A novel route for a preparation of eccentric Au-titania core-shell nanoparticles using gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) with block copolymer shells as a template is reported. AuNPs with poly(2-vinyl pyridine)-block-poly(ethylene oxide) (PVP-b-PEO) block copolymer shells are first prepared by UV irradiation of the solution of PVP-b-PEO/HAuCl(4) complexes. Then the sol-gel reaction of titanium tetra-isopropoxide (TTIP) selectively on the surfaces of AuNPs leads to Au-titania core-shell composite nanoparticles. The eccentric Au-titania core-shell nanoparticles are obtained from the Au-titania core-shell composite nanoparticles by removal of organic interlayer by UV treatment. Photocatalytic activities of the resulting eccentric core-shell nanoparticles are investigated in terms of the degradation of methylene blue (MB). The results show that the eccentric core-shell structures endow the catalyst with greatly enhanced photocatalytic activity.  相似文献

Doubly thermoresponsive ABC brush‐linear‐linear triblock copolymer nanoparticles of poly[poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether vinylphenyl]‐block‐poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide)‐block‐polystyrene [P(mPEGV)‐b‐PNIPAM‐b‐PS] containing two thermoresponsive blocks of poly[poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether vinylphenyl] [P(mPEGV)] and poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) are prepared by macro‐RAFT agent mediated dispersion polymerization. The P(mPEGV)‐b‐PNIPAM‐b‐PS nanoparticles exhibit two separate lower critical solution temperatures or phase‐transition temperatures (PTTs) corresponding to the linear PNIPAM block and the brush P(mPEGV) block in water. Upon temperature increasing above the first and then the second PTT, the hydrodynamic diameter (Dh) of the triblock copolymer nanoparticles undergoes an initial shrinkage at the first PTT and the subsequent shrinkage at the second PTT. The effect of the chain length of the PNIPAM block on the thermoresponsive behavior of the triblock copolymer nanoparticles is investigated. It is found that, the longer chains of the thermoresponsive PNIPAM block, the greater contribution on the transmittance change of the aqueous dispersion of the triblock copolymer nanoparticles. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We report on the growth of gold nanoparticles in polystyrene/poly(2-vinyl pyridine) (PS/P2VP) star-shaped block copolymer monolayers. These amphiphilic PS(n)P2VP(n) heteroarm star copolymers differ in molecular weight (149,000 and 529,000 Da) and the number of arms (9 and 28). Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) deposition was utilized to control the spatial arrangement of P2VP arms and their ability to reduce gold nanoparticles. The PS(n)P2VP(n) monolayer acted as a template for gold nanoparticle growth because of the monolayer's high micellar stability at the liquid-solid interface, uniform domain morphology, and ability to adsorb Au ions from the water subphase. UV-vis spectra and AFM and TEM images confirmed the formation of individual gold nanoparticles with an average size of 6 ± 1 nm in the P2VP-rich outer phase. This facile strategy is critical to the formation of ultrathin polymer-gold nanocomposite layers over large surface areas with confined, one-sided positioning of gold nanoparticles in an outer P2VP phase at polymer-silicon interfaces.  相似文献

