Fermions localized within vortex cores are considered for the simplest most symmetric vortices in the superfluid phases of 3He. Axisymmetric vortices in the A, A1 and planar phases contain the fermionic condensate with a completely flat band and zero energy. The o-vortex in the B-phase contains 1D Fermi liquids, formed by fermions occupying the branches which cross the zero level. The number of such Fermi liquids increases with increasing external magnetic field. The fermionic spectrum in this vortex is described by the “orbital” and spin momenta interacting with the effective internal magnetic field produced by the vortex and with the external field. Most of the information is obtained using the vortex symmetry which determines symmetry properties of the fermionic spectrum.  相似文献

An experimental investigation of the free decay of quantized turbulence in isotopically pure superfluid 4He at mK temperatures is discussed. Vortices are created by a vibrating grid, and detected by their trapping of negative ions. Preliminary results suggest the existence of a temperature-independent vortex decay mechanism below T70 mK.  相似文献

It has been shown that the interaction between Faraday waves excited on the surface of He II by intense vertical vibrations of the sample cell can lead to the emergence of macroscopic vortices on the surface of the superfluid liquid, as in the case of an ordinary classical liquid. Visualization of phenomena on the surface of He II by light glass tracers with a diameter of ~0.2 mm localized beneath the surface of He II has allowed observing the emergence of a vortex lattice on the surface of the vibrating superfluid liquid in square and cylindrical cells and the evolution of the vortex structure after switching off the pumping.  相似文献

In the Ginsburg-Landau region the hydrodynamic variables for superfluid 3He are defined by means of the Lie algebra of the gauge group SO(3) x SO(3) x U(1) for the order parameter. The equilibrium of two different superfluid phases of 3He is considered within the framework of this method. The Dirac monopoles in 3-space and their generalization by C.N. Yang to 5-space are observed to be just the Levi-Civita spin connections of the cylindrical Riemannian metric on the 3-and 5-dimensional punctured spaces respectively.
