We perform a holographic renormalization of the supergravity action and compute the stress tensor of the dual gauge theory incorporating the logarithmic running of the gauge coupling. From the stress tensor we obtain the shear viscosity and the entropy of the medium at temperature T, and investigate the ratio η/s.  相似文献

We study properties of strongly coupled CFT's with non-zero background electric charge in 1+11+1 dimensions by studying the dual gravity theory—which is a charged BTZ black hole. Correlators of operators dual to scalars, gauge fields and fermions are studied at both T=0T=0 and T≠0T0. In the T=0T=0 case we are also able to compare with analytical results based on AdS2AdS2 and find reasonable agreement. In particular the correlation between log periodicity and the presence of finite spectral density of gapless modes is seen. The real part of the conductivity (given by the current–current correlator) also vanishes as ω→0ω0 as expected. The fermion Green's function shows quasiparticle peaks with approximately linear dispersion but the detailed structure is neither Fermi liquid nor Luttinger liquid and bears some similarity to a “Fermi–Luttinger” liquid. This is expected since there is a background charge and the theory is not Lorentz or scale invariant. A boundary action that produces the observed non-Luttinger liquid like behavior (k  -independent non-analyticity at ω=0ω=0) in the Green's function is discussed.  相似文献

We investigate several aspects of exact black hole solutions in asymptotically Lifshitz spacetime. Firstly,we calculate the tidal forces and find that in the near horizon region of such black hole backgrounds, the tidal forces diverge in the near extremal limit. Secondly, we evaluate the Wilson loops in both extremal and finite temperature cases. Finally, we obtain the corresponding shear viscosity and square of the sound speed and find that the ratio of shear viscosity to entropy density takes the universal value 1/4π in arbitrary dimensions while the square of the speed of sound saturates the conjectured bound 1/3 in five dimensions.  相似文献

In this paper, we study peculiar properties of p‐wave superconductors in dilaton gravity. The scale invariance of the bulk geometry is effectively broken due to the existence of a dilaton. By coupling the dilaton to the non‐Abelian gauge field, i.e., ‐1/4 e‐β Φ FaμνFaμν, we find that the dissipative conductivity of the normal phase decreases and approaches zero at the zero frequency as β increases. Intuitively, the system behaves more and more like an insulator. When the hairy solution is turned on, the system crosses a critical point to the superconducting phase. We find that the critical chemical potential decreases with the increasing of β and the maximum height of the conductivity is suppressed gradually which are consistent with our intuition for insulator/supercondutor transition.  相似文献

In this paper we formulate the xp model on the AdS2 spacetime. We find that the spectrum of the Hamiltonian has positive and negative eigenvalues, whose absolute values are given by a harmonic oscillator spectrum, which in turn coincides with that of a massive Dirac fermion in AdS2. We extend this result to generic xp models which are shown to be equivalent to a massive Dirac fermion on spacetimes whose metric depend of the xp   Hamiltonian. Finally, we construct the generators of the isometry group SO(2,1)SO(2,1) of the AdS2 spacetime, and discuss the relation with conformal quantum mechanics.  相似文献

We explore the properties of the holographic fermions in extremal R-charged black hole background with a running chemical potential, as well as the dipole coupling between fermions and the gauge field in the bulk. We find that although the running chemical potential effect the location of the Fermi surface, it does not change the type of fermions. We also study the onset of the Fermi gap and the gap effected by running chemical potential and the dipole coupling. The spectral function in the limit ω→0ω0 and the existence of the Fermi liquid are also investigated. The running chemical potential and the dipole coupling altogether can make a non-Fermi liquid become the Landau–Fermi type.  相似文献

We discuss various approaches to the problem of determining which supersymmetric invariants are permitted as counterterms in maximally supersymmetric super Yang–Mills and supergravity theories in various dimensions. We review the superspace non-renormalisation theorems based on conventional, light-cone, harmonic and certain non-Lorentz covariant superspaces, and we write down explicitly the relevant invariants. While the first two types of superspace admit the possibility of one-half BPS counterterms, of the form F 4 and R 4 respectively, the last two do not. This suggests that UV divergences begin with one-quarter BPS counterterms, i.e. d 2 F 4 and d 4 R 4, and this is supported by an entirely different approach based on algebraic renormalisation. The algebraic formalism is discussed for non-renormalisable theories and it is shown how the allowable supersymmetric counterterms can be determined via cohomological methods. These results are in agreement with all the explicit computations that have been carried out to date. In particular, they suggest that maximal supergravity is likely to diverge at four loops in D = 5 and at five loops in D = 4, unless other infinity suppression mechanisms not involving supersymmetry or gauge invariance are at work.  相似文献

In this paper, we generalize the study of the model of holographic superconductors in excited states to the framework of massive gravity at the probe limit. By taking into account the effect of a massive graviton, we numerically present a family of solutions for holographic superconductors in excited states and find that the critical temperatures can be higher due to the effect of the massive graviton, in comparison with the superconductor in Einstein gravity. We also investigate the condensates and conductivities in the ground state and the excited states by studying various parameters that determine the framework of gravity background.  相似文献

There have been recent advances in the construction of algebraic curves for certain classes of string solutions in the context of the AdS/CFT correspondence. In this paper we obtain the Lax operators and associated spectral curves for circular and folded string solutions in AdS 5 × S 5 . In addition, we provide an original approach for the reconstruction of string solutions in S3 from their corresponding curves.  相似文献

We study holographic superconductors in the Schwarzschild–AdS black hole with a global monopole through a charged complex scalar field. We calculate the condensates of the charged operators in the dual conformal field theories (CFTs) and discuss the effects of the global monopole on the condensation formation. Moreover, we compute the electric conductive using the probe approximation and find that the properties of the conductive are quite similar to those in the Schwarzschild–AdS black hole. These results can help us know more about holographic superconductors in the asymptotic AdS black holes.  相似文献

We investigated the tendency in the variations of CFT2 when a rotating AdS3 black hole changes because of the fluxes transferred by the scattering of a massive scalar field according to the anti-de Sitter (AdS)/conformal field theory (CFT) correspondence. The conserved quantities of the black hole are definitely constrained by the extremal condition. Moreover, the laws of thermodynamics provide a direction for the changes in the conserved quantities. Therefore, the black hole cannot be extremal under the scattering; this is naturally preferred. According to the relationship between the rotating AdS3 black hole and dual CFT2, we find that such changes in the black hole constrain the variations in the eigenstates of dual CFT2. Furthermore, the tendency in the variations is closely related to the laws of thermodynamics.  相似文献

We give a brief introduction to the AdS/CFT correspondence and its application to QCD physics, especially its application in the study of quark-gluon-plasma(QGP) formed in the relativistic heavy ion collision (RHIC). This review is based on the talksgiven in several schools and programs for the phenomenologists working on nuclear physicsand particle physics.  相似文献

We construct a holographic p-wave superconductor model in the background of quintessence AdS black hole with an SU(2)Yang–Mills gauge field and then probe the efects of quintessence on the holographic p-wave superconductor. We investigate the relation between the critical temperature and the state parameter of quintessence, and present the numerical results for electric conductivity. It is shown that the condensation of the vector field becomes harder as the absolute value of the state parameter increases.Unlike the scalar condensate in the s-wave model, the condensation of the vector field in p-wave model can occur in the total value range of the state parameter wq of quintessence. These results could help us know more about holographic superconductor and dark energy.  相似文献

The gravity induced on the brane in the Randall–Sundrum (RS) infinite brane world is briefly reviewed. We also discuss the possibility of the absence of black hole configuration in this model based on the argument of the AdS/CFT correspondence.  相似文献
