The K+ meson (kaon) inelastic excitation of low-lying (Ex = 0–15 MeV) T = 0 collective states in 16O is theoretically studied as a function of energy and momentum transfer. The distorted wave impulse approximation is used to calculate angular distributions and total inelastic cross sections for exciting the first Jπ = 2+, 3?, 4+ and 5? states at lab energies from threshold to 400 MeV. The distortions are represented in a Kisslinger-type optical potential constructed from elementary K+-nucleon amplitudes. Total nuclear elastic and reaction K+-nucleus cross sections are computed to demonstrate sensitivity to choice in K+-nucleon amplitudes. Fermi motion effects are also assessed using a simple averaging procedure. The weak absorption character of the kaon is reflected in the inelastic calculations which predict selective excitation of low spin states at low momentum transfer and high spin states at high momentum transfer.  相似文献

Cross sections have been measured for the elastic and inelastic scattering of electrons from 70Ge and 72Ge for momentum transfers from 0.65 to 1.14 fm?1. Values for the parameters of a Fermi type ground-state charge distribution were obtained from a phase shift analysis of the elastic cross sections. The rms charge radius corresponding to these parameters is 4.07±0.02 fm for 70Ge and 4.05±0.03 fm for 72Ge. Using DWBA analysis the reduced transition probabilities for the electroexcitation of the 21+ and 31? states were found to be: B(E2, ω)↑ = 19.7±1.2, 26.8±2.0 W.u.; B(E3, ω)↑ = 36±5, 37±7 W.u. for 70Ge and 72Ge respectively. The Jπ = 3? assignments for the state at 2.562 MeV in 70Ge and 2.515 MeV in 72Ge are confirmed.  相似文献

Asymptotic SU(4) symmetry is imposed on generalised vector dominance models with off-diagonal terms, relating the magnitudes of these terms in the various sectors V = ?, ω, φ, ψ. While the structure functions are modified, their ratios remain similar to those of the diagonal model. Strangeness and charm production are suppressed for low Q2 < Mφ2, Mψ2 respectively.  相似文献

The differential cross section of the reaction (γp → pφ) has been measured in the t range 0 ? t ? 0.4 GeV2 and for photon energies from 3.0 to 6.7 GeV. In particular for the small t region the measurement accuracy was better than 10%. We obtained for the slope parameter B in an exponential parametrization of the differential cross section dσ/dt = Ae?Bt values of B ? 6 ± 0.5 GeV?2 which are significantly larger than the slopes obtained by most other experiments at higher t values. This indicates a t dependence of B particularly in the small t region.An energy dependence of the optical point (dσ/dt)t=0, observed in our measurements, has been explained as a kinematic effect due to the VDM relation. A fit of our measurements is in excellent agreement with all other published values of (dσ/dt)t=0(γp → φp), this implies that σtot(φp) must be essentially energy independent in this energy range.Spin density matrix elements of the φ have been evaluated and an analysis of the helicity amplitudes has been carried out. This analysis confirmed s-channel helicity conservation. Moments of spherical harmonics of the KK angular decay distribution have been computed for 10 MeV KK mass-bins from threshold to 1.3 GeV. The mass dependence of the normalized moments is generally smooth. Contributing amplitudes have essentially only even moments. The moment 〈Y20〉/〈Y00〉 changes sign above the φ mass.Differential cross sections for the inelastic φ production γp → φX have been evaluated for the first time both with respect to t?tmin and MK. The integrated inelastic cross sections are comparable in size with the elastic ones. The slopes of the differential cross sections dσ/dt appear to become flatter with increasing MX.  相似文献

Backward production of ω(1670) is observed in the reactions K?p→φ+φ?ω0Λ0 and K?p→φ+φ?φ0φ0 for |U'Λ|<1.0 GeV2. The cross section for the ω(1670) →φ+φ?ω0 decay mode is 1.90±0.35 μb for 8.25 GeV/c incident K?. Evidence is presented for the importance of the sequential decay, ω(1670) → Bφωφφ with a branching ratio ω(1670) → Bφ/all ω(1670) → ωφφ=1.0±0.250.00.  相似文献

Uhlmann's transition probability P(ψ, φ) of two normal states of a von Neumann algebra M, which is the supremum of |(Ψ, Φ)|2 for all possible choices of representative vectors Ψ and Φ of ψ and φ, is shown to be the infimum of (∫d(μψ, e)1/2)2 for the induced measures μω, e(B)=ω(e(B)) (B: Borel set in ℝ, ω=ψ, φ) for all possible projection-valued measures e belonging to M.  相似文献

