Here Darcy–Forchheimer 3D stretching flow of nanoliquid in the presence of convective condition and homogeneous–heterogeneous reactions is analyzed. Impacts of thermophoresis, Brownian diffusion and zero nanoparticles mass flux condition are considered. Adequate transformation procedure give rise to system in terms of ordinary differential equations. The governing mathematical system has been tackled by optimal homotopic technique. Graphical results have been presented for temperature and concentration dsitributions. Numerical benchmark is provided to study the values of skin friction coefficients and local Nusselt number. Skin friction coefficients are declared increasing functions of porosity and Forchheimer parameters. Furthermore the local Nusselt number is reduced for larger values of porosity and Forchheimer parameters.  相似文献

This article explores Darcy–Forchheimer 3D flow of water-based carbon nanomaterial (CNTs). A bi-directional linear stretchable surface has been used to create the flow. Flow in porous space is represented by Darcy–Forchheimer expression. Heat transfer mechanism is explored through convective heating. Results for single-wall (SWCNTs) and multi-wall (MWCNTs) carbon nanotubes have been presented and compared. The reduction of partial differential system into nonlinear ordinary differential system is made through suitable variables. Optimal homotopic scheme is used for solutions development of governing flow problem. Optimal homotopic solution expressions for velocities and temperature are studied through graphs by considering various estimations of physical variables. Skin friction coefficients and local Nusselt number are analyzed through plots. Our findings show that the skin friction coefficients and local Nusselt number are enhanced for larger values of nanoparticles volume fraction.  相似文献

In this paper, the magnetohydrodynamic 3 D flow of Prandtl nanoliquid subject to convectively heated extendable surface has been discussed.A linear stretching surface makes the flow.Thermophoretic and Brownian motion impacts are explored.Heat transfer for convective procedure is considered.Prandtl liquid is taken electrically conducted through applied magnetic field.Suitable non-dimensional variables lead to strong nonlinear ordinary differential system. The obtained nonlinear differential systems are solved through optimal homotopic technique.Physical quantities like skin friction coefficients and Nusselt number are explored via plots. It is observed that effects of Hartman parameter and Biot number on temperature and concentration are quite similar. Both temperature and concentration are enhanced for larger values of Hartman parameter and Biot number.  相似文献

This paper investigates the laminar boundary layer flow of nanofluid induced by a radially stretching sheet. Nanofluid model exhibiting Brownian motion and thermophoresis is used. Series solutions for a reduced system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations are obtained by homotopy analysis method (HAM). Comparative study between the HAM solutions and previously published numerical results shows an excellent agreement. Velocity, temperature and mass fraction are displayed for various values of parameters. The local skin friction coefficient, the local Nusselt number and the local Sherwood number are computed. It is observed that the presence of nanoparticles enhances the thermal conductivity of base fluid. It is found that the convective heat transfer coefficient (Nusselt number) is decreased with an increase in concentration of nanoparticles whereas Sherwood number increases when concentration of nanoparticles in the base fluid is increased.  相似文献

Present model is devoted for the stagnation point flow of nanofluid with magneto-hydrodynamics (MHD) and thermal radiation effects passed over a stretching sheet. Moreover, we have considered the combined effects of velocity and thermal slip. Condition of zero normal flux of nanoparticles at the wall for the stretched flow phenomena is yet to be explored in the literature. Convinced partial differential equations of the model are transformed into the system of coupled nonlinear differential equations and then solved numerically. Graphical results are plotted for velocity, temperature and nanoparticle concentration for various values of emerging parameters. Variation of stream lines, skin friction coefficient, local Nusselt and Sherwood number are displayed along with the effective parameters. Final conclusion has been drawn on the basis of both numerical and graphs results.  相似文献

