Let G be a finite group and M n (G) be the set of n-maximal subgroups of G, where n is an arbitrary given positive integer. Suppose that M n (G) contains a nonidentity member and all members in M n (G) are S-permutable in G. Then any of of the following conditions guarantees the supersolvability of G: (1) M n (G) contains a nonidentity member whose order is not a prime; (2) all nonidentity members in M n (G) are of prime order, and all cyclic members in M n?1(G) of order 4 are S-permutable in G.  相似文献

In this paper we prove that a finite group G is isomorphic to the finite simple group L n (q) with n ≥ 3 if and only if they have the same set of order of solvable subgroups.

Let G be a finite group and n be a positive integer. An n-minimal subgroup H of G is called to be exactly n-minimal if no proper subgroup of H is n-minimal. In this paper, we study the solvability of G under the assumption that all exactly n-minimal subgroups of G are S-permutable.  相似文献

Abstract

First, we give a necessary and sufficient condition for torsion-free finite rank subgroups of arbitrary abelian groups to be purifiable. An abelian group G is said to be a strongly ADE decomposable group if there exists a purifiable T(G)-high subgroup of G. We use a previous result to characterize ADE decomposable groups of finite torsion-free rank. Finally, in an extreme case of strongly ADE decomposable groups, we give a necessary and sufficient condition for abelian groups of finite torsion-free rank to be splitting.  相似文献

A non-nilpotent finite group whose proper subgroups are all nilpotent is called a Schmidt group. A subgroup A is said to be seminormal in a group G if there exists a subgroup B such that G = AB and AB1 is a proper subgroup of G, for every proper subgroup B1 of B. Groups that contain seminormal Schmidt subgroups of even order are considered. In particular, we prove that a finite group is solvable if all Schmidt {2, 3}-subgroups and all 5-closed {2, 5}-Schmidt subgroups of the group are seminormal; the classification of finite groups is not used in so doing. Examples of groups are furnished which show that no one of the requirements imposed on the groups is unnecessary. Supported by BelFBR grant Nos. Abstract

A subgroup H of a finite group G is said to be Hall subnormally embedded in G if there is a subnormal subgroup N of G such that H is a Hall subgroup of N. A Schmidt group is a finite non-nilpotent group whose all proper subgroups are nilpotent. We prove the nilpotency of the second derived subgroup of a finite group in which each Schmidt subgroup is Hall subnormally embedded.  相似文献

It is an open question in the study of Chermak-Delgado lattices precisely which finite groups G have the property that 𝒞𝒟(G) is a chain of length 0. In this note, we determine two classes of groups with this property. We prove that if G = AB is a finite group, where A and B are abelian subgroups of relatively prime orders with A normal in G, then the Chermak-Delgado lattice of G equals {ACB(A)}, a strengthening of earlier known results.  相似文献

Suppose that G is a finite group and H is a subgroup of G. H is said to be S-quasinormal in G if it permutes with every Sylow subgroup of G; H is said to be S-quasinormally embedded in G if for each prime p dividing |H|, a Sylow p-subgroup of H is also a Sylow p-subgroup of some S-quasinormal subgroup of G. We investigate the influence of S-quasinormally embedded subgroups on the structure of finite groups. Some recent results are generalized.  相似文献

The structure of groups in which many subgroups have a certain property X has been investigated for several choices of the property X. Groups whose non-normal subgroups satisfy certain finite rank conditions are studied in this article. In particular, a classification of groups in which every subgroup is either normal or polycyclic is given.(Dedicated to Mario Curzio on the occasion of his 70th birthday)1991 Mathematics Subject Classification: 20F16  相似文献

Let H and T be subgroups of a finite group G. H is said to be permutable with T in G if HT = TH. In this paper, we use the concept of permutable subgroups to give two new criterions of supersolubility of the product G = AB of finite supersoluble groups A and B.   相似文献

ABSTRACT

Let x be a p-element of a finite group G. We say that x is unfused in G if, for some Sylow p-subgroup S of G containing x, all G-conjugates of x in S are S-conjugates. It is shown (using the classification of finite simple groups) that a finite group that contains an unfused involution has a chief factor of order 2.

Abstract

A subgroup of a group G is said to be S-quasinormal in G if it permutes with every Sylow subgroup of G. A subgroup H of a group G is said to be S-quasinormally embedded in G if every Sylow subgroup of H is a Sylow subgroup of some S-quasinormal subgroup of G. In this paper we examine the structure of a finite group G under the assumption that certain abelian subgroups of prime power order are S-quasinormally embedded in G. Our results improve and extend recent results of Ramadan [Ramadan, M. (2001). The influence of S-quasinormality of some subgroups of prime power order on the structure of finite groups. Arch. Math. 77:143–148].  相似文献

Let G be a finite group andA be a normal subgroup ofG. We denote by ncc(A) the number ofG-conjugacy classes ofA andA is calledn-decomposable, if ncc(A)= n. SetK G = {ncc(A)|A ⊲ G}. LetX be a non-empty subset of positive integers. A groupG is calledX-decomposable, ifK G =X. Ashrafi and his co-authors [1-5] have characterized theX-decomposable non-perfect finite groups forX = {1, n} andn ≤ 10. In this paper, we continue this problem and investigate the structure ofX-decomposable non-perfect finite groups, forX = {1, 2, 3}. We prove that such a group is isomorphic to Z6, D8, Q8, S4, SmallGroup(20, 3), SmallGroup(24, 3), where SmallGroup(m, n) denotes the mth group of ordern in the small group library of GAP [11].  相似文献
