The problem of the laminar boundary layer formed on the surface of a semiinfinite plate with a perpendicular semi-infinite circular cylinder in a uniform steady incompressible flow normal to the leading edge is considered. Near its sharp edge the plate has a stationary part and, located at a finite distance further downstream, a part of the surface moving downstream at a constant velocity. The first-order boundary layer equations are solved numerically by an implicit finite-difference method. The effect of the moving wall on the variation of the dimensions of the separation zone ahead of the obstacle over a broad range of the governing parameters and flow characteristics is investigated. The flow in the laminar boundary layer on the surface of a plate ahead of such an obstacle was calculated in [1, 2] without motion of the wall. Data on the structure of the separated flow are given in [3].Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 6, pp. 49–53, November–December, 1990.  相似文献

We consider a plane steady flow of incompressible fluid in the boundary layer which develops on a surface moving downstream. We obtain a singular solution of Prandtl's equations, continuously extendable through the simultaneous vanishing point of the friction and the longitudinal velocity vector component. Such a solution is realized, in particular, in a flow past a rotating circular cylinder.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 2, pp. 43–52, March–April, 1987.The author thanks A. We consider the flow formed by the interaction of a supersonic flow and a transverse sonic or supersonic jet blown at right angles to the direction of the main flow through a nozzle whose exit section is in a flat wall. When a gas jet is blown through a circular opening [1] the pressure rises in front of the jet because of the stagnation of the oncoming flow. This leads to separation of the boundary layer formed on the wall in front of the blowing nozzle. The resulting three-dimensional separation zone leads to a sharp increase in the pressure and the heat fluxes to the wall in front of the blowing nozzle, which is undesirable in many modern applications. The aim of the present investigation was to find a shape of the exit section of the blowing nozzle for which there is no three-dimensional separation zone of the boundary layer in front of the blowing nozzle.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 3, pp. 162–165, May–June, 1979.  相似文献

The results are given of the calculation of a three-dimensional boundary layer on a triangular plate of finite length in a regime of strong viscous interaction with an external hypersonic stream for both symmetric flow as well as in the presence of an angle of slip. The influence of the change in the pressure on the trailing edge of the plate on the boundary layer characteristics is investigated.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 5, pp. 46–52, September–October, 1982.  相似文献

A flow pattern created by the interaction of a supersonic flow with a transverse sonic or supersonic jet injected normally to the direction of the main flow through a circular aperture in a plate is considered. The pressure rises in front of the jet owing to the retarding action of the incident flow. The boundary layer building up on the wall in front of the injection nozzle is accordingly detached. The flow pattern in the region of interaction between the jet and the external flow is illustrated in Fig. 1. The three-dimensional zone of detachment thus formed deflects the incident flow from the wall, and in front of the jet a complicated system of sharp jumps in contraction develops. A three-dimensional system of jumps also develops in the jet itself.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No, 5, pp. 193–197, September–October, 1970.  相似文献

The flow structure around the free-end region of two adjacent finite circular cylinders embedded in an atmospheric boundary layer (ABL) was investigated experimentally. The experiments were carried out in a closed-return-type subsonic wind tunnel, in which two finite cylinders with an aspect ratio of 6 were mounted vertically on a flat plate in a side-by-side arrangement. The Reynolds number based on the cylinder diameter was about Re=2×104. Systems with gap ratios (i.e., center-to-center distance/cylinder diameter) in the range 1.0–2.0 were investigated. A hot-wire anemometer was employed to measure the wake velocity, and the mean pressure distribution on the cylinder surface was also measured. The flow past two finite cylinders was found to have a complicated three-dimensional wake structure in the region near the free ends. As the gap ratio increases, regular vortex-shedding becomes dominant, but the length of the vortex formation region decreases. The pressure distribution and flow structure around two cylinders were found to differ substantially from the behavior of a two-dimensional circular cylinder due to mutual interference. The three-dimensional flow structure seems to originate from the strong entrainment of irrotational fluids caused by the downwash counter-rotating vortices separated from the finite cylinder (FC) free ends.  相似文献

The study considers plane steady flow of an incompressible fluid around a circular cylinder rotating in a homogeneous free stream. On the basis of an asymptotic analysis of the Navier-Stokes equations for high Reynolds numbers, it is shown that at a certain value of the angular velocity of the cylinder an interaction arises between the flow in the boundary layer and the external potential flow. A solution is obtained numerically which describes the flow in the region of interaction.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 5, pp. 36–45, September–November, 1987.  相似文献

It is shown that the concept of a viscous shock layer with boundary conditions specified in a thin shock wave is unsuitable for analyzing the flow of a chemically reacting gas, even in the case of high Reynolds numbers; it may produce a finite error when determining the parameters of the shock layer.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 5, pp. 175–178, September–October, 1973.  相似文献

The results of a numerical experiment to determine the damping of the free axisymmetric oscillations of a viscous incompressible liquid partly filling a right circular cylinder are presented. The experiment was carried out for Reynolds numbers at the lower limit of applicability of the laminar boundary layer approximation and for the case of finite oscillation amplitude. The influence of nonlinear effects on estimates of the logarithmic decrement is discussed at the quantitative level.Tomsk. There have been many theoretical studies of aspects of the unsteady interaction of an exterior inviscid flow with a boundary layer [1–9]. The mathematical flow models obtained in these studies by the method of matched asymptotic expansions describe a wide range of phenomena observed experimentally. These include boundary layer separation near the hinge of a flap, the flow in the neighborhood of the trailing edge of an oscillating airfoil [1–2], and the development and propagation of perturbations in a boundary layer excited by an oscillating wall or some other way [3–5]. The present paper studies the interaction of an unsteady boundary layer with a supersonic flow when a small part of the surface of a body in the flow is rapidly heated.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 1, pp. 66–70, January–February, 1984.  相似文献

