Multiplicity of Forced Oscillations on Manifolds and Applications to Motion Problems with One-Dimensional Constraints

This paper illustrates how the notion of an ejecting set recently introduced by the authors can be used to get multiplicity results for forced oscillations. The motion problem of a mass point constrained to a one-dimensional differentiable manifold and acted on by a periodic force is treated in detail.

This note is an addendum to the results of Lazer and Frederickson [1], and Lazer [4] on periodic oscillations, with linear part at resonance. We show that a small modification of the argument in [4] provides a more general result. It turns out that things are different for the corresponding Dirichlet boundary value problem.

Periodic solutions of conservation laws constructed through Glimm scheme

We present a periodic version of the Glimm scheme applicable to special classes of systems for which a simplication first noticed by Nishida (1968) and further extended by Bakhvalov (1970) and DiPerna (1973) is available. For these special classes of systems of conservation laws the simplification of the Glimm scheme gives global existence of solutions of the Cauchy problem with large initial data in , for Bakhvalov's class, and in , in the case of DiPerna's class. It may also happen that the system is in Bakhvalov's class only at a neighboorhood of a constant state, as it was proved for the isentropic gas dynamics by DiPerna (1973), in which case the initial data is taken in with , for some constant which is for the isentropic gas dynamics systems. For periodic initial data, our periodic formulation establishes that the periodic solutions so constructed, , are uniformly bounded in , for all 0$">, where is the period. We then obtain the asymptotic decay of these solutions by applying a theorem of Chen and Frid in (1999) combined with a compactness theorem of DiPerna in (1983). The question about the decay of Nishida's solution was proposed by Glimm and Lax in (1970) and has remained open since then. The classes considered include the -systems with , , , which, for , model isentropic gas dynamics in Lagrangian coordinates.

通过差分方程指数二分法,我们研究了一类具有变系数逐段常变量微分方程组概周期与伪概周期解的存在唯一性与渐近稳定性,改进了已有文献的结果,并且得到了差分方程满足指数二分性的一个充分条件．     

泛函微分方程的全局稳定周期解

本文综合运用相空间理论，泛函分析方法和李雅普诺夫第二方法，研究具无限时滞的泛函微分方程周期解的存在性，唯一性和稳定性问题，得到了新的结果．     

Recurrent solutions of the derivative Ginzburg–Landau equation with boundary forces

In this paper, we will establish the existence of the bounded solutions, periodic solutions, quasi-periodic solutions and almost periodic solutions for the derivative Ginzburg–Landau equation with time-dependent boundary external forces. A smoothing effect for the semigroup associated with linear Ginzburg–Landau operator is the crucial tool in establishing the main results.     

Note on periodic solutions of fractional differential equations

The existence and nonexistence of periodic solutions are discussed for fractional differential equations by varying the lower limits of Caputo derivatives. The developed approach is illustrated on several examples.

Bounded and Almost Periodic Solutions of Linear High-Order Hyperbolic Equations

The present paper is devoted to investigating high-order strictly hyperbolic operators with nearly constant coefficients. The invertibility of these operators in spaces of functions uniformly bounded or almost periodic in time is established, provided the symbol of the operator in question has no roots in an open strip containing the real line. Under the additional condition that the strip coincides with a half-plane, exponentially decaying solutions of the nonhomogeneous equation with right-hand side of exponential decay are constructed. In the case of equations with constant coefficients the necessity of the derived conditions is proved. The results of this paper were announced without proofs in [SV].     

On the Solution Sets of Constrained Differential Inclusions with Applications

We study the existence and the structure of solutions to differential inclusions with constraints. We show that the set of all viable solutions to the Cauchy problem for a Carathéodory-type differential inclusion in a closed domain is an R -set provided some mild boundary conditions expressed in terms of functional constraints defining the domain are satisfied. Presented results generalize most of the existing ones. Some applications to the existence of periodic solutions as well as equilibria are given.     

Matrix measure on time scales and almost periodic analysis of the impulsive Lasota–Wazewska model with patch structure and forced perturbations

In this paper, a new impulsive Lasota–Wazewska model with patch structure and forced perturbed terms is proposed and analyzed on almost periodic time scales. For this, we introduce the concept of matrix measure on time scales and obtain some of its properties. Then, sufficient conditions are established which ensure the existence and exponential stability of positive almost periodic solutions of the proposed biological model. Our results are new even when the time scale is almost periodic, in particular, for periodic time scales on or . An example is given to illustrate the theory. Recurrent solutions of the linearly coupled complex cubic‐quintic Ginzburg‐Landau equations

In this paper, we will establish the bounded solutions, periodic solutions, quasiperiodic solutions, almost periodic solutions, and almost automorphic solutions for linearly coupled complex cubic‐quintic Ginzburg‐Landau equations, under suitable conditions. The main difficulty is the nonlinear terms in the equations that are not Lipschitz‐continuity, traditional methods cannot deal with the difficulty in our problem. We overcome this difficulty by the Galerkin approach, energy estimate method, and refined inequality technique.     

Dynamic analysis of a non-autonomous ratio-dependent predator-prey model with additional food

In this paper, a non-autonomous ratio-dependent three species predator-prey system with additional food to top predator was proposed. The permanence of the model is obtained. Based on the continuation theorem, the sufficient conditions for the existence of a periodic solution are obtained. By using the method of Lyapunov function, we prove that the system exists a unique positive almost periodic solution under some certain conditions.