The synthesis of polymer‐matrix‐compatible amphiphilic gold (Au) nanoparticles with well‐defined triblock polymer poly[2‐(N,N‐dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate]‐b‐poly(methyl methacrylate)‐b‐poly[2‐(N,N‐dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate] and diblock polymers poly(methyl methacrylate)‐b‐poly[2‐(N,N‐dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate], polystyrene‐b‐poly[2‐(N,N‐dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate], and poly(t‐butyl methacrylate)‐b‐poly[2‐(N,N‐dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate] in water and in aqueous tetrahydrofuran (tetrahydrofuran/H2O = 20:1 v/v) at room temperature is reported. All these amphiphilic block copolymers were synthesized with atom transfer radical polymerization. The variations of the position of the plasmon resonance band and the core diameter of such block copolymer functionalized Au particles with the variation of the surface functionality, solvent, and molecular weight of the hydrophobic and hydrophilic parts of the block copolymers were systematically studied. Different types of polymer–Au nanocomposite films [poly(methyl methacrylate)–Au, poly(t‐butyl methacrylate)–Au, polystyrene–Au, poly(vinyl alcohol)–Au, and poly(vinyl pyrrolidone)–Au] were prepared through the blending of appropriate functionalized Au nanoparticles with the respective polymer matrices {e.g., blending poly[2‐(N,N‐dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate]‐b‐poly(methyl methacrylate)‐b‐poly[2‐(N,N‐dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate‐stabilized Au with the poly(methyl methacrylate)matrix only}. The compatibility of specific block copolymer modified Au nanoparticles with a specific homopolymer matrix was determined by a combination of ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and differential scanning calorimetry analyses. The facile formation of polymer–Au nanocomposites with a specific block copolymer stabilized Au particle was attributed to the good compatibility of block copolymer coated Au particles with a specific polymer matrix. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Well-defined four-arm star poly(?-caprolactone)-block-poly(cyclic carbonate methacrylate) (PCL-b-PCCMA) copolymers were synthesized by combining ring-opening polymerization (ROP) with atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). First, a four-arm poly(?-caprolactone) (PCL) macroinitiator [(PCL-Br)4] was prepared by the ROP of ?-CL catalyzed by stannous octoate at 110°C in the presence of pentaerythritol as the tetrafunctional initiator followed by esterification with 2-bromoisobutyryl bromide. The sequential ATRP of CCMA monomer was carried out by using the (PCL-Br)4 tetrafunctional macroinitiator (MI) and in the presence of CuBr/2, 2′-bipyridyl system in DMF at 80°C with [(MI)]:[CuBr]:[bipyridyl] = 1:1:3 to yield block polymers with controlled molecular weights (Mn (NMR) = 10700 to 27300 g/mol) by varying block lengths and with moderately narrow polydispersities (Mw/Mn = 1.2–1.4). Block copolymers with different PCL: PCCMA copolymer composition such as 50:50, 70:30 and 74:26 were prepared with good yields (48-74%). All these block copolymers were well characterized by NMR, FTIR and GPC and tested their thermal properties by DSC and TGA.  相似文献

The reaction of the digold(I) diacetylide [(AuCCCH2OC6H4)2CMe2] with diphosphane ligands can lead to formation of either macrocyclic ring complexes or [2]catenanes by self-assembly. This gives an easy route to rare organometallic [2]catenanes, and the effect of the diphosphane ligand on the selectivity of self-assembly is studied. With diphosphane ligands Ph2P(CH2)xPPh2, the simple ring complex [Au2[(CCCH2OC6H4)2CMe2](Ph2P(CH2)xPPh2)] is formed selectively when x = 2, but the [2]catenanes [Au2[(CCCH2OC6H4)2CMe2](Ph2P(CH2)xPPh2)]2 are formed when x = 4 or 5. When x = 3, a mixture of the simple ring and [2]catenane is formed, along with the "double-ring" complex, [Au4[(CCCH2OC6H4)2CMe2]2(Ph2P(CH2)3PPh2)2] and a "hexamer" Au2[(CCCH2OC6H4)2CMe2](Ph2P(CH2)3PPh2)]6] whose structure is not determined. A study of the equilibria between these complexes by solution NMR techniques gives insight into the energetics and mechanism of [2]catenane formation. When the oligomer [(AuCCCH2OC6H4)2CMe2] was treated with a mixture of two diphosphane ligands, or when two [2]catenane complexes [[Au2[(CCCH2OC6H4)2CMe2](diphosphane)]2] were allowed to equilibrate, only the symmetrical [2]catenanes were formed. The diphosphanes Ph2PCCPPh2, trans-[Ph2PCH=CHPPh2] and (Ph2PC5H4)2Fe give the corresponding ring complexes [Au2[(CCCH2OC6H4)2CMe2](diphosphane)], and the chiral, unsymmetrical diacetylide [Au2[(CCCH2OC6H4C(Me)(CH2CMe2)C6H3OCH2CC)] gives macrocyclic ring complexes with all diphosphane ligands Ph2P(CH2)xPPh2 (x = 2-5).  相似文献

