Dimetallic Schiff base-porphyrazine (pz) compounds, denoted 1[M(1); M(2); R], have been prepared, where metal ion M(1) is incorporated into the pz core, and metal ion M(2) is bound to a bis(5-tert-butylsalicylidenimine) chelate built onto two amino nitrogens attached to the pz periphery; R is a solubilizing group (either propyl (Pr) or 3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl (TMP)) attached to the remaining carbons of the pz periphery. The synthesis of 1[Cu; Cu; R], 1[Cu; VO; R], 1[ClMn; Cu; Pr], and 1[ClMn; VO; Pr] is discussed, the crystal structures of 1[Cu; Cu; TMP] and 1[ClMn; VO; Pr] are presented, and the magnetic properties of these compounds are compared. The pattern of ligand-mediated exchange coupling in these complexes is startling: for the Cu-M(2) complexes 1[Cu; VO; R] and 1[Cu; Cu; R], 2 x 10(2) < or = |J(Cu-VO)/J(Cu-Cu)|; for the ClMn-M(2) complexes 1[ClMn; Cu; Pr] and 1[ClMn; VO; Pr], J(ClMn-VO)/J(ClMn-Cu) approximately 1/3, an inverse ratio from that of the Cu-M(2) complexes, but with lesser discrimination. This coupling pattern is explained in terms of a novel orientation relative to the M(1)-M(2) direction: the "square-planar" Schiff base ligand set of M(2) is rotated in-plane by 45 degrees relative to the effectively coplanar pz ligand set of M(1).  相似文献

A new Schiff base, {1-[(2-hydroxy-naphthalen-1-ylmethylene)-amino]-4-phenyl-2-thioxo-1, 2-dihydro-pyrimidin-5-yl}-phenyl-methanone, has been synthesized from N-amino pyrimidine-2-thione and 2-hydroxynaphthaldehyde. Metal complexes of the Schiff base were prepared from acetate/chloride salts of Cu(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Zn(II), and Cd(II) in methanol. The chemical structures of the Schiff-base ligand and its metal complexes were confirmed by elemental analyses, IR, 13C-NMR, 1H-NMR, API-ES, UV-Visible spectroscopy, magnetic susceptibility, and thermogravimetric analyses. The electronic spectral data and magnetic moment measurements suggest mononuclear octahedral and mononuclear or binuclear square planar structures for the metal complexes. In light of these results, it was suggested that this ligand coordinates to each metal atom by hydroxyl oxygen, azomethine nitrogen, and thione sulfur to form octahedral complexes with Cd(II) and Zn(II).  相似文献

Single crystal X-ray analysis of compounds H2pmdc.2H2O (1), KHpmdc (2), and K2pmdc (3) shows that the pyrimidine-4,6-dicarboxylate (pmdc) dianion presents an almost planar geometry which confers a potential capability to act as a bis-bidentate bridging ligand, and therefore, to construct 1-D metal complexes. Based on this assumption, we have designed the first six transition metal complexes based on this ligand of formula {[M(micro-pmdc)(H2O)2].H2O}n [M(II) = Fe (4), Co (5), Ni (6), Zn (7), Cu (8)] and {[Cu(micro-pmdc)(dpa)].4H2O}n (9) (dpa = 2,2'-dipyridylamine). The crystal structure of all of these complexes has been determined by single crystal X-ray measurements, except for compound whose X-ray powder diffraction pattern reveals that it is isostructural to compounds 4-7. The bis-chelating pmdc ligand bridges sequentially octahedrally coordinated M(II) centres leading to polymeric chains. The hexacoordination of the metal centres is completed by two water molecules in compounds 4-8 and by the two endocyclic-N atoms of a terminal dpa ligand in compound . Cryomagnetic susceptibility measurements show the occurrence of antiferromagnetic intrachain interactions for compounds and (J = -2.5 (4), -5.2 (6), -32.7 (8), and -0.9 (9) cm(-1)). Model calculations and analyses of the available experimental data have been used to examine the influence of several factors on the nature and magnitude of the magnetic coupling constants in pyrimidine bridged complexes, showing that metal deviation from the pyrimidine mean plane could lead to ferromagnetic behaviour.  相似文献

