We present the first data on the exclusive (p,e+e) reaction in a nucleus. Cross sections for populating the ground state and first excited state in the residual nucleus are presented for the reaction 11B(p, e+e)12C at 98 MeV. The e+e momentum vectors were measured with a high-resolution magnetic pair spectrometer. The distributions of the virtual photon invariant mass and of the direction of the electron in the virtual photon rest system are compared with a simple single-nucleon model. The (p,e+e) cross sections are compared with corresponding data for the (p, γ) reaction obtained with the same apparatus. The (p,e+e) cross sections show substantial enhancement over what is expected from the simple model.  相似文献

Polarization effects in the inclusive process e + p e + + X due to the neutral current are studied in the framework of the Weinberg-Salam model. Expressions for the asymmetry parameters and the degree of circular polarization of the photons are obtained in the quark-parton picture. T-odd correlations that are possible in the processes n + p d + and n + p d + e+ + ee- and that arise due to the capture of thermal neutrons are determined in terms of threshold amplitudes (for the process n + p d + @#@) or electromagnetic inelastic form factors (for the process n + p d+ e+ + ee§-). The s-channel annihilation of a proton and an antiproton into a neutral pion and a real or virtual photon followed by lepton pair emission is studied. Such a mechanism is expected to play a role at moderate values of the total energy $ \sqrt s $ , when the pion is emitted in the angular region around 90° in the center-of-mass system. A fair comparison with the existing data is obtained taking scattering and annihilation channels into account. The cross section is calculated and numerical results are given in the kinematical range accessible in the PANDA experiment at FAIR.  相似文献

The production of the lightest stable neutralino in the process including general mixing of gauginos and Higgsinos is studied. General formulas for the differential cross section are presented. The dependence of the differential cross section on the photon energy spectrum and also the dependence of the total cross section on the beam energies for three different mixing scenarios are illustrated. We calculate the differential cross section for the weak, strangeness changing, electron scattering process, e + pΛ + ν, for incoming electron energies of 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 4.0, and 6.0 GeV. We obtain as well contributions of the individual form factors to the differential cross sections. We find that the differential cross sections peak as the maximal scattering angle for the Λ is approached and that the peak height increases as the electron energy is increased. The behavior of the differential cross section near the maximal angle is discussed as is the possibility of observing this reaction in a facility such as TJNAF.  相似文献

A new highly modular and generic Partial Wave Analysis (PWA) software package including a general framework for future hadron spectroscopy experiments like PANDA is currently under development. The aims and present status of the software package are summarized and the first PWA results obtained with the already existing tools are presented. These analyses are mainly focused on important aspects of antiproton proton annihilation processes with relevance for the PANDA experiment. For this purpose Crystal Barrel LEAR data are currently under investigation in order to gain a deeper insight to the production mechanisms of vector mesons. In addition analyses for the identification of resonances in radiative J / ψ decays from BESIII data are summarized.  相似文献

The cross-sections for the reactions of the strange production p + p ↦ p + Λ + K+ and p + p ↦ p + Σ0 + K+ near thresholds of the final states pΛK+ and pΣ0K+ are calculated in the effective Lagrangian approach. Our approach is based on the dominant contribution of the one-pion exchange and strong interaction of the colliding protons in the initial state. The theoretical values of the cross-sections agree reasonably well with the experimental data. The polarization properties of the Λ- and Σ0-hyperons are discussed.  相似文献

For the exclusive (e, e′p) reaction, we discuss the possibility of observing effects due to swollen nucleons in the nuclear medium, such as 40Ca and 208Pb, by introducing form factors of the nucleon in the nuclear medium. These form factors include effectively the change of nucleon properties in the nuclear medium. This calculation is performed by using a Dirac-Hartree single particle model for a bound state and a relativistic optical model for a continuum state with inclusion of the electron Coulomb distortion. The effect of the form factor, which increases with higher momentum transfer (q ≥ 400MeV/c) is too small to be discerned from the errors on the available experimental data. But it affects the determination of spectroscopic factors to some extent.  相似文献

The production ofW bosons in electronpositron colliding beams below theW + W ? threshold is discussed. The corresponding reactions \(e^ + e^ - \to l^ \pm W^ \mp \mathop {\nu _l }\limits^{( - )} \) yield total cross-sections of the order of 10?37 cm2 (forl=e) and 10?38 cm2 (forl=μ). The total cross-sections as well as the angular and energy distributions of theW boson in \(e^ + e^ - \to e^ \pm W^ \mp \mathop {\nu _e }\limits^{( - )} \) are sensitive to the magnetic moment of theW. So, with this reaction, not onlyW bosons can be produced but also the gauge nature of the interaction can be tested. The decay \(Z^0 \to l^ \pm W^ \mp \mathop {\nu _l }\limits^{( - )} \) is discussed in view of its observation ine + e ? experiments. Finally the crosssections ofe - pν e W - X + are computed. They are of the order of 10?38 cm2 for \(\sqrt s \simeq 200\) GeV.  相似文献

We have studied the p+p0+X inclusive reaction data of Carey et al. in the framework of the scaling in the mean hypothesis first proposed by Dao et al. These data have been used to obtain the gamma ray spectrum in terms of the average value of the Feynman variablex, written as x.A comparison with the observed gamma ray spectrum at Mt. Chacaltaya by the Japanese and Brazilian Group gives the energy dependence of x at very high energy.  相似文献

Vector-boson loop corrections to the ϱ-parameter are considered for vector-boson self-interactions following from global SU(2)WI broken by electromagnetism. Minimizing the degree of divergence of the ϱ-parameter restricts the free trilinear vector-boson self-couplings to a single one, the anomalous magnetic dipole moment, κ, of the W+-. The analysis of e+eW+W shows that this process is well suited for accurately determining this remaining free parameter, κ.  相似文献

We compare the pT dependence of pion, kaon and proton production cross sections in the central rapidity region in e+e annihilation events and in proton-proton collisions at ISR energies. We find similarities both in the pT dependence of cross sections and in the particle composition as a function of pT, in agreement with the hypothesis of a universal mechanism of particle production.  相似文献

The e + e ? → ω, ρ → π0 e + e ? processes have been investigated in the experiments with Spherical Neutral Detector at the VEPP-2M e + e ? collider. The measurements provide the probability ?(ω → π0 e + e ?) = (0.761 ± 0.053 ± 0.064) × 10?3 of the ω → π0 e + e g- conversion decay and the upper limit ?(ρ → π0 e + e ?) < 1.2 × 10?5 (at 90% CL) for the ρ → π0 e + e ? decay. The transition form factor was measured at three values of the 4-momentum transfer squared.  相似文献
