In this paper, we consider an inverse problem for a strongly damped wave equation in two dimensional with statistical discrete data. Firstly, we give a representation for the solution and then present a discretization form of the Fourier coefficients. Secondly, we show that the solution does not depend continuously on the data by stating a concrete example, which makes the solution be not stable and thus the present problem is ill-posed in the sense of Hadamard. Next, we use the trigonometric least squares method associated with the Fourier truncation method to regularize the instable solution of the problem. Finally, the convergence rate of the error between the regularized solution and the sought solution is estimated and also investigated numerically.  相似文献

In this article, we prove stability estimate of the inverse problem of determining the magnetic field entering the magnetic wave equation in a bounded smooth domain in ? d from boundary observations. This information is enclosed in the hyperbolic (dynamic) Dirichlet-to-Neumann map associated to the solutions to the magnetic wave equation. We prove in dimension d ≥ 2 that the knowledge of the Dirichlet-to-Neumann map for the magnetic wave equation measured on the boundary determines uniquely the magnetic field and we prove a Hölder-type stability in determining the magnetic field induced by the magnetic potential.  相似文献

We study the observability and some of its consequences (controllability, identification of diffusion coefficients) for one-dimensional heat equations with discontinuous coefficients (piecewise C1). The observability, for a linear equation, is obtained by a Carleman-type estimate. This kind of observability inequality yields controllability results for a semi-linear equation as well as a stability result for the identification of the diffusion coefficient.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider an inverse problem for the simultaneous diffusion process of elastic and electromagnetic waves in an isotropic heterogeneous elastic body which is identified with an open bounded domain. From the mathematical point of view, the system under consideration can be viewed as the coupling between the hyperbolic system of elastic waves and a parabolic system for the magnetic field. We study an inverse problem of determining the external source terms by observations data in a neighborhood of the boundary and we prove the Hölder stability. For the proof, we show a Carleman estimate for the displacement and the magnetic field of the magnetoelastic system.  相似文献

In the space of variables (x, t) ∈ ? n+1, we consider a linear second-order hyperbolic equation with coefficients depending only on x. Given a domain D ? ? n+1 whose projection to the x-space is a compact domain Ω, we consider the question of construction of a stability estimate for a solution to the Cauchy problem with data on the lateral boundary S of D. The well-known method for obtaining such estimates bases on the Carleman estimates with an exponential-type weight function exp(2τ?(x, t)) whose construction faces certain difficulties in case of hyperbolic equations with variable coefficients. We demonstrate that if D is symmetric with respect to the plane t = 0 then we can take ?(x, t) to be the function ?(x, t) = s 2(x, x 0) ? pt 2, where s(x, x 0) is the distance between points x and x 0 in the Riemannian metric induced by the differential equation, p is some positive number less than 1, and the fixed point x 0 can either belong to the domain Ω or lie beyond it. As for the metric, we suppose that the sectional curvature of the corresponding Riemannian space is bounded above by some number k 0 ≥ 0. In case of space of nonpositive curvature the parameter p can be taken arbitrarily close to 1; in this case as p → 1 the stability estimates lead to a uniqueness theorem which describes exactly the domain of the solution continuation through S. It turns out that, in case of space of bounded positive curvature, construction of a Carleman estimate is possible only if the product of k 0 and sup x∈Ω s 2(x, x 0) satisfies some smallness condition.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the global stability in determination of a coefficient in the transmission wave equation from data of the solution in a subboundary over a time interval. Providing regular initial data, we prove a hölder stability estimate in the inverse problem with a single measurement. In this paper, we discuss the uniqueness in an integral geometry problem along the straight lines in a strongly convex domain. Our problem is related with the problem of finding a Riemannian metric by the distances between all pairs of the boundary points. For the proof, the problem is reduced to an inverse source problem for a kinetic equation and then the uniqueness theorem is proved using the tools of Fourier analysis.  相似文献

We study the nonlinear damped wave equation with a linear pumping and a convective nonlinearity. We consider the solutions, which satisfy the periodic boundary conditions. Our aim is to prove global existence of solutions to the periodic problem for the nonlinear damped wave equation by applying the energy-type estimates and estimates for the Green operator. In this paper, we consider a coupled system of mixed hyperbolic–parabolic type, which describes the Biot consolidation model in poro‐elasticity. We establish a local Carleman estimate for Biot consolidation system.
