A numerical method for solving the inverse problem of determining the geometry of the multilayer shell of a Bragg waveguide that has the lowest waveguide losses for a given mode has been developed with the use of the genetic algorithm. For the calculated designs of waveguides, the distribution of the coordinates of the boundaries of shell layers has been found to be aperiodic under the condition r 1 ≤ λ due to the axial symmetry of the problem. Waveguide losses for the TE 01, TM 01, and HE 11 modes satisfy the conditions \(\alpha _{TM_{01} } > \alpha _{HE_{11} } > \alpha _{TE_{01} } \). It follows from the dependence of n eff obtained for these modes on the core radius and number of shell layers that any change in the structure of the waveguide leads to the violation of the optimal propagation regime for these modes. A Bragg fiber waveguide with a hollow core that is designed for the TE 01 mode and directs light in the single-mode regime is presented. The main fraction of losses in this waveguide is attributed to material absorption.  相似文献

A condition for reducing transmission loss of a dielectric-coated metallic hollow waveguide is shown theoretically when the inner metallic surface is not perfect. It is also shown that the transmission loss for CO2 laser light is 10.6 μm wavelength is able to be estimated from an attenuation spectrum of a short waveguide. By fabricating a ZnSe coated Ag hollow waveguide of short length, we have shown that it has a lower loss than a Ge coated waveguide for CO2 laser light.  相似文献

The influence of self-fields on the cyclotron maser instability in a hollow electron beam propagating parallel to a uniform axial magnetic field B 0 ê z in a dielectric loaded waveguide is investigated. The theoretical analysis is carried out within the framework of linearized Vlasov-Maxwell equations. It is assumed that the beam is thin with the radial thickness much smaller than the beam radius. A new dispersion relation for azimuthally symmetric electromagnetic perturbation is derived and analyzed numerically. The influence of self-fields on the cyclotron maser instability in a dielectric loaded waveguide for different dielectric medium is studied. It is found that unlike the hollow waveguide the growth rate is increased by increasing self-fields. The instability band width decreases due to the increasing self-fields. The maximum growth rate increases gradually as self-fields increase as regards a different dielectric medium.  相似文献

Coupling impedance Z0 of a continuous relativistic electron beam with the fundamental harmonic of the TM01 wave slowed down to the speed of light in a slow-wave structure (SWS) based on a hollow corrugated waveguide is estimated analytically and using the program based on the scattering matrix method. It is shown that Z0 in relativistic Cherenkov microwave oscillators without a guiding magnetic field realized in earlier experiments with the given type of interaction amounts to about 6–7 Ω, which is several times higher than the coupled impedances averaged over the SWS cross section for–1 and +1 spatial harmonics of the operating wave and can be increased in future to values exceeding 10 Ω due to a decrease in the average SWS diameter in admissible limits. In numerical simulation using the KARAT code, the possibility of reduction of the time of stabilization of oscillations of the Cherenkov microwave oscillator without a guiding magnetic field by 1.5 times is demonstrated.  相似文献

A novel blue light-emitting phosphor, Eu2+-doped magnesium strontium aluminate (MgSrAl10O17:Eu2+), for plasma display panel (PDP) application was developed. X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns disclosed that the phosphor annealed at 1500 °C for 5 h was a pure MgSrAl10O17 phase. Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) images showed the particle size of the phosphor was less than 3 μm. The phosphor shows strong and broad blue emission under vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) light excitation. After baking at 400-600 °C and irradiation with VUV light for 300 h, the phosphor still keep excellent VUV luminescence properties exhibiting good stability against high temperature baking and VUV irradiation. The decay time was short as 1.09 μs and the quantum yield was high to 0.77±0.02. All the characteristics indicated that MgSrAl10O17:Eu2+ would be a promising blue phosphor for PDP application.  相似文献

本文主要描述小分子在真空紫外波段(VUV,6-20 eV)光解离动力学的最新实验和理论研究进展.得益于基于商业化激光器的真空紫外光源技术,以及离子速度成像、高分辨氢原子-里德堡态标记-飞行时间测量和VUV-VUV泵浦-探测等方法的发展,研究人员现在可以对很多小分子在真空紫外波段的光解离动力学进行量子态到量子态层面的测量和研究,本文重点综述H_2(D_2,HD),CO,N_2,NO,O_2,H_2O(D_2O,HOD),CO_2,N_2O以及一些多原子分子在真空紫外波段光解离动力学的最新研究进展.这些小分子在真空紫外波段的光解离在天体化学以及大气化学中有着非常重要的应用.分子吸收一个VUV光子以后,通常会被直接激发到比较高的电子激发态,解离过程会涉及到多个电子态势能面之间的复杂非绝热相互作用.在实验上对解离截面等参数进行从量子态到量子态层面的精细测量对于深入了解这些复杂的势能面之间的相互作用有非常重要的意义.最近建成的大连相干光源是目前世界上唯一一台在真空紫外波段工作的自由电子激光,具有脉冲能量高、扫描范围宽(50~150 nm)等优越的性能,它的建成必将会大大促进小分子真空紫外光解离研究的发展.  相似文献

