The universal phase diagram of a 2D surface superconductor with generic Rashba interaction in a parallel magnetic field is found. In addition to the uniform BCS state, we find two inhomogeneous superconductive states, the stripe phase with Δ (r) ∝ cos(Qr) at high magnetic fields, and a new “helical” phase with Δ(r) ∝ exp(iQr) which intervenes between the BCS state and stripe phase at an intermediate magnetic field and temperature. We prove that the ground state for helical phase carries no current.  相似文献

We investigate the transport properties of La1.8−xEu0.2SrxCuO4 (x = 0.04, 0.08, 0.125, 0.15, 0.2) with a special focus on the Nernst effect in the normal state. Various anomalous features are present in the data. For x = 0.125 and 0.15 a kink-like anomaly is present in the vicinity of the onset of charge stripe order in the LTT phase, suggestive of enhanced positive quasiparticle Nernst response in the stripe ordered phase. At higher temperature, all doping levels except x = 0.2 exhibit a further kink anomaly in the LTO phase which cannot unambiguously be related to stripe order. Moreover, a direct comparison between the Nernst coefficients of stripe ordering La1.8−xEu0.2SrxCuO4 and superconducting La2−xSrxCuO4 at the doping levels x = 0.125 and x = 0.15 reveals only weak differences. Our findings make high demands on any scenario interpreting the Nernst response in hole-doped cuprates.  相似文献

We have investigated the pressure effect on T(c) and the Hall coefficient in the static stripe-ordered phase of La(1.48)Nd(0.4)Sr(0.12)CuO(4) crystal under hydrostatic pressure. We found a dramatic change of the Hall coefficient and an abrupt increase of T(c) at low pressure of about 0.1 GPa. The results are indicative of a transition from one- to two-dimensional charge transport, associated with the suppression of low-temperature-tetragonal (LTT) phase. From the uniaxial pressure measurements it turns out that the observed critical change is induced primarily due to the in-plane compression of the CuO(2) planes which would make the pinning potential of the LTT lattice distortions weaker.  相似文献

From all-electron fixed-spin-moment calculations we show that ferromagnetic and checkerboard antiferromagnetic ordering in LaFeAsO are not stable and the stripe antiferromagnetic configuration with M(Fe)=0.48 microB is the only stable ground state. The main exchange interactions between Fe ions are large, antiferromagnetic, and frustrated. The magnetic stripe phase breaks the tetragonal symmetry, removes the frustration, and causes a structural distortion. These results successfully explain the magnetic and structural phase transitions in LaFeAsO recently observed by neutron scattering. The presence of competing strong antiferromagnetic exchange interactions suggests that magnetism and superconductivity in doped LaFeAsO may be strongly coupled, much like in the high-T(c) cuprates.  相似文献

Site-dependent NMR relaxation time T1(r) is calculated in the vortex state using the Bogoliubov-de Gennes theory, taking account of possible "field-induced stripe" states in which the magnetism arises locally around a vortex core in d-wave superconductivity. The recently observed huge enhancement T-11(r) below T(c) at a core site in Tl2Ba2CuO6 is explained. The field-induced stripe picture explains consistently other relevant STM and neutron experiments.  相似文献

Within a model that supports stripe spin and charge order coexisting with a d(x2-y2)-wave superconducting phase, we study the self-consistently obtained electronic structure and the associated transverse dynamical spin susceptibility. In the coexisting phase of superconducting and static stripe order, the resulting particle-hole continuum can strongly damp parts of the low-energy spin-wave branches. This provides insight into recent inelastic neutron scattering data revealing the dispersion of the low-energy collective magnetic modes of lanthanum based cuprate superconductors.  相似文献

We discovered stripe patterns of trimerization-ferroelectric domains in hexagonal REMnO(3) (RE=Ho,···,Lu) crystals (grown below ferroelectric transition temperatures (T(c)), reaching up to 1435 °C), in contrast with the vortex patterns in YMnO(3). These stripe patterns roughen with the appearance of numerous loop domains through thermal annealing just below T(c), but the stripe domain patterns turn to vortex-antivortex domain patterns through a freezing process when crystals cross T(c) even though the phase transition appears to not be Kosterlitz-Thouless-type. The experimental systematics are compared with the results of our six-state clock model simulation and also the Kibble-Zurek mechanism for trapped topological defects.  相似文献

