Ce3+ and Dy3+ activated Li2CaGeO4 phosphors were prepared by a solid-state reaction method, and characterized by XRD (X-ray diffraction) and photoluminescence techniques. The characteristic emission bands of Dy3+ due to 4F9/26H15/2 (blue) and 4F9/26H13/2 (yellow) transitions were detected in the emission spectra of Li2CaGeO4:Dy3+. Ce3+ broad band emission was observed in Li2CaGeO4:Ce3+ phosphors at 372 and 400 nm due to 5d→4f transition when excited at 353 nm. Co-doping of Ce3+ enhanced the luminescence of Dy3+ significantly and concentration quenching occurs when Dy3+ is beyond 0.04 mol%. White-light with different hues can be realized by tuning Dy3+ concentration in the phosphors.  相似文献

This report presents the luminescence properties of Ce3+ and Pr3+ activated Sr2Mg(BO3)2 under VUV-UV and X-ray excitation. The five excitation bands of crystal field split 5d states are observed at about 46 729, 44 643, 41 667, 38 314 and 29 762 cm−1 (i.e. 214, 224, 240, 261 and 336 nm) for Ce3+ in the host lattice. The doublet Ce3+ 5d→4f emission bands were found at about 25 840 and 24 096 cm−1 (387 and 415 nm). The influence of doping concentration and temperature on the emission characteristics and the decay time of Ce3+ in Sr2Mg(BO3)2 were investigated. For Pr3+ doped samples, the lowest 5d excitation band was observed at about 42017 cm−1 (238 nm), a dominant band at around 35714 cm−1 (280 nm) and two shoulder bands were seen in the emission spectra. The excitation and emission spectra of Ce3+ and Pr3+ were compared and discussed. The X-ray excited luminescence studies show that the light yields are ∼3200±230 and ∼1400±100 photons/MeV of absorbed X-ray energy for the samples Sr1.86Ce0.07Na0.07Mg(BO3)2 and Sr1.82Pr0.09Na0.09Mg(BO3)2 at RT, respectively.  相似文献

Non-radiative energy transfers (ET) from Ce3+ to Pr3+ in Y3Al5O12:Ce3+, Pr3+ and from Sm3+ to Eu3+ in CaMoO4:Sm3+, Eu3+ are studied based on photoluminescence spectroscopy and fluorescence decay patterns. The result indicates an electric dipole-dipole interaction that governs ET in the LED phosphors. For Ce3+ concentration of 0.01 in YAG:Ce3+, Pr3+, the rate constant and critical distance are evaluated to be 4.5×10−36 cm6 s−1 and 0.81 nm, respectively. An increase in the red emission line of Pr3+ relative to the yellow emission band of Ce3+, on increasing Ce3+ concentration is observed. This behavior is attributed to the increase of spectral overlap integrals between Ce3+ emission and Pr3+ excitation due to the fact that the yellow band shifts to the red spectral side with increasing Ce3+ concentration. In CaMoO4:Sm3+, Eu3+, Sm3+-Eu3+ transfer occurs from 4G5/2 of Sm3+ to 5D0 of Eu3+. The rate constant of 8.5×10−40 cm6 s−1 and the critical transfer distance of 0.89 nm are evaluated.  相似文献

Here we reported that the optical properties of novel blue-emitting Ce3+ activated XMg2Al16O27 (X = Ba, Sr) phosphors were prepared by combustion method successfully. The excitation spectrum shows a broad band extending from 280 to 380 nm, centered at 355 nm, and the emission spectrum shows intense blue emission broad band centering at 441 nm for Ba2+ and Sr2+ host lattices. XRD pattern indicates crystalline nature of prepared phosphors. SEM analysis shows morphology of the ternary-hexaaluminate based phosphor prepared by combustion method. The Ce3+ activated XMg2Al16O27 (X = Ba, Sr) should be a promising blue phosphor for near ultraviolet-based white-light-emitting diodes.  相似文献

The Ce3+ ion was introduced into Er3+ doped TeO2-GeO2-Nb2O5-Li2O (TGNL) glass to improve the 1.5 μm fluorescence characteristics. As increasing of Ce3+ concentration, the lifetime of Er3+:4I11/2 level is shortened form 360 to 225 μs, while the Er3+:4I13/2 level remains unchanged. Accordingly, the upconversion fluorescence (blue, green and red) was quenched. Improved 1.5 μm emission is obtained and the reason is ascribed to the increase of nonradiative rate between the 4I11/2 and 4I13/2 level of the Er3+ ions.  相似文献