The flow arising in an incompressible liquid if, at the initial moment of time, a plate of finite length starts to move with a constant velocity in its plane, is discussed. For the case of an infinite plate, there is a simple exact solution of the Navier—Stokes equations, obtained by Rayleigh. The case of the motion of a semiinfinite plate has also been discussed by a number of authors. Approximate solutions have been obtained in a number of statements; for the complete unsteadystate equations of the boundary layer the statement was investigated by Stewartson (for example, [1–3]); a numerical solution of the problem by an unsteady-state method is given in [4]. The main stress in the present work is laid on investigation of the region of the interaction between a nonviscous flow and the boundary layer near the end of a plate. In passing, a solution of the problem is obtained for a wake, and a new numerical solution is also given for the boundary layer at the plate.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 2, pp. 3–8, March–April, 1977.  相似文献

The problem of separationless flow of homogeneous dilute polymer solutions over two-dimensional profiles is considered. The complete flow is divided by the outer edge of the boundary layer and the wake into two regions: a region of irrotational flow and a region of viscous flow — the boundary layer and wake. The characteristics of the two regions are matched at their boundary. The problem is solved by successive approximation with allowance for the mutual influence of the two regions on each other. The influence of the irrotational region on the viscous region is taken into account through the distribution of the pressure on the boundary of the wake and the boundary layer. The influence of the viscous part of the flow is taken into account by the introduction of an associated vortex whose intensity is equal to the integral of the vorticity in the complete viscous region, and also by the introduction of additional velocities on the boundary of the wake and the boundary layer. These deform the streamlines in the irrotational part of the flow and ensure that they match the flow pattern in the real fluid. The results of the calculations of the hydrodynamic characteristics of a Zhukovskii profile are compared with experimental data. The influence of the introduction into the flow of polymer additives on the distributed and total characteristics of the flow at a number of Reynolds numbers is analyzed for the example of the modified profile NACA66.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 6, pp. 35–41, October–December, 1981.  相似文献

The steady flow of a viscous incompressible fluid at high Reynolds numbers near a body of revolution of finite length whose radius coincides in order of magnitude with the thickness of the boundary layer is considered. The structure of the boundary layer in the neighborhood of the rear end of the body is investigated on the assumption that it has a power-law shape with values of the exponent n 1/2. A solution is also obtained for the near wake.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 5, pp. 10–18, September–October, 1990.  相似文献

It is shown experimentally that under certain conditions the boundary layer flow on a smooth circular cylinder sinsusoidally oscillating along its own axis loses stability and becomes quasiturbulent. The critical values of the corresponding dimensionless numbers are presented.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 4, pp. 26–31, July–August, 1988.The author is grateful to E. The asymptotic solutions of the self-similar equations of two- and three-dimensional boundary layers have been investigated by many authors (see, for example, [1–3]). In [4, 5], asymptotic solutions were found for non-self-similar equations for two-dimensional flow, and the propagation of perturbations near the external edge of the boundary layer was analyzed. In the present paper, asymptotic solutions are obtained for the non-self-similar equations of a three-dimensional laminar boundary layer of an incompressible fluid. It is shown that the conclusion drawn in [5] — that the boundary conditions can be transferred from infinity to a finite distance from the wall — is also true for three-dimensional flow. The obtained solutions explain the experimentally well-known phenomenon of the conservativeness of the secondary currents. The essence of this phenomenon is that a change in the sign of the transverse (along the normal to a streamline of the external flow) pressure gradient is accompanied by a very rapid change in the direction of the secondary flow near the wall, whereas in the upper layers of the boundary layer the direction remains unchanged for a substantial time.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 5, pp. 155–157, September–October, 1979.  相似文献

Semiempirical expressions are proposed for the coefficient of turbulent viscosity and for the scale of turbulence in the equations for the free turbulent boundary layer in an incompressible fluid, these equations consisting of the equation of continuity, the equations of motion, and the equation for the average energy balance in the turbulent pulsations. The advantage of the expressions over the existing ones is that the two empirical constants in the equations have nearly the same values for circular and plane turbulent streams and also for a turbulent boundary layer at the edge of a semiinfinite homogeneous flow with a stationary fluid. The mean-energy distribution and the mean energy of the turbulent pulsations computed in this paper agree well with the experimental values.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 6, pp. 75–79, November–December, 1970.  相似文献

We examine unsteady incompressible fluid flow in a laminar boundary layer with uniform suction for longitudinal flow over a flat plate when the external stream is a flow with constant velocity, on which there is superposed a sinusoidal disturbance convected by the stream, analogous to [1]. We study the stability of such flow in the boundary layer.Translated from Zhurnal Prikladnoi Mekhaniki i Tekhnicheskoi Fiziki, Vol. 11, No. 3, pp. 66–70, May–June, 1970.  相似文献

An introduction to the classical Prandtl equation of the additional factor which takes account of the effect of molecular velocity -the damping factor — enables us to describe the process of flow in the transition sector of the boundary region of a turbulent boundary layer by relying on the model of interaction of molecular and molar momentum exchange between the layers of averaged turbulent motion. The application of not only the universal forms of physical variables but also special conservative variables, the connection between which does not depend on the conditions on the outer edge of the boundary layer, widens the opportunities for applying the method to the boundary region of the gradient boundary layer. The comparatively laborious nature of the calculation from the conservative equations brought about the introduction of much simpler but at the same time fairly accurate approximation equations. The content of the article was delivered at a session of the Sixth All-Union Congress on Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, Tashkent, 24–30 September, 1986.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 5, pp. 46–53, September–October, 1987.  相似文献