We have performed a series of elastic neutron scattering measurements on 1/8-hole doped La(1.875)-Ba(0.125-x)Sr(x)CuO(4) single crystals with x = 0.05, 0.06, 0.075, and 0.085. Both charge-density-wave (CDW) and spin-density-wave orders are found to develop simultaneously below the structural transition temperature between the low-temperature orthorhombic (LTO) and low-temperature tetragonal (LTT) or low-temperature less-orthorhombic (LTLO) phases. In the ground state the CDW order is observed only in the LTT/LTLO phase and drastically degrades towards the LTO boundary. The x dependence of T(c) strongly suggests a direct effect of the CDW order on the suppression of superconductivity.  相似文献

The ground-state phase diagram of 2D electrons in a high Landau level (index N = 2) is studied by the density-matrix renormalization group method. Pair correlation functions are systematically calculated for various filling factors from nu = 1/8 to 1/2. It is shown that the ground-state phase diagram consists of three different charge density wave states called stripe phase, bubble phase, and Wigner crystal. The boundary between the stripe and the bubble phases is determined to be nu(s-b)c approximately 0.38, and that for the bubble phase and Wigner crystal is nu(b-W)c approximately 0.24. Each transition is of first order.  相似文献

Low-energy spin excitations of La(1.85)Sr(0.15)Cu(1-y)Zn(y)O4 were studied by neutron scattering. In y=0.004, the incommensurate magnetic peaks show a well-defined "spin gap" below T(c). The magnetic signals at omega=3 meV decrease below T(c)=27 K for y=0.008, also suggesting the gap opening. At lower temperatures, however, the signal increases again, implying a novel in-gap spin state. In y=0.017, the spin gap vanishes and elastic magnetic peaks appear. These results clarify that doped Zn impurities induce the novel in-gap state, which becomes larger and more static with increasing Zn.  相似文献

Recent spectroscopic observations of a d-wave-like gap in stripe-ordered La(2-x)Ba(x)CuO(4) with x=1/8 have led us to critically analyze the anisotropic transport and magnetization properties of this material. The data suggest that concomitant with the spin ordering is an electronic decoupling of the CuO(2) planes. We observe a transition (or crossover) to a state of two-dimensional (2D) fluctuating superconductivity, which eventually reaches a 2D superconducting state below a Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless transition. Thus, it appears that the stripe order in La(2-x)Ba(x)CuO(4) frustrates three-dimensional superconducting phase order, but is fully compatible with 2D superconductivity and an enhanced T(c).  相似文献

We have performed elastic neutron-scattering measurements on La1.87Sr0.13Cu0.99Fe0.01O4 to study the magnetic impurity effects on the stripe correlations in high-Tc cuprates. Both charge-density-wave (CDW) and spin-density-wave (SDW) orders are observed in the low-temperature-orthorhombic (LTO) phase for the first time. With decreasing the temperature, CDW order first appears at followed by the SDW order at lower temperature of . The incommensurability for the CDW order (ε) was found to be 0.224±0.002 r.l.u., which is approximately twice of that for SDW order (δ) of 0.115±0.003 r.l.u. Both ordering sequence and relation of ε≈2δ are the same for SDW and CDW orders observed in the low-temperature-tetragonal (LTT) phase of La1.60-xNd0.4SrxCuO4 (LNSCO), suggesting that the similar stripe correlations exist in the cuprate oxides, irrespective of crystal structure.  相似文献

The observation of charge stripe order in the doped nickelate and cuprate materials has motivated much theoretical effort to understand the underlying mechanism of the stripe phase. Numerical studies of the Hubbard model show two possibilities: (i) stripe order arises from a tendency toward phase separation and its competition with the long-range Coulomb interaction or (ii) stripe order inherently arises as a compromise between itinerancy and magnetic interactions. Here we determine the restricted phase diagram of the two-dimensional Falicov-Kimball model and see that it displays rich behavior illustrating both possibilities in different regions.  相似文献

