A highly purified site of a cytokinin-binding protein with a KD value for3H-BAP of 4.3 nM has been isolated from cotton-plant seedlings by the methods of biospecific and hydrophobic chromatography. According to the results of electrophoretic analysis under denaturing conditions its molecular mass is 43 kDa. A. S. A quantitative study of the secondary structures of the 11S and 7S globulins from cotton seeds has been made by the circular dichroism (CD) method. The total membranes from cottonplant shoots have been used as the antigenic material for obtaining monoclonal antibodies (mcABs). Eleven stable hybrids producing mcABs to components of the membrane proteins have been selected. Antibodies to various membrane fractions and to fractions of lectin-like proteins have been revealed. It has been established that the method of precipitation with ethanol in the presence of an increased concentration of Mg2+ can be used for the rapid isolation of the ribosome fraction from plant material.2. The optimum conditions for the complete precipitation of the ribosome fraction from a homogenate of cotton seeds have been selected.3. Summary 1. A comparative study has been made of various methods of isolating the tRNA from cotton seeds. It has been found that the best results are given by extraction of cotton seeds with a mixture of 80% phenol and 0.14 M NaCl.2.
