We report a new full-dimensional potential energy surface (PES) for the water dimer, based on fitting energies at roughly 30,000 configurations obtained with the coupled-cluster single and double, and perturbative treatment of triple excitations method using an augmented, correlation consistent, polarized triple zeta basis set. A global dipole moment surface based on Moller-Plesset perturbation theory results at these configurations is also reported. The PES is used in rigorous quantum calculations of intermolecular vibrational frequencies, tunneling splittings, and rotational constants for (H2O)2 and (D2O)2, using the rigid monomer approximation. Agreement with experiment is excellent and is at the highest level reported to date. The validity of this approximation is examined by comparing tunneling barriers within that model with those from fully relaxed calculations.  相似文献

The global potential energy surfaces for both the ground (X?(1)A(')) and excited (A?(1)A(')) electronic states of the HNO molecule have been constructed by three-dimensional cubic spline interpolation of more than 17,000 ab initio points, which have been calculated at the internal contracted multi-reference configuration interaction level with the Davidson correction using an augmented correlation-consistent polarized valence quadruple zeta basis set. The low-lying vibrational energy levels for the two electronic states of HNO have also been calculated on our potential energy surfaces including the diagonal Renner-Teller terms. The calculated results have shown a good agreement with the experimental vibrational frequencies of HNO and its isotopomers.  相似文献

Ab initio potential energy and transition dipole moment surfaces are presented for the five lowest singlet even symmetry electronic states of ozone. The surfaces are calculated using the complete active space self consistent field method followed by contracted multireference configuration interaction (MRCI) calculations. A slightly reduced augmented correlation consistent valence triple-zeta orbital basis set is used. The ground and excited state energies of the molecule have been computed at 9282 separate nuclear geometries. Cuts through the potential energy surfaces, which pass through the geometry of the minimum of the ground electronic state, show several closely avoided crossings. Close examination, and higher level calculations, very strongly suggests that some of these seemingly avoided crossings are in fact associated with non-symmetry related conical intersections. Diabatic potential energy and transition dipole moment surfaces are created from the computed ab initio adiabatic MRCI energies and transition dipole moments. The transition dipole moment connecting the ground electronic state to the diabatic B state surface is by far the strongest. Vibrational-rotational wavefunctions and energies are computed using the ground electronic state. The energy level separations compare well with experimentally determined values. The ground vibrational state wavefunction is then used, together with the diabatic B<--X transition dipole moment surface, to form an initial wavepacket. The analysis of the time-dependent quantum dynamics of this wavepacket provides the total and partial photodissociation cross sections for the system. Both the total absorption cross section and the predicted product quantum state distributions compare well with experimental observations. A discussion is also given as to how the observed alternation in product diatom rotational state populations might be explained.  相似文献

We have calculated the band profiles of the OH-stretching fundamental and overtone transitions in the proton donor unit of the water dimer complex. We have used a local mode Hamiltonian that includes both OH-stretching and OO-stretching motion but separates these adiabatically. The variation of OH-stretching frequency and anharmonicity with OO displacement from equilibrium contributes to the effective OO-stretching potentials for each OH-stretching state. The resulting OO-stretching energy levels and wave functions are used to simulate the vibrational profile of each OH-stretching transition. The coupled cluster with singles, doubles, and perturbative triples ab initio method with an augmented triple-zeta correlation consistent basis set has been used to obtain the necessary parameters, potentials, and dipole moment functions. We find that the OO-stretching transitions associated with a given hydrogen bonded OH-stretching transition are spread significantly and this spread increases with overtone. The spread is minor for the free OH-stretching transition. The inclusion of the OO-stretching mode has a limited effect on the overall OH-stretching band intensity.  相似文献

State-resolved differential cross section, integral cross section, average vibrational energy transfer, and the relative transition probability are computed for the H(+)+NO system using our newly obtained ab initio potential energy surfaces (PES) at the multireference configuration interaction level of accuracy employing the correlation consistent polarized valence triple zeta basis set. The quantum dynamics is treated within the vibrational close-coupling rotational infinite-order sudden approximation using the coupled ground state and first excited state ab initio quasidiabatic PES. The computed collision attributes for the inelastic vibrational excitation are compared with the state-to-state scattering data available at E(c.m.)=9.5 eV and E(c.m.)=29.03 eV and are found to be in overall good agreement with those of the experiments. The results for the vibrational charge transfer processes at these collision energies are also presented.  相似文献