We calculate the vertex corrections within a model for fermion quasiparticles coupled with charge and spin fluctuations, which provide the relevant scattering mechanism near the stripe instability in high- T(c) cuprates. The logarithmic divergence of the vertex, which characterizes the spin-fermion model near the antiferromagnetic instability, is ruled out, due to the incommensuration of the charge and spin modulation within the stripe phase, as revealed by neutron scattering. This simplifies the skeleton structure of the problem. The vertex is negative in the relevant kinematical regime, effectively reducing the interaction strength. Our results apply to generic incommensurate instabilities of electronic origin.  相似文献

We examine the effect of disorder on the electromagnetic response of quantum Hall stripes using an effective elastic theory to describe their low-energy dynamics, and replicas and the Gaussian variational method to handle disorder effects. Within our model we demonstrate the existence of a depinning transition at a critical partial Landau level filling factor Deltanu(c). For DeltanuDeltanu(c). For Deltanu> or =Deltanu(c), we find a partial RSB solution in which there is free sliding only along the stripe direction. The transition is analogous to the Kosterlitz-Thouless phase transition.  相似文献

Using the persistent current I induced by an Aharonov-Bohm flux in square lattices with random potentials, we study the interplay between electronic correlations and disorder upon the ground state (GS) of a few polarized electrons (spinless fermions) with Coulomb repulsion. being the total momentum, we show that in the continuum limit. We use this relation to distinguish between the continuum regimes, where the lattice GS behaves as in the continuum limit and I is independent of the interaction strength U when is conserved, and the lattice regimes where I decays as U increases. Changing the disorder strength W and U, we obtain many regimes which we study using the map of local currents carried by three spinless fermions. The decays of I characterizing three different lattice regimes are described by large U perturbative expansions. In one of them, I forms a stripe of current flowing along the axis of the diamagnetic Wigner molecule induced by large electronic correlations. This stripe of current persists in the continuum limit. The quantum melting of the diamagnetic molecule gives rise to an intermediate “supersolid” regime where a paramagnetic correlated pair co-exists with a third particle, before the total melting. The concepts of stripe and of supersolid which we use to describe certain regimes exhibited by three spinless fermions are reminiscent of the observations and conjectures done in other fields at the thermodynamic limit (stripe for high-Tc cuprates, supersolid for Helium quantum solids).  相似文献

A self-assembled monolayer of dodecanethiol grown on Au(1 1 1) substrate has been annealed to form different structural phases: a higher density phase, a lower density stripe phase, and a disordered mixed phase. The electrical properties of each phases have been studied by using scanning tunneling spectroscopy. The current-voltage curves measured on the disordered phase were less reproducible than those measured on the two well-ordered phases. Molecular resolution STM image obtained on the stripe phase shows that the structural instability of the alkyl chain of the stripe phase affect the current flow through the molecule. Our study shows that the ordering and structural stability of the molecules are very important in stable measurement of the electrical properties of the molecular films.  相似文献

We study the dynamical spin susceptibility of a correlated d-wave superconductor (dSC) in the presence of nonmagnetic disorder, using an unrestricted Hartree-Fock approach. This model provides a concrete realization of the notion that disorder slows down spin fluctuations, which eventually "freeze out." The evolution of disorder-induced spectral weight transfer agrees qualitatively with experimental observations on underdoped cuprate superconductors. For sufficiently large disorder concentrations, static spin density wave (SDW) order is created when droplets of magnetism nucleated by impurities overlap. We also study the disordered stripe state coexisting with a dSC and compare its magnetic fluctuation spectrum to that of the disorder-generated SDW phase.  相似文献

We determine the quantum phase diagram of a two-dimensional bosonic t-Jz model as a function of the lattice anisotropy gamma, using a quantum Monte Carlo loop algorithm. We show analytically that the low-energy sectors of the bosonic and the fermionic t-Jz models become equivalent in the limit of small gamma. In this limit, the ground state represents a static stripe phase characterized by a nonzero value of a topological order parameter. This phase remains up to intermediate values of gamma, where there is a quantum phase transition to a phase-segregated state or a homogeneous superfluid with dynamic stripe fluctuations depending on the ratio Jz/t.  相似文献