A simple strategy to tailor the surface of nanoparticles for their specific adsorption to and localization at block copolymer interfaces was explored. Gold nanoparticles coated by a mixture of low molecular weight thiol end-functional polystyrene (PS-SH) (Mn = 1.5 and 3.4 kg/mol) and poly(2-vinylpyridine) homopolymers (P2VP-SH) (Mn = 1.5 and 3.0 kg/mol) were incorporated into a lamellar poly(styrene-b-2-vinylpyridine) diblock copolymer (PS-b-P2VP) (Mn = 196 kg/mol). A library of nanoparticles with varying PS and P2VP surface compositions (FPS) and high polymer ligand areal chain densities was synthesized. The location of the nanoparticles in the PS-b-P2VP block copolymer was determined by transmission electron microscopy. Sharp transitions in particle location from the PS domain to the PS/P2VP interface, and subsequently to the P2VP domain, were observed at FPS = 0.9 and 0.1, respectively. This extremely wide window of FPS values where the polymer-coated gold nanoparticles adsorb to the interface suggests a redistribution of PS and P2VP polymers on the Au surface, inducing the formation of amphiphilic nanoparticles at the PS/P2VP interface. In a second and synthetically more challenging approach, gold nanoparticles were covered with a thiol terminated random copolymer of styrene and 2-vinylpyridine synthesized by RAFT polymerization. Two different random copolymers were considered, where the molecular weight was fixed at 3.5 kg/mol and the relative incorporation of styrene and 2-vinylpyridine repeat units varied (FPS = 0.52 and 0.40). The areal chain density of these random copolymers on Au is unfortunately not high enough to preclude any contact between the P2VP block of the block copolymer and the Au surface. Interestingly, gold nanoparticles coated by the random copolymer with FPS = 0.4 were dispersed in the P2VP domain, while those with FPS = 0.52 were located at the interface. A simple calculation for the adsorption energy to the interface of the nanoparticles with different surface arrangements of PS and P2VP ligands supports evidence for the rearrangement of thiol terminated homopolymers. An upper limit estimate of the adsorption energy of nanoparticles uniformly coated with a random arrangement of PS and P2VP ligands where a 10% surface area was occupied by P2VP -mers or chains was approximately 1 kBT, which indicates that such nanoparticles are unlikely to be segregated along the interface, in contrast to the experimental results for nanoparticles with mixed ligand-coated surfaces.  相似文献

Chemical patterns consisting of poly(2-vinyl pyridine) (P2VP) brushes in a background of a cross-linked polystyrene (PS) mat enabled the highly selective placement of citrate-stabilized Au nanoparticles (NPs) in arrays on surfaces. The cross-linked PS mat prevented the nonspecific binding of Au NPs, and the regions functionalized with P2VP brushes allowed the immobilization of the particles. Isolated chemical patterns of feature sizes from hundreds to tens of nanometers were prepared by standard lithographic techniques. The number of 13 nm Au NPs bound per feature increased linearly with increasing area of the patterns. This behavior is similar to previous reports using 40 nm particles or larger. Arrays of single NPs were obtained by reducing the dimensions of patterned P2VP brushes to below ~20 nm. To generate dense (center-to-center distance = 80 nm) linear chemical patterns for the placement of rows of single NPs, a block-copolymer (BCP)-assisted lithographic process was used. BCPs healed defects associated with the standard lithographic patterning of small dimensions at high densities and led to highly registered, linear, single NP arrays.  相似文献

Micelle-supported gold composites with a polystyrene core and a poly(4-vinyl pyridine)/Au shell are synthesized using NaBH(4) to reduce a mixture of micelle and HAuCl(4) in acidic aqueous solution (pH approximately 2). The template micelle with a polystyrene core and a poly(4-vinyl pyridine) shell is formed by self-assembly of block copolymer polystyrene-block-poly(4-vinyl pyridine). The gold nanoparticles coated onto the surfaces of the composites possess an average diameter of about 15 nm. The composites are applied to catalyze the reduction of p-nitrophenol in the presence of NaBH(4), and the results indicate that the kinetic constant of the reaction increases when the composite concentration and the reaction temperature increase. In addition, research results also indicate that composites with high content of gold show higher catalytic activity and higher catalytic efficiency.  相似文献

