An associative ring with identity R is called Armendariz if, whenever (∑^m i=0^aix^i)(∑^n j=0^bjx^j)=0 in R[x],aibj=0 for all i and j. An associative ring with identity is called reduced if it has no non-zero nilpotent elements. In this paper, we define a general reduced ring (with or without identity) and a general Armendariz ring (with or without identity), and identify a class of maximal general Armendariz subrings of matrix rings over general reduced rings.  相似文献

Some recent results of Ayache on going-down domains and extensions of domains that either are residually algebraic or have DCC on intermediate rings are generalized to the context of extensions of commutative rings. Given a finite maximal chain 𝒞 of R-subalgebras of a weak Baer ring T, it is shown how a “min morphism” hypothesis can be used to transfer the “going-down ring” property from R to each member of 𝒞. The integral minimal ring extensions which are min morphisms are classified. The ring extensions satisfying FCP (i.e., for which each chain of intermediate rings is finite) are characterized as the strongly affine extensions with DCC on intermediate rings. In the relatively integrally closed case, such extensions R ? T induce open immersions Spec(S) → Spec(R) for each R-subalgebra S of T.  相似文献

We look at the structure of a soluble group G depending on the value of a function m(G)= max m p G), where m p(G)=max{logp|G:M| | M< G, |G:M|=p a}, p (G). Theorem 1 states that for a soluble group G, (1) r(G/ (G))= m(G); (2) d(G/ (G)) 1+ (m(G)) 3+m(G); (3) l p(G) 1+t, where 2t-1<m p(G) 2t. Here, (G) is the Frattini subgroup of G, and r(G), d(G), and l p(G) are, respectively, the principal rank, the derived length, and the p-length of G. The maximum of derived lengths of completely reducible soluble subgroups of a general linear group GL(n,F) of degree n, where F is a field, is denoted by (n). The function m(G) allows us to establish the existence of a new class of conjugate subgroups in soluble groups. Namely, Theorem 2 maintains that for any natural k, every soluble group G contains a subgroup K possessing the following properties: (1) m(K); k; (2) if T and H are subgroups of G such that K T <max <max H G then |H:T|=p t for some prime p and for t>k. We show how the Gabriel–Roiter measure, introduced by Ringel in (Bull Sci Math 129:726–748, 2005 and Contemp Math 406:105–135, 2006), applies to indecomposable modules of finite length over right pure semisimple rings, and in particular to the study of the open problem whether any right pure semisimple ring is of finite representation type. Dedicated to the memory of Andrey Vladimirovich Roiter. Professor A. V. Roiter has died on 26 July 2006 in Riga, Latvia. He was born in 1937.  相似文献

Let R be an abelian ring. We consider a special subring An, relative to α2,…, αn∈ REnd(R), of the matrix ring Mn(R) over a ring R. It is shown that the ring An is a generalized right PP-ring (right zip ring) if and only if the ring R is a generalized right PP-ring (right zip ring). Nilpotents in Armendariz and abelian π-regular rings are multiplicatively closed. However, this fact need not hold in many kinds of rings. This article concerns a class of rings whose nilpotents are closed under multiplication. Rings contained in this class are said to be nilpotent-closed, and the structure of nilpotent-closed rings is investigated in relation with various situations which happen ordinarily in the study of noncommutative ring theory. In the procedure, various sorts of rings are investigated, so that they are nilpotent-closed. We also study familiar conditions under which nilpotents in nilpotent-closed rings form a subring.  相似文献

Let k be a commutative ring of coefficients and G be a finite group. Does there exist a flat k G-module which is projective as a k-module but not as a k G-module? We relate this question to the question of existence of a k-module which is flat and periodic but not projective. For either question to have a positive answer, it is at least necessary to have |k| ≥ ?ω. There can be no such example if k is Noetherian of finite Krull dimension, or if k is perfect.  相似文献
