Chromium(III)-phosphate reactions are expected to be important in managing high-level radioactive wastes stored in tanks at many DOE sites. Extensive studies on the solubility of amorphous Cr(III) solids in a wide range of pH (2.8–14) and phosphate concentrations (10–4 to 1.0 m) at room temperature (22±2)°C were carried out to obtain reliable thermodynamic data for important Cr(III)-phosphate reactions. A combination of techniques (XRD, XANES, EXAFS, Raman spectroscopy, total chemical composition, and thermodynamic analyses of solubility data) was used to characterize solid and aqueous species. Contrary to the data recently reported in the literature,(1) only a limited number of aqueous species [Cr(OH)3H2PO4, Cr(OH)3(H2PO4)2–2), and Cr(OH)3HPO2–4] with up to about four orders of magnitude lower values for the formation constants of these species are required to explain Cr(III)-phosphate reactions in a wide range of pH and phosphate concentrations. The log Ko values of reactions involving these species [Cr(OH)3(aq)+H2PO4⇌Cr(OH)3H2PO4; Cr(OH)3(aq)+2H2PO4⇌Cr(OH)3(H2PO4)2–2; Cr(OH)3(aq)+HPO2–4⇌Cr(OH)3HPO2–4] were found to be 2.78±0.3, 3.48±0.3, and 1.97±0.3, respectively.  相似文献

Oxidation of (+)-sabinol, (1S,3R,5S)-1-isopropyl-4-methylidenebicyclo[3.1.0]hexan-3-ol, by active MnO2 afforded not the expected sabinone but only its [4+2]-cyclodimer. The molecular structure of the latter was established by X-ray diffraction analysis. The 1H and 13C NMR spectra of this cyclodimer were interpreted using 2D NMR spectroscopy.  相似文献

Basic tellurium nitrate crystallizes in the space group Pnma witha=14.607 (1),b=8.801 (1), andc=4.4633 (4) Å. Full-matrix least-squares refinement of automatic diffractometer data converged to a residualR=0.036 (R w =0.046) for 899 independent reflections. A detailed analysis of the structural data leads us to reformulate this compound as (Te2O4H)+(NO3) with a basic structural element consisting of a charged two-dimensional puckered Te2O4H+ network with discrete NO3 anions, an example of apositively-charged network structure.

Zusammenfassung Basisches Telluriumnitrat kristallisiert in der Raumgruppe Pnma mita=14,607 (1),b=8,801 (1) undc=4,4633 (4) Å. Die verfeinernde Auswertung der Diffraktometerdaten konvergierte zuR=0,036 (R w =0.046) für 899 unabhängige Reflexe. Eine detaillierte Analyse der Strukturdaten führte zu einer Umformulierung dieser Verbindung als (Te2O4H)+(NO3), wobei die Basisstruktur aus einem geladenen, zweidimensionalen, gefalteten Te2O4H+ Netzwerk mit getrennten NO3 Anionen besteht. Es stellt dies ein Beispiel einerpositiv geladenen Netzstruktur dar.

A synthesis is reported for (4R,5R)-and (4S,5S)-4-hydroxymethyl-5-(4-nitrophenyl)oxazolidin-2-ones and (1′R,4R)-and (1′S,4S)-4-[hydroxy(4-nitrophenyl)methyl]oxazolidin-2-ones from (1R,2R)-and (1S,2S)-2-amino-1-(4-nitrophenyl)-1,3-propanediols. A novel tetradentate N2O2 type Schiff base, synthesized from 1-phenyl-2,3-dimethyl-4-aminopyrazol-5-one(4-aminoantipyrine) and 3-salicylidene-acetylacetone, forms stable complexes with transition metal ions such as Cu II , Ni II , Co II and Zn II in ethanol. Microanalytical data, magnetic susceptibility, IR, UV-Vis.,1H-NMR, ESR and Mass spectral techniques were used to confirm the structures. Electronic absorption spectra of the complexes suggest a square-planar geometry around the central metal ion. These complexes show higher conductance values, supporting their electrolytic nature. The monomeric nature of the complexes was confirmed from their magnetic susceptibility values. Cyclic voltammogram of the copper(II) and nickel(II) complexes in DMSO solution at 300 K were recorded and the results are discussed. The X-band ESR spectra of the copper complex were recorded and the molecular orbital coefficient values were calculated from the spectra. The in vitro antimicrobial activities of the investigated compounds were tested against bacteria such as Klebsiella pneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia coli and fungi like Aspergillus niger and Rhizoctonia bataicola. Most of the metal chelates show higher antimicrobial activity for the above microorganisms than that of the free ligand.  相似文献

The reaction of (1S,2S)-2-amino-1-(4-nitrophenyl)-1,3-propanediol with glutaraldehyde has been studied. It has been established on the basis of AM1 and PM3 calculations and 1H NMR spectra recorded in the presence of the shift reagent Eu(fod)3 that (1S,3S,4S,7R,11R)-3-(4-nitrophenyl)-11-aza-2,6-dioxatricyclo[5,3,1,04,11]undecane is formed as the result of the reaction.  相似文献

