In this paper, the free axial vibration of single walled carbon nanorod embedded in an elastic medium is investigated by the use of Rayleigh model. The stress gradient model introduced by Eringen is used to formulate the governing equations. Explicit expressions are derived for eigenfrequencies of fixed-fixed and fixed-free boundary conditions.  相似文献

In this work, the question of homogenizing linear elastic, heterogeneous materials with periodic microstructures in the case of non-separated scales is addressed. A framework if proposed, where the notion of mesoscopic strain and stress fields are defined by appropriate integral operators which act as low-pass filters on the fine scale fluctuations. The present theory extends the classical linear homogenization by substituting averaging operators by integral operators, and localization tensors by nonlocal operators involving appropriate Green functions. As a result, the obtained constitutive relationship at the mesoscale appears to be nonlocal. Compared to nonlocal elastic models introduced from a phenomenological point of view, the nonlocal behavior has been fully derived from the study of the microstructure. A discrete version of the theory is presented, where the mesoscopic strain field is approximated as a linear combination of basis functions. It allows computing the mesoscopic nonlocal operator by means of a finite number of transformation tensors, which can be computed numerically on the unit cell.  相似文献

We present an efficient finite element method for computing the engineering quantities of interest that are linear functionals of displacement in elasticity based on a posteriori error estimate. The accuracy of quantities is greatly improved by adding the approximate cross inner product of errors in the primal and dual problems, which is calculated with an inexpensive gradient recovery type error estimate, to the quantities obtained from the finite element solution. With less CPU time, the accuracy of the improved quantities obtained with the proposed method on the coarse finite element mesh is similar to that of the quantities obtained from the finite element solutions on the finer mesh. Three quantities related to the local displacement, local stress and stress intensity factor are computed with the proposed method to verify its efficiency.  相似文献

The dispersion of pollutants in the environment is an issue of great interest as it directly affects air quality, mainly in large cities. Experimental and numerical tools have been used to predict the behavior of pollutant species dispersion in the atmosphere. A software has been developed based on the control‐volume based on the finite element method in order to obtain two‐dimensional simulations of Navier–Stokes equations and heat or mass transportation in regions with obstacles, varying position of the pollutant source. Numeric results of some applications were obtained and, whenever possible, compared with literature results showing satisfactory accordance. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

为获得弹道导弹落点密集度的验前估计,应用蒙特卡罗法设计了一种基于制导工具误差的模拟打靶试验统计方法。建立了由制导工具误差到导弹飞行主动段终点偏差的误差传递方程,推导出18项参数的环境函数矩阵,然后利用椭圆弹道理论将主动段终点偏差折算落点偏差,完成了由靶场验前测试数据到落点密集度的统计试验估计模型。实现了伪随机数的产生和抽样,并对其进行了参数检验、均匀性检验和随机性检验。利用某型弹道导弹靶场单元测试数据进行模拟打靶试验,统计试验结果得到落点CEP和密集度的估计值和置信区间。飞行试验结果证实了该方法的可行性。  相似文献

Seemingly contradictory findings between studies are a major issue in nanoecotoxicological research and have been explained as a result of the lack of comparability between assay methods, with dispersion of nanomaterials being identified as a key factor. Here we show the use of a multivariate method, principal component analysis (PCA), as a tool in protocol development and categorization of dispersion quality. Results show the significance of particle concentration within a protocol, and its effect on repeatability. Our results suggest that future studies should involve the use of PCA as a powerful data exploration tool to facilitate method development, comparability and integration of data across different laboratories.  相似文献