We have calculated frequencies and intensities of fundamental and overtone vibrational transitions in water and water dimer with use of different vibrational methods. We have compared results obtained with correlation-corrected vibrational self-consistent-field theory and vibrational second-order perturbation theory both using normal modes and finally with a harmonically coupled anharmonic oscillator local mode model including OH-stretching and HOH-bending local modes. The coupled cluster with singles, doubles, and perturbative triples ab initio method with augmented correlation-consistent triple-zeta Dunning and atomic natural orbital basis sets has been used to obtain the necessary potential energy and dipole moment surfaces. We identify the strengths and weaknesses of these different vibrational approaches and compare our results to the available experimental results.  相似文献

We report a full dimensional, ab initio based potential energy surface for CH(5) (+). The ab initio electronic energies and gradients are obtained in direct-dynamics calculations using second-order M?ller-Plesset perturbation theory with the correlation consistent polarized valence triple zeta basis. The potential energy and the dipole moment surfaces are fit using novel procedures that ensure the full permutational symmetry of the system. The fitted potential energy surface is tested by comparing it against additional electronic energy calculations and by comparing normal mode frequencies at the three lowest-lying stationary points obtained from the fit against ab initio ones. Well-converged diffusion Monte Carlo zero-point energies, rotational constants, and projections along the CH and HH bond lengths and the tunneling coordinates are presented and compared with the corresponding harmonic oscillator and standard classical molecular dynamics ones. The delocalization of the wave function is analyzed through comparison of the CH(5) (+) distributions with those obtained when all of the hydrogen atoms are replaced by (2)H and (3)H. The classical dipole correlation function is examined as a function of the total energy. This provides a further probe of the delocalization of CH(5) (+).  相似文献

We have studied the vibrational high-frequency spectrum of the water trimer computationally. We expand an earlier study [J. Chem. Phys. A 2009, 113, 9124-9132] where we approximated the water trimer as three individually vibrating water monomer units. Some intramolecular potential energy coupling terms are now included in the previous model. The six OH bond lengths and the three HOH bending angles are used as the internal coordinates. The kinetic energy operator is a sum of the kinetic energy operators of the monomer units. We use the coupled cluster method with single, double, and perturbative triple excitations method [CCSD(T)] with augmented correlation consistent polarized valence triple-ζ (aug-cc-pVTZ) basis set to calculate the potential energy surface (PES). The counterpoise correction is included in the one-dimensional part of the PES. We calculate the vibrational energy eigenvalues using the variational method. The corresponding eigenfunctions are used to obtain the absorption intensities.  相似文献

For the first time the millimeter-wave spectra of the trans-35ClHC=CHF and trans-37ClHC=CHF isotopomers have been observed in natural abundance. Many DeltaJ=0, +/-1 DeltaK(-1)=+1 transitions for 35ClHC=CHF and DeltaJ=0 DeltaK(-1)=+1 transitions for 37ClHC=CHF have been detected and assigned. This allowed us to accurately determine the vibrational ground-state rotational constants, quartic and some sextic centrifugal distortion constants, and nuclear quadrupole coupling constants for both 35Cl and 37Cl. The experimental investigation has been supported by highly accurate theoretical predictions. As far as ab initio computations are concerned, the complete set of cubic and quartic force constants have been evaluated by numerical differentiation of the analytic second-order M?ller-Plesset many-body perturbation theory/correlation consistent polarized valence triple zeta second derivatives. The anharmonic part of the force field completes the theoretical study on the equilibrium structure, dipole moment, chlorine quadrupolar tensor, and harmonic force field previously carried out by the same authors.  相似文献

A series of electric and magnetic properties of hexafluorobenzene have been calculated, including the electric dipole polarizability, magnetizability, electric quadrupole moment, and nonlinear mixed electric dipole-magnetic dipole-electric quadrupole hyperpolarizabilities needed to obtain estimates of the Kerr, Cotton-Mouton, Buckingham, Jones, and magnetoelectric birefringences in the vapor phase. Time-dependent density-functional theory was employed for the calculation of linear-, quadratic, and cubic response functions. A number of density functionals have been considered, along with Sadlej's triple-zeta basis set and the augmented correlation-consistent polarized valence double zeta and augmented correlation-consistent polarized valence triple zeta basis sets. Comparisons have been made with experiment where possible. The analysis of results allows for an assessment of the capability of time-dependent density-functional theory for high-order electromagnetic properties of an electron-rich system such as hexafluorobenzene.  相似文献

