Let T be a locally compact Hausdorff space and let C 0(T) be the Banach space of all complex valued continuous functions vanishing at infinity in T, provided with the supremum norm. Let X be a quasicomplete locally convex Hausdorff space. A simple proof of the theorem on regular Borel extension of X-valued -additive Baire measures on T is given, which is more natural and direct than the existing ones. Using this result the integral representation and weak compactness of a continuous linear map u: C 0(T) X when c 0 X are obtained. The proof of the latter result is independent of the use of powerful results such as Theorem 6 of [6] or Theorem 3 (vii) of [13].  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to prove certain characterization theorems for groups in which permutability is a transitive relation, the so called -groups. In particular, it is shown that the finite solvable -groups, the finite solvable groups in which every subnormal subgroup of defect two is permutable, the finite solvable groups in which every normal subgroup is permutable sensitive, and the finite solvable groups in which conjugate-permutability and permutability coincide are all one and the same class. This follows from our main result which says that the finite modular p-groups, p a prime, are those p-groups in which every subnormal subgroup of defect two is permutable or, equivalently, in which every normal subgroup is permutable sensitive. However, there exist finite insolvable groups which are not -groups but all subnormal subgroups of defect two are permutable. Received: 13 August 2008  相似文献

In this paper, we give the lower bound of the number of nonabelian subgroups of possible index of finite p-groups, and classify the finite p-groups such that the number of nonabelian subgroups of possible order are exactly the lower bound.  相似文献

For a complete first order theory of Boolean algebras T which has nonisomorphic countable models, we determine the first limit ordinal = (T) such that We show that for some and for all other Ts, A nonprincipal ideal I of B is almost principal, if a is a principal ideal of B} is a maximal ideal of B. We show that the theory of Boolean algebras with an almost principal ideal has complete extensions and characterize them by invariants similar to the Tarskis invariants.Mathematics Subject Classification (2000): Primary 03C15, Secondary 03C35, 06E05Revised version: 2 February 2004  相似文献

A class of groups, called picture groups, is defined. Richard Thompsons groups F, T, and V are all picture groups. Each picture group is shown to act properly and isometrically on a CAT(0) cubical complex. In particular, all picture groups are a-T-menable.Mathematics Subject Classifications (2000). 20F65, 43A15.  相似文献

Let be a class of groups. A subgroup H of a group G is called -s-supplemented in G, if there exists a subgroup K of G such that G = HK and K/KHG belongs to where HG is the maximal normal subgroup of G which is contained in H. The main purpose of this paper is to study some subgroups of Fitting subgroup and generalized Fitting subgroup -s-supplemented and some new criterions of p-nilpotency of finite groups are obtained. *This research is supported by the grant of NSFC and TianYuan Fund of Mathematics of China (Grant #10626047).  相似文献

For a given , we show that there exist two finite index subgroups of which are -quasisymmetrically conjugated and the conjugation homeomorphism is not conformal. This implies that for any there are two finite regular covers of the Modular once punctured torus T 0 (or just the Modular torus) and a -quasiconformal map between them that is not homotopic to a conformal map. As an application of the above results, we show that the orbit of the basepoint in the Teichmüller space T(S p ) of the punctured solenoid S p under the action of the corresponding Modular group (which is the mapping class group of S p [6], [7]) has the closure in T(S p ) strictly larger than the orbit and that the closure is necessarily uncountable.   相似文献

For a given class T of compact Hausdorff spaces, let Y(T) denote the class of -groups G such that for each gG, the Yosida space Y(g) of g belongs to T. Conversely, if R is a class of ;-groups, then T(R) stands for the class of all spaces which are homeomorphic to a Y(g) for some gGR. The correspondences TY(T) and RT(R) are examined with regard to several closure properties of classes. Several sections are devoted to radical classes of -groups whose Yosida spaces are zero-dimensional. There is a thorough discussion of hyper-projectable -groups, followed by presentations on Y(e.d.), where e.d. denotes the class of compact extremally disconnected spaces, and, for each regular uncountable cardinal , the class Y(disc), where disc stands for the class of all compact -disconnected spaces. Sample results follow. Every strongly projectable -group lies in Y(e.d.). The -group G lies in Y(e.d.) if and only if for each gG Y(g) is zero-dimensional and the Boolean algebra of components of g, comp(g), is complete. Corresponding results hold for Y(disc). Finally, there is a discussion of Y(F), with F standing for the class of compact F-spaces. It is shown that an Archimedean -group G is in Y(F) if and only if, for each pair of disjoint countably generated polars P and Q, G=P +Q .  相似文献

We study some categorical aspects of quasi-uniform spaces (mainly separation and epimorphisms) via closure operators in the sense of Dikranjan, Giuli, and Tholen. In order to exploit better the corresponding properties known for topological spaces we describe the behaviour of closure operators under the lifting along the forgetful functor T from quasi-uniform spaces to topological spaces. By means of appropriate closure operators we compute the epimorphisms of many categories of quasi-uniform spaces defined by means of separation axioms and study the preservation (reflection) of epimorphisms under the functor T.  相似文献

