Non-linear vibration of viscoelastic pipes conveying fluid around curved equilibrium due to the supercritical flow is investigated with the emphasis on steady-state response in external and internal resonances. The governing equation, a non-linear integro-partial-differential equation, is truncated into a perturbed gyroscopic system via the Galerkin method. The method of multiple scales is applied to establish the solvability condition in the first primary resonance and the 2:1 internal resonance. The approximate analytical expressions are derived for the frequency–amplitude curves of the steady-state responses. The stabilities of the steady-state responses are determined. The generation and the vanishing of a double-jumping phenomenon on the frequency–amplitude curves are examined. The analytical results are supported by the numerical integration results.  相似文献

Natural frequencies of nonlinear coupled planar vibration are investigated for axially moving beams in the supercritical transport speed ranges. The straight equilibrium configuration bifurcates in multiple equilibrium positions in the supercritical regime. The finite difference scheme is developed to calculate the non-trivial static equilibrium. The equations are cast in the standard form of continuous gyroscopic systems via introducing a coordinate transform for non-trivial equilibrium configuration. Under fixed boundary conditions, time series are calculated via the finite difference method. Based on the time series, the natural frequencies of nonlinear planar vibration, which are determined via discrete Fourier transform (DFT), are compared with the results of the Galerkin method for the corresponding governing equations without nonlinear parts. The effects of material parameters and vibration amplitude on the natural frequencies are investigated through parametric studies. The model of coupled planar vibration can reduce to two nonlinear models of transverse vibration. For the transverse integro-partial-differential equation, the equilibrium solutions are performed analytically under the fixed boundary conditions. Numerical examples indicate that the integro-partial-differential equation yields natural frequencies closer to those of the coupled planar equation.  相似文献

Equilibria of axially moving beams are computationally investigated in the supercritical transport speed ranges. In the supercritical regime, the pattern of equilibria consists of the straight configuration and of non-trivial solutions that bifurcate with transport speed. The governing equations of coupled planar is reduced to a partial-differential equation and an integro-partial-differential equation of transverse vibration. The numerical schemes are respectively presented for the governing equations and the corresponding static equilibrium equation of coupled planar and the two governing equations of transverse motion for non-trivial equilibrium solutions via the finite difference method and differential quadrature method under the simple support boundary. A steel beam is treated as example to demonstrate the non-trivial equilibrium solutions of three nonlinear equations. Numerical results indicate that the three models predict qualitatively the same tendencies of the equilibrium with the changing parameters and the integro-partial-differential equation yields results quantitatively closer to those of the coupled equations.  相似文献

Steady-state periodic responses of nonlinear coupled planar motions are investigated for transporting beams in the supercritical transport speed ranges. The straight equilibrium configuration bifurcates into multiple equilibrium positions in the supercritical regime. The finite-difference schemes are developed to calculate the non-trivial static equilibrium and the steady-state response under simply supported or clamped boundary conditions. The forced vibration is assumed to be spatially uniform and temporally simple harmonic. Based on the long time series, the steady-state transversal amplitudes of nonlinear planar motions are recorded with changing load frequencies. A?resonance exists if the external load frequency approaches the fundamental frequency. The effects of material parameters and vibration amplitude on the resonance responses are investigated. The coupled planar model can be reduced to two nonlinear models on transversal vibrations, an integro-partial?Cdifferential equation and a partial?Cdifferential one. Numerical examples are displayed for the pros and cons between the two transversal models. It is also revealed that the increased axial speed converts the hardening-type behavior into the softening-type one.  相似文献

In this paper supercritical equilibria and critical speeds of axially moving beams constrained by sleeves with torsion springs are deduced. Transverse vibration of the beams is governed by a nonlinear integro-partial-differential equation. In the supercritical regime, the corresponding static equilibrium equation for the hybrid boundary conditions is analytically solved for the equilibria and the critical speeds. In the view of the non-trivial equilibrium, comparisons are made among the integro-partial-differential equation, a nonlinear partial-differential equation for transverse vibration, and coupled equations for planar motion under the hybrid boundary conditions.  相似文献

