We consider scenarios in the next-to-minimal supersymmetric model (NMSSM) where the CP-odd and charged Higgs bosons are very light. As we demonstrate, these can be obtained as simple deformations of existing phenomenological MSSM benchmarks scenarios with parameters defined at the weak scale. This offers a direct and meaningful comparison to the MSSM case. Applying a wide set of up-to-date constraints from both high-energy collider and flavor physics, the Higgs boson masses and couplings are studied in viable parts of parameter space. The LHC phenomenology of the light Higgs scenario for neutral and charged Higgs boson searches is discussed.  相似文献

The charged Higgs boson decays H±→W±A1 and H±→W±Hi are studied in the framework of the next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model (NMSSM). It is found that the decay rate for H±→W±A1 can exceed the rates for the τ±ν and tb channels both below and above the top–bottom threshold. The dominance of H±→W±A1 is most readily achieved when A1 has a large doublet component and small mass. We also study the production process pp→H±A1 at the LHC followed by the decay H±→W±A1, which leads to the signature W±A1A1. We suggest that pp→H±A1 is a promising discovery channel for a light charged Higgs boson in the NMSSM with small or moderate tanβ and dominant decay mode H±→W±A1. This W±A1A1 signature can also arise from the Higgsstrahlung process pp→W±H1 followed by the decay H1→A1A1. It is shown that there exist regions of parameter space where these processes can have comparable cross sections and we suggest that their respective signals can be distinguished at the LHC by using appropriate reconstruction methods. The recent LHC indications of a SM-like Higgs boson near 125 GeV are consistent not only with the Standard Model (SM) but also with Supersymmetry (SUSY). However naturalness arguments disfavour the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM). We consider the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM) with a SM-like Higgs boson near 125 GeV involving relatively light stops and gluinos below 1 TeV in order to satisfy naturalness requirements. We are careful to ensure that the chosen values of couplings do not become non-perturbative below the grand unification (GUT) scale, although we also examine how these limits may be extended by the addition of extra matter to the NMSSM at the two-loop level. We then propose four sets of benchmark points corresponding to the SM-like Higgs boson being the lightest or the second lightest Higgs state in the NMSSM or the NMSSM-with-extra-matter. With the aid of these benchmark points we discuss how the NMSSM Higgs boson near 125 GeV may be distinguished from the SM Higgs boson in future LHC searches.  相似文献

We explore through two simple models, the first in which scalars are treated as fundamental and the second in which they are composite objects, the possibility that representations containing doubly charged scalars may participate in the spontaneous breakdown of the SU(2) × U(1) symmetry of electroweak interactions. We show that such exotic Higgs bosons may posses unsuppressed coupling to pairs of gauge vector bosons and comment on the observability of these charged Higgs bosons through the Cahn-Dawson mechanism in high-energy hadron colliders.  相似文献

The investigation of the dynamics responsible for electroweak symmetry breaking is one of the prime tasks of the experiments at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). In this article, the potential of the ATLAS and CMS experiments for the discovery of a standard model Higgs boson and for Higgs bosons in the minimal supersymmetric extension is summarized. Emphasis is put on those studies which have been performed recently by the experimental collaborations using a realistic simulation of the detector performance. This includes a discussion of the search for Higgs bosons using the vector boson-fusion mode, a discussion on the measurement of Higgs boson parameters as well as a detailed review of the MSSM sector for different benchmark scenarios.  相似文献

We consider extensions of the next-to-minimal supersymmetric model (NMSSM) in which the observed neutrino masses are generated through a TeV scale inverse seesaw mechanism. The new particles associated with this mechanism can have sizable couplings to the Higgs field which can yield a large contribution to the mass of the lightest CP-even Higgs boson. With this new contribution, a 126 GeV Higgs is possible along with order of 200 GeV masses for the stop quarks for a broad range of tan β. The Higgs production and decay in the diphoton channel can be enhanced due to this new contribution. It is also possible to solve the little hierarchy problem in this model without invoking a maximal value for the NMSSM trilinear coupling and without severe restrictions on the value of tan β.  相似文献

The N = 4 supergravity theories with local SO(4) invariance are formulated in superspace. The gauged SO(4) theory with two coupling constants (g1, g2) is shown to reduce to three inequivalent models: g1 = g2 with negative cosmological constant, g1 = ?g2 with positive cosmological constant, and g1 = 0, g2 ≠ 0 which is a particular case of the Freedman-Schwarz gauged SU(2) ? We compare Higgs boson production mechanisms at multi-TeV hadronic colliders. In addition to the previously investigated processes gluon + gluon → H and qq → V1VH(V = W, Z), we consider Higgs boson formation by pairs of virtual W's or Z's, a process analogous to two-photon collisions in e+e? scattering. The Higgs production process W1W1H is dominated by longitudinal W's and is the most important mechanism for MH > 6 MW, if the top quark mass is about 30 GeV.  相似文献