[Pentakis[(triphenylphosphine)gold(I)]ammonium(2+)] bis[(tetrafluoroborate)(1-)] was prepared from [tetrakis[(triphenylphosphine)gold(I)]-ammonium(1+)] [tetrafluoroborate(1-)] and [(triphenylphosphine)gold(I)] tetrafluoroborate in hexamethyl phosphoric triamide and tetrahydrofuran at 20 degrees C in 53% yield and crystallized from dichloromethane as the new solvate [[(Ph3P)Au]5N]3 [BF4]6 [CH2Cl2]4. The crystal structure of this product has been determined by single-crystal X-ray methods [monoclinic, P2(1/n), a = 34.200(3), b = 15.285(1), c = 53.127(3) A, beta = 107.262(2) degrees, V = 26521(3) A3, Z = 12, at 153 K]. The lattice contains three independent trinuclear dications that have no crystallographically imposed symmetry and are mutually similar in their molecular structure. The geometry of the [Au5N] core with pentacoordinate nitrogen atoms is intermediate between trigonal-bipyramidal and square pyramidal with severe distortions to minimize the Au-Au distances along some of the edges of the polyhedra. The three structures are thus different from that found previously in the tetrahydrofuran solvate [[(Ph3P)-Au]5N](BF4)2(C4H8O)2, where the geometry of the same trinuclear dication is closer to the trigonal-bipyramidal reference model. The new results are discussed in the light of the structures of tetra(gold)ammonium cations in salts of the type [[(Ph3P)Au]4N]+X- and of related tetra-, penta-, and hexacoordinate poly(gold)phosphonium, -arsonium, -sulfonium, and -selenonium cations.  相似文献

Aqueous dispersions of gold nanoparticles protected with a stimuli-sensitive diblock copolymer were studied as a function of pH and temperature. Poly(methacrylic acid)-block-poly(N-isopropylacrylamide), PMAA-b-PNIPAM, copolymer was synthesized using the RAFT technique. A one-pot method utilizing the dithiobenzoate functionalized polymer was used to prepare gold nanoparticles protected with PMAA-b-PNIPAM. The gold nanoparticles coated with block copolymers, with the PNIPAM block bound to the particle surface and PMAA as an outer block form stimuli-sensitive aggregates in water. The changes in the absorption maxima of the surface plasmon resonance, SPR, of the gold particles and in the size of the aggregates were investigated as a function of pH and temperature. pH was observed to affect the size of the aggregates, whereas the effect of temperature was moderate. However, a blue shift in the SPR was observed both with decreasing pH and increasing temperature. Whereas the PMAA blocks control the colloidal stability of the particles and their aggregates, the thermo-sensitive PNIPAM blocks have a noticeable effect on the polarity of the immediate surroundings of the particles.  相似文献

[Poly(2-(N,N-dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate)]-b-poly(methyl methacrylate)-b-[poly(2-(N,N-dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate)] (M(n)=45,000; 20K-5K-20K; PDI = 1.2) block copolymer surfactant stabilized amphiphilic gold-silver alloy nanoparticles (Au-Ag(PDMA-b-PMMA-b-PDMA)) has been synthesized in both water and in organic medium. The block copolymer stabilized pre-made alloy nanoparticles were successfully dispersed in hydrophobic poly(methyl methacrylate) homopolymer matrix (PMMA) of molecular weight 30,000. The successful synthesis of alloy nanoparticles was accessed by Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM), Energy Dispersed X-ray (EDX), and UV-visible spectrophotometric analysis. The surface functionality of the nanoparticles was confirmed by quantitative determining the grafting density of polymer chain around the nanoparticle surface using combination of thermo gravimetric (TGA) and TEM analysis. The hydrodynamic diameter of the alloy particles including the polymer chains was obtained from dynamic light scattering measurement (DLS). The mechanism of synthesis of high concentration of Au-Ag alloy particles from HAuCl(4) and AgNO(3) (in presence of Cl(-) from reduction of gold salt) metal particles precursors and the successful preparation of poly(methyl methacrylate)/gold-silver nanocomposite films have been discussed.  相似文献

Surface-tethered oppositely charged weak polyelectrolyte block copolymer brushes composed of poly(2-vinyl pyridine) (P2VP) and poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) were grown from the Si wafer by atom-transfer radical polymerization. The P2VP-b-PAA brushes were prepared through hydrolysis of the second PtBA block to the corresponding acrylic acid. The P2VP-b-PAA brushes with different PAA block length were obtained. The P2VP-b-PAA brushes revealed a unique reversible wetting behavior with pH. The difference between the solubility parameters for P2VP and PAA, the changes of surface chemical composition and surface roughness, and the reversible wetting behavior illustrated that the surface rearrangement occurred during treatment of the P2VP-b-PAA brushes by aqueous solution with different pH value. The reversible properties of the P2VP-b-PAA brushes can be used to regulate the adsorption of the sulfonated PS nanoparticles.  相似文献

