Photooxidation of single crystals of 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol and 2,6-di-tert-butylphenol, respectively, led to localized pair-wise trapping of triplet phenoxyl radical pairs. Electron ejection is not implicated in the primary photooxidation of phenols in single crystals, but in liquid solutions time-resolved CIDEP observations for the 2,4,6-tritert-butylphenol in hexaftuorobenzene suggest an initial formation of a phenol radical cation from the photoexcited triplet state.  相似文献

Structural effects on the rates of formic acid oxidation have been studied on Pd(111), Pd(100), Pd(110), and Pd(S)-[n(100) x (111)] (n = 2-9) electrodes in 0.1 M HClO4 containing 0.1 M formic acid with use of voltammetry. On the low index planes of Pd, the maximum current density of formic acid oxidation (jP) increases in the positive scan as follows: Pd(110) < Pd(111) < Pd(100). This order differs from that on the low index planes of Pt: Pt(111) < Pt(100) < Pt(110). Pd(S)-[n(100) x (111)] electrodes with terrace atomic rows n > or = 3 have almost the same jP as Pd(100), except Pd(911) n = 5. The value of jP on Pd(911) n = 5 is 20% higher than those of the other surfaces. Pd(311) n = 2, of which the first layer is composed of only step atoms, has the lowest jP in the Pd(S)-[n(100) x (111)] series. The adsorption geometry of the reaction intermediate (formate ion) is optimized by using density functional theory.  相似文献

Salicylideneaniline originally crystallized from a solution has lemon yellow color. Irradiation with near ultraviolet causes the color change from yellow to red. The red state changes spontaneously back to yellow in 2ms. This change is accelerated by visible light. Kinetic data are reported in the temperature range between 10 and 60 degrees C, for the dark fading reactions of the colored isomers formed by the near ultraviolet irradiation. Observed the decay kinetics was first order reactions. Activation energies and entropies of activation are reported for ethanol. The observation of T-T absorption and emission were complicated due to the colored isomer formation during the optical pumping.  相似文献

Face-selective decoration of a single crystal constructed from 1-pyrenemethylammonium chloride by an anionic porphyrin dye is reported. CLSM observations indicated that the {001} face of the single crystal was selectively coated by the anionic porphyrin (TPPS). This novel achievement could be the first step for preparation of multi-component composite materials mediated by anisotropy of organic single crystals toward photochemical devices.  相似文献

A new quartz crystal microbalance sensor is developed to determine formic acid at low concentrations. Four previously selected polymers with acid-base characteristics were tested as possible coatings. Polyoxyethylene bis [amine] presented the best results. The sensor is rapid, sensitive [0.67 Hz/(mg/m3)], and reversible at low concentrations. The detection limit for formic acid (7.2 mg/m3) is comparable with the short term exposure limit and the threshold limit values. It presents a fast mechanical response to pressure changes, so that it can be quickly used in different environments and situations. The sensor also shows a good stability in a temperature range typical of work atmospheres (16-36 degrees C). It has a wide linear range (7.2-911.2 mg/m3) and a long useful time. It is also applicable to other low molecular mass carboxylic acids such as acetic acid.  相似文献

The photoreaction of the solution system of naphthalene and 2,6-di-tert-butyl-p-cresol was investigated by a combination of optical spectroscopy, ESR and time-resolved CIDEP techniques. ESR signal of 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenoxy radical was detected during 308 nm irradiation. Three different types of polarization mechanisms contribute to the CIDEP of the phenoxy radicals. In the initial stage RPM with singlet precursor predominates, whereas RPM with F-pairtnplet precursor persists at later stage. The contribution from TM is superimposed during all the time regions but to a small extent. Both the CIDEP intensity at the initial stage as well as the depletion rate of naphthalene during photolysis were found to be proportional to the square of the light intensity, which indicates that most phenoxy radicals were produced via a biphotonic process.  相似文献