Four chelating nitrogen ligands 2-5 derived from N,N-bis(2-picolyl)amine (bpa, 1) were synthesized, namely, (PyCH(2))(2)N-CH(2)-p-C(6)H(4)-CO(2)R (R = Me, 2, and R = H, 3) and (PyCH(2))(2)N-(CH(2))(n)-CO(2)H (n = 2, 4, and n = 5, 5). Amino acid conjugates 6 and 7 were formed by condensation of 3 with H-Phe-OMe and H-betaAla-OMe, respectively. Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes of 1-7 were prepared and fully characterized. The X-ray structures of 1(Zn), 2(Zn), 4(Cu), and 7(Cu) were determined. The Zn complexes 1(Zn) and 2(Zn) as well as 7(Cu) show a distorted trigonal bipyramidal coordination environment in the solid state. An octahedral complex is observed for 4(Cu) which forms chains along the crystallographic b axis by intermolecular coordination of the carboxylic acid to the metal ion of a neighboring complex. Ligand 3 was used to prepare the peptide bioconjugate 8 (3-Ahx-Pro-Lys-Lys-Lys-Arg-Lys-Phe-NH(2)) with a nuclear localization signal (nls) heptapeptide by solid phase synthesis. Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes of 8 were synthesized in situ and studied by FAB-MS, ESI-MS, UV/vis, and EPR (for 8(Cu)), and FAB-MS, ESI-MS, and NMR (for 8(Zn)). All spectroscopic results clearly support metal coordination to the bpa ligand in the bioconjugates 8(M), even in the presence of other potential ligands from amino acid side chains of the peptide. We suggest metal-peptide conjugates like 8(M) as artificial metallochaperones because they have the potential to deliver metal ions to specific compartments in the cell as determined by the peptide moieties.  相似文献

A series of 2-(1-(arylimino)propyl)quinolin-8-olate half-titanocene dichlorides, Cp'TiCl(2)L (Cp' = η(5)-C(5)H(5) or η(5)-C(5)Me(5), L = 2-(1-(2,6-R(1)-4-R(2)-phenylimino)propyl)quinolin-8-olate), was synthesized via the stoichiometric reaction of Cp'TiCl(3) with the corresponding potassium 2-(1-(2,6-R(1)-4-R(2)-phenylimino)propyl)quinolin-8-olate salt. All titanium compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, (1)H NMR and (13)C NMR spectroscopy; the molecular structures of two representative compounds were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. On activation with methylaluminoxane (MAO), all half-titanocene compounds showed high activity in ethylene polymerization, and furthermore, performed with good to high activities in the co-polymerization of ethylene with either 1-hexene or 1-octene affording polyethylenes with high co-monomer incorporation. Less bulky ortho-substituents (R(1)) on the phenylimino groups were found to enhance the catalytic activities of their titanium compounds. In general, the titanium pro-catalysts containing η(5)-C(5)Me(5) (C7-C12) exhibited higher activities than did their analogues bearing η(5)-C(5)H(5) (C1-C6). Some of the resultant polyolefins were ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene.  相似文献

Three ferrocene complexes vectorized with estrogens and vitamin D(2) were synthesized and fully characterized by spectroscopic, electrochemical and computational methods. The synthesis of these esters was accomplished by reacting ferrocenoyl chloride with the corresponding ROH groups (R = ergocalciferol, estradiol, estrone). The cytotoxicity of these complexes in HT-29 colon cancer and MCF-7 breast cancer cell lines was investigated in vitro. Only ferrocenoyl 17β-hydroxy-estra-1,3,5(10)-trien-3-olate showed good cytotoxic activity in both cell lines, exceeding those of ferrocenium and ferrocene. In MCF-7, ferrocenoyl 17β-hydroxy-estra-1,3,5(10)-trien-3-olate exhibited remarkable IC(50), in the low micromolar range. This may be attributed to the presence of the estradiol vector. Docking studies between alpha-estrogen receptor ligand binding site and ferrocenoyl 17β-hydroxy-estra-1,3,5(10)-trien-3-olate revealed some key hydrophobic interactions that might explain the cytotoxic activity of this ester.  相似文献