Polycrystalline Ca2BO3Cl:Ce3+,Eu2+ phosphors were synthesized by a solid-state reaction and which could display tunable color emission from blue to yellow under an ultraviolet (UV) source by adjusting the ratio of Ce3+ and Eu2+ appropriately. The mechanism of resonance-type energy transfer from Ce3+ to Eu2+ was established to be electric dipole-dipole natured, and the critical distance was estimated to be 31 Å based on the spectral overlap and concentration quenching model. A white light was obtained from Ca2BO3Cl:0.06Ce3+,0.01Eu2+ phosphor with chromaticity coordinates (x=0.31, y=0.29) and relative color temperature of 7330 K upon excitation with 360 nm, which is potentially a good candidate as an UV-convertible phosphor for white light-emitting diodes (LEDs).  相似文献

A series of silica doped with different mol percentages of Ce3+ concentration was synthesized using a sol-gel method to determine the dependence of photoluminescence wavelengths and intensity on the concentrations of the dopants. Sol-gel glasses are porous networks that have been densified through chemical processing and heat treatment. Rare-earths (REs) are insoluble in silica; due to this insolubility RE ions in silicate glasses enter as network modifiers and compete for non-bridging oxygen in order to complete their coordination. The morphological, structural, thermal and optical properties of the phosphors were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, UV-vis absorption, photoluminescence, thermogravimetric analyses and differential scanning calorimeter. Silica (SiO2) gel containing Ce3+ ions was sputter coated with Au (gold) in order to monitor surface morphology of the samples. The highest emission intensity was found for the sample with a composition of 0.5 mol% Ce3+. Cerium doped silica glasses had broad blue emission corresponding to the 2D3/2-2FJ transition at 448 nm but exhibited apparent concentration quenching above concentrations of 0.5 mol% Ce3+.  相似文献

For LiYF4:Ce3+, LiLuF4:Ce3+ and LuF3:Ce3+ crystals UV/visible emission and time-resolved VUV/UV excitation spectra were recorded at liquid helium temperature with spectral resolution of 0.1 nm for excitation spectra and better than 0.3 nm for emission spectra. Well resolved fine structures due to zero-phonon lines were clearly observed in both excitation and emission spectra for LiYF4:Ce3+ and LiLuF4:Ce3+. For LuF3:Ce3+ crystal no fine structure was detected in the spectra even at the highest spectral resolution. Under the host excitation, the fine structure for high-energy emission band of Ce3+ (5d-2F5/2) in LiLuF4:Ce3+ becomes well pronounced because of weaker reabsorption effect, as compared to Ce3+ 4f-5d absorption, due to small penetration depth for exciting radiation. As a result the crystal-field splitting for 2F7/2 and 2F5/2 levels of Ce3+ in LiLuF4 crystal was measured. First observation of zero-phonon lines at ∼81,550 and ∼82,900 cm−1 as well as vibronic side bands due to interconfigurational 4f14-4f135d transitions in Lu3+ is reported for excitation spectrum of LiLuF4:Ce3+.  相似文献

CaSO4 exists in several phases. The most common phase of CaSO4 is orthorhombic and reported Ce3+ emission corresponds to this phase. However, significant change in the emission of Ce3+ is observed when CaSO4 crystallizes in hexagonal phases. The emission is observed at 354 nm as compared to the spilt band at 305 and 326 nm for the orthorhombic phase. The preparation procedure and photoluminescence spectra for orthorhombic and hexagonal phases are described in this paper.  相似文献

The spectroscopic properties in UV-excitable range for the phosphors of Sr3La2(BO3)4:RE3+ (RE3+=Eu3+, Ce3+, Tb3+) were investigated. The phosphors were synthesized by conventional solid-state reactions. The photoluminescence (PL) spectra and commission international de I'Eclairage (CIE) coordinates of Sr3La2(BO3)4:RE3+ were investigated. The f-d transitions of Eu3+, Ce3+ and Tb3+ in the host lattices are assumed and corroborated. The PL and PL excitation (PLE) spectra indicate that the main emission wavelength of Sr3La2(BO3)4:Eu3+ is 611 nm, and Sr3La2(BO3)4:Ce3+ shows dominating emission peak at 425 nm, while Sr3La2(BO3)4:Tb3+ displays green emission at 487, 542, 582 and 620 nm. These phosphors were prepared by simple solid-state reaction at 1000 °C. There are lower reactive temperature and more convenient than commercial phosphors. The Sr3La2(BO3)4:Tb3+ applied to cold cathode fluorescent lamp was found to emit green light and have a major peak wavelength at around 542 nm. These phosphors may provide a new kind of luminescent materials under ultraviolet excitation.  相似文献