A steady magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow past a radially stretching or shrinking disk is investigated. The governing partial differential equations are transformed into a set of ordinary (similarity) differential equations by a similarity transformation. These equations along with the corresponding boundary conditions are solved numerically using the boundary value problem solver (bvp4c) in Matlab. The effects of magnetic field and suction on the shear stress and the heat transfer are analyzed and discussed. It is found that both parameters affect more in the shrinking region. The increase in the magnetic parameter results in the increase of the skin friction coefficient but decrease in the local Nusselt number. The skin friction coefficient and the local Nusselt number increase as suction increases.  相似文献

This paper presents the buoyancy effects on the magneto-hydrodynamics stagnation point flow of an incompressible, viscous, and electrically conducting nanofluid over a vertically stretching sheet. The impacts of an induced magnetic field and viscous dissipation are taken into account. Both assisting and opposing flows are considered. The overseeing nonlinear partial differential equations with the associated boundary conditions are reduced to an arrangement of coupled nonlinear ordinary differential equations utilizing similarity transformations and are then illuminated analytically by using the optimal homotopy investigation strategy(OHAM).Graphs are introduced and examined for different parameters of the velocity, temperature, and concentration profile.Additionally, numerical estimations of the skin friction, local Nusselt number, and local Sherwood number are explored using numerical values.  相似文献

This paper investigates combined heat and mass transfer by mixed magneto-convective flow of an electrically conducting flow along a moving radiating vertical flat plate with hydrodynamic slip and thermal convective boundary conditions. The governing transport equations are converted into a system of coupled nonlinear ordinary differential equations with prescribed boundary conditions using similarity variables developed by Lie group theory. The transformed nondimensional boundary value problem is then solved numerically with MAPLE13 quadrature. Excellent correlation with previous nonmagnetic, no-slip studies is achieved. Surface shear stress function and local Nusselt number (heat transfer gradient at the wall) are increased with Richardson number, whereas local Sherwood number is found to initially decrease then subsequently increase. The “thermally thick” scenario (Biot number > 0.1) is investigated and increasing Biot number is observed to enhance shear stress function (skin friction), local Nusselt number, and local Sherwood number. Increasing thermal radiation flux increases thermal boundary layer thickness as does increasing the magnetic field effect. Increasing hydrodynamic slip parameter reduces skin friction but enhances local Nusselt and Sherwood numbers. The study has applications in high-temperature polymeric synthesis and magnetic field flow control.  相似文献

The current investigation highlights the mixed convection slip flow and radiative heat transport of uniformly electrically conducting Williamson nanofluid yield by an inclined circular cylinder in the presence of Brownian motion and thermophoresis parameter.A Lorentzian magnetic body force model is employed and magnetic induction effects are neglected. The governing equations are reduced to a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations with associated boundary conditions by applying scaling group transformations. The reduced nonlinear ordinary differential equations are then solved numerically by Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg fifth-order method with shooting technique. The effects of magnetic field,Prandtl number, mixed convection parameter, buoyancy ratio parameter,Brownian motion parameter, thermophoresis parameter, heat generation/absorption parameter, mass transfer parameter, radiation parameter and Schmidt number on the skin friction coefficient and local Nusselt are analyzed and discussed. It is found that the velocity of the fluid decreases with decrease in curvature parameter, whereas it increases with mixed convection parameter.Further, the local Nusselt number decreases with an increase in the radiation parameter. The numerical comparison is also presented with the existing published results and found that the present results are in excellent agreement which also confirms the validity of the present methodology.  相似文献

An analysis is carried out to study the steady two-dimensional stagnation-point flow and heat transfer from a warm, laminar liquid flow to a melting stretching/shrinking sheet. The governing partial differential equations are converted into ordinary differential equations by similarity transformation, before being solved numerically using the Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg method. Results for the skin friction coefficient, local Nusselt number, velocity profiles as well as temperature profiles are presented for different values of the governing parameters. Effects of the melting parameter, stretching/shrinking parameter and Prandtl number on the flow and heat transfer characteristics are thoroughly examined. Different from a stretching sheet, it is found that the solutions for a shrinking sheet are non-unique.  相似文献