Spirocyclization of morpholinium 3-[(aryl)(1,3-dimethyl-2,4,6-trioxohexahydropyrimidin-5-yl)methyl]-6-methyl-2-oxo-2H-pyran-4-olate by the action of sodium acetate-N-bromosuccinimide system in ethanol at room temperature results in spiro[furo[3,2-c]pyran-2,5’-pyrimidine] derivatives in 92–98% yields, the protocol allowing to avoid column chromatography purification. This new highly efficient and facile procedure is a convenient way to substituted unsymmetrical spiro scaffold containing pyrimidine-2,4,6-trione and 2,3-dihydro-4H-furo[3,2-c]pyran-4-one fragments promising for biomedical applications.  相似文献

We report the synthesis and physical characterization of a series of peripherally functionalized porphyrazines (pz's) 1[M(1); M(2); R], where M(1) is a metal ion incorporated into the pz core, M(2) is a metal ion bound to a bis(5-tert-butyl-salicylidenimine) chelate built onto two amino nitrogen attached to the pz periphery, and R is a solubilizing group (either n-propyl (Pr) or 3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl (TMP) group) attached to the remaining carbons of the pz periphery. The 1[M(1); M(2); R] species are prepared from precursor pz's with a selenodiazole ring; they are deprotected to form the diamino pz, which reacts with two moles of 5-tert-butyl-2-hydroxybenzaldehyde to form the Schiff base pz. This is metalated to form 1[M(1); M(2); R]. The crystal structures of 1[2H; Ni; Pr] and 1[Cu; ClMn; Pr] are presented. The EPR spectra of the M(1)-M(2) "isomers" prepared with Cu(II) (S = (1)/(2)) and ClMn(III) (S = 2) ions, 1[ClMn; Cu; Pr] and 1[Cu; ClMn; TMP], are a superposition of spectra expected for the S = (3)/(2) and S = (5)/(2) total-spin manifolds that result from strong Heisenberg coupling between the partner spins. The exchange splitting between the two manifolds, as determined by temperature-dependent magnetic susceptibility measurements, is equivalent for the two M(1)-M(2) "isomers", Delta/k(B) approximately 20-25 K, which suggests a sigma-pathway for exchange coupling.  相似文献

A new heterocyclic compound N-(5-benzoyl-2-oxo-4-phenyl-2H-pyrimidin-1-yl)-oxalamic acid has been synthesized from N-amino pyrimidine-2-one and oxalylchloride. Bis-chelate complexes of the ligand were prepared from acetate/chloride salts of Cu(II), Co(II), Mn(II), Ni(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), and Pd(II) in methanol. The structures of the ligand and its metal complexes were characterized by microanalyses, IR, AAS, NMR, API-ES, UV-Vis spectroscopy, magnetic susceptibility, and thermogravimetric analyses. An octahedral geometry has been suggested for all the complexes, except for Pd(II) complex, in which the metal center is square planar. Each ligand binds using C(2)=O, HN, and carboxylate. The cyclic voltammograms of the ligand and the complexes are also discussed. The new synthesized compounds were evaluated for antimicrobial activities against Gram-positive, Gram-negative bacteria and fungi using the microdilution procedure. The Cu(II) complex displayed selective and effective antibacterial activity against one Gram-positive spore-forming bacterium (Bacillus cereus ATCC 7064), two Gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538 and S. aureus ATCC 25923) at 40–80 µg mL?1, but poor activity against Candida species. The Cu(II) complex might be a new antibacterial agent against Gram-positive bacteria.  相似文献