In the present paper, two-dimensional coupled free vibrations of a fluid-filled rectangular container with a sagged bottom membrane are investigated. This system consists of two rigid walls and a membrane anchored along two rigid vertical walls. It is filled with incompressible and inviscid fluid. The membrane material is assumed to act like an inextensible material with no bending resistance. First, the nonlinear equilibrium equation is solved and the equilibrium shape of the membrane is obtained using an analytical formulation neglecting the membrane weight. The small vibrations about the equilibrium configuration are then investigated. Along the contact surface between the bottom membrane and the fluid, the compatibility requirement is applied for the fluid–structure interactions and the finite element method is used to calculate the natural frequencies and mode shapes of the fluid–membrane system. The vibration analysis of the coupled system is accomplished by using the displacement finite element for the membrane and the pressure fluid-finite element for the fluid domain. The variations of natural frequencies with the pressure head, the membrane length, the membrane weight and the distance between two rigid walls are examined. Moreover, the mode shapes of system are investigated.  相似文献

Principal parametric resonance in transverse vibration is investigated for viscoelastic beams moving with axial pulsating speed. A nonlinear partial-differential equation governing the transverse vibration is derived from the dynamical, constitutive, and geometrical relations. Under certain assumption, the partial-differential reduces to an integro-partial-differential equation for transverse vibration of axially accelerating viscoelastic nonlinear beams. The method of multiple scales is applied to two equations to calculate the steady-state response. Closed form solutions for the amplitude of the vibration are derived from the solvability condition of eliminating secular terms. The stability of straight equilibrium and nontrivial steady-state response are analyzed by use of the Lyapunov linearized stability theory. Numerical examples are presented to highlight the effects of speed pulsation, viscoelascity, and nonlinearity and to compare results obtained from two equations.  相似文献

Dynamical analysis of axially moving plate by finite difference method   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The complex natural frequencies for linear free vibrations and bifurcation and chaos for forced nonlinear vibration of axially moving viscoelastic plate are investigated in this paper. The governing partial differential equation of out-of-plane motion of the plate is derived by Newton’s second law. The finite difference method in spatial field is applied to the differential equation to study the instability due to flutter and divergence. The finite difference method in both spatial and temporal field is used in the analysis of a nonlinear partial differential equation to detect bifurcations and chaos of a nonlinear forced vibration of the system. Numerical results show that, with the increasing axially moving speed, the increasing excitation amplitude, and the decreasing viscosity coefficient, the equilibrium loses its stability and bifurcates into periodic motion, and then the periodic motion becomes chaotic motion by period-doubling bifurcation.  相似文献

In supercritical regime, the coupled model equations for the axially moving beam with simple support boundary conditions are considered. The critical speed is determined by linear bifurcation analysis, which is in agreement with the results in the literature. For the corresponding static equilibrium state, the second-order asymptotic nontrivial solutions are obtained through the multiple scales method. Meantime, the numerical solutions are also obtained based on the finite difference method. Comparisons among the analytical solutions, numerical solutions and solutions of integro-partial-differential equation of transverse which is deduced from coupled model equations are made. We find that the second-order asymptotic analytical solutions can well capture the nontrivial equilibrium state regardless of the amplitude of transverse displacement. However, the integro-partial-differential equation is only valid for the weak small-amplitude vibration axially moving slender beams.  相似文献

In this study, the post-divergence behavior of fluid-conveying pipes supported at both ends is investigated using the nonlinear equations of motion. The governing equation exhibits a cubic nonlinearity arising from mid-plane stretching. Exact solutions for post-buckling configurations of pipes with fixed–fixed, fixed–hinged, and hinged–hinged boundary conditions are investigated. The pipe is stable at its original static equilibrium position until the flow velocity becomes high enough to cause a supercritical pitchfork bifurcation, and the pipe loses stability by static divergence. In the supercritical fluid velocity regime, the equilibrium configuration becomes unstable and bifurcates into multiple equilibrium positions. To investigate the vibrations that occur in the vicinity of a buckled equilibrium position, the pseudo-nonlinear vibration problem around the first buckled configuration is solved precisely using a new solution procedure. By solving the resulting eigenvalue problem, the natural frequencies and the associated mode shapes of the pipe are calculated. The dynamic stability of the post-buckling configurations obtained in this manner is investigated. The first buckled shape is a stable equilibrium position for all boundary conditions. The buckled configurations beyond the first buckling mode are unstable equilibrium positions. The natural frequencies of the lowest vibration modes around each of the first two buckled configurations are presented. Effects of the system parameters on pipe behavior as well as the possibility of a subcritical pitchfork bifurcation are also investigated. The results show that many internal resonances might be activated among the vibration modes around the same or different buckled configurations.  相似文献

