS.  相似文献

Photothermal therapy makes use of photothermal sensitizers and laser light to thermally ablate diseased tissues. Porphysome nanoparticles offer a nontoxic alternative to inorganic nanocrystals for the efficient conversion of light into heat. Mn3+ ions were incorporated directly into the building blocks of our porphysome nanoparticles, thus imparting MRI sensitivity while simultaneously improving photostability and maintaining high photothermal efficiency. Mn porphysomes are as photothermally effective as free‐base porphysomes and can rival gadolinium diethylenetriaminepentaacetate (Gd‐DTPA) for MRI contrast generation. Their MRI contrast generation, photothermal efficiency, and photostability are unprecedented for an all‐organic nanoparticle composed of a single functional component.  相似文献

We report a simple method for the photothermal welding of nonwoven mats of electrospun nanofibers by introducing a near‐infrared (NIR) dye such as indocyanine green. By leveraging the strong photothermal effect of the dye, the nanofibers can be readily welded at their cross points or even over‐welded (i.e., melted and/or fused together) to transform the porous mat into a solid film upon exposure to a NIR laser. While welding at the cross points greatly improves the mechanical strength of a nonwoven mat of nanofibers, melting and fusion of the nanofibers can be employed to fabricate a novel class of photothermal papers for laser writing or printing without chemicals or toner particles. By using a photomask, we can integrate photothermal welding with the gas foaming technique to pattern and then expand nonwoven mats into 3D scaffolds with well‐defined structures. This method can be applied to different combinations of polymers and dyes, if they can be co‐dissolved in a suitable solvent for electrospinning.  相似文献

A novel simplified method for synthesis of surface-enhanced Raman scattering tags has been reported. This synthesis method is based on reverse micelle technique using Igepal CO-520 as a surfactant and the mixed solution of silver nitrate and rhodamine dyes with isothiocyanate group as water pool followed by hydrazine hydrate reduction and TEOS polymerization leading to the formation of silica layer surrounding the silver core. Compared to the method reported in literature, the proposed methodology eliminates the necessity of vitrophilic pretreatment and makes it possible to complete all different processes including the preparation of silver nanoparticles, the conjugation of dye molecules and the formation of silica shell in the microreactor. The nanoparticle-based surface-enhanced Raman tags obtained are composed of silver core conjugated with rhodamine dyes and an encasing silica shell. Both the dyes themselves and the Ag/SiO2 core-shell nanoparticles without the encapsulation of dyes exhibit no Raman signals. However, the Ag/SiO2 core-shell nanoparticles exhibit strong Raman signals when encapsulated with these dyes. This is due to the appearance of fluorescence quenching and surface-enhanced Raman scattering effect resulting from the conjugation of dyes and silver core. The Raman tags were characterized using transmission electron microscopy (TEM), UV-visible absorption spectrometry, and Raman spectrometry.  相似文献

Organic nanoparticles consisting of 3,3′‐diethylthiacyanine (TC) and ethidium (ETD) dyes are synthesized by ion‐association between the cationic dye mixture (10 % ETD doping) and the tetrakis(4‐fluorophenyl)borate (TFPB) anion, in the presence of a neutral stabilizing polymer, in aqueous solution. Doping with ETD makes the particle size smaller than without doping. Size tuning can also be conducted by varying the molar ratio (ρ) of the loaded anion to the cationic dyes. The fluorescence spectrum of TC shows good overlap with the absorption of ETD in the 450–600 nm wavelength region, so efficient excitation‐energy transfer from TC (donor) to ETD (acceptor) is observed, yielding organic nanoparticles whose fluorescence colours are tunable. Upon ETD doping, the emission colour changes significantly from greenish‐blue to reddish or whitish. This change is mainly dependent on ρ. For the doped nanoparticle sample with ρ=1, the intensity of fluorescence ascribed to ETD is ~150‐fold higher than that from pure ETD nanoparticles (efficient antenna effect). Non‐radiative Förster resonance‐energy transfer (FRET) is the dominant mechanism for the ETD fluorescence enhancement. The organic nanoparticles of a binary dye system fabricated by the ion‐association method act as efficient light‐harvesting antennae, which are capable of transferring light energy to the dopant acceptors in very close proximity to the donors, and can have multi‐wavelength emission colours with high fluorescence quantum yields.  相似文献
