Central limit theorem: Covergence in the norm\left\| u \right\|\left( {\int\limits_{ - \infty }^\infty {u^2 \left( x \right)e^{\frac{{x^2 }}{2}} dx} } \right)^{{\raise0.7ex\hbox{

Sufficient conditions for convergence in the central limit theorem (for identically distributed random variables) with respect to the topology specified in the title are given. These conditions hold for the uniform distribution although there exist distributions with smooth densities concentrated on a bounded interval for which the convergence result does not hold.     

A note on the congruence \left( {_{mp^k }^{np^k } } \right) \equiv \left( {_m^n } \right) (mod p r )

In the paper we discuss the following type congruences: $$\left( {_{mp^k }^{np^k } } \right) \equiv \left( {_m^n } \right)(\bmod p^r ),$$ where p is a prime, n, m, k and r are various positive integers with n ? m ? 1, k ? 1 and r ? 1. Given positive integers k and r, denote by W(k, r) the set of all primes p such that the above congruence holds for every pair of integers n ? m ? 1. Using Ljunggren’s and Jacobsthal’s type congruences, we establish several characterizations of sets W(k, r) and inclusion relations between them for various values k and r. In particular, we prove that W(k + i, r) = W(k ? 1, r) for all k ? 2, i ? 0 and 3 ? r ? 3k, and W(k, r) = W(1, r) for all 3 ? r ? 6 and k ? 2. We also noticed that some of these properties may be used for computational purposes related to congruences given above.     

Some remarks on the moments of \left| {\varsigma \left( {\tfrac{1} {2} + it} \right)} \right| in short intervals

Some new results on power moments of the integral $$ J_k (t,G) = \frac{1} {{\sqrt {\pi G} }}\int_{ - \infty }^\infty { \left| {\varsigma \left( {\tfrac{1} {2} + it + iu} \right)} \right|^{2k} } e^{ - (u/G)^2 } du $$ (t ? T, T ^? ≦ G ? T, κ ∈ N) are obtained when κ = 1. These results can be used to derive bounds for moments of $ \left| {\varsigma \left( {\tfrac{1} {2} + it} \right)} \right| $ .     

On the diophantine equation F $$\left( {\left( {_n^x } \right)} \right) = b\left( {_m^y } \right)$$

As a generalization of the results of [3] and [22], we characterize those pairs (m,n) and those polynomials b{Z}[x] of prime degree for which equation (1) has only finitely many integer solutions.     

On the regularity of the locally integrable solutions of the functional equations $$\sum\limits_{i = 1}^k {a_i \left( {x,t} \right)f\left( {x + \varphi _i \left( t \right)} \right) = b\left( {x,t} \right)} $$

On some constacyclic codes over $$\mathbb {Z}_{4}\left[ u\right] /\left\langle u^{2}-1\right\rangle $$, their $$\mathbb {Z}_4$$Z4 images,and new codes

In this paper, we study \(\lambda \)-constacyclic codes over the ring \(R=\mathbb {Z}_4+u\mathbb {Z}_4\) where \(u^{2}=1\), for \(\lambda =3+2u\) and \(2+3u\). Two new Gray maps from R to \(\mathbb {Z}_4^{3}\) are defined with the goal of obtaining new linear codes over \(\mathbb {Z}_4\). The Gray images of \(\lambda \)-constacyclic codes over R are determined. We then conducted a computer search and obtained many \(\lambda \)-constacyclic codes over R whose \(\mathbb {Z}_4\)-images have better parameters than currently best-known linear codes over \(\mathbb {Z}_4\).     

Linear codes over {\mathbb{F}_2+u\mathbb{F}_2+v\mathbb{F}_2+uv\mathbb{F}_2}

In this work, we investigate linear codes over the ring ${\mathbb{F}_2+u\mathbb{F}_2+v\mathbb{F}_2+uv\mathbb{F}_2}$ . We first analyze the structure of the ring and then define linear codes over this ring which turns out to be a ring that is not finite chain or principal ideal contrary to the rings that have hitherto been studied in coding theory. Lee weights and Gray maps for these codes are defined by extending on those introduced in works such as Betsumiya et al. (Discret Math 275:43–65, 2004) and Dougherty et al. (IEEE Trans Inf 45:32–45, 1999). We then characterize the ${\mathbb{F}_2+u\mathbb{F}_2+v\mathbb{F}_2+uv\mathbb{F}_2}$ -linearity of binary codes under the Gray map and give a main class of binary codes as an example of ${\mathbb{F}_2+u\mathbb{F}_2+v\mathbb{F}_2+uv\mathbb{F}_2}$ -linear codes. The duals and the complete weight enumerators for ${\mathbb{F}_2+u\mathbb{F}_2+v\mathbb{F}_2+uv\mathbb{F}_2}$ -linear codes are also defined after which MacWilliams-like identities for complete and Lee weight enumerators as well as for the ideal decompositions of linear codes over ${\mathbb{F}_2+u\mathbb{F}_2+v\mathbb{F}_2+uv\mathbb{F}_2}$ are obtained.     