We have calculated the frequencies and intensities of the hydrogen-bonded OH-stretching transitions in the water dimer complex. The potential-energy curve and dipole-moment function are calculated ab initio at the coupled cluster with singles, doubles, and perturbative triples level of theory with correlation-consistent Dunning basis sets. The vibrational frequencies and wavefunctions are found from a numerical solution to a one-dimensional Schr?dinger equation. The corresponding transition intensities are found from numerical integration of these vibrational wavefunctions with the ab initio calculated dipole moment function. We investigate the effect of counterpoise correcting both the potential-energy surface and dipole-moment function. We find that the effect of using a numeric potential is significant for higher overtones and that inclusion of a counterpoise correction for basis set superposition error is important.  相似文献

An ab initio potential energy surface of the Xe-H(2)O van der Waals dimer was constructed at the coupled cluster level of theory with single, double, and pertubatively included triple excitations. For the Xe atom, the small-core pseudopotential and augmented correlation-consistent polarized valence quadruple-zeta (aug-cc-pVQZ-PP) basis set was used. Dunning's augmented correlation-consistent polarized valence triple-zeta (aug-cc-pVTZ) basis set was chosen for O and H atoms. Midbond functions were used to supplement the atom-centered basis sets. Rotational spectra of the Xe-H(2)O van der Waals dimer were recorded with a pulsed-nozzle Fourier transform microwave spectrometer. Rotational transitions within two internal rotor states, namely, the 0(00) and 1(01) states, were measured and assigned. Nuclear quadrupole hyperfine structures due to the (131)Xe (I = (3)/(2)), D (I = 1) and (17)O (I = (5)/(2)) nuclei were also observed and analyzed. Information about the molecular structure and the H(2)O angular motions was extracted from the spectroscopic results with the assistance of the ab initio potential.  相似文献

A global analytical potential energy surface for the ground state of H(3)(-) has been constructed by fitting an analytic function to the ab initio potential energy values computed using coupled cluster singles and doubles with perturbative triples [CCSD(T)] method and Dunning's augmented correlation consistent polarized valence triple zeta basis set. Using this potential energy surface, time-dependent quantum mechanical wave packet calculations were carried out to calculate the reaction probabilities (P(R)) for the exchange reaction H(-)+H(2)(v, j)-->H(2)+H(-), for different initial vibrational (v) and rotational (j) states of H(2), for total angular momentum equal to zero. With increase in v, the number of oscillations in the P(R)(E) plot increases and the oscillations become more pronounced. While P(R) increases with increase in rotational excitation from j=0 to 1, it decreases with further increase in j to 2 over a wide range of energies. In addition, rotational excitation quenches the oscillations in P(R)(E) plots.  相似文献

A new global potential energy surface for the lowest triplet electronic state (a(3)A") of HNO has been developed by a three-dimensional cubic spline interpolation of more than 13,000 ab initio points, which were calculated at the multireference configuration interaction level with Davidson correction using the augmented correlation-consistent polarized valence quintuple zeta basis set. Two minima and five saddle points were found on the potential energy surface. Low-lying vibrational states were obtained in this new potential using the Lanczos method and assigned. In addition, thermal rate constants for the N + OH → H + NO reactions were obtained using an exact wave packet method. Reasonably good agreement with experimental data was obtained.  相似文献

The quantum mechanical state-to-state rotational excitation cross sections have been computed using the ab initio ground electronic state potential energy surface of the system [M. Mladenovic and S. Schmatz, J. Chem. Phys. 109, 4456 (1998)] computed at coupled-cluster single and double and triple perturbative excitations method using correlation-consistent polarized valence quadruple zeta basis set where the asymptotic potential have been computed using the dipole moment, quadrupole moment, and the molecular polarizability components and fitted to this interaction potential. The anisotropy of the surface has been analyzed in terms of the multipolar expansion coefficients for the rigid-rotor surface. The integral cross sections for rotational excitations have been computed by solving close-coupled equations at very low collision energies (5-200 cm(-1)) and the corresponding rates have been obtained for a range of low temperatures (5-175 K). The j = 0 → j(') = 1 rotational excitation cross section (and rate) is found to be the dominant followed by the j = 0 → j(') = 2 in these collision energies. The close-coupling, coupled-state, and infinite-order sudden approximations coupling calculations have been performed in the energy range of 0.1-1.0 eV using vibrational ground potential. The rotational cross sections have been obtained by performing computationally accurate close-coupling calculations at 0.1 eV using vibrationally averaged potential (ν = 1) and compared with the results of vibrational ground potential.  相似文献

