We show that the system of weakly bound molecules of heavy and light fermionic atoms is characterized by a long-range intermolecular repulsion and can undergo a gas-crystal quantum transition if the mass ratio exceeds a critical value. For the critical mass ratio above 100 obtained in our calculations, this crystalline order can be observed as a superlattice in an optical lattice for heavy atoms with a small filling factor. We also find that this novel system is sufficiently stable with respect to molecular relaxation into deep bound states and to the process of trimer formation.  相似文献

In this paper,we study quantum dynamics of entanglement and single excitation transfer(SET) in an LH1-RC-type trimer which can describe a basic unit cell in the LH1-RC complex in the photosynthetic process. It is shown that there exists a sudden change of entanglement at the critic point of quantum phase transition(QPT) of the system at low temperatures, the entanglement sudden change caused by the QPT is suppressed at higher temperatures. We investigate the influence of environment on entanglement and SET.We show the generation of the dephasing-assisted entanglement between a donor and an acceptor and the existence of the steady-state entanglement, and demonstrate the entanglement transfer from donor-donor entanglement to donor-acceptor entanglement in the dynamic evolution. We reveal the close relation between the SET probability and donor-acceptor entanglement.Especially,we find that the SET probability is proportional to the amount of donor-acceptor entanglement under certain conditions.  相似文献

Tensor network representations of many-body quantum systems can be described in terms of quantum channels. We focus on channels associated with the multiscale entanglement renormalization ansatz tensor network that has been recently introduced to efficiently describe critical systems. Our approach allows us to compute the multiscale entanglement renormalization ansatz correspondent to the thermodynamical limit of a critical system introducing a transfer matrix formalism, and to relate the system critical exponents to the convergence rates of the associated channels.  相似文献

We present the first pair plus three-body potential of water from ab initio calculations that quantitatively reproduces the experimental far-infrared spectra of the water dimer and trimer. The dimer spectrum was obtained from the pair potential through rigorous six-dimensional quantum calculations of the vibration-rotation-tunneling levels. The three-body interactions, together with the pair potential, produce an accurate representation of the hydrogen bond torsional levels of the water trimer.  相似文献

We study low temperature properties of a spinless interacting Fermi gas in the trimerized kagomé lattice. The case of two fermions per trimer is described by a quantum spin 1/2 model on the triangular lattice with couplings depending on the bond directions. Using exact diagonalizations we show that the system exhibits nonstandard properties of a quantum spin-liquid crystal, combining a planar antiferromagnetic order with an exceptionally large number of low-energy excitations.  相似文献

Recently, there has been growing interest in employing condensed matter systems such as quantum spin or harmonic chains as quantum channels for short distance communication. Many properties of such chains are determined by the spectral gap between their ground and excited states. In particular this gap vanishes at critical points of quantum phase transitions. In this article we study the relation between the transfer speed and quality of such a system and the size of its spectral gap. We find that the transfer is almost perfect but slow for large spectral gaps and fast but rather inefficient for small gaps. The text was submitted by the authors in English.  相似文献

We consider two-dimensional Ising models bounded by general parabolic curves and study their transfer matrices and associated quantum spin chains. We derive their eigenvalue spectra numerically and analytically, both at the critical point and in its vicinity. From this we find how the geometrical form of the system is reflected in the spectrum and how it influences the critical behaviour near the tip.  相似文献

Time-resolved photoluminescence (PL) characteristics of type-II GaAsSb/GaAs quantum wells are presented. The PL kinetics are determined by the dynamic band bending effect and the distribution of localized centers below the quantum well band gap. The dynamic band bending results from the spatially separated electron and hole distribution functions evolving in time. It strongly depends on the optical pump power density and causes temporal renormalization of the quantum well ground-state energy occurring a few nanoseconds after the optical pulse excitation. Moreover, it alters the optical transition oscillator strength. The measured PL lifetime is 4.5 ns. We point out the critical role of the charge transfer processes between the quantum well and localized centers, which accelerate the quantum well photoluminescence decay at low temperature. However, at elevated temperatures the thermally activated back transfer process slows down the quantum well photoluminescence kinetics. A three-level rate equation model is proposed to explain these observations.  相似文献

It is shown that quantum sustainability is a universal phenomenon which emerges during environment‐assisted electronic excitation energy transfer (EET) in photobiological complexes (PBCs), such as photosynthetic reaction centers and centers of melanogenesis. We demonstrate that quantum photobiological systems must be sustainable for them to simultaneously endure continuous energy transfer and keep their internal structure from destruction or critical instability. These quantum effects occur due to the interaction of PBCs with their environment which can be described by means of the reduced density operator and effective non‐Hermitian Hamiltonian (NH). Sustainable NH models of EET predict the coherence beats, followed by the decrease of coherence down to a small, yet non‐zero value. This indicates that in sustainable PBCs, quantum effects survive on a much larger time scale than the energy relaxation of an exciton. We show that sustainable evolution significantly lowers the entropy of PBCs and improves the speed and capacity of EET.  相似文献

We investigate the zero-temperature quantum phase transition of the randombond Ising chain in a transverse magnetic field. Its critical properties are identical to those of the McCoy-Wu model, which is a classical Ising model in two dimensions with layered disorder. The latter is studied via Monte Carlo simulations and transfer matrix calculations and the critical exponents are determined with a finite-size scaling analysis. The magnetization and susceptibility obey conventional rather than activated scaling. We observe that the order parameter and correlation function probability distribution show a nontrivial scaling near the critical point, which implies a hierarchy of critical exponents associated with the critical behavior of the generalized correlation lengths.  相似文献

