A Legendre Galerkin–Chebyshev collocation method for Burgers-likeequations is developed. This method is based on the Legendre–Galerkinvariational form, but the nonlinear term and the right-handterm are treated by Chebyshev–Gauss interpolation. Errorestimates of the semi-discrete scheme and the fully discretescheme are given in the L2-norm. Numerical results indicatethat our method is as stable and accurate as the standard Legendrecollocation method, and as efficient and easy to implement asthe standard Chebyshev collocation method.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the 3D compressible magnetohydrodynamic equations. We obtain a blow up criterion for the local strong solutions just in terms of the gradient of the velocity, similar to the Beal-Kato-Majda criterion (see J.T. Beal, T. Kato and A. Majda (1984) [1]) for the ideal incompressible flow. In addition, initial vacuum is allowed in our case.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to studying the modified b-family of equations with cubic nonlinearity, called the b-family of FORQ/MCH equations, which includes the cubic Camassa–Holm equation (also called Fokas–Olver–Rosenau–Qiao equation) as a special case. We first study the local well-posedness for the Cauchy problem of the equation, and then make good use of fine structure of the equation, we derive the precise blow-up scenario and a new blow-up result with respect to initial data. The problem of the estimating of a blow-up time for solutions of Volterra nonlinear integral equation with convolution kernel is studied. New estimates, lower and upper, are found and, moreover, the procedure for the improvement of the lower estimate is presented. Main results are illustrated by examples. A class of fourth order parabolic equation is studied in this paper. Some related blow-up results are obtained by applying the potential well theory, the concavity method and a series of differential-integral inequality techniques. More precisely, under some proper assumptions, the upper and lower bounds of the blow-up time and the growth rate for blow-up solutions are estimated. Moreover, a new blow-up condition independent of the depth of the potential well is found. These results complement the recent results obtained in Han (2018).  相似文献

We study the blow-up of solutions of nonlinear heat equations in dimension 1. We show that for an open set of even initial data which are characterized roughly by having maxima at the origin, the solutions blow up in finite time and at a single point. We find the universal blow-up profile and remainder estimates. Our results extend previous results in several directions and our techniques differ from the techniques previously used for this problem. In particular, they do not rely on maximum principle.  相似文献

This paper deals with heat equations coupled via exponential and power nonlinearities, subject to null Dirichlet boundary conditions. The complete and optimal classification on non-simultaneous and simultaneous blow-ups is proposed by four sufficient and necessary conditions. We find out that, in some exponent region, the blow-up properties of the solutions depend much on the choosing of initial data. Moreover, all kinds of non-simultaneous and simultaneous blow-up rates are obtained.  相似文献

A system of nonlinear Volterra integral equations with convolution kernels is considered. Estimates are given for the blow-up time when conditions are such that the solution is known to become unbounded in finite time. For two examples that arise in combustion problems, numerical estimates of blow-up time are presented. Additionally, the asymptotic behavior of the blow-up solution in the key limit is established for the power-law and exponential nonlinearity cases.  相似文献

This paper deals with the blow-up of positive solutions for a nonlinear reaction-diffusion equation subject to nonlinear boundary conditions. We obtain the conditions under which the solutions may exist globally or blow up in finite time. Moreover, an upper bound of the blow-up time, an upper estimate of the blow-up rate, and an upper estimate of the global solutions are given. At last we give two examples to which the theorems obtained in the paper may be applied.  相似文献

In this paper we develop a blow-up analysis for solutions of an elliptic PDE of Liouville type over the plane. Such solutions describe the behavior of cosmic strings (parallel in a given direction) for a W-boson model coupled with Einstein's equation. We show how the blow-up behavior of the solutions is characterized, according to the physical parameters involved, by new and surprising phenomena. For example in some cases, after a suitable scaling, the blow-up profile of the solution is described in terms of an equations that bares a geometrical meaning in the context of the “uniformization” of the Riemann sphere with conical singularities.  相似文献

This paper deals with the global existence and blow-up of nonnegative solution of the degenerate reaction-diffusion system with nonlinear localized sources involved a product with local terms. We investigate the influence of localized sources and local terms on global existence and blow up for this system. Moreover, we establish the precise blow-up estimates. Finally, for the special case p1=p2=0, we show the blow-up set is whole region and the uniform blow-up profiles are obtained. These extend a resent work of Chen and Xie in [Y. Chen, C. Xie, Blow-up for a porous medium equation with a localized source, Appl. Math. Comput. 159 (2004) 79-93], which considered the single equation with localized sources.  相似文献
