It is proposed that the linear semi-log relation of water content to soil strength be used as a means of identifying and classifying soils. The relation can be specified by two parameters proposed to be named trafficability limit and strength index. Together these two parameters will provide more useful information about a soil for the conduct and analysis of traction and mobility testing than any other classification system now in use. The parameters also have potential for additional correlations with measures of soil behavior in dynamic testing. Data are presented to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposal.  相似文献

The paper presents a selection of graphical techniques for the rapid analysis of the complex non-linear equations describing the penetration performance of drop-indenters in terms of the Mohr-Coulomb strength parameters of a soil. Charts are presented for the evaluation of these parameters from two simple identation measurements. The strength prediction performance of these charts is not particularly good when compared with values obtained off established and more elaborate laboratory methods. However, the attractive feature of the proposed technique is its extreme simplicity and speed of operation. In the solution of many practical soil-machine mechanics problems an order of magnitude estimate of soil strength is usually adequate. It would therefore appear that further refinement of the methods described would be warranted for use in such applications.  相似文献

The present work describes the development of a novel robotic vane shear test tool for characterization of soil parameters with high precision and accuracy. The tool automates industrial standards for testing procedures. The proposed system is capable of performing high resolution torque measurements, which are then used to estimate the shear strength of the soil. The design of the instrument and its advantages over traditional manual instruments are discussed, after which error sources, calibration, and test procedures are described. The developed tool was successfully validated against high-end commercial equipment. The built unit was employed for characterizing mine waste in a laboratory setting and also deployed in the field on board an Unmanned Ground Vehicle for remote soil characterization.  相似文献

根据人工冻土力学性能的特点和试验规程,研究在同一台试验机上,设计出冻土单轴抗压强度试验和单轴蠕变强度试验的微机控制系统,系统设置了应力控制加载、应变控制加载和蠕变试验三个独立系统,并可以根据人为要求设定试验参数和微机控制试验;系统记录了全部试验数据,设置了查询、报表和图形等输出功能。文中介绍了冻土试验微机控制系统的关键技术,给出了冻土试验实例,对冻土力学性能的研究以及冻土试验机研制有较好的参考价值。  相似文献

提供一种用于测量软煤或土的抗拉强度、拉伸应力 应变关系等拉伸特性的实验装置.利用模具压制出均匀的煤环试件,对煤环内壁施加均布径向水压力使其拉伸变形和破坏.根据实验结果,提出了弹脆性拉断破坏的理论模型,并据此对煤的抗拉强度、弹性常数以及等效孔隙压力系数等进行了分析和讨论.实验数据稳定可靠,散布小,重复性好,说明所提供的实验装置和实验方法简单而有效.  相似文献

This paper reviews experimental methods for the conversion of cone index measurements to bevameter parameters in support of vehicle soil/tire/track interactions for two general soil types, sand and lean clay. The accurate prediction of traction, motion resistance, and sinkage of tire/tracks off-road requires estimates of soil strength. Equipment used in the measurement of soil strength to support predictions of off-road mobility include the bevameter and the cone penetrometer. The portability of the cone penetrometer and rapid estimates of spatial/temporal variability in all terrain conditions make it an invaluable tool. The bevameter, a less portable tool, is used for the mechanical analysis of soils. The bevameter measures parameters defining soil strength in terms of cohesive modulus of soil deformation (kc), frictional modulus of soil deformation (kφ), exponent of soil sinkage (n), cohesion (c), angle of internal friction (φ), and the plate pressure at 1 in. (2.54 cm) of penetration (K) (Bekker, 1969). The field of terramechanics would greatly benefit from having the ability to convert cone penetrometer data in areas where bevameter parameters are difficult to collect. That ability to convert from cone index to bevameter parameters could be used for the large sets of existing cone index data to support determination of traction and motion resistance. 岩土材料通常呈现出成层水平分布特点, 即可将其视为横观各向同性材料, 横观各向同性对于岩土材料的变形以及强度值都会产生显著的影响. 基于已提出的t强度准则, t强度准则是基于各向同性单元体中存在有效滑移面来构建的, 并根据该空间有效滑移面上主剪应力与主法向应力的比值达到一定阈值为破坏条件. 在空间中存在有效滑移面与物理沉积面, 基于上述两个面在空间的位置关系, 用两面夹角作为表征横观各向同性对剪切强度影响程度的参量, 并假定当该夹角值越大, 则各向异性对强度贡献程度越大, 对应更大的应力比强度值, 反之, 则对应更小的应力比强度值. 基于上述思路并类比将其推广为正交三维各向异性准则, 基于三维各向异性材料的三维沉积面, 提出了三维特征沉积面的概念, 并基于空间滑移面与三维特征沉积面之间的夹角作为度量各向异性程度的变量, 提出了基于两面角作为参量考虑原生各向异性的应力比强度公式, 并利用该应力比强度公式来修正已提出的t强度准则, 最终建立了考虑各向异性影响的t准则公式. 在上述准则基础上, 考虑将各向异性应力空间转换为各向同性应力空间的思路, 在各向异性t准则基础上, 推导得到了基于各向异性强度t准则的变换应力公式, 利用变换应力公式可以将传统的以p, q为变量的各向同性本构模型转变为可考虑各向异性的三维本构模型. 通过对岩土材料的强度以及真三轴条件下的应力应变关系试验数据预测, 验证了所提的各向异性t准则及其变换应力公式的有效性及适用性.  相似文献