CePO4:Tb nanorods were synthesized via a simple wet-chemical route. The as-synthesized CePO4:Tb nanorods present high photoluminescence efficiency due to an efficient energy transfer form Ce3+ to Tb3+. However, heat treatment at 150 °C in air leads to a significant decrease of photoluminescence. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and excitation spectra revealed the oxidation of Ce3+ to Ce4+ in the heat-treatment process, which should be responsible for significant photoluminescence degradation due to the breakage of Ce3+→Tb3+ energy transfer. This conclusion is further supported by atmosphere and size effects of photoluminescence of CePO4:Tb under the heat treatment.  相似文献

The up-conversion (UC) and near infrared (NIR) luminescence of Er3+/Yb3+ co-doped phosphate glass are investigated. In the UC emission range, the 523 nm, 546 nm green emissions and the 659 nm red emission are observed. With the increasing pump power, the intensity ratios of I523/I659, I546/I659 and I523/I546 increase gradually. The phenomenon is reasonably interpreted by theoretical analysis based on steady state rate equations. The emission cross section of the infrared emission at 1546 nm is larger (about 6.7 × 10− 21 cm2), which is suitable for making fiber amplifier.  相似文献

We presented the energy transfer from Ce3+ to Eu2+ in CaAl2Si2O8 host. The Ce3+-doped CaAl2Si2O8 phosphor had a strong emission band at 378 nm under the vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) light. This emission spectrum of Ce3+ well overlapped with the excitation spectrum of Eu2+ under the UV illumination. As a result, the energy transfer from Ce3+ to Eu2+ in CaAl2Si2O8 matrix was observed under VUV excitation, which resulted in a significant enhancement of the emission peak intensity at 446 nm. More details about the luminescent properties were presented.  相似文献

The Mn-, Cr-doped and Mn, Cr-co-doped MgAl2O4 powders have been synthesized via a gel-solid reaction method. Energy transfer from Mn2+ to Cr3+ has been observed for the first time in the co-doped MgAl2O4 phosphors. When excited with blue light with a wavelength of 450 nm at room temperature, both green emission from Mn2+ around 520 nm and red emission from Cr3+ around 675and 693 nm were generated. Moreover, the color of the emission can be modified by controlling the doping concentrations of Mn2+ and Cr3+. Therefore, MgAl2O4: Mn2+, Cr3+ could be used as a single-phased phosphor for white LED with a blue LED chip. The energy transfer in terms of Mn2+ to Cr3+ is determined by means of radiation and reabsorption.  相似文献

In this paper, we report enhanced luminescence of Mg-co-doped silica gels, which were prepared by a sol-gel method. The total amount of Ce3+ ions was kept constant in this experiment at 0.5 mol% total doping. Structural, morphological, thermal, optical absorption and photoluminescence studies were employed. The XRD spectra show that all the samples are non-crystalline. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images show that the particles were in nano-range and spherical in shape. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) of samples depict that the presence of dopant and co-dopant decreases the endothermic peak temperature; while Ce3+ increase the yield, Mg2+ reduces it. UV analyses revealed that the presence of Ce3+ ions increases transmittance but lowers absorbance of annealed silica xerogels, while that of Mg2+ ions reduces transmittance but increases absorbance. Luminescence intensities were compared for different gels with and without Mg particles by varying the different concentrations of Mg. Silica containing Mg2+ ions had broad blue emission due to energy transfer from Mg2+ to Ce3+, which is due to radiative recombination. An increase in luminescence intensity was observed as the Mg2+ to Ce3+ ratio increased for the range investigated.  相似文献

Oxonitridosilicate phosphors with compositions of (Y1−xCex)2Si3O3N4 (x=0−0.2) have been synthesized by solid state reaction method. The structures and photoluminescence properties have been investigated. Ce3+ ions have substituted for Y3+ ions in the lattice. The emission and excitation spectra of these phosphors show the characteristic photoluminescence spectra of Ce3+ ions. Based on the analyses of the diffuse reflection spectra and the PL spectra, a systematic energy diagram of Ce3+ ion in the forbidden band of sample with x=0.02 is given. The best doping Ce content in these phosphors is ∼2 mol%. The quenching temperature is ∼405 K for the 2 mol% Ce content sample. The luminescence decay properties were investigated. The primary studies indicate that these phosphors are potential candidates for application in three-phosphor-converted white LEDs.  相似文献

