We study the distribution of expectation values and transition amplitudes for quantised maps on the torus. If the classical map is ergodic then the variance of the distribution of expectation values will tend to zero in the semiclassical limit by the quantum ergodicity theorem. Similarly the variance of transition amplitude goes to zero if the map is weak mixing. In this paper we derive estimates on the rate by which these variances tend to zero. For a class of hyperbolic maps we derive a rate which is logarithmic in the semiclassical parameter, and then show that this bound is sharp for cat maps. We give an estimate of the quantum variance for d-regular graphs quantised with boundary scattering matrices that prohibit back-scattering. For families of graphs that are expanders, with few short cycles, our estimate leads to quantum ergodicity for these families of graphs. Our proof is based on a uniform control of an associated random walk on the bonds of the graph. We show that recent constructions of Ramanujan graphs, and asymptotically almost surely, random d-regular graphs, satisfy the necessary conditions to conclude that quantum ergodicity holds.  相似文献

In the present paper we develop a framework in which questions of quantum ergodicity for operators acting on sections of Hermitian vector bundles over Riemannian manifolds can be studied. We are particularly interested in the case of locally symmetric spaces. For locally symmetric spaces, we extend the recent construction of Silberman and Venkatesh [7] of representation theoretic lifts to vector bundles.  相似文献

We prove an analogue of Shnirelman, Zelditch and Colin de Verdiè- re’s quantum ergodicity Theorems in a case where there is no underlying classical ergodicity. The system we consider is the Laplacian with a delta potential on the square torus. There are two types of wave functions: old eigenfunctions of the Laplacian, which are not affected by the scatterer, and new eigenfunctions which have a logarithmic singularity at the position of the scatterer. We prove that a full density subsequence of the new eigenfunctions equidistribute in phase space. Our estimates are uniform with respect to the coupling parameter, in particular the equidistribution holds for both the weak and strong coupling quantizations of the point scatterer.  相似文献

We construct an equivariant microlocal lift for locally symmetric spaces. In other words, we demonstrate how to lift, in a semi-canonical fashion, limits of eigenfunction measures on locally symmetric spaces to Cartan-invariant measures on an appropriate bundle. The construction uses elementary features of the representation theory of semisimple real Lie groups, and can be considered a generalization of Zelditch’s results from the upper half-plane to all locally symmetric spaces of noncompact type. This will be applied in a sequel to settle a version of the quantum unique ergodicity problem on certain locally symmetric spaces. The second author was supported in part by NSF Grant DMS-0245606. We first apply non-negative matrix theory to the matrix K = D A, where D and A are the degree-diagonal and adjacency matrices of a graph G, respectively, to establish a relation on the largest Laplacian eigenvalue λ1 (G) of G and the spectral radius p(K) of K. Upper and lower bounds are provided on the dimension of bivariate polynomial superspline spaces which are defined by enforcing smoothness conditions across the interior edges of the underlying triangulation. A set \(S\subseteq V\) is a paired-dominating set if every vertex in \(V{\setminus } S\) has at least one neighbor in S and the subgraph induced by S contains a perfect matching. The paired-domination number of a graph G, denoted by \(\gamma _{pr}(G)\), is the minimum cardinality of a paired-dominating set of G. A conjecture of Goddard and Henning says that if G is not the Petersen graph and is a connected graph of order n with minimum degree \(\delta (G)\ge 3\), then \(\gamma _{pr}(G)\le 4n/7\).
