Hamiltonian Structure for Dispersive and Dissipative Dynamical Systems   总被引:2,自引:1,他引:2  
We develop a Hamiltonian theory of a time dispersive and dissipative inhomogeneous medium, as described by a linear response equation respecting causality and power dissipation. The proposed Hamiltonian couples the given system to auxiliary fields, in the universal form of a so-called canonical heat bath. After integrating out the heat bath the original dissipative evolution is exactly reproduced. Furthermore, we show that the dynamics associated to a minimal Hamiltonian are essentially unique, up to a natural class of isomorphisms. Using this formalism, we obtain closed form expressions for the energy density, energy flux, momentum density, and stress tensor involving the auxiliary fields, from which we derive an approximate, “Brillouin-type,” formula for the time averaged energy density and stress tensor associated to an almost mono-chromatic wave.  相似文献

An improved algorithm for symbolic computations of polynomial-type conservation laws (PCLaws) of a general polynomial nonlinear system is presented. The algorithm is implemented in Maple and can be successfully used for high-dimensional models. Furthermore, the algorithm discards the restriction to evolution equations. The program can also be used to determine the preferences for a given parameterized nonlinear systems. The code is tested on several known nonlinear equations from the soliton theory.  相似文献

Based on the generating functional of Green function for a dynamical system, the general equations of transformation properties at the quantum level are derived. In some cases they can be reduced to the quantum Noether theorem. In some other cases they can be reduced to momentum theorem or angular momentum theorem etc. at the quantum level. A new algorithm for symbolic computation of polynomial-type conserved densities for nonlinear evolution systems is presented. The algorithm is implemented in Maple. The improved algorithm is more efficient not only in removing the redundant terms of the general form of the conserved densities but also in solving the conserved densities with the associated flux synchronously without using Euler operator. Furthermore, the program conslaw. mpl can be used to determine the preferences for a given parameterized nonlinear evolution systems. The dynamical evolution of FRW cosmologies, minimally coupled to a finite set of scalar fields with an arbitrary potential, is studied. The general properties of the scale factor and the scalar fields, which are independent of the potential, are determined. It is shown that for k = 0, −1 the evolution of the Hubble function is growing, independently of thepotential, which allows expansive and contractive evolutions of the scale factor. Moreover, if the potential can take negative values, cyclic universes are possible. In the spherical geometry case, k = 1, the existence of expansive, contractive, or cyclic, universes is possible, independently of the condition stated above, namely that the potential would necessarily take negative values. Moreover, the existence of chaotic solutions can be obtained via a fine-tuning.  相似文献

This paper discusses the concept of controllable subspace for open quantum dynamical systems. It is constructively demonstrated that combining structural features of decoherence-free subspaces with the ability to perform open-loop coherent control on open quantum systems will allow decoherence-free subspaces to be controllable. This is in contrast to the observation that open quantum dynamical systems are not open-loop controllable. To a certain extent, this paper gives an alternative control theoretical interpretation on why decoherence-free subspaces can be useful for quantum computation.  相似文献

A multispecies gas described by coupled nonlinear Boltzmann equations is studied as a dynamical system. Properties are determined of theN coupled nonlinear ODEs for the number densities obtained from the Boltzmann equations for the spatially uniform system ofN species undergoing binary scattering, removal, and regeneration in the presence of an external force field and a reservoir of background gas. The physically realizable setQ, the nonnegative cone in theN-dimensional phase space of species number densities, is established as invariant under the flow. The fixed-point equations for the ODEs are shown to be equivalent to 2 N linear systems, and conditions for the stability and instability of the fixed points are then established. Stable fixed points are demonstrated to exist inQ by showing that they enter via a sequence of transcritical bifurcations as physical parameters are varied. For the two-species case the typical global structure of the solutions is established. Various particular cases are described including one which possesses an infinite family of periodic solutions and one that depends delicately upon initial conditions due to a separatrix that separatesQ into two invariant sets.  相似文献

This paper consists of two parts. First we set up a general scheme of local traps in a homogeneous deterministic quantum system. The current of particles caught by the trap is linked to the dynamical behaviour of the trap states. In this way, transport properties in a homogeneous system are related to spectral properties of a coherent dynamics. Next we apply the scheme to a system of Fermions in the one-particle approximation. We obtain in particular lower bounds for the dynamical entropy in terms of the current induced by the trap.  相似文献

To solve the dynamical consensus problem of second-order multi-agent systems with communication delay,delay-dependent compensations are added into the normal asynchronously-coupled consensus algorithm so as to make the agents achieve a dynamical consensus. Based on frequency-domain analysis, sufficient conditions are gained for second-order multi-agent systems with communication delay under leaderless and leader-following consensus algorithms respectively. We study the quantum Fisher information(QFI) dynamics of the phase parameter in the enlarged cavityreservoir systems at zero temperature under two situations of large N limit and non-Markovian environment,respectively.We find an important relation that the total quantities of QFI of the cavity and reservoir are equal to unit during the dynamical evolution.The lost QFI of the cavity transfers to its corresponding reservoir with the same quantities simultaneously.Moreover,we also find that the detuning parameter and non-Markovian effect are two significant factors to affect the preservation of QFI.  相似文献

Conservation laws for a class of variable coefficient nonlinear wave equations with power nonlinearities are investigated.The usual equivalence group and the generalized extended one including transformations which are nonlocal with respect to arbitrary elements are introduced.Then,using the most direct method,we carry out a classification of local conservation laws with characteristics of zero order for the equation under consideration up to equivalence relations generated by the generalized extended equivalence group.The equivalence with respect to this group and the correct choice of gauge coefficients of the equations play the major roles for simple and clear formulation of the final results.  相似文献

European Journal of Applied Mathematics 13, 567 is used for finding the local conservation laws for some nonlinear partial differential equations. The method does not require the use or existence of a variational principle and reduces the calculation of conservation laws to solving a system of linear determining equations similar to that of finding symmetries. An explicit construction formula is derived which yields a conservation law for each solution of the determining system. Different methods to construct new exact solution classes for the same nonlinear partial differential equations are also presented, which are named hyperbolic function method and the Bäcklund transformations. On the other hand, other methods and transformations are developed to obtain exact solutions for some nonlinear partial differential equations.  相似文献