Mo2Cl4 Pic 4·CHCl3 (A) (Pic=4-methylpyridine) and Mo2Br4 Pic 4 (B) crystallize in the monoclinic space group.A inC2/c (No. 15) witha=15.175 (4),b=10.847 (2),c=19.946 (6) and =104.52 (2)°;D o=1.71 (2),D c =1.72 gcm–3 forZ=4.B inP2l/n (No. 14) witha=9.270 (3),b=16.614 (5),c=9.305 (3) and =91.96 (5)°;D o=2.03 (3),D c =2.05 gcm–3 forZ=2.Two halogens and 4-methylpyridines of the MoX 2 Pic 2 group are in the trans position. Mo–Mo bond lengths are 2.153 96) forA and 2.150 92) forB. Both molecules are situated on the inversion center resulting in the eclipsed configuration of the ligands around the molybdenum pair. The structure ofB has been refined to the conventionalR factors of 0.08 and 0.098. Disorder on the part of 4-methylpyridines and chloroform molecules stopped the refinement ofA at the endR value of 0.175.Mean Mo–X and Mo–N bonding distances are 2.40 (2), 2.25 (5) forA and 2.53 (3), 2.25 (1) forB.

Two new compounds of the AxMOXO4 family, β-LiVOAsO4 and β-VOAsO4, have been synthesized by solid state reaction and electrochemical lithium deintercalation from β-LiVOAsO4, respectively. Both compounds are isostructural and are built like other β-VOXO4 (X=S, P) by (VO5) chains of distorted VO6 octahedra connected via corner-shared AsO4 tetrahedra. For β-LiVOAsO4 the additional Li+ ions occupy chains of edge-shared octahedra running perpendicularly to the (VO5) chains. The one-dimensional antiferromagnetic behavior suggested by the structure has been experimentaly confirmed. It is shown that lithium deintercalation occurs through a first-order transition at 4.02 V vs Li+/Li0. From chemical bond considerations it is shown why the redox potential of a given transition element M in a six-fold coordination involving (M=O)m+ units lies between those observed in oxides and in M2(XO4)3 compounds with (XO4)n oxo anions (X=S, P, As).  相似文献

The oscillator strengths of the symmetry-forbidden transitions of the ion [PdCl4]2– were calculated by a method based on the evaluation of the MO of the distorted ion. It is not very likely that the transition to1 B 1g (a 1g (d z 2)b 1g ) state, weak, mainlyz polarized, explains the band that appears as a shoulder observed towards 30 000 cm–1 in the absorption spectrum. If this band is specific of the ion [PdCl4]2–, the assignment to the forbidden charge-transfer transition,1 A 1g 1 B 2g , is more plausible.

A reverse phase HPLC method was developed and validated for the simultaneous determination of 2-hydroxy-4-methoxybenzaldehyde and 2-hydroxy-4-methoxybenzoic acid in the root extracts of Hemidesmus indicus. A comprehensive validation of the method including sensitivity, linearity, reproducibility, accuracy, limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) was conducted using the optimized chromatographic conditions. The method was found to be linear (r > 0.998) in the range of 5–350 μg mL−1 for 2-hydroxy-4-methoxybenzaldehyde and for 2-hydroxy-4-methoxybenzoic acid (r > 0.999) in the range 10–300 μg mL−1. The method was found to be precise with inter-day precision values (% RSD) in the ranges of 0.61–1.76% for 2-hydroxy-4-methoxybenzaldehyde and 1.3–2.8% for 2-hydroxy-4-ethoxybenzoic acid while intra-day precisions (% RSD) of two analytes were in the range of 0.41–1.07 and 0.95–2.5%. The limits of detection (LODs) for 2-hydroxy-4-methoxybenzaldehyde and 2-hydroxy-4-methoxybenzoic acid were 0.84 and 2.34 μg mL−1. The described method was fast, sensitive and reproducible, and thus well suited for routine analysis of these two compounds from root extracts of H. indicus and other plants.  相似文献

Summary Theoretical calculation of95Mo-NMR chemical shifts for [MoO4–n S n ]2– (n=0–4) compounds is reported here for the first time on the basis of Fenske-Hall method and Sum-Over-State (SOS) perturbation theory. A systematic decrease in shielding of95Mo nuclei with increase of number of sulfur in [MoO4–n S n ]2–, which is observed experimentally, can be reasonably explained by our calculation. A good linear relationship between chemical shifts of calculation and experiment is obtained. N4-Methyl-4-nitrobenzaldehyde thiosemicarbazone (H4NO2Fo4M), N4-methyl-4-nitrobenzophenone thiosemicarbazone (H4NO2Bz4M) and their ruthenium(II) complexes [Ru(4NO2Fo4M)2(PPh3)2] (1), [Ru(4NO2Bz4M)2(PPh3)2] (2), [Ru(4NO2Fo4M)2(dppb)] (3) and [Ru(4NO2Bz4M)2(dppb)] (4) (dppb = 1,4-bis(diphenylphospine)butane) were obtained and characterized. The crystal structure of H4NO2Fo4M has been determined. Electrochemical studies have shown that the nitro anion radical, one of the proposed intermediates in the mechanism of action of nitro-containing anti-trypanosomal drugs, is formed at approximately −1.00 V in the free thiosemicarbazones as well as in their corresponding ruthenium(II) complexes, suggesting their potential to act as antitrypanosomal drugs. The natural fluorescence of H4NO2Fo4M, H4NO2Bz4M and complexes (1)–(4) provides a way to identify and to monitor their concentration in biological systems.  相似文献

