The adsorption of phosphate ions from aqueous solutions with an ionic strength of 0.5 on iron(III), zirconium(IV), and chromium(III) oxyhydroxide hydrogels has been studied as influenced by chloride and sulfate ions. Despite the high concentrations of chloride and sulfate ions, they do not inhibit phosphate adsorption on the hydrogels; they only slightly change the isotherm shape. In the range of equilibrium phosphate concentrations equal to 30–50 mmol/l, all isotherms for iron and zirconium oxyhydroxide gels signify the appearance of a second adsorption layer (two-step isotherms). Both steps are satisfactorily fitted by the Langmuir equation. The maximum adsorptions and adsorption constants have been calculated. For chromium oxyhydroxide gels, the intraduction of an electrolyte dramatically decreases the equilibration rate.  相似文献

Changes in the acid-base properties of titanium(IV), zirconium(IV), iron(III), chromium(III), and indium(III) hydrogels of oxide hydroxides induced by aging in sodium chloride and sulfate solutions were studied by the point of zero charge method. On aging in a solution of the sulfate electrolyte the hydrogels loose their basic properties much more rapidly than in the chloride solution. The most changes were observed in the region of high pH of the point of zero charge of the hydrogels. The changes in the acid-base properties can be explained by a decrease in the content of surface OH groups with are displaced by the supporting electrolyte ions, and due to the oxolation of the hydrogels. A catalytic method for the determination of copper, based on the catalysis of the hexacyano-ferrate(III)-cyanide redox reaction, is proposed. Experimental conditions to achieve the lowest detection limit are selected from the kinetics of both the catalysed and the uncatalysed reactions. The experimental measurements can be made at room temperature without close control. The rate-constant method is the most sensitive and precise, whereas the fixed-concentration and fixed-time methods appear to be the most rapid for routine analysis. A detection limit of 1.3 ng/ml and a coefficient of variation of about 3% for the determination of 63 ng/ml can be achieved. The catalytic effect of copper seems to be highly specific. Lead(II), bismuth (III), antimony (III), iron (II), iron(III), chromium(III), lanthanum(III), cerium(III), titanium(IV), zirconium(IV) and uranium(VI) interfere by precipitation. Species such as tin(II), cobalt(II), manganese(II), sulphite and thiosulphite cause serious interference because they react with hexacyanoferrate(III). Chromate interferes by its colour. Suitable methods to avoid the interferences from antimony(III), iron(III), chromium(III), titanium(IV), zirconium(IV), uranium(VI) and chromate are proposed.  相似文献

Separation of bismuth from beryllium, lead, iron(III), indium, scandium, lanthanum, antimony(III), zirconium, titanium, thorium, vanadium(V), molybdenum(VI), uranium (VI) and chromium(VI) is achieved by selective extraction of bismuth from 0.1M sodium salicylate solution (adjusted to pH 7) into mesityl oxide (MeO). The extracted species is Bi (HOC(6)H(4)COO)(3).3MeO. The results are accurate within +/- 0.5%, with a standard deviation of 0.8%. The separation and determination of bismuth takes only 15 min.  相似文献

The extraction behaviour of iron(III) and titanium(IV) from acidic chloride solutions has been investigated using 3-phenyl-4-benzoyl-5-isoxazolone (HPBI) in xylene as an extractant. The results demonstrate that these metal ions are extracted into xylene as Fe(PBI)(3) and TiO(PBI)(2). The equilibrium constants of the extracted complexes have been deduced by non-linear regression analysis by taking into account complexation of metal ion with inorganic ligands in the aqueous phase and all plausible complexes extracted into the organic phase. IR and proton NMR ((1)H NMR) spectra were used to further clarify the nature of complexes extracted into organic phase. The effect of the nature of the diluent on the extraction of iron(III) and titanium(IV) has been studied and correlated with dielectric constants. The extraction behaviour of titanium(IV) has also been compared with that of other metal ions, viz. magnesium(II), vanadium(V), chromium(VI), iron(III), manganese(II), zinc(II) and zirconium(IV), which are associated with the titanium in waste chloride liquors of the titanium-mineral-processing industry.  相似文献

A flow injection analysis (FIA) method is presented for the simultaneous determinations of iron(III)-vanadium(V) and of iron(III)-chromium(VI) using a single spectrophotometric detector. In the presence of 1,10-phenanthroline (phen), iron(III) is easily reduced by vanadium(IV) to iron(II), followed by the formation of a red iron(II)-phen complex (lambda(max) = 510 nm), which shows a positive FIA peak at 510 nm corresponding to the concentration of iron(III). On the other hand, in the presence of diphosphate the reductions of vanadium(V) and/or chromium(VI) with iron(II) occur easily because the presence of diphosphate causes an increase in the reducing power of iron(II). In this case iron(II) is consumed during the reaction and a negative FIA peak at 510 nm corresponding to the concentration of vanadium(V) and/or chromium(VI) is obtained. The proposed method makes it possible to obtain both positive (for iron(III)) and negative (for vanadium(V) or chromium(VI)) FIA peaks with a single injection.  相似文献