土基回弹模量作为路面设计的重要力学参数,在我国路面设计方法中选取最不利季节的土基回弹模量值作为土基的设计强度,没有考虑一年中含水量变化对土基强度的影响,本文通过分析土基回弹模量随季节含水量的变化规律,借鉴AASHTO设计方法中不同季节模量对路面造成的相对损伤思想,推导出等效回弹模量计算公式uf=0.95×107E-5d,提出用等效土基回弹模量值代替最不利季节模量值作为土基强度设计值,不仅能够提高土基自身的抗变形能力,还可以很有效的提高沥青路面结构的整体设计强度。  相似文献

Although a lot of information about soil parameter identification exists in literature, there is currently no algorithm who makes use both of state of the art identification methodologies and incorporating statistical analysis. In this paper a state of the art soil parameter identification method is presented including the calculation of its standard deviations and a proper weighting of the objective function. With this algorithm and a Bevameter with advanced sensor and actuator technology a test campaign is started to find a reliable soil preparation, which is applicable to a large planetary rover performance testbed. Furthermore, the preparation method has to be valid and stable for various types of dry, granular and frictional soils, typically used for planetary rover testing in space robotics, since the result of pre-tests show that the soil parameters are highly depending on the preparation. Besides preparation, the soil parameters are also influenced by different Bevameter test setup variables. Thus, the effect of the penetration velocity as well as the penetration tool geometry for pressure–sinkage tests on soil parameters is investigated. For shear tests the influence of the dimension of the shear ring is analysed as well as the variation of the grouser height, the number of the grousers and the increase of the rotational shear velocity. The results of the extensive test campaign are evaluated by the proposed identification algorithms.  相似文献

In 2014 the University of Nebraska, Lincoln (UNL) was engaged in field testing program to investigate a soil moisture mapping system as a crop management tool. In conjunction with this work, the US Army Engineer Research and Development Center, Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (ERDC-CRREL) deployed a team to perform soil characterization and strength measurements at three agricultural test sites. The primary objective was an investigation of the Lightweight Deflectometer (LWD) as a soil surface strength tool for the purposes of assessing bearing capacity of soft soils. The LWD measurements were performed with those from more “standard” tests, i.e. the Dynamic Cone Penetrometer, Cone Penetrometer, and Clegg Impact Hammer to determine if the LWD produced results that compared with these methods. The strength test data were also used to calculate California Bearing Ratio (CBR) values using existing equations in order to see if the different test methods produced similar CBR values that could in turn be used to predict the bearing capacity of the sites. The secondary objective was to compare the strength data with the corresponding soil water content data taken by UNL to determine if soil moisture was an indicator of soil strength.  相似文献