Cyclic DNA codes over the ring $$\mathbb {F}_2+u\mathbb {F}_2+v\mathbb {F}_2+uv\mathbb {F}_2+v^2\mathbb {F}_2+uv^2\mathbb {F}_2$$

We study the structure of cyclic DNA codes of odd length over the finite commutative ring \(R=\mathbb {F}_2+u\mathbb {F}_2+v\mathbb {F}_2+uv\mathbb {F}_2 + v^2\mathbb {F}_2+uv^2\mathbb {F}_2,~u^2=0, v^3=v\), which plays an important role in genetics, bioengineering and DNA computing. A direct link between the elements of the ring R and 64 codons used in the amino acids of living organisms is established by introducing a Gray map from R to \(R_1=\mathbb {F}_2+u\mathbb {F}_2 ~(u^2=0)\). The reversible and the reversible-complement codes over R are investigated. We also discuss the binary image of the cyclic DNA codes over R. Among others, some examples of DNA codes obtained via Gray map are provided.     

Some new estimates of the Fourier-Bessel transform in the space \mathbb{L}_2 \left( {\mathbb{R}_ + } \right)

The Fourier-Bessel integral transform $$g\left( x \right) = F\left[ f \right]\left( x \right) = \frac{1} {{2^p \Gamma \left( {p + 1} \right)}}\int\limits_0^{ + \infty } {t^{2p + 1} f\left( x \right)j_p \left( {xt} \right)dt}$$ is considered in the space $\mathbb{L}_2 \left( {\mathbb{R}_ + } \right)$ . Here, j _p (u) = ((2 ^p Γ(p+1))/(u ^p ))J _p (u) and J _p (u) is a Bessel function of the first kind. New estimates are proved for the integral $$\delta _N^2 \left( f \right) = \int\limits_N^{ + \infty } {x^{2p + 1} g^2 \left( x \right)dx, N > 0,}$$ in $\mathbb{L}_2 \left( {\mathbb{R}_ + } \right)$ for some classes of functions characterized by a generalized modulus of continuity.     

Some results on linear codes over the ring $$\mathbb {Z}_4+u\mathbb {Z}_4+v\mathbb {Z}_4+uv\mathbb {Z}_4$$

In this paper, we mainly study the theory of linear codes over the ring \(R =\mathbb {Z}_4+u\mathbb {Z}_4+v\mathbb {Z}_4+uv\mathbb {Z}_4\). By using the Chinese Remainder Theorem, we prove that R is isomorphic to a direct sum of four rings. We define a Gray map \(\Phi \) from \(R^{n}\) to \(\mathbb {Z}_4^{4n}\), which is a distance preserving map. The Gray image of a cyclic code over R is a linear code over \(\mathbb {Z}_4\). We also discuss some properties of MDS codes over R. Furthermore, we study the MacWilliams identities of linear codes over R and give the generator polynomials of cyclic codes over R.     

The Isometric Extension of an Into Mapping from the Unit Sphere S（t（2）^∞） to S（L^1（μ））

This is the first paper to consider the isometric extension problem of an into-mapping between the unit spheres of two different types of spaces. We prove that, under some conditions, an into-isometric mapping from the unit sphere S（t（2）^∞） to S（L^1（μ） can be （real） linearly isometrically extended.     

Approximations of some logarithms by numbers from the fields \mathbb{Q} and \mathbb{Q}\left( {\sqrt {d} } \right)

Estimates for approximations to logarithms of rational numbers by rational numbers and quadratic irrationalities are established.     

On the Dynamics of x_{\bf{n} + \bf{1}} = {{ \mgreek{a} + \mgreek{g} x_{n-1} + \mgreek{d} x_{n-2}} \over {A + x_{n-2}}}

We investigate the global stability, the periodic character and the boundedness nature of solutions of the equation in the title for all admissible nonnegative values of the parameters and the initial conditions. We show that the solutions exhibit a trichotomy character depending on how the parameter γ compares to the sum of the parameters δ and A.     

Effect of a random real on\kappa \to \left( {\kappa ,{\text{ }}\left( {_{\omega _1 }^\alpha } \right)} \right)^2

It is consistent that $\kappa \to (\kappa ,{\text{ }}\left( {_{\omega _1 }^\alpha } \right))^2 $ holds in the random extension.