Cross sections for scattering of N2 (j=0) molecules on He atoms have been calculated for relative energies below 5 · 10?3 eV (58 °K). The time independent scattering formalism ofArthurs andDalgarno was used together with an assumed Lennard-Jones type potential with anisotropicP 2(cos?) terms in the attractive and repulsive parts. The resulting system of coupled differential equations was solved in the distorted wave and close coupling approximations for the differential and integral cross sections for elastic and inelastic (j=0→j=2) scattering. In the integral inelastic cross section several sharp resonances were found to contribute 40% to the cross section at energies below 40 °K. The resonance peaks are attributed to orbiting or short-lived compound states since they are also observed in the elastic cross section at energies which are lower by the excitation energy of 1.5 · 10?3 eV. Finally, the effect of varying the potential parameters on the integral inelastic cross section was studied at 50 °K and a rough formula for the cross section as a function of the parameters is obtained. The formula shows that a certain ratio of repulsive and attractive anisotropies leads to a small inelastic cross section indicating a mutual cancellation.  相似文献

The charge exchange and excitation cross sections at collisions of alphas with O4+(1s 22s 2) impurity atoms in a hot plasma for striking energies E c varying from 20 keV to 2 MeV are determined for the first time. The cross sections are calculated using the method of close-coupling equations with 13 singlet four-electron quasi-molecular states taken as a basis. The partial cross sections of charge transfer to the 1s, 2s, and 2p states of a He+ ion and for O4+(1s 22s 2) → O4+(1s 22lnl’) (n = 2, 3) electronic excitation of an oxygen ion are found. The maximal value of the charge exchange total cross section roughly equals 2.2 × 10?16 cm2 at E c ≈ 0.7 MeV. The excitation total cross section has a maximum of ≈ 7.7 × 10?16 cm2 at E c ≈ 80 keV for single-electron excitation and ≈6.5 × 10?16 cm2 at E c ≈ 0.7 MeV for two-electron excitation.  相似文献

Differential cross sections for inelastic antineutrino interaction with a helium atom are calculated. It is shown that, in the energy-transfer range extending up to 1 keV, the cross sections in question are considerably enhanced in the electromagnetic-interaction channel in relation to the cross sections for elastic scattering on a free electron. Absolute cross-section values are of interest in searches for the antineutrino magnetic moment, provided that its value in Bohr magneton units falls within the range (10?13?10?12)µB.  相似文献

The (α, 12C) reaction has been studied on a variety of nuclei, A = 16 to 40, at Eα = 90.3 MeV. The data indicate a rapid fall-off of cross sections with increasing target mass, approximately as At?5 ± 1. This and other systematics are used to estimate cross sections for multi-α-cluster transfer reactions in heavy nuclei and suggest σT < 10?34 cm2 consistent with present experimental limits. The data for 24Mg(α, 12C)16O has been studied in more detail and indicates a selective population of final states including 16O g.s., with oscillatory angular distributions in some instances. Finite-range distorted-wave Born approximation calculations for direct 8Be pickup have been performed utilizing cluster overlap amplitudes obtained with zero-order SU(3) wave functions. The calculations are in qualitative, and often quantitative, agreement with shapes and absolute magnitudes of the measured angular distributions although the cross sections for certain α-cluster states (2+, Ex ≈ 7 MeV; 4+, Ex ≈ 10.3 MeV) are greatly overestimated with this model. Other more complicated mechanisms, such as successive α-transfer, cannot be excluded. The systematics of the calculated 8Be cluster overlaps and the calculated and measured (α, 12C) cross sections are investigated, and implications for multi-α-cluster transfer reactions are discussed.  相似文献

The thickness, xs, of the effective surface region, defined as the region in which an electron travelling inside a material experiences surface excitations, as well as Begrenzungs effect, i.e. the variation of the bulk inelastic cross section in the surface region are theoretically determined for aluminium and silicon using the QUEELS-ε(k,ω)-REELS software. This software allows to determine the energy-differential inelastic electron scattering cross sections for reflection-electron-energy-loss spectroscopy (REELS) within the dielectric response theory. This study has been carried out for electron energies between 300 eV and 5000 eV. We find that the bulk inelastic cross section decreases exponentially with the distance to the surface, that xs is practically independent of electron incidence and exit angles and that xs=[2(vB)0.4/ωs]v0.6, where ωs is the surface plasmon frequency, v the electron velocity and vB the Bohr velocity ().  相似文献