Two pro-ligands ((R)LH) comprised of an o,p-di-tert-butyl-substituted phenol covalently bonded to a benzimidazole ((Bz)LH) or a 4,5-di-p-methoxyphenyl substituted imidazole ((PhOMe)LH), have been structurally characterised. Each possesses an intramolecular O-H[dot dot dot]N hydrogen bond between the phenolic O-H group and an imidazole nitrogen atom and (1)H NMR studies show that this bond is retained in solution. Each (R)LH undergoes an electrochemically reversible, one-electron, oxidation to form the [(R)LH] (+) radical cation that is considered to be stabilised by an intramolecular O...H-N hydrogen bond. The (R)LH pro-ligands react with M(BF(4))(2).H(2)O (M = Cu or Zn) in the presence of Et(3)N to form the corresponding [M((R)L)(2)] compound. [Cu((Bz)L)(2)] (), [Cu((PhOMe)L)(2)] (), [Zn((Bz)L)(2)] and [Zn((PhOMe)L)(2)] have been isolated and the structures of .4MeCN, .2MeOH, .2MeCN and .2MeCN determined by X-ray crystallography. In each compound the metal possesses an N(2)O(2)-coordination sphere: in .4MeCN and .2MeOH the {CuN(2)O(2)} centre has a distorted square planar geometry; in .2MeCN and .2MeCN the {ZnN(2)O(2)} centre has a distorted tetrahedral geometry. The X-band EPR spectra of both and , in CH(2)Cl(2)-DMF (9 : 1) solution at 77 K, are consistent with the presence of a Cu(ii) complex having the structure identified by X-ray crystallography. Electrochemical studies have shown that each undergo two, one-electron, oxidations; the potentials of these processes and the UV/vis and EPR properties of the products indicate that each oxidation is ligand-based. The first oxidation produces [M(II)((R)L)((R)L )](+), comprising a M(ii) centre bound to a phenoxide ((R)L) and a phenoxyl radical ((R)L ) ligand; these cations have been generated electrochemically and, for R = PhOMe, chemically by oxidation with Ag[BF(4)]. The second oxidation produces [M(II)((R)L )(2)](2+). The information obtained from these investigations shows that a suitable pro-ligand design allows a relatively inert phenoxyl radical to be generated, stabilised by either a hydrogen bond, as in [(R)LH] (+) (R = Bz or PhOMe), or by coordination to a metal, as in [M(II)((R)L)((R)L )](+) (M = Cu or Zn; R = Bz or PhOMe). Coordination to a metal is more effective than hydrogen bonding in stabilising a phenoxyl radical and Cu(ii) is slightly more effective than Zn(II) in this respect.  相似文献

The synthesis and characterization of the bis(bidentate) Schiff-base ligand [(R)-2] formed by the condensation reaction of (R)-1,1'-binaphthyl-2,2'-diamine [(R)-BINAM] with pyridine-2-carboxaldehyde is presented. The coordination chemistry of (R)-2 with Ni(ClO(4))(2).6H(2)O, Co(ClO(4))(2).6H(2)O, CuCl(2), and CuSO(4) has been investigated. Reaction of (R)-2 with the first two metal salts leads to complexes of the type [M((R)-4)(2)](ClO(4))(2) (M = Ni(II), Co(II)), where (R)-4 is a tridentate ligand resulting from the hydrolytic cleavage of one of the pyridyl groups from (R)-2. Both complexes were characterized by X-ray crystallography, which showed that the Lambda absolute configuration of the metal center is favored in both cases. (1)H NMR spectroscopy suggests that the high diastereoselectivity of Lambda-[Co((R)-4)(2)](ClO(4))(2) is maintained in solution. The reaction of (R)-2 with CuCl(2) leads to the dinuclear complex [Cu(2)((R)-2)Cl(4)], which has a [Cu(2)(mu(2)-Cl(2))] core. The reaction of CuSO(4) with (R)-2 gives a dimeric complex, [Cu((R)-4)SO(4)](2), which features a [Cu(2)(mu(2)-(SO(4))(2))] core. This complex can be prepared directly by the reaction of (R)-BINAM with pyridine-2-carboxaldehyde and CuSO(4). The use of rac-BINAM in this synthetic procedure leads to the heterochiral dimer [Cu(2)((R)-4)((S)-4)(SO(4))(2)]; that is, the ligands undergo a self-sorting (self/nonself discrimination) process based on chirality. The reaction of rac-BINAM, pyridine-2-carboxaldehyde, and Co(ClO(4))(2).6H(2)O proceeds via a homochiral self-sorting pathway to produce a racemic mixture of [Co((R)-4)(2)](2+) and [Co((S)-4)(2)](2+). The variable-temperature magnetic susceptibilities of the bimetallic complexes [Cu(2)((R)-2)Cl(4)], [Cu((R)-4)(mu(2)-SO(4))](2), and [Cu(2)((R)-4)((S)-4)(mu(2)-SO(4))(2)] all show weak antiferromagnetic coupling with J = -1.0, -0.40, and -0.67 cm(-)(1), respectively.  相似文献