The presence of an intense Gaussian laser beam gives rise to a ponderomotive force on electrons in a collisionless plasma, leading to a redistribution of electron density along the wave-front and consequently to an intensity dependent dielectric constant which saturates with increasing intensity. The intensity dependent dielectric constant is responsible for beam propagation in an oscillatory waveguide. It is seen that (i) a beam of radiusr 0 less thanr 0min (?c/ω p) cannot be focused in the plasma regardless of its power, (ii) minimum dimension of oscillatory waveguide increases with increasing power of the beam. Similar results are also obtained for collisional plasma where nonlinearity arises due to nonuniform heating and consequent redistribution of carriers.  相似文献

In this paper the dispersion properties and confinement loss of hollow-core photonic bandgap fibers (PBGFs) based on a square lattice (SL) with rounded square air-holes was investigated for the first time, by using a full-vector finite element method (FEM). The waveguide group velocity dispersion (GVD) curves with different core diameter D, air hole size d, rounded diameter dc and hole pitch Λ are presented. The influence of the number of cladding rings on dispersion and confinement loss were also calculated. It was found that as Λ or d increases, the width of PBG becomes wider, and that D and the number of cladding rings have a smaller influence on waveguide GVD. The ratio between bandgap width and central wavelength in our simulation is about 38.1%, which is larger than that of hollow-core PBGFs with triangular lattice (TL) (∼25%). By simulation, the desired zero dispersion wavelength or desired dispersion slope could be obtained by properly choosing the value of dc or Λ. Compared to TL PBGF, at least nine cladding rings is needed to achieve the confinement loss less than 0.1 dB/m for future application.  相似文献

The enhancement of the Λb decay width relative to B decay due to the difference in Fermi motion effects in Λband B is calculated in the light front quark model with the simplifying assumption that Λbconsists of a heavy quark and a light scalar diquark. White light emitting phosphor RbVO3 films have been successfully fabricated by means of a vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) irradiation using an excimer lamp after spin coating of metal-organic solution onto substrates. The metal-organic carboxylates coated on substrates decomposed and reacted under the VUV irradiation. The metal-organic bonds were efficiently cleaved by the VUV illumination not only in air but also in vacuum, however, there was not a strong driving force for the reaction process to the formation of RbVO3 in the vacuum atmosphere. On the contrary, the reaction and crystallization simultaneously proceeded under photo-chemically produced active oxygen and/or ozone atmospheres due to the VUV illumination in air. The reaction between the photo-activated Rb-O and V-O species could be strongly enhanced by the oxidation atmospheres at the moment of the metal-organic bond cleavage under the VUV irradiation.  相似文献

A new kind of cyclic olefin polymer COP-E48R has been selected as the dielectric material for a silver hollow glass tube. Owing to its lower extinction coefficient at the wavelength of 10.6 μm, transmission losses for the CO2 laser light has been reduced significantly in the COP-E48R-coated silver (COP-E48R/Ag) hollow glass waveguide. By properly selecting the film thickness of COP, Er:YAG and CO2 laser light are shown to be transmitted with low loss simultaneously or independently. Delivery properties of red and green pilot beams were also evaluated.  相似文献

The method previously used by the author for the measurement and calculation of the distribution function w N(T)of fluorescence photons from a single two-level atom that is continuously excited by laser light and has a unity fluorescence quantum yield is generalized to the case of a single molecule whose fluorescence quantum yield is smaller than unity and to the case of a three-level molecule whose fluorescence is blinking. The functions w N(T) calculated for these two cases demonstrate a sub-Poissonian distribution of fluorescence photons.  相似文献

The fabrication and characterization of a liquid-core/liquid-cladding integrated antiresonant reflecting optical waveguide (L2-ARROW) is presented. In this waveguide, the light is confined vertically by the ARROW mechanism, whereas the lateral confinement is obtained by using liquid-core/liquid-cladding (L2 waveguides) with different refractive indexes. This approach permits to realize L2 waveguides with very low refractive index core (n ≈ 1.333) and represents a new solution to solve the difficulty to reduce the optical losses in 2D-ARROWs due to the TM polarization in lateral direction. The device has been fabricated with standard silicon technology. The results show that the optical properties can be tuned by changing the type and the flow velocity of the core and the cladding liquids.  相似文献

Time-resolved excitation and emission spectra of SrF2: Er3+ upon selective excitation with synchrotron radiation in the VUV and ultrasoft x-ray ranges at T = 8 K were studied. The VUV luminescence of SrF2: Er3+ derives from high-energy interconfiguration 4f105d-4f11 transitions in the Er3+ ion. The VUV emission spectrum revealed, in addition to the 164.5-nm band (millisecond-range kinetics), a band at 146.4 nm (with a decay time of less than 600 ps). The formation of excitation spectra for the f-f and f-d transitions in the Er3+ ion is discussed.  相似文献