This paper is aimed at presenting the nonlinear flutter peculiarities of a cantilevered plate with motion-limiting constraints in subsonic flow. A non-smooth free-play structural nonlinearity is considered to model the motion constraints. The governing nonlinear partial differential equation is discretized in space and time domains by using the Galerkin method. The equilibrium points and their stabilities are presented based on qualitative analysis and numerical studies. The system loses its stability by flutter and undergoes the limit cycle oscillations (LCOs) due to the nonlinearity. A heuristic analysis scheme based on the equivalent linearization method is applied to theoretical analysis of the LCOs. The Hopf and two-multiple semi-stable limit cycle bifurcation bifurcations are supercritical or subcritical, which is dependent on the location of the motion constraints. For some special cases the bifurcations are, interestingly, both supercritical and subcritical. The influence of varying parameters on the dynamics is discussed in detail. The results predicted by the analysis scheme are in good agreement with the numerical ones.  相似文献

The generalized kinematic equation for film thickness, taking into account the effect of phase change at the interface, is used to investigate the nonlinear stability of film flow down a vertical wall. The analysis shows that supercritical stability and subcritical instability are both possible for the film flow system. Applications of the result to isothermal, condensate and evaporate film flow show that mass transfer into (away from) the liquid phase will stabilize (destabilize) the film flow. Finally, we find that supercritical filtered waves are always linearly stable with regard to side-band disturbance.  相似文献

Articulated Pipes Conveying Fluid Pulsating with High Frequency   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Stability and nonlinear dynamics of two articulated pipes conveying fluid with a high-frequency pulsating component is investigated. The non-autonomous model equations are converted into autonomous equations by approximating the fast excitation terms with slowly varying terms. The downward hanging pipe position will lose stability if the mean flow speed exceeds a certain critical value. Adding a pulsating component to the fluid flow is shown to stabilize the hanging position for high values of the ratio between fluid and pipe-mass, and to marginally destabilize this position for low ratios. An approximate nonlinear solution for small-amplitude flutter oscillations is obtained using a fifth-order multiple scales perturbation method, and large-amplitude oscillations are examined by numerical integration of the autonomous model equations, using a path-following algorithm. The pulsating fluid component is shown to affect the nonlinear behavior of the system, e.g. bifurcation types can change from supercritical to subcritical, creating several coexisting stable solutions and also anti-symmetrical flutter may appear.  相似文献

In this paper, the nonlinear free vibration of the nanotube with damping effects is studied. Based on the nonlocal elastic theory and Hamilton principle, the governing equation of the nonlinear free vibration for the nanotube is obtained. The Galerkin method is employed to reduce the nonlinear equation with the integral and partial differential characteristics into a nonlinear ordinary differential equation. Then the relation is solved by the multiple scale method and the approximate analytical solution is derived. The nonlinear vibration behaviors are discussed with the effects of damping, elastic matrix stiffness, small scales and initial displacements. From the results, it can be observed that the nonlinear vibration can be reduced by the matrix damping. The elastic matrix stiffness has significant influences on the nonlinear vibration properties. The nonlinear behaviors can be changed by the small scale effects, especially for the structure with large initial displacement.  相似文献

This paper proposes a new method for investigating the Hopf bifurcation of a curved pipe conveying fluid with nonlinear spring support. The nonlinear equation of motion is derived by forces equilibrium on microelement of the system under consideration. The spatial coordinate of the system is discretized by the differential quadrature method and then the dynamic equation is solved by the Newton-Raphson method. The numerical solutions show that the inner fluid velocity of the Hopf bifurcation point of the curved pipe varies with different values of the parameter, nonlinear spring stiffness. Based on this, the cycle and divergent motions are both found to exist at specific fluid flow velocities with a given value of the nonlinear spring stiffness. The results are useful for further study of the nonlinear dynamic mechanism of the curved fluid conveying pipe.  相似文献

This paper investigates the nonlinear dynamic responses of the rotating blade with varying rotating speed under high-temperature supersonic gas flow. The varying rotating speed and centrifugal force are considered during the establishment of the analytical model of the rotating blade. The aerodynamic load is determined using first-order piston theory. The rotating blade is treated as a pretwist, presetting, thin-walled rotating cantilever beam. Using the isotropic constitutive law and Hamilton??s principle, the nonlinear partial differential governing equation of motion is derived for the pretwist, presetting, thin-walled rotating beam. Based on the obtained governing equation of motion, Galerkin??s approach is applied to obtain a two-degree-of-freedom nonlinear system. From the resulting ordinary equation, the method of multiple scales is exploited to derive the four-dimensional averaged equation for the case of 1:1 internal resonance and primary resonance. Numerical simulations are performed to study the nonlinear dynamic response of the rotating blade. In summary, numerical studies suggest that periodic motions and chaotic motions exist in the nonlinear vibrations of the rotating blade with varying speed.  相似文献