In searching for coordination polymers containing the highly polarized 5-nitro-pyrimidin-2-olate ligand (NP), a number of species containing 3d transition metals have been prepared and characterized, namely Co(NP)2(H2O)4, [Co(NP)2]n, Ni(NP)2(H2O)4, [Ni(NP)2]x, and [Zn(NP)2]n. Their structures have been determined by X-ray powder diffraction methods. The hydrated compounds contain mononuclear M(NP)2(H2O)4 units interconnected by means of a three-dimensional (3D) network of hydrogen bonds. The homoleptic species, at variance from the already known metal(II) pyrimidin-2-olate ones, crystallize as two-dimensional (2D) slabs, where the metal coordination is of the MN3O kind. The electron-withdrawing nitro group, never bound to the metal ion, is likely to influence the observed stereochemistry through steric and dipolar effects within the crystal lattice. The thermal, spectroscopic, and magnetic properties of these species are presented. The M(NP)2(H2O)4/[M(NP)2]x,n systems interconvert reversibly upon dehydration/rehydration processes.  相似文献

2-Benzoylpyridine thiosemicarbazone {R(1)R(2)C(2)=N(2)·N(3)H-C(1)(=S)-N(4)H(2), R(1) = py-N(1), R(2) = Ph; Hbpytsc} with copper(I) iodide in acetonitrile-dichloromethane mixture has formed stable Cu(II)-I bonds in a dark green Cu(II) iodo-bridged dimer, [Cu(2)(II)(μ-I)(2)(η(3)-N(1),N(2),S-bpytsc)(2)] 1. Copper(I) bromide also formed similar Cu(II)-Br bonds in a dark green Cu(II) bromo-bridged dimer, [Cu(2)(II)(μ-Br)(2)(η(3)-N(1),N(2),S-bpytsc)(2)] 3. The formation of dimers 1 and 3 appears to be due to a proton coupled electron transfer (PCET) process wherein copper(I) loses an electron to form copper(II), and this is accompanied by a loss of -N(3)H proton of Hbpytsc ligand resulting in the formation of anionic bpytsc(-). When copper(I) iodide was reacted with triphenylphosphine (PPh(3)) in acetonitrile followed by the addition of 2-benzoylpyridine thiosemicarbazone in dichloromethane (Cu?:?PPh(3)?:?Hbpytsc in the molar ratio 1:1:1), both Cu(II) dimer 1 and an orange Cu(I) sulfur-bridged dimer, [Cu(2)(I)I(2)(μ-S-Hbpytsc)(2)(PPh(3))(2)] 2 were formed. Copper(I) bromide with PPh(3) and Hbpytsc also formed Cu(II) dimer 3 and an orange Cu(I) sulfur-bridged dimer, [Cu(2)(I)Br(2)(μ-S-Hbpytsc)(2)(PPh(3))(2)] 4. While complexes 2 and 4 exist as sulfur-bridged Cu(I) dimers, 1 and 3 are halogen-bridged. The central Cu(2)S(2) cores of 2 and 4 as well as Cu(2)X(2) of 1 (X = I) and 3 (X = Br) are parallelograms. One set of Cu(II)-I and Cu(II)-Br bonds are short, while the second set is very long {1, Cu-I, 2.565(1), 3.313(1) ?; 3, Cu-Br, 2.391(1), 3.111(1) ?}. The Cu···Cu separations are long in all four complexes {1, 4.126(1); 2, 3.857(1); 3, 3.227(1); 4, 3.285(1) ?}, more than twice the van der Waals radius of a Cu atom, 2.80 ?. The pyridyl group appears to be necessary for stabilizing the Cu(II)-I bond, as this group can accept π-electrons from the metal.  相似文献

The treatment of phenylmercury(II) acetate with several pyrimidine-2-thiones (RpymSH) results in the formation of the corresponding pyrimidine-2-thionato complexes [PhHg(RpymS)]. The crystal structure of [PhHg(4,6-Me2pymS)] shows a nearly lineal coordination environment for the mercury atom, with the ligand using the exocyclic sulfur atom to bind the metal; a weak interaction between mercury and one of the heterocyclic nitrogens is also observed. Vibrational and 1H, 13C and 199Hg NMR spectroscopic data of the complexes are discussed and related to the structure.  相似文献