In this paper, the stagnation-point flow and heat transfer towards a shrinking sheet in a nanofluid is considered. The nonlinear system of coupled partial differential equations was transformed and reduced to a nonlinear system of coupled ordinary differential equations, which was solved numerically using the shooting method. Numerical results were obtained for the skin friction coefficient, the local Nusselt number as well as the velocity and temperature profiles for some values of the governing parameters, namely the nanoparticle volume fraction φ, the shrinking parameter λand the Prandtl number Pr. Three different types of nanoparticles are considered, namely Cu, Al2O3 and TiO2. It was found that nanoparticles of low thermal conductivity, TiO2, have better enhancement on heat transfer compared to nanoparticles Al2O3 and Cu. For a particular nanoparticle, increasing the volume fraction φ results in an increase of the skin friction coefficient and the heat transfer rate at the surface. It is also found that solutions do not exist for larger shrinking rates and dual solutions exist when λ < −1.0.  相似文献

The influence of mixed convection boundary layer flow of a viscoelastic fluid over an isothermal horizontal circular cylinder has been analyzed. The boundary layer equations governing the problem are reduced to dimensionless nonlinear partial differential equations and then solved numerically using Keller-box method. Skin friction coefficient and Nusselt number are emphasized specifically. These quantities are displayed against curvature parameter. Effects of mixed convection parameter and radiation-conduction parameter on skin friction coefficient and Nusselt number are illustrated through graphs and table. The boundary layer separation points along the surface of cylinder are also calculated with/without radiation, and a comparison is shown. The presence of radiation helps to reduce the skin friction coefficient in opposing flow case and enhances it for assisting flow case. The increase in value of radiation-conduction parameter helps increase the value of skin friction coefficient and Nusselt number for viscoelastic fluids. The boundary layer separation delays due to thermal radiation.  相似文献

The steady flow and heat transfer over a moving thin needle with prescribed surface heat flux is studied. The similarity equations are obtained by using similarity transformation technique. The problem is solved numerically using the boundary value problem solver (bvp4c) in Matlab software. The plots of the skin friction coefficient and the local Nusselt number as well as the velocity and temperature profiles are presented and their behaviors are discussed for different values of the needle size and the velocity ratio parameter. Results show that the decreasing of the needle size enhance the skin friction coefficient and the local Nusselt number on the needle surface. It is found that dual solutions exist (upper and lower branches) for a certain range of the velocity ratio parameter. A stability analysis of the solutions are performed and it shows that the upper branch solution is stable, while the lower branch solution is unstable.  相似文献

This research work explores the effect of hybrid nanoparticles on the flow over a rotating disk by using an activation energy model. Here, we considered molybdenum disulfide and ferro sulfate as nanoparticles suspended in base fluid water. The magnetic field is pragmatic normal to the hybrid nanofluid flow direction. The derived nonlinear ordinary differential equations are nondimensionalized and worked out numerically with the help of Maple software by the RKF-45method. The scientific results for a non-dimensionalized equation are presented for both nanoparticle and hybrid nanoparticle case. Accoutrements of various predominant restrictions on flow and thermal fields are scanned. Computation estimation for friction factor, local Nusselt number and Sherwood number are also executed. Results reveal that the reduction of the heat transfer rate is greater in hybrid nanoparticles when compared to nanoparticles for increasing values of Eckert Number and the thermal field enhances for the enhanced values of volume fraction.  相似文献

The present study is carried out to see the thermal-diffusion (Dufour) and diffusion-thermo (Soret) effects on the mixed convection boundary layer flow of viscoelastic nanofluid flow over a vertical stretching surface in a porous medium. Optimal homotopy analysis method (OHAM) is best candidate to handle highly nonlinear system of differ-ential equations obtained from boundary layer partial differential equations via appropriate transformations. Graphical illustrations depicting different physical arising parameters against velocity, temperature and concentration distributions with required discussion have also been added. Numerically calculated values of skin friction coefficient, local Nusselt and Sherwood numbers are given in the form of table and well argued. It is found that nanofluid velocity increases with increase in mixed convective and viscoelastic parameters but it decreases with the increasing values of porosity parameter. Also, it is observed that Dufour number has opposite behavior on temperature and concentration profiles.  相似文献