Summary A new series of thiophenic isosters of thioxanthones, namely: 2-substituted-4H-thieno[2,3-b][1]benzothiopyran-4-ones and 5-substituted-2-nitro-8-methyl-4H-thieno[2,3-b][1]benzothiopyran-4-ones were synthesized as potential schistosomicidal agents. The hitherto unknown compound Ca3Ga4O9 was prepared and investigated by X-ray single crystal methods. Ca3Ga4O9 has orthorhombic symmetry:a=1435.8;b=1682.5;c=532.1 pm; space group C 2v 11 –Cmm2,Z=6. The tetrahedra network (circles of 4 and 5 GaO4-tetrahedra) and the surrounding of Ca2+ are described and discussed with respect to other oxogallates.

The crystal and molecular structures of the 3′,5′-di-O-acetyl-N(4)-hydroxy-2′-deoxycytidine molecule and its 5-fluoro congener have been determined by X-ray single crystal diffraction. The 3′,5′-di-O-acetyl-N(4)-hydroxy-5-fluoro-2′-deoxycytidine molecule crystallizes in the space group C2 with the following unit cell parameters: a = 21.72 Å, b = 8.72 Å, c = 8.61 Å, and β = 90.42. 3′,5′-di-O-acetyl-N(4)-hydroxy-2′-deoxycytidine also belongs to the monoclinic space group C2 and the unit cell parameters are: a = 39.54 Å, b = 8.72 Å, c = 22.89 Å, and β = 95.26. The non-fluorine analogue demonstrates a rare example of crystal structure with five symmetry-independent molecules in the unit cell. All the molecules in both crystal structures have the sugar residue anti oriented with respect to the base, as well as have the N(4)-OH residue in cis conformation relatively to the N(3)-nitrogen atom. In addition to the molecular geometries from X-ray experiment, the optimized molecular geometries have been obtained with the use of theoretical ab initio calculations at the RHF/6-31G(d) level. The corresponding geometric parameters in the molecules of 3′,5′-di-O-acetyl-N(4)-hydroxy-2′-deoxycytidine and its 5-fluoro congener have been compared. The differences including the C(5)=C(6) bond shortening and C(4)—C(5)—C(6) angle widening in the fluorine analogue are discussed in this paper in relation to the molecular mechanism of enzyme, thymidylate synthase, inhibition by N(4)-hydroxy-2′-deoxycytidine monophosphate and its 5-fluoro congener.  相似文献

The reactions of substituted 3-cinnamoyl-4-hydroxycoumarins and 3-cinnamoyl-4-hydroxy-2-quinolones with different phenylhydrazines gave 3-hetaryl-1H-4,5-dihydropyrazoles. The product structures were studied by 1H NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. 4-Hydroxy-3-pyrazo-linylcoumarins exist in DMSO as two tautomers (4-enol and chromane-2,4-dione), while 4-hydroxy-3-pyrazolinyl-2-quinolones exist only in the enol form. The Raman spectra of N2O4 solutions in organic solvents have been recorded. The frequencies ofv 1,v 2, andv 3 bands of N2O4 increase with increasing solvent electron-donor properties. Especially large changes ofv 3 N-N stretching band have been observed (254.5 cm–1 in n-hexane, 276.5 cm–1 in 1,4-dioxane). The ab initio calculations have shown that the interaction between N2O4 and electron-donor molecules causes an increase of N-N and N-O stretching and O-N-O bending force constants of N2O4 in agreement with the results of Raman study.  相似文献

The behaviour of 1-(2-bromoethyl) 4-nitrobenzene (1), N,N,N-triethyl-2-(4-nitrophenyl)ethanaminium bromide (2) and N,N-diethyl-N-[2-(4-nitrophenyl)ethyl]octan-1-aminium bromide (3) in the OH-induced elimination reactions with formation of 1-nitro-4-vinylbenzene in mixtures of DMSO/H2O or CH3CN/H2O has been investigated. With all three substrates an increase in dipolar aprotic solvent content implies a limited increase of the second-order rate constant k OH up to ≅605, and then an exponential increase is observed. The variation of activation parameters ΔH # and dGS #, measured in DMSO/H2O mixtures, is parallel for 1 and 2. This similar behaviour of 1 and 2 with respect to variation in solvent composition is evidence that it is not possible to use this technique of solvent effect for the mechanistic diagnosis of elimination reactions.  相似文献