O. Kegel, in 1962, introduced the concept of p-subnormal subgroups of a finite group as the subgroups whose intersections with all Sylow p-subgroups of the group are Sylow p-subgroups of the subgroup. The set of p-subnormal subgroup of a finite group is not a lattice in general. In this paper, the class of all finite groups in which all p-subnormal subgroups from a lattice is determined. This is the class of all finite p-soluble groups whose p-length and p′-length, both, are less or equal to 1. The join-semilattice case and the meet-semilattice case are analyzed separately. It is known since 1973 that Lawvere’s notion of Cauchy-complete enriched category is meaningful for metric spaces: it captures exactly Cauchy-complete metric spaces. In this paper, we introduce the corresponding notion of Lawvere completeness for (\mathbbT,V)(\mathbb{T},\mathsf{V})-categories and show that it has an interesting meaning for topological spaces and quasi-uniform spaces: for the former ones it means weak sobriety while for the latter it means Cauchy completeness. Further, we show that V\mathsf{V} has a canonical (\mathbbT,V)(\mathbb{T},\mathsf{V})-category structure which plays a key role: it is Lawvere-complete under reasonable conditions on the setting; this structure permits us to define a Yoneda embedding in the realm of (\mathbbT,V)(\mathbb{T},\mathsf{V})-categories.  相似文献

We present some properties of the distributions T of the form ∑ipi−δni), with ∑i d(pi,ni)<∞, which arise in the study of the 3-d Ginzburg–Landau problem; see Bourgain et al. (C. R. Acad. Sci. Paris, Ser. I 331 (2000) 119–124). We show that there always exists an irreducible representation of T. We also extend a result of Smets (C. R. Acad. Sci. Paris, Ser. I 334 (2002) 371–374) which says that T is a measure iff T can be written as a finite sum of dipoles.  相似文献

In this paper we prove a characterization for the subclass of non-balanced T U-games. The result is stated in terms of certain class of cycles of pre-imputations. A cycle is a finite sequence of pre-imputations, where each pair of neighbouring elements are interrelated to each other through a transfer of some amount of utility from members of a certain coalition to the members of the complementary coalition, with the understanding that individual gains or losses within any coalition are proportional to the number of members of the coalition. These cycles are strongly connected with a transfer scheme designed to reach a point in the core of a T U-game provided this set is non-empty.The main result of this paper provides an alternative characterization of balanced TU-games to Shapley-Bondarevas theorem.I would like to thank A. Cali for her helpful observations, and two anonymous referees for their detailed comments and suggestions to improve substantially the presentation of the paper.  相似文献

This paper concerns solving an overdetermined linear systemA T x=b in the leastl 1-norm orl -norm sense, whereA m×n ,m<n. We show that the primal-dual interior point approach for linear programming can be applied, in an effective manner, to linear programming versions of thel 1 andl -problems. The resulting algorithms are simple to implement and can attain quadratic or superlinear convergence rate. At each iteration, the algorithms must solve a linear system with anm×m positive-definite coefficient matrix of the formADA T , whereD is a positive diagonal matrix. The preliminary numerical results indicate that the proposed algorithms offer considerable promise. This research was supported in part by Grants NSF DMS-91-02761 and DOE DE-FG05-91-ER25100.  相似文献

Let A be a subgroup of a group G and X be a nonempty subset of G. A is said to be X-semipermutable in G if A has a supplement T in G such that A is X-permutable with every subgroup of T. In this paper, we investigate further the influence of X-semipermutability of some subgroups on the structure of finite groups. Some new criteria for a group G to be supersoluble or p-nilpotent are obtained. This work was supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China (Grant Nos. 10771172, 10771180)  相似文献

We find some links between -reducibility and T-reducibility. We prove that (1) if a quasirigid model is strongly -definable in a hereditarily finite admissible set over a locally constructivizable B-system, then it is constructivizable; (2) every abelian p-group and every Ershov algebra is locally constructivizable; (3) if an antisymmetric connected model is -definable in a hereditarily finite admissible set over a countable Ershov algebra then it is constructivizable.  相似文献

The classification of the fully invariant subgroups of a reduced Abelian p-group is a difficult long-standing problem when one moves outside of the class of fully transitive groups. In this work we restrict attention to the socles of fully invariant subgroups and introduce a new class of groups which we term socle-regular groups; this class is shown to be large and strictly contains the class of fully transitive groups. The basic properties of such groups are investigated but it is shown that the classification of even this simplified class of groups, seems extremely difficult. Received: 4 September 2008  相似文献

In this paper, error analysis of a finite element A method for the time-dependent Maxwell’s equations is presented. An explicit-magnetic-field scheme is applied. Provided that the time-stepsize τ is sufficiently small, the proposed algorithm yields for finite time T an error of in the L2-norm for the electric field E and the magnetic field H, where h is the mesh size.  相似文献
