The influence of Casimir force on the nonlinear behavior of nanoscale electrostatic actuators is studied in this paper. A one degree of freedom mass-spring model is adopted and the bifurcation properties of the actuators are obtained. With the change of the geometrical dimensions, the number of equilibrium point varies from zero to two. Stability analysis shows that one equilibrium point is Hopf point and the other is unstable saddle point when there are two equilibrium points. We also obtain the phase portraits, in which the periodic orbits exist around the Hopf point, and a homoclinic orbit passes through the unstable saddle point.  相似文献

This paper presents a new neural network model for solving degenerate quadratic minimax (DQM) problems. On the basis of the saddle point theorem, optimization theory, convex analysis theory, Lyapunov stability theory and LaSalle invariance principle, the equilibrium point of the proposed network is proved to be equivalent to the optimal solution of the DQM problems. It is also shown that the proposed network model is stable in the sense of Lyapunov and it is globally convergent to an exact optimal solution of the original problem. Several illustrative examples are provided to show the feasibility and the efficiency of the proposed method in this paper.  相似文献

The paper presents a generalized statement of geometrically and physically nonlinear problem of the equilibrium of sandwich plate with transversally-soft core. Generalized statement is formulated as a problem of finding a saddle point of a functional. We investigate the properties of this functional. We are interested in numerical methods for approximating vector‐valued functions on a metric graph. As a model problem, we formulate and analyze a numerical method for the solution of the stationary problem for the one‐dimensional elastic stent model. The approximation is built using the mixed finite element method. The discretization matrix is a symmetric saddle‐point matrix, and we discuss sparse direct methods for the fast and robust solution of the associated equilibrium system. The convergence of the numerical method is proven and the error estimate is obtained. Numerical examples confirm the theoretical estimates.  相似文献

In this paper,a semiparametric two-sample density ratio model is considered and the empirical likelihood method is applied to obtain the parameters estimation.A commonly occurring problem in computing is that the empirical likelihood function may be a concaveconvex function.Here a simple Lagrange saddle point algorithm is presented for computing the saddle point of the empirical likelihood function when the Lagrange multiplier has no explicit solution.So we can obtain the maximum empirical likelihood estimation (MELE) of parameters.Monte Carlo simulations are presented to illustrate the Lagrange saddle point algorithm.  相似文献

In this paper, we study numerical approximations of a recently proposed phase fieldmodel for the vesicle membrane deformation governed by the variation of the elastic bend-ing energy. To overcome the challenges of high order nonlinear differential systems and thenonlinear constraints associated with the problem, we present the phase field bending elas-ticity model in a nested saddle point formulation. A mixed finite element method is thenemployed to compute the equilibrium configuration of a vesicle membrane with prescribedvolume and surface area. Coupling the approximation results for a related linearized prob-lem and the general theory of Brezzi-Rappaz-Raviart, optimal order error estimates for thefinite element approximations of the phase field model are obtained. Numerical results areprovided to substantiate the derived estimates.  相似文献

A pollution control problem from the employment and environmental policy point of view for a profit maximizing firm is studied. Two versions of the model are considered: model A with emission certificates and model B with environmental standards. The nature of the optimal solution for both a static and a dynamic model is analyzed and an economic interpretation is given. Using the theory of optimal control it can be shown that along the optimal path the increasing expenditure in pollution control is accompanied by an increasing stock of employees. The saddle point property of the equilibrium is established and the relation between the level of pollution in the stationary state and the charge per unit of effluents is derived. A sensitivity analysis of equilibrium values with respect to the changes in the parameters of the model is presented.  相似文献

We consider a class of regular–singular stochastic differential games arising in the optimal investment and dividend problem of an insurer under model uncertainty. The information available to the two players is asymmetric partial information and the control variable of each player consists of two components: regular control and singular control. We establish the necessary and sufficient optimality conditions for the saddle point of the zero-sum game. Then, as an application, these conditions are applied to an optimal investment and dividend problem of an insurer under model uncertainty. Furthermore, we generalize our results to the nonzero-sum regular–singular game with asymmetric information, and then the Nash equilibrium point is characterized.  相似文献

In this paper, a class of generalized shift-splitting preconditioners with two shift parameters are implemented for nonsymmetric saddle point problems with nonsymmetric positive definite (1, 1) block. The generalized shift-splitting (GSS) preconditioner is induced by a generalized shift-splitting of the nonsymmetric saddle point matrix, resulting in an unconditional convergent fixed-point iteration. By removing the shift parameter in the (1, 1) block of the GSS preconditioner, a deteriorated shift-splitting (DSS) preconditioner is presented. Some useful properties of the DSS preconditioned saddle point matrix are studied. Finally, numerical experiments of a model Navier–Stokes problem are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed preconditioners.  相似文献

A model of the interaction between a violator of a frontier and a sentry guarding it using a certain detection device is considered. The efficiency of the device depends on the moment in time at which it is applied. The interaction between a sentry and a violator of a frontier is formally described by an antagonistic game that has no saddle point in pure strategies in cases of practical interest. The search for equilibrium in mixed strategies is reduced to a maximin problem that is solved using the equalization principle.  相似文献

In this paper we introduce some notions of well-posedness for scalar equilibrium problems in complete metric spaces or in Banach spaces. As equilibrium problem is a common extension of optimization, saddle point and variational inequality problems, our definitions originates from the well-posedness concepts already introduced for these problems.We give sufficient conditions for two different kinds of well-posedness and show by means of counterexamples that these have no relationship in the general case. However, together with some additional assumptions, we show via Ekeland’s principle for bifunctions a link between them.Finally we discuss a parametric form of the equilibrium problem and introduce a well-posedness concept for it, which unifies the two different notions of well-posedness introduced in the first part.  相似文献