The structure and intermolecular vibrational energy levels of the phenol-Ar complex are calculated from its potential energy surface. This surface is constructed from a large set of the interaction energy values computed using second-order Moller-Plesset perturbation theory with the augmented correlation consistent polarized valence double-zeta basis set. The global minimum in the potential energy surface corresponds to a cluster structure with Ar located over the geometric center of the phenol ring at a distance of 3.510 A and shifted by 0.1355 A towards oxygen. The calculated dissociation energy of 371 cm(-1) is in accordance with the experiment. Additional local minima higher in energy are with Ar placed in the phenol plane. However, they are too shallow to form the bound states corresponding to planar isomers. The deformation of the potential energy surface shape, created by the interaction of Ar with the phenolic oxygen, is responsible for a pronounced intermode mixing. As a result, a set of hybrid stretching-bending states appears which cannot be described in terms of the standard models. The intermode coupling is reflected in the vibronic structure of the S1-S0 electronic transition. The intensities of the vibronic bands are calculated from the electronic transition dipole moment surfaces determined using the ab initio single-excitation configuration interaction method. They allow us to correct and complete the assignment of the spectra observed in phenol-Ar, as well as in the analogous complexes of phenol with Kr and Xe.  相似文献

We have computed vibrational high-frequency overtone spectra of the water-ammonia complex, H(2)O-NH(3), and its isotopomers. The complex has been modeled as two independently vibrating monomer units. The internal coordinate Hamiltonians for each monomer unit have been constructed using exact gas phase kinetic energy operators. The potential energy and dipole moment surfaces have been calculated with the explicitly correlated coupled cluster method CCSD(T)-F12A and the valence triple-ζ VTZ-F12 basis around the equilibrium geometry of the complex. The vibrational eigenvalues have been calculated variationally and the eigenfunctions obtained have been used to compute the intensities of the absorption transitions. In H(2)O-NH(3), the water molecule acts as the proton donor and its symmetry is broken. The hydrogen-bonded OH bond oscillator undergoes a large redshift and intensity enhancement compared to the free hydrogen bond. Broken degeneracy of the asymmetric vibrations, quenched inversion splittings, and blueshift of the symmetric bending mode are the most visible changes in the ammonia unit.  相似文献

The ab initio crystal orbital method including electrostatic long range corrections has been applied to determine the equilibrium structure of the infinite bent chain of hydrogen fluoride molecules using extended gaussian basis sets ranging from double zeta to a near Hartree-Fock limit quality. Electronic band structure, hydrogen bond energy and dipole moment are reported as well. A sufficiently large number of points has been computed with the double zeta basis to determine an almost complete force field. With the larger basis sets the most important force constants have been reevaluated. From these force constants the optically active vibrational frequencies, phonon dispersion curves, phonon density of states and zero point energy have been derived within the framework of the harmonic approximation.  相似文献

The molecular structure of the first three members of the fluorocyanopolyynes was studied by ab initio Hartree-Fock calculations with a polarized double zeta basis set and at MP2 level with the same basis set. Alternating triple and single bonds were found; a theoretical estimate of rotational constants and dipole moments was performed and a comparison with the available experimental data was made. An analysis of the theoretical vibrational frequencies of the title compounds was carried out.  相似文献

Ab initio self-consistent field(SCF) and Mφller-Plesset correlation correction methods employing 6-31G^** basis set have been applied to the optimizations of nitroamine dimers. The binding energies have been corrected for the basis set superposition error (BSSE) and the zero-point energy.Theree optimized dimers have been obtained. The BSSE corrected binding energy of the most stable dimer is predicted to be -31.85kJ/mol at the MP4/6-31G^**//MP2/6-31G^** level. The energy barriers of the Walden conversion for -NH2 group are 19.7kJ/mol and 18.3kJ/mol for monomer and the most stable dimer, respectively. The molecular interaction makes the internal rotation around N1-N2 even more difficult. The thermodynamic properties of nitroamine and its dimers at different temperatures have been calculated on the basis of vibrational analyses. The change of the Gibbs free energy for the aggregation from monomer to the most stable dimer at standard pressure and 298.2 K is predicted to be 14.05kJ/mol.  相似文献