Uranium was quantitatively extracted with 4% Amberlite LA-1 in xylene at pH 2.5-4.0 from 0.001 M malonic acid. It was stripped from the organic phase with 0.01 M sodium hydroxide and determined spectrophotometrically at 530 nm as its complex with 4-(2-pyridylazo) resorcinol. Of various liquid anion-exchangers tested, Amberlite LA-1 was found to be best. Uranium was separated from alkali and alkaline earth metal ions, thallium(I), iron(II), silver, arsenic(III) and tin(IV) by selective extraction, and from zinc, cadmium, nickel, copper(II), cobalt(II), chromium(III), aluminium, iron(III), lead, bismuth, antimony(III) and yttrium by selective stripping. The separation from scandium, zirconium, thorium and vanadium(V) was done by exploiting differences in the stability of chloro-complexes.  相似文献

Summary 2-Pyridylphenylacetonitrile (ppa) is oxidized by iron(III) chloride in dry ethanol to 1,2-dicyano-1,2-di(phenyl)-1,2-(2-pyridyl)ethane (dcppe). When 1,2-dichloroethane or ether are used as solvents, a 31 complex of dcppe with iron trichloride, [(FeCl3)3(dcppe)] is obtained.Titanium(IV), vanadium(IV) and chromium(III) chlorides react with ppa and dcppe, giving complexes of general formulae [MCl4(ppa)] (M = Ti or V), [CrCl3(ppa)n] (n = 2 or 3), [(MCl4)2(dcppe)] (M = Ti or V) and [CrCl3(dcppe)].  相似文献

Summary A rapid and accurate method is described for the potentiometric determination of uranium(IV) with permanganate at room temperature using trace amounts of ortho-phosphoric acid as a catalyst. The procedure has been extended for the differential potentiometric determination of mixtures with vanadium, manganese or cerium. The methods are easy, non-time consuming and free from interference by a large number of foreign ions. Conditions are also developed for the differential photometric determination of uranium and iron in mixtures.Based on these procedures, a differential titrimetric procedure has been developed for determination of iron(III), vanadium(V), chromium(VI) and manganese(VII) [or cerium(IV)] in a single solution at room temperature. This procedure has also been tested on Bureau of Standard samples.

Summary The compound disodium-1,8-dihydroxy-naphthalene-3,6-disulphonate (sodium salt of chromotropic acid) is employed as a colorimetric reagent for titanium. It is also known to produce coloured complexes with chromium(VI), vanadium and uranium. In the present paper the formation of colour with forty metallic ions has been studied qualitatively, in neutral as well as in alkaline and acidic media. It has been found that the reagent yields coloured complexes with mercury(I), tin(IV), platinum(IV), gold(III), tellurium(VI), molybdenum(VI), iron(III), aluminium(III), chromium(III), and uranyl(II) besides those recorded above. The colour reactions are particularly sensitive to uranyl(II), iron(III), mercury(I), tin(IV), gold(III) und molybdenum(VI).  相似文献

A rapid extractive photometric method using Aliquat-336 and xylenol organe for the determination of plutonium(IV) at μg levels has been developed. Quantitative extraction is obtained from ∼4M aqueous HNO3 medium, affording estimation in the presence of several commonly occurring impurities, viz. iron, uranium, fission products and cladding materials. Effects of acidity, reagent concentration and diverse ions on the estimation have also been invetigated. Unlike the well-known absorptiometric method for determining plutonium(IV) employing Arsenazo III, the procedure presented here tolerates manyfold excesses of uranium(VI) as well as chromium(III), iron(III) and zirconium(IV), which are some of the major contaminants of plutonium during reprocessing.  相似文献

N,N′-ethylene- bis-(salicylideneiminato)iron(II), (Fe(salen)), however reacts with arylazides to produce iron(III) organo-imido-bridged compounds of general formula, [Fe(salen)]2NR showing magnetic coupling between the Fe(III) centres.  相似文献

The coprecipitation behavior of 44 elements (47 ions because of chromium(III,VI), arsenic(III,V), and antimony(III,V)) with yttrium phosphate was investigated at various pHs. Yttrium phosphate could quantitatively coprecipitate iron(III), lead, bismuth, and indium over a wide pH range; however, 18 ions, including alkali metals and oxo anions, such as vanadium(V), chromium(VI), molybdenum(VI), tungsten(VI), germanium(IV), arsenic(III,V), selenium(IV), and tellurium(VI), were scarcely collected. In addition, 19 ions, including cobalt, nickel, and copper(II), were hardly coprecipitated at pHs below about 3. Based on these results, the separation of iron(III), lead, and bismuth from cobalt, nickel, and copper(II) matrices was investigated. Iron(III), lead, and bismuth ranging from 0.5 to 25 μg could be separated effectively from a solution containing 0.5 g of cobalt, nickel, or copper at pH 3.0. The separated iron(III), lead, and bismuth could be determined by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry using internal standardization. The detection limits (3σ, n = 7) of iron(III), lead, and bismuth were 0.008, 0.137, and 0.073 μg, respectively. The proposed method was applied to the analyses of metals and chlorides of cobalt, nickel, and copper.  相似文献