It is shown that contact electromagnetic terms in the photo- and electroproduction exclusive channels can account for a substantial amount of the inclusive real and virtual γp total cross sections. In particular, one gets σ(γp)exp?σVMD (?, ω, φ) + σ(contact) for Q2=0 and hence no infinite vector mesons (GVMD) seem to be required. The same result is valid for Q2<0. Decays of the J/ψ (3.1) resonance into final states with four charged and one neutral pion have been investigated. We measured the branching ratios J/ψ (3.1) → fω/all = 0.40 ± 0.14)% and J/ψ (3.1) → (B+π? + B?π+)/all = (0.28 ± 0.07)%.  相似文献

Differential elastic and inelastic neutron scattering cross sections for 182W and 184W have been measured at incident energies 4.87 and 6.00 MeV. Cross sections for the first (0+, 2+, 4+, 6+), second (0+, 2+), and some higher excitations are presented. Angular distributions exhibit direct reaction characteristics, suggesting that compound cross sections for these states are small. This is supported by statistical-model calculations. Coupled-channel calculations of cross sections are made using a phenomenological deformed optical potential. Quadrupole and hexadecapole deformations have been searched to optimize fits. The necessity of introducing a β6 deformation is investigated. Electric multipole transition matrix elements, used in the coupled-channel analysis, are obtained from the rotation-vibration model and the dynamic-deformation theory.  相似文献

Differential cross sections for backward π?d elastic scattering (?1 ≦ cos θc.m ≦ ?0.98) have been measured at fourteen momenta from 0.98 to 1.76 GeV/c and at 2.45 GeV/c. Energy dependence of the cross section exibits a new wide structure at √s ≈ 2.9 GeV. Possible mechanisms of the reaction accounting for this structure are presented. Neutron total cross sections of 6Li are measured at intervals of ? 10 keV from ≈ 0.1 to 4.8 MeV with precisions of ≈ 1 to 3 %. Differential elastic scattering cross sections are measured at intervals of ? 100 keV from 1.5 to 4.0 MeV at 10 or more scattering angles distributed between ≈ 20 and 160 deg. Differential inelastic scattering cross sections are measured at selected angles in the energy range 3.5 to 4.0 MeV. The experimental results are analyzed in terms of R-matrix theory and the model parameters used to deduce the 6Li(n,α) cross sections. The implications of the measurements and their interpretation on the level structure of 7Li and the reaction mechanisms are discussed.  相似文献

Combining the Okubo-Zweig-Iizuka rule in the decay φ→ρπ→π+π?π0 with the ρ→4π decay amplitudes, we calculate the φ→2π+?π0 and φ→π+π?0 ones. The partial widths of the above φ decays are evaluated, and the excitation curves in e+e? annihilation are obtained, assuming reasonable particular relations among the parameters characterizing the anomalous terms of the HLS Lagrangian. The evaluated branching ratios Bφ→π+π?0 ≈ 2 × 10?7 and Bφ→2π+?π0 ≈ 7 × 10?7 are such that, with the luminosity L=500 pb?1 attained at DAΦNE φ factory, one may already possess about 1685 events of the decays φ→5π.  相似文献

The 8B solar neutrino-induced 37Cl(νe, e?)37 Ar cross section is obtained using weak matrix elements from a recent model calculation to complement existing experimental data: ω8Bmodel=(1.27 ± 0.01) x 10?42cm2. More generally, constraints that can be placed on this cross section by a model-independent analysis are considered and yield ω8Bmodel=(1.27 ± 0.23) x 10?42 cm2.  相似文献

It is shown that recent measurements of field ion energy distributions from clean tungsten surfaces probe the density of metal states in the vicinity of the surface. We find j(ω) = (2π/kh)Σm| ∫ d3m(r)γz|2δ(ω??m), where j(ω) is the ion current a ω, ψmand ?m are electronic metal eigenfunctions and eigenvalues in the presence of the external electric field used in field ionization and γ(z) is a function which is large near the noble gas atom. An explicit expression for γ(z) is given in the text. It is estimated that tungsten metal states with values of k6 at least as large as 0.5 Å?1 make an appreciable contribution to j(ω) where k6 is the electron momentum parallel to the surface.  相似文献

Differential cross sections for the excitation of the first octupole-vibrational state in the closed- neutron-shell nuclides 88Sr and 90Zr and in the closed-proton shell-nuclei 116, 118, 120, 124Sn by 11 MeV neutrons are presented. The distorted-wave Born approximation is used to obtain deformation lengths, σ(3?), for each state. Results are compared with earlier measurements of inelastic proton scattering to the same states. Although limited resolution in the neutron time- of-flight spectrometer complicates the interpretation of the Sn data, the overall conclusion that σnn′(3?) ≈ σpp′(3?) is supported by all of the measurements.  相似文献