Momentum densities of annihilation pairs from valence as well as from ionic core electrons in alkali metals are calculated ab initio and compared with the experimental results. It is shown that the valence high-momentum components constitute a great deal (23–34% in Na-Cs and probably even more in Li) of the Gaussian part of the angular correlation curves. The average core enhancement factor γc ranges from 1.5 (Li) to 7.1 (Cs) and may be well expressed by a logarithmic function of ionic core polarizability. The presented values of γc are much higher than the core enhancement factors in the high-momentum (?15 mrad) region which, according to the recent theory of Bonderup, Andersen and Lowy, should not be very different from unity.  相似文献

An optimization process of specialized heater electrode design for a Multimode Interference (MMI) based polymer in silica thermo-optical switch is described. The switch is designed based on the waveguide structure of photodefinable BenzoCyclobutene (BCB 4024-40) polymer core, sandwiched by a 6 μm thickness of silica (SiO2) upper clad layer and BK7 glass as a substrate. The upper clad thickness has been chosen such that to avoid any attenuation due to lossy behavior of the metal electrode. The light path is controlled by embedded thermal heater on top of the waveguide at specified location. Starting from a straight rectangular heater at pre-designed location, a migration technique and optimization toward a trapezoidal heater structure has been proposed which utterly claimed a significant improvement in terms of tuning power by more than 15%.  相似文献

We report observation of fast and efficient VUV/UV luminescence from the mixed (Ba,La)F2:Er crystals. The broad bands, peaking at 162.5, 181.9, 194.2, 202.8, 216.1, 233.5 and 281.5 nm and decaying, at 10 and 293 K, with time constants of 46 and 35 ns respectively, are due to spin-allowed transitions from the low-spin (LS) state of the 4f105d configuration.We also observed a weak and slow broad band emission peaking at 170 nm due to the spin-forbidden transition from the high-spin (HS) state of the 4f105d configuration.While at room temperature the excitation into any of the three identified LS bands (J=8, 7 and 6) dominating the excitation spectrum yields fast VUV and UV emissions, at 10 K the excitation into higher lying J=7 and 6 bands generates slow and sharp line emissions. The positions of these lines fit energies of transitions originating from the 2G7/2 multiplet at 66140 cm−1. The emission from the 2G7/2 multiplet has been never, to the best of our knowledge, observed before.The efficient and fast VUV and UV emissions from the higher (LS, J=8) with almost no contribution from the lower (HS, J=8) level of the 4f105d configuration are possible because the modified crystal field in (Ba,La)F2 shifts the level of the (LS, J=8) state below the 2F5/2 multiplet which, therefore, does not contribute to nonradiative relaxation between the LS and HS levels.We conclude that the 2G7/2 and 2F5/2 levels have major impact on VUV and UV emissions from the Er3+ ion in (Ba,La)F2 contributing to complex emission pattern described in this report Their key role, elucidated by the VUV and UV luminescence spectroscopy, is consistent with predictions from a simple configuration coordinate model based on experimental results and calculations of the 4f11 energy levels.  相似文献

Alkaline-earth silicate phosphors CaMgSi2xO6+2x:Eu2+ (1.00?x?1.20) were prepared by traditional solid-state reaction. The phosphors showed an intense blue emission centered around 453 nm, with both 254 and 147 nm excitations. The host absorption below 200 nm in the excitation spectra consisted of two bands around 160 and 190 nm. The band around 160 nm was ascertained to be associated with the SiO4-tetrahedra and MgO6-polyhedra, and that around 190 nm was due to the CaO8-polyhedra or some impurities. The incorporation of excess Si of less than 15% would not lead to formation of impurities and the results indicated that an appropriate Si excess could improve the Photoluminescence (PL) intensity in both ultraviolet (UV) and vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) regions  相似文献

Total delay time of a structure composed of a slab waveguide coupled with a ring resonator where negative refractive index material is replaced in the core of the structure is investigated in this work. In this paper, a two-port ring resonator (TPRR) which is made of a core with negative refractive index has been used to generate a time delay for a Gaussian-shaped pulse with 1 GHz bandwidth. It is shown that the creation of the ring how causes more ng of a straight waveguide and results are compared with positive refractive index core TPRR. We have used metamaterial to make an n < 0 media and have used two cascaded metamaterial rings to increase the bandwidth.  相似文献

We study guided modes propagating along a dielectric slab waveguide with a left handed material (LHM) cover or substrate. The dispersion relation is derived by using normalized waveguide parameters. An analytical method is then proposed to calculate the universal dispersion curves. Different from a slab waveguide with a LHM core, we find that guidance properties are strongly dependent on dielectric permittivity ε and magnetic permeability μ of the substrate and cover layers. For oscillating guided modes, fundamental zero order mode is not always absence, sometimes it exists in a restricted range of normalized propagation constant. First order mode behaves as other higher order modes and exists up to infinite high frequency. Higher order modes have no double degeneracy in the case of LHM cover layer. For surface guided modes, the existence and the type of the mode solutions with respect to different parameters are classified systematically and discussed in detail. Unlike a slab waveguide with a LHM core where the dispersion curve of TE1 surface mode continues with that of oscillating TE1 mode, the dispersion curve of TE1 surface mode continues with that of oscillating TE0 mode. It seems that the two different kinds of modes compensate each other to form one whole mode. Both TE and TM guided modes are discussed.  相似文献