Poly[(L-histidine)-co-(L-phenylalanine)]-block-poly(ethylene glycol) (HF-b-PEG) diblock copolymers were synthesized to be used for preparation of pH-sensitive polymeric micelles. First, HF block was synthesized by ring opening copolymerization of L-histidine and L-phenylalanine N-carboxyanhydride, and then the resulting copolymer was coupled with PEG. The pKa value of diblock copolymer can be controlled by adjusting the histidine/phenylalanine ratio in HF block. It is observed that the block copolymers form micelles in aqueous media and that the micelles are spherical in shape with a unimodal distribution. The micelle is formed at pH higher than pKa of block copolymer while it is not formed at lower pH. This is because the protonation of histidine residue in the HF block converts the hydrophobic core into hydrophilic one at lower pH. The new 2-phenylthiocarbamoyl-1,3-dimesitylimidazolium inner salt (IMes·CSNPh) reacts with [AuCl(L)] in the presence of NH(4)PF(6) to yield [(L)Au(SCNPh·IMes)](+) (L = PMe(3), PPh(3), PCy(3), CNBu(t)). The carbene-containing precursor [(IDip)AuCl] reacts with IMes·CSNPh under the same conditions to afford the complex [(IDip)Au(SCNPh·IMes)](+) (IDip = 1,3-bis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)imidazol-2-ylidene). Treatment of the diphosphine complex [(dppm)(AuCl)(2)] with one equivalent of IMes·CSNPh yields the digold metallacycle, [(dppm)Au(2)(SCNPh·IMes)](2+), while reaction of [L(2)(AuCl)(2)] with two equivalents of IMes·CSNPh results in [(L(2)){Au(SCNPh·IMes)}(2)](2+) (L(2) = dppb, dppf, or dppa; dppb = 1,4-bis(diphenylphosphino)butane, dppf = 1,1'-bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene, dppa = 1,4-bis(diphenylphosphino)acetylene). The homoleptic complex [Au(SCNPh·IMes)(2)](+) is formed on reaction of [AuCl(tht)] (tht = tetrahydrothiophene) with two equivalents of the imidazolium-2-phenylthiocarbamoyl ligand. This product reacts with AgOTf to yield the mixed metal compound [AuAg(SCNPh·IMes)(2)](2+). Over time, the unusual trimetallic complex [Au(AgOTf)(2)(SCNPh·IMes)(2)](+) is formed. The sulfur-oxygen mixed-donor ligands IMes·COS and SIMes·COS (SIMes = 1,3-bis(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)imidazolin-2-ylidene) were used to prepare [(L)Au(SOC·IMes)](+) and [(L)Au(SOC·SIMes)](+) from [(L)AuCl] (L = PPh(3), CN(t)Bu). The bimetallic examples [(dppf){Au(SOC·IMes)}(2)](2+) and [(dppf){Au(SOC·SIMes)}(2)](2+) were synthesized from the reaction of [(dppf)(AuCl)(2)] with the appropriate ligand. Reaction of [(tht)AuCl] with one equivalent of IMes·COS or SIMes·COS yields [Au(SOC·IMes)(2)](+) and [Au(SOC·SIMes)(2)](+), respectively. The compounds [(Ph(3)P)Au(SCNPh·IMes)]PF(6), [(Cy(3)P)Au(SCNPh·IMes)]PF(6) and [Au(AgOTf)(2)(SCNPh·IMes)(2)]OTf were characterized crystallographically.  相似文献

Gold nanoparticles by using the mixture of polystyrene-block-poly(2-vinyl pyridine)/poly(2-vinyl pyridine)-block-poly(ethylene oxide) (PS-b-P2VP/P2VP-b-PEO) block copolymers as encapsulating agent was prepared. The prepared nanoparticles were characterized by transmission electron microscopy, UV-Vis spectroscopy and contact angle. It is demonstrated that the obtained gold nanoparticles are covered with mixed block copolymer shells. The hydrophilic property of the nanoparticles can be varied by the change of the dispersion medium. The obtained gold nanoparticles with mixed block copolymer shells are stable in organic solvents (such as tetrahydrofuran and toluene) and water.  相似文献

