We perform echo spectroscopy on ultracold atoms in atom-optics billiards to study their quantum dynamics. The detuning of the trapping laser is used to change the "perturbation", which causes a decay in the echo coherence. Two different regimes are observed: first, a perturbative regime in which the decay of echo coherence is nonmonotonic and partial revivals of coherence are observed in contrast with the predictions of random matrix theory. These revivals are more pronounced in traps with mixed dynamics as compared to traps where the dynamics is fully chaotic. Next, for stronger perturbations, the decay becomes monotonic and independent of the strength of the perturbation. In this regime no clear distinction can be made between chaotic traps and traps with mixed dynamics.  相似文献

We introduce a random perturbed version of the classical fidelity and we show that it converges with the same rate of decay of correlations, but not uniformly in the noise. This makes the classical fidelity unstable in the zero-noise limit.  相似文献

From a reflection measurement in a rectangular microwave billiard with randomly distributed scatterers the scattering and the ordinary fidelity was studied. The position of one of the scatterers is the perturbation parameter. Such perturbations can be considered as local since wave functions are influenced only locally, in contrast to, e.g., the situation where the fidelity decay is caused by the shift of one billiard wall. Using the random-plane-wave conjecture, an analytic expression for the fidelity decay due to the shift of one scatterer has been obtained, yielding an algebraic 1/t decay for long times. A perfect agreement between experiment and theory has been found, including a predicted scaling behavior concerning the dependence of the fidelity decay on the shift distance. The only free parameter has been determined independently from the variance of the level velocities.  相似文献

Interference of an atomic Bose-Einstein condensate interacting with a laser field in a double-well potential with dissipation is investigated. If properly selecting the laser field and the initial states of the atoms in the two wells, we find that the intensity exhibits revivals and collapses. The fidelity of interference is affected by the total number of atoms in the two wells and dissipation.  相似文献

We study the effects of the initial correlations in environment on the entanglement dynamics of spin system. The correlated environment is novelly simulated by two correlated wheel-shaped spin baths, each consisting of an intermediate spin interacting with a spin-ring. The correlations in environment are achieved by the entanglement between two intermediate spins. The spin system includes two system-spins, and the interaction between the spin system and the environment is implemented by the coupling between the system-spin and the intermediate spin. Firstly, we analyze the influences of the initial entanglement between the two intermediate spins, the coupling parameters and the temperature of the baths on the entanglement dynamics of the two system-spins in equivalent subsystems. It is demonstrated that the initial entanglement between the baths can act as a resource for the generation and the revivals of the entanglement of the system-spins. Moreover, the amount of the generation and the revivals of the entanglement of the system-spins can be enhanced by regulating the coupling constants and the temperature of the baths. In addition, we also investigate the influences of different coupling ratios in non-equivalent subsystems, it is found that changing the coupling ratios of two subsystems has a significant effect on the generation and revivals of entanglement of system-spins.  相似文献

We have observed Bragg scattering of photons from quantum degenerate ^{87}Rb atoms in a three-dimensional optical lattice. Bragg scattered light directly probes the microscopic crystal structure and atomic wave function whose position and momentum width is Heisenberg limited. The spatial coherence of the wave function leads to revivals in the Bragg scattered light due to the atomic Talbot effect. The decay of revivals across the superfluid to Mott insulator transition indicates the loss of superfluid coherence.  相似文献

We consider the evolution of a two-level system coupled to a photon field initially in a coherent state, as the energy of the two-level system is linearly varied through resonance with the photon field. At a fixed time after the resonance, the amplitude of the photon field is found to show a collapse and subsequent revivals as a function of rate of energy variation. Including decay of the photon field, we find that the observation of such collapse and revivals is near the technological limit of current cavity QED experiments but should be achievable.  相似文献

We study a dynamic process of disentanglement by considering the time evolution of bound entanglement for a quantum open system, two qutrits coupling to a common environment. Here, the initial quantum correlations of the two qutrits are characterized by the bound entanglement. Both bosonic and spin environments are considered. We found that the bound entanglement displays collapses and revivals, and it can be stable against small temperature and time change. The thermal fluctuation effects on bound entanglement are also considered.  相似文献

We study the exact entanglement dynamics of two atoms in a lossy resonator. Besides discussing the steady-state entanglement, we show that in the strong coupling regime the system-reservoir correlations induce entanglement revivals and oscillations and propose a strategy to fight against the deterioration of the entanglement using the quantum Zeno effect.  相似文献