We theoretically demonstrate optical pulsation based on optical near-field interactions between quantum nanostructures. It is composed of two quantum dot systems, each of which consists of a combination of smaller and larger quantum dots, so that optical excitation transfer occurs. With an architecture in which the two systems take the role of a timing delay and frequency up-conversion, we observe pulsation in populations pumped by continuous-wave light irradiation. The pulsation is induced with suitable setting of parameters associated with the optical near-field interactions. This will provide critical insights toward the design and implementation of experimental nanophotonic pulse generating devices.  相似文献

The spectral flow of three-body (trimer) states consisting of two heavy (impurity) particles sitting in a condensate of light bosons is considered. Assuming that the condensate is weakly interacting and that an impurity and a boson have a resonant zero-range two-body interaction, we use the Born-Oppenheimer approximation to determine the effective three-body potential. We solve the resulting Schrödinger equation numerically and determine the trimer binding energies as a function of the coherence length of the light bosonic condensate particles. The binding energy is found to be suppressed by the presence of the condensate when the energy scale corresponding to the coherence length becomes of order the trimer binding energy in the absence of the condensate. We find that the Efimov scaling property is reflected in the critical values of the condensate coherence length at which the trimers are pushed into the continuum.  相似文献

We investigate the conditions to entangle two qubits interacting with local environments driven by a continuous-variable correlated field. We find the conditions to transfer the entanglement from the driving field to the qubits both in dynamical and steady-state cases. We see how the quantum correlations initially present in the driving field play a critical role in the entanglement-transfer process. The system we treat is general enough to be adapted to different physical setups.  相似文献

We theoretically propose a photonic flash based on a linearly coupled cavity system. Via driving the two side cavities by external fields, it forms a cyclic energy-level diagram and therefore the phase difference between the driving fields acts as a controller of the steady state due to the quantum interference effect. In the optical trimer structure, we show that the perfect photonic flash can be realized in the situation of resonant driving. The perfect photonic flash scheme is furthermore generalized to multiple coupled cavity system, where the cavities with odd and even number turn bright and dark alternatively. Our proposal may be applied for designing the quantum neon and realizing a controllable photonic localization.  相似文献

We present the observation of critical coupling in a high- Q fused-silica microsphere whispering-gallery mode resonator coupled to a fiber taper. Extremely efficient and controlled power transfer to high- Q ( approximately 10(7)) resonators has been demonstrated. Off-resonance scattering loss was measured to be less than 0.3%. On-resonance extinction in transmitted optical power through the fiber coupler was measured as high as 26 dB at the critical coupling point. This result opens up a range of new applications in fields as diverse as near-field sensing and quantum optics.  相似文献

We study a model of close-packed dimers on the square lattice with a nearest neighbor interaction between parallel dimers. This model corresponds to the classical limit of quantum dimer models [D. S. Rokhsar and S. A. Kivelson, Phys. Rev. Lett. 61, 2376 (1988)]. By means of Monte Carlo and transfer matrix calculations, we show that this system undergoes a Kosterlitz-Thouless transition separating a low temperature ordered phase where dimers are aligned in columns from a high temperature critical phase with continuously varying exponents. This is understood by constructing the corresponding Coulomb gas, whose coupling constant is computed numerically. We also discuss doped models and implications on the finite-temperature phase diagram of quantum dimer models.  相似文献

We introduce a tight-binding chain with a single impurity to act as a quantum data bus for perfect quantum state transfer. Our proposal is based on the weak coupling limit of the two outermost quantum dots to the data bus, which is a gapped system induced by the impurity. By connecting two quantum dots to two sites of the data bus, the system can accomplish a high-fidelity and long-distance quantum state transfer. Numerical simulations for finite system show that the numerical and analytical results of the effective coupling strength agree well with each other. Moreover, we study the robustness of this quantum communication protocol in the presence of disorder in the couplings between the nearest-neighbor quantum dots. We find that the gap of the system plays an important role in robust quantum state transfer.  相似文献

The presence of coherence phenomenon due to the interference of probability amplitude terms, is one of the most important features of quantum mechanics theory. Recent experiments show the presence of quantum processes whose coherence provided over suddenly large interval-time. In particular, photosynthetic mechanisms in light-harvesting complexes provide oscillatory behaviors in quantum mechanics due to quantum coherence. In this work, we investigate the coherent quantum transfer energy for a single-excitation and nonlocal correlation in a dimer system modelled by a two-level atom system with and without time-dependent coupling effect. We analyze and explore the required conditions that are feasible with real experimental realization for optimal transfer of quantum energy and generation of nonlocal quantum correlation. We show that the enhancement of the probability for a single-excitation transfer energy is greatly benefits from the combination of the energy detuning and time-dependent coupling effect. We investigate the presence of quantum correlations in the dimer using the entanglement of formation. We also find that the entanglement between the donor and acceptor is very sensitive to the physical parameters and it can be generated during the coherent energy transfer. On the other hand, we study the dynamical behavior of the quantum variance when performing a measurement on an observable of the density matrix operator. Finally, an interesting relationship between the transfer probability, entanglement and quantum variance is explored during the time evolution in terms of the physical parameters.  相似文献