We report a facile strategy to synthesize amphiphilic gold (Au) nanoparticles functionalized with a multilayer, micelle-like structure consisting of a Au core, an inner hydroxylated polyisoprene (PIOH) layer, and an outer polystyrene shell (PS). Careful control of enthalpic interactions via a systematic variation of structural parameters, such as number of hydroxyl groups per ligand (N(OH)) and styrene repeating units (N(PS)) as well as areal chain density of ligands on the Au-core surface (Σ), enables precise control of the spatial distribution of these nanoparticles. This control was demonstrated in a lamellae-forming poly(styrene-b-2-vinylpyridine) (PS-b-P2VP) diblock copolymer matrix, where the favorable hydrogen-bonding interaction between hydroxyl groups in the PIOH inner shell and P2VP chains in the PS-b-P2VP diblock copolymer matrix, driving the nanoparticles to be segregated in P2VP domains, could be counter balanced by the enthalphic penalty of mixing of the PS outer brush with the P2VP domains. By varying N(OH), N(PS), and Σ, the nanoparticles could be positioned in the PS or P2VP domains or at the PS/P2VP interface. In addition, the effect of additives interfering with the hydrogen-bond formation between hydroxyl groups on Au nanoparticles and P2VP chains in a diblock copolymer matrix was investigated, and an interesting pea-pod-like segregation of Au nanoparticles in PS domains was observed.  相似文献

Different mechanisms of the thermal decomposition of the complex [(CH3)2Au(acac)] and the subsequent formation of Au particles are considered using density functional theory. The first decomposition step is the intramolecular reductive elimination of the methyl groups yielding ethane and the complex [Au(acac)], which dimerizes into the dinuclear complex [Au2(acac)2] with an energy gain. The presence of the coordinatively unsaturated center [Au(acac)] results in a considerable decrease in the activation energy of decomposition of the complex [(CH3)2Au(acac)]. The [Au2(acac)2] dimer undergoes association, again with an energy gain, to form linear polymer chains with short Au-Au bonds, which act as the nanoparticle nucleation centers.  相似文献

To control the surface properties of a polystyrene-block-poly(ethylene oxide) diblock copolymer, perfluorinated chemical moieties were specifically incorporated into the block copolymer backbone. A polystyrene-block-poly[(ethylene oxide)-stat-(allyl glycidyl ether)] [PS-b-P(EO-stat-AGE)] statistical diblock terpolymer was synthesized with varying incorporations of allyl glycidyl ether (AGE) in the poly(ethylene oxide) block from 0 to 17 mol %. The pendant alkenes of the AGE repeat units were subsequently functionalized by thiol-ene chemistry with 1H,1H,2H,2H-perfluorooctanethiol, yielding fluorocarbon-functionalized AGE (fAGE) repeat units. (1)H NMR spectroscopy and size-exclusion chromatography indicated well-defined structures with complete functionalization of the pendant alkenes. The surfaces of the polymer films were characterized after spray coating by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and near-edge X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy (NEXAFS), showing that the P(EO-stat-fAGE) block starts to compete with polystyrene to populate the surface after only 1 mol % incorporation of fAGE. Increasing the incorporation of fAGE led to an increased amount of perfluorocarbons on the surface and a decrease in the concentration of PS. At a fAGE incorporation of 8 mol %, PS was not detected at the surface, as measured by NEXAFS spectroscopy. Water contact angles measured by the captive-air-bubble technique showed the underwater surfaces to be dynamic, with advancing and receding contact angles varying by >20°. Protein adsorption studies demonstrated that the fluorinated surfaces effectively prevent nonspecific binding of proteins relative to an unmodified PS-b-PEO diblock copolymer. In biological systems, settlement of spores of the green macroalga Ulva was significantly lower for the fAGE-incorporated polymers compared to the unmodified diblock and a polydimethylsiloxane elastomer standard. Furthermore, the attachment strength of sporelings (young plants) of Ulva was also reduced for the fAGE-containing polymers, affirming their potential as fouling-release coatings.  相似文献