A theoretical scheme to realize quantum state transfer and state storage in a uniformly coupled tight-binding chain is introduced in this paper. Two controllable gate voltages acting as local barriers are applied onto specific sites of the system, which separate the chain into three regions. By setting two gate voltages being equal, we show that an initially localized quantum wave packet undergoes perfect periodic revivals, allowing for perfect quantum state transfer between two nonadjacent spatial regions of the system. We also show that the wave packet can be trapped in its initial region by setting two gate voltages being unequal, which relates to the problem of storing quantum information. Moreover an efficient time-dependent quantum state transfer protocol is presented by smoothly varying the two gate voltages. Significantly, in our setup, the transferred state can be trapped, with a high fidelity of storage, at the end of the transfer protocol.  相似文献

Motivated by neutron scattering experiments, we investigate the decay of the fidelity with which a wave packet is reconstructed by a perfect time-reversal operation performed after a phase-space displacement. In the semiclassical limit, we show that the decay rate is generically given by the Lyapunov exponent of the classical dynamics. For small displacements, we additionally show that, following a short-time Lyapunov decay, the decay freezes well above the ergodic value because of quantum effects. Our analytical results are corroborated by numerical simulations.  相似文献

We solve exactly a set of fully quantized coupled equations that describe the quantum dynamics, including the evolution of quantum fluctuations, entanglements, and correlations, of four-wave mixing (FWM) with matter waves. The analytical solution reveals Rabi oscillations, collapses and revivals, and agrees with FWM experiments. It also applies to optical FWM and the Rayleigh superradiance in Bose-Einstein condensates.  相似文献

A scheme for approximately and conditionally teleporting an unknown atomic state in dissipative cavity QED is proposed. It is the extension of the scheme of [Phys. Rev. A 69 (2004) 064302], where the cavity mode decay has not been considered and only a time point of system evolution and the corresponding fidelity implementing the teleportation are given. In fact, the cavity mode decay exists really and must be delt with. In this paper, we investigate the influence from the cavity mode decay on the implementation of the approximate and conditional teleportation by means of the dissipative Jaynes Cummings model and then show the analytical expression of the fidelity of realization of the teleportation. Alternatively, our scheme does not involve an additional atom, only requiring two atoms and one single-mode cavity.  相似文献

The performance of adding or subtracting photons on two-mode squeezed thermal states via examining the Einstein–Podolsky–Rosen (EPR) correlation, the Hillery–Zubairy (HZ) correlation, the fidelity of teleportation, and the negativity of Wigner function is theoretically investigated. The normalization factors and the teleportation fidelity are related to Jacobi polynomials, and the (evolved) Wigner functions are simply associated with two-variable Hermite polynomials. Compared with the original squeezed thermal states, the EPR correlation and the teleportation fidelity can be enhanced by photon subtraction and basically weakened by photon addition symmetric operations, but they cannot be enhanced for both photon addition and subtraction asymmetric cases. Also, HZ correlation can provide a better option relative to the EPR correlation in detecting the entanglement, and the fidelity for teleporting a squeezed state with a large squeezing can also be enhanced via photon addition symmetric operations, in contrast to teleporting a coherent state. Additionally, the nonclassicality is discussed in terms of the negativity of the (evolved) Wigner functions, which shows that photon addition and subtraction and the squeezing cannot restrain the deteriorate of nonclassicality, and the evolved Wigner functions become Gaussian (corresponding to vacuum) with long decay times as a result of amplitude decay.  相似文献

In a system of two charge-qubits that are initially prepared in a maximally entangled Bell’s state, the dynamics of quantum memory-assisted entropic uncertainty, purity, and negative entanglement are investigated. Isolated external cavity fields are considered in two different configurations: coherent-even coherent and even coherent cavity fields. For different initial cavity configurations, the temporal evolution of the final state of qubits and cavities is solved analytically. The effects of intrinsic decoherence and detuning strength on the dynamics of bipartite entropic uncertainty, purity and entanglement are explored. Depending on the field parameters, nonclassical correlations can be preserved. Nonclassical correlations and revival aspects appear to be significantly inhibited when intrinsic decoherence increases. Nonclassical correlations stay longer and have greater revivals due to the high detuning of the two qubits and the coherence strength of the initial cavity fields. Quantum memory-assisted entropic uncertainty and entropy have similar dynamics while the negativity presents fewer revivals in contrast.  相似文献

We propose a scheme for generating an entangled state for three atoms trapped in separate optical cavities that are coupled to each other through two optical fibers based on coherent driving and dissipation, which are induced by the classical fields and the decay of non-local bosonic modes, respectively. In our scheme, the interaction time need not be controlled strictly in the overall dynamics process, and the cavity field decay can be changed into a vital resource. The numerical simulation shows that the fidelity of the target state is insensitive to atomic spontaneous emission, and our scheme is good enough to generate the W state of distant atoms with a high fidelity and purity. In addition, the present scheme can also be generalized to prepare the N-partite W state of distant atoms.  相似文献