The structure and spectroscopy (electronic and vibrational) of formic acid (HCOOH) dimers and trimers are investigated by means of the hybrid (B3LYP) density-functional theory. Adsorption of single and dimer HCOOH on amorphous water ice surface is modeled using two different water clusters. Particular attention has been given to spectroscopic consequences. Several hypotheses on formic acid film growing on ice and incorporation of a single water molecule in the formic acid film are proposed.  相似文献

Using the fast optical technique of laser flash photolysis by a kinetic absorption detector, the photophysical and photochemical processes of folic acid have been observed. By comparison of transient absorptions from photolysis between folic acid and its components, pteroic acid, pterin and 6-carboxypterin, it has been demonstrated that electron-transfer reactions from 4-aminobenzoyl group to the triplet pterin moiety occur through intra- and inter-molecular processes of folic acid. The intermolecular electron-transfer reaction is suggested to be mediated by two tautomers of triplet states of folic acid, lactim and lactam, in different rate constants, 1.4 × 109 and 1.6 × 108 M−1 s−1, respectively.  相似文献

The CASSCF and DFT methods have been used to determine geometric and electronic structures of the benzoic acid monomer in the S(0), S(1), S(2), T(1), and T(2) electronic states. The S(1)/T(2)/T(1) three-surface intersection was found by the state-averaged CASSCF calculations, which, in combination with features of the five lowest electronic states, provides new insights into photophysical processes of the benzoic acid monomer. The potential energy profiles of the alpha C-C and C-O bond fissions as well as decarboxylation reaction in different electronic states have been determined for the benzoic acid monomer. The alpha C-O bond cleavage starts from the T(2) state and leads to the fragments of C(6)H(5)CO(X(2)A') and OH(X(2)Pi) in the ground state, which is predicted to be the most possible channel upon photoexcitation of the benzoic acid monomer at 270 nm or shorter wavelengths.  相似文献

The formic acid reduction of azomethine which has been reported2 to proceed nearly quantitatively by the use of the formate reagent, 5HCO2H·2NEt3, was kinetically investigated by the carbon dioxide trapping and UV spectroscopic methods, using N-benzylideneaniline as a representative. Rate data gave the rate equation, v = (k + k′ [NEt3])[N-benzylideneaniline][HCO2H], indicating two-path mechanism. By the technique of using deuterated formic acids, it was found that the hydrogen bound to the carbon of formic acid is transferred as hydride to the carbon of the CN double bond in the rate determining step. The reaction is facilitated by the electron-releasing substituents of the two benzene rings of N-benzylideneaniline. On the bases of these results a possible mechanism is proposed.  相似文献

Carbon-13 fractionation observed in the course of carbon monoxide formation in the reaction of phenylacetylene with the large excess of liquid formic acid in the temperature interval 20–100°C has been investigated and compared with the13C fractionation in the dehydration of pure liquid formic acid. The anomalous temperature dependence of the13C fractionation has been interpreted as caused by the change of the kinetics and of the mechanism of CO formation from the one involving13C–H bond rupture rate determining step (operating in the presence of phenylacetylene) to the mechanism according to which HCOOH decarbonylates in liquid state. No large increase of the13C fractionation with rising of the reaction temperature from 70 to 134°C has been found in the case of decarbonylation of F.A. in the presence of large excess of phenylacetylene. The13C KIE was of 1.020 in the temperature interval 90–133.7°C in this case.  相似文献

The13C fractionation has been studied in the reaction of phenylacetylene with the excess of liquid Merck formic acid at 30 and 40 °C to see the contribution of the13C fractionation in the formolysis of transient -formoxystyrene to the experimentally observed global13C fractionation. The13C fractionation has been investigated also in the hydration of 1 ml of PhCCH with 1 ml of formic acid in the temperature interval of 80–100°C. The13C KIE equal to 1.0168 at 91.75 °C and 1.0167 at 100°C indicate that the self-decomposition of formic acid in such experimental conditions is already largely suppressed. The isotope effect is discussed within the framework of the sequence of reaction steps leading to acetophenone and carbon monoxide production listed in part I.  相似文献