The paper investigates the effects of heat transfer in MHD flow of viscoelastic stratified fluid in porous medium on a parallel plate channel inclined at an angle θ. A laminar convection flow for incompressible conducting fluid is considered. It is assumed that the plates are kept at different temperatures which decay with time. The partial differential equations governing the flow are solved by perturbation technique. Expressions for the velocity of fluid and particle phases, temperature field, Nusselt number, skin friction and flow flux are obtained within the channel. The effects of various parameters like stratification factor, magnetic field parameter, Prandtl number on temperature field, heat transfer, skin friction, flow flux, velocity for both the fluid and particle phases are displayed through graphs and discussed numerically.  相似文献

The flow, heat and mass transfer of water-based nanofluid are examined between two horizontal parallel plates in a rotating system. The effects of Brownian motion, thermophoresis, viscosity and Hall current parameters are considered. The governing partial differential equations are reduced to ordinary differential equations that are then solved numerically using the Runge–Kutta–Fehlberg method. Validation of numerical solution is achieved with an exact solution of primary velocity and found to be in good agreement. Results show that both surfaces experience opposite behavior regarding skin friction, Nusselt and Sherwood numbers in both primary and secondary flows. These physical quantities depend upon dimensionless parameters and numbers.  相似文献

The magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) stagnation point flow of Casson nanofluid over a nonlinear stretching sheet in the presence of velocity slip and convective boundary condition is examined. In this analysis, various effects such as velocity ratio, viscous dissipation, heat generation/absorption and chemical reaction are accentuated. Possessions of Brownian motion and thermophoresis are also depicted in this study. A uniform magnetic field as well as suction is taken into account. Suitable similarity transformations are availed to convert the governing nonlinear partial differential equations to a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations and then series solutions are secured using a homotopy analysis method (HAM). Notable accuracy of the present results has been obtained with the earlier results. Impact of distinct parameters on velocity, temperature, concentration, skin friction coefficient,Nusselt number and Sherwood number is canvassed through graphs and tabular forms.  相似文献

The analysis of a viscous fluid flow and heat transfer is carried out under the influence of a constant applied magnetic field over a curved stretching sheet. Heat transfer analysis is carried out for two heating processes, namely, prescribed surface temperature (PST) and prescribed heat flux (PHF). The equations governing the flow are modeled in a curvilinear coordinate system (r, s, z). The nonlinear partial differential equations are then transformed to nonlinear ordinary differential equations by using similarity transformations. The obtained system of equations is solved numerically by a shooting method using Runge-Kutta algorithm. The interest lies in determining the influence of dimensionless radius of curvature on the velocity, temperature, skin friction, and rate of heat transfer at the wall prescribed by the Nusselt number. The effects of Hartmann number are also presented for the fluid properties of interest.  相似文献

The present study inspects the non-aligned stagnation point nano fluid over a convective surface in the presence of partial slip. Two types of base fluids namely water and kerosene are selected with Cu nanoparticles. The governing physical problem is presented and transformed into a system of coupled nonlinear differential equations using suitable similarity transformations. These equations are then solved numerically using midpoint integration scheme along with Richardson extrapolation via Maple.Impact of relevant physical parameters on the dimensionless velocity and temperature profiles are portrayed through graphs.Physical quantities such as local skin frictions co-efficient and Nusselt numbers are tabularized. It is detected from numerical computations that kerosene-based nano fluids have better heat transfer capability compared with water-based nanofluids. Moreover it is found that water-based nanofluids offer less resistance in terms of skin friction than kerosene-based fluid. In order to authenticate our present study, the calculated results are compared with the prevailing literature and a considerable agreement is perceived for the limiting case.  相似文献