The reactions of ruthenium(III), rhodium(III) and iridium(III) chlorides in molten lithium nitrite—sodium nitrite, lithium nitrite—potassium nitrit and sodium nitrite—potassium nitrite eutectics were studied and compared with those of their first row congeners. Ruthenium(III) reacted to form hexanitroruthenate(II) with the evolution of nitrogen dioxide, whereas rhodium(III) and iridium(III) formed hexanitrorhodate(III) and hexanitroiridate(III), respectively. These complexes decomposed at higher temperatures to form ruthenium(IV), rhodium(III) and iridium(IV) oxides, respectively, with the evolution of nitrogen oxides. The stoichiometries of these reactions were established by thermogravimetry and the products were characterized by their IR, visible and UV spectra, and X-ray diffraction patterns.  相似文献

The possibility of the sorption-spectrometric determination of zirconium(IV) and chromium(VI) from a single sample using a two-layer support made of polyacrylonitrile fiber filled with a PANF-KU-2 cation exchanger and PANF-AV-17 anion exchanger is studied. After sorption zirconium is determined with Arsenazo III on PANF-KU-2 and chromium is determined with 1,5-dipehnylcarbazide on PANF-AV-17. The sorption of zirconium and chromium is studied in the dynamic mode from solutions of HCl, HNO3, and H2SO4 and the optimal conditions of the simultaneous sorption of zirconium on PANF-KU-2 and chromium on PANF-AV-17 from 0.25 M HCl is chosen. Diffuse reflection spectra of zirconium and chromium complexes have are on the solid phase and the conditions of zirconium determination are optimized. Calibration curves are linear in the range of zirconium and chromium concentration 0.005–0.025 μg/mL; the detection limits are 0.002 μg/mL. The selectivity of zirconium and chromium determination is tested in the presence of interfering ions. A procedure is developed for their determination from a single sample at zirconium to chromium ratios from 3: 1 to 1: 3.  相似文献

A novel method is proposed for the solvent extraction of niobium(V). A 0.1M solution of Aliquat 336S in xylene quantitatively extracts microgram quantities of niobium(V) from 0.01M ascorbic acid at pH 3.5-6.5. Niobium from the organic phase is stripped with 0.5M nitric acid and determined spectrophotometrically in the aqueous phase as its complex with TAR. The method permits separation of niobium not only from tantalum(V) but also from vanadium(IV), titanium(IV), zirconium(IV), thorium(IV), chromium(III), molybdenum(VI), uranium(VI), iron(III), etc. Niobium from stainless steel was determined with a precision of 0.42%.  相似文献

Poly(acryldinitrophenylamidrazone-dinitroacrylphenylhydrazine) chelating fiber was synthesized from polyacrylonitrile fiber and used for enrichment and separation for traces of Au(III), Ru(III), In(III), Bi(III), Zr(IV), V(V), Ga(III) and Ti(IV) ions from solution samples. The acidity, rate, re-use, capacity and interference on the adsorption of ions on the chelating fiber as well as the conditions of desorption of these ions from the chelating fiber were investigated by means of inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry. The results show that 10-100 ngml(-1) of Au(III), Ru(III), In(III), Bi(III), Zr(IV), V(V), Ga(III) and Ti(IV) ions can be quantitatively enriched by the chelating fiber at a 2 mlmin(-1) of flow rate in the range pH 4-5, and desorbed quantitatively with 20 ml of 5 M HCl for In(III), Bi(III), Zr(IV), V(V), Ga(III), Ti(IV) and 20 ml of 4 M HCl+2% CS(NH(2))(2) solution for Au(III), Ru(III) (with recovery>95%). 50- to 500- fold excesses of Fe(III), Al(III), Mg(II), Mn(II), Ca(II), Cu(II), Ni(II) ions cause little interference in the concentration and determination of analyzed ions. When the fiber was reused for 8 times, the recoveries of the above ions enriched by the fiber were still over 87%. The relative standard deviations (RSDs) for the enrichment and determination of 10 ngml(-1) Au, Ru, In, Bi, Ga and 1 ngml(-1) Zr, V, Ti were lower than 3.0%. The results obtained for these ions in real solution samples by this method were basically in agreement with the given values with average errors of less than 6.3%. FT-IR spectra show that existence of NNCNHNH, OCNHNH and NO(2) functional groups are verified in chelating fiber, and Au(III) or Ru(III) is mainly combined with nitrogen (or oxygen) of the groups to form a chelate complex.  相似文献