Tire tractive performance, soil behavior under the traffic, and multi-pass effect are among the key topics in the research of vehicle off-road dynamics. As an extension of the study (He et al., 2019a), this paper documents the testing of a tire moving on soft soil in the traction mode or towing mode, with a single pass or multiple passes, and presents the testing results mainly from the aspects of tire tractive performance parameters, soil behavior parameters, and multi-pass effect on these parameters. The influence of tire inflation pressure, initial soil compaction, tire normal load, or the number of passes on the test data has been analyzed; for some of the tests, the analysis was completed statistically. A multi-pass effect phenomenon, different from any phenomenon recorded in the available existing literature, was discovered and related to the ripple formation and soil failure. The research results of this paper can be considered groundwork for tire off-road dynamics and the development of traction controllers for vehicles on soft soil.  相似文献

圆锥静力触探法(Cone penetration test, CPT)广泛应用于土的抗剪强度测试中。在此基础上发展的自由落体式贯入仪(Free fall penetrometer, FFP),依靠自由下落获得的动能和自身重力势能贯入土中,不需要借助外部加载装置,提高其使用的便捷性。但在动力贯入过程中FFP与土的相互作用更为复杂,涉及到土体的率效应和拖曳阻力等的影响。因此,对FFP各项受力和相关参数的准确分析有助于提高其实用性以及测量的准确性。作者采用基于计算流体动力学(computational fluid dynamics, CFD)的分析软件ANSYS CFX 17.0模拟FFP在均质黏土中的贯入过程,借助动网格的大变形分析方法来模拟FFP贯入过程中的运动边界问题。提出了薄层单元法模拟FFP与土体的界面摩擦接触行为。在CFD模拟中,土体材料采用非牛顿流体来模拟,其剪切强度受土体切应变率的影响(即土体的率效应)。通过模拟贯入仪在黏土中以不同的速度贯入的过程,研究FFP的端部阻力和侧壁阻力与贯入速率、土体强度和密度、界面摩擦系数以及率效应参数之间的关系,建立了端部承载力系数、端部和侧壁率效应参数及拖曳系数的表达式,并提出了土体不排水抗剪强度的预测方法,为FFP测试数据的解析提供依据。   相似文献

The investigation presented addresses the response of a compliant wheel in interaction with deformable soil dependent on the water content, and accordingly on soil consistency. Two fine soils are considered. The basic soil properties and the soil shear strength are obtained from routine tests. A non-pneumatic Tweel in full size is tested in a loading device against a rigid base and against soil placed in a container in order to assess its stiffness and the compressional behavior of the soil, respectively. The measured pressure sinkage curves are then utilized in conjunction with a standard explicit FEM code to calibrate a hyperelastic model for the Tweel and an elasto-plastic constitutive model for the soil. Soil-tire interface strength is obtained from shear tests on a flat tire section embedded in soil. The numerical model is then applied to investigate how the water content affects the global response of the tire-soil system under different scenarios of free rolling, braking and driving. The methodology followed, complemented by appropriate soil testing, can be used as guide for the implementation of more elaborate models.  相似文献

The CRREL Instrumented Vehicle (CIV), shear annulus, direct shear and triaxial compression devices were used to characterize the strength of thawed and thawing soil. Strength was evaluated in terms of the Mohr-Coulomb failure parameters c′ and φ′, which can be used in simple models to predict the tractive performance of vehicles. Use of an instrumented wheel (like those of the CIV) is proposed for terrain strength characterization for traction prediction because the conditions created by a tire slipping on a soil surface are exactly duplicated. The c′ and φ′ values from a portable shear annulus overpredict traction because of the curved nature of the soil failure envelope in the region of low normal stress applied by a portable annulus. Of all the tests, the direct shear test yielded the highest φ′ value, due to its slow deformation rate and drained conditions. The triaxial test produced results closest to those of the instrumented wheel. For all methods, φ′ increases with soil moisture but decreases rapidly beyond the liquid limit of the soil. The φ′ measured with the vehicle was also found to be strongly influenced by the freeze-thaw layering of the soil.  相似文献

A new approach to the traction prediction equation is described. The proposed equation uses the soil deformation modulus and physical properties of agricultural tyres as parameters. The novel features of this approach include the assumption of a non-linear shear stress distribution and change in the value of soil deformation modulus with the normal stress. A model which suggests a relationship between the contact patch area and the soil deformation modulus is also introduced. The prediction equation was compared with the widely used Wismer and Luth equation and measured data obtained by Wittig. The proposed approach results in an improvement over Wismer and Luth in the prediction of traction and it also involves minimal testing.  相似文献