In this paper we report the combustion synthesis of trivalent rare-earth (RE3+ = Dy, Eu and Ce) activated Sr4Al2O7 phosphor. The prepared phosphors were characterized by the X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and photoluminescence (PL) techniques. Photoluminescence emission peaks of Sr4Al2O7:Dy3+ phosphor at 474 nm and 578 nm in the blue and yellow region of the spectrum. The prepared Eu3+ doped phosphors were excited by 395 nm then we found that the characteristics emission of europium ions at 615 nm (5D0?7F2) and 592 nm (5D0?7F1). Photoluminescence (PL) peaks situated at wavelengths of 363 and 378 nm in the UV region under excitation at around 326 nm in the Sr4Al2O7:Ce3+ phosphor.  相似文献

The luminescence properties of Ce3+ in La3F3[Si3O9] are reported. Excitation and emission bands corresponding to 4f1→5d1 transitions of Ce3+ were identified. The center of gravity of the 5d states lies at remarkable high energy (43.2×103 cm−1) for Ce3+ in a silicate compound. This high value is attributed to the combined oxygen/fluoride coordination of the Ce3+ ion. Emission from the lowest 4f5d level to the 2F5/2 and 2F7/2 levels was found at 32.4×103 and 30.4×103 cm−1. These results are compared with literature data on silicates and fluorides. From the values found for Ce3+, predictions are made for the positions of the 4f5d bands of Pr3+ and Er3+ in La3F3[Si3O9]. For both ions, it is concluded that in this host lattice emission is expected from high lying 4fn energy levels.  相似文献

Luminescence of the Bi3+ single and dimer centers in UV and visible ranges is studied in YAG:Bi (0.13 and 0.27 at% of Bi, respectively) single crystalline films (SCFs), grown by liquid phase epitaxy from a Bi2O3 flux. The cathodoluminescence spectra, photoluminescence decays, and time-resolved spectra are measured under the excitation by accelerated electrons and synchrotron radiation with energies of 3.7 and 12 eV, respectively. The energy level structure of the Bi3+ single and dimer centers was determined. The UV luminescence of YAG:Bi SCF in the bands that peaked at 4.045 and 3.995 eV at 300 K is caused by radiative transitions of Bi3+ single and dimer centers, respectively. The excitation spectra of UV luminescence of Bi3+ single and dimer centers consist of two dominant bands, peaked at 4.7/4.315 and 5.7/6.15 eV, related to the 1S03P1 (A band) and 1S01P1 (C-band) transitions of Bi3+ ions, respectively. The excitation bands that peaked at 7.0 and 7.09 eV are ascribed to excitons bound with the Bi3+ single and dimer centers, respectively. The visible luminescence of YAG:Bi SCF presents superposition of several wide emission bands peaking within the 3.125-2.57 eV range and is ascribed to different types of excitons localized around the Bi3+ single and dimer centers. Apart from the above mentioned A and C bands the excitation spectra of visible luminescence contain wide bands at 5.25, 5.93, and 6.85 eV ascribed to the O2−→Bi3+ and Bi3+→Bi4+ + e charge transfer transition (CTT) in Bi3+ single and dimer centers. The observed significant differences in the decay kinetics of visible luminescence under excitation in A and C bands of Bi3+ ions, CTT bands, and in the exciton and interband transitions confirm the radiative decay of different types of excitons localized around Bi3+ ions in the single and dimer centers.  相似文献

BaAl2O4:Eu2+,Nd3+,Gd3+ phosphors were prepared by a combustion method at different initiating temperatures (400–1200 °C), using urea as a comburent. The powders were annealed at different temperatures in the range of 400–1100 °C for 3 h. X-ray diffraction data show that the crystallinity of the BaAl2O4 structure greatly improved with increasing annealing temperature. Blue-green photoluminescence, with persistent/long afterglow, was observed at 498 nm. This emission was attributed to the 4f65d1–4f7 transitions of Eu2+ ions. The phosphorescence decay curves were obtained by irradiating the samples with a 365 nm UV light. The glow curves of the as-prepared and the annealed samples were investigated in this study. The thermoluminescent (TL) glow peaks of the samples prepared at 600 °C and 1200 °C were both stable at ∼72 °C suggesting that the traps responsible for the bands were fixed at this position irrespective of annealing temperature. These bands are at a similar position, which suggests that the traps responsible for these bands are similar. The rate of decay of the sample annealed at 600 °C was faster than that of the sample prepared at 1200 °C.  相似文献
