The synthesis of a new Schiff base derived from 2-hydroxy-5-chloroacetophenone and 4-amino-5-mercapto-3-methyl-1,2,4-triazole
and its coordination compounds with Ti(III), VO(IV), Cr(III), Mn(III), Fe(III), Zr(IV), MoO2(VI), and UO2(VI) are described. The ligand and the complexes have been characterized on the basis of analytical, electrical conductance,
molecular weight, IR and electronic spectra, magnetic susceptibility measurements, and thermogravimetric analysis. The ligand
acts as a dibasic tridentate molecule. Antibacterial activities of the ligand and its metal complexes have been determined
by screening the compounds against E. coli, S. typhi, P. aeruginosa, and S. aureus. The solid state de electrical conductivity of the ligand and its complexes have been measured over 313–403 K, and the complexes
were found to be of semiconducting nature.

Metal(II) complexes of 4-(((2-hydroxynaphthalen-1-yl)methylene)amino)-1,5-dimethyl-2-phenyl-1,2-dihydro-3H-pyrazol-3-one (HL) were prepared, and their compositions and physicochemical properties were characterized on the basis of elemental analysis, with1HNMR, UV–Vis, IR, mass spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis. All results confirm that the novel complexes have a 1:1 (M:HL) stoichiometric formulae [M(HL)Cl2] (M = Cu(II)(1), Cd(II)(5)), [Cu(L)(O2NO)(OH2)2](2), [Cu(HL)(OSO3)(OH2)3]2H2O(3), [Co(HL)Cl2(OH2)2]3H2O(4), and the ligand behaves as a neutral/monobasic bidentate/tridentate forming a five/six-membered chelating ring towards the metal ions, bonding through azomethine nitrogen, exocyclic carbonyl oxygen, and/or deprotonated phenolic oxygen atoms. The XRD studies show that both the ligand and Cu(II) complex (1) show polycrystalline with monoclinic crystal structure. The molar conductivities show that all the complexes are non-electrolytes. On the basis of electronic spectral data and magnetic susceptibility measurements, a suitable geometry has been proposed. The trend in g values (g ll > g ⊥ > 2.0023) suggest that the unpaired electron on copper has a \(d_{{x^{2} - y^{2} }}\) character, and the complex (1) has a square planar, while complexes (2) and (3) have a tetragonal distorted octahedral geometry. The molecular and electronic structures of the ligand (HL) and its complexes (1–5) have been discussed. Molecular docking was used to predict the binding between HL ligand and the receptors of the crystal structure of Escherichia coli (E. coli) (3t88) and the crystal structure of Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) (3q8u). The activation thermodynamic parameters, such as activation energy (E a), enthalpy (ΔH), entropy (ΔS), and Gibbs free energy change of the decomposition (ΔG) are calculated using Coats–Redfern and Horowitz–Metzger methods. The ligand and its metal complexes (1–5) showed antimicrobial activity against bacterial species such as Gram positive bacteria (Bacillus cereus and S. aureus), Gram negative bacteria (E. coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae) and fungi (Aspergillus niger and Alternaria alternata); the complexes exhibited higher activity than the ligand. 相似文献

A new Schiff base ligand named (E)‐2‐(((3‐aminophenyl)imino)methyl)phenol (HL) was prepared through condensation reaction of m‐phenylenediamine and 2‐hydroxybenzaldehyde in 1:1 molar ratio. The new ligand was characterized by elemental analysis and spectral techniques. The coordination behavior of a series of transition metal ions named Cr (III), Mn (II), Fe (III), Co (II), Ni (II), Cu (II), Zn (II) and Cd (II) with the newly prepared Schiff base ligand (HL) is reported. The nature of bonding and the stereochemistry of the complexes have been deduced from elemental analyses, IR, UV–Vis, 1H NMR, mass, electronic spectra, magnetic susceptibility and conductivity measurements and further their thermal stability was confirmed by thermogravimetric analysis (TG). From IR spectra, it was observed that the ligand is a neutral tridentate ligand coordinates to the metal ions through protonated phenolic oxygen, azomethine nitrogen and nitrogen atom of NH2 group. The existence, the number and the position of the water molecules was studied by thermal analysis. The molecular structures of the Schiff base ligand (HL) and its metal complexes were optimized theoretically and the quantum chemical parameters were calculated. The synthesized ligand and its complexes were screened for antimicrobial activities against bacterial species (Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillis subtilis, (gram positive bacteria)), (Salmonella SP., Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, (gram negative bacteria)) and fungi (Aspergillus fumigatus and Candida albicans). The complexes were found to possess high biological activities against different organisms. Molecular docking was used to predict the efficiency of binding between Schiff base ligand (HL) and both receptors of Escherichia coli (3 T88) and Staphylococcus aureus (3Q8U). The receptor of Escherichia coli (3 T88) showed best interaction with Schiff base ligand (HL) compared to receptor of Staphylococcus aureu (3Q8U). 相似文献

In order to develop new metallo-antimicrobials the complexes of type MLCl·nH2O ((1) M: Co, n = 0; (2) M: Ni, n = 2; (3) M: Cu, n = 2.5; (4) M: Zn, n = 0, HL: Schiff base derived from acetylacetone and 3-amino-4H-1,2,4-triazole) were synthesized by template condensation. The features of complexes have been assigned from microanalytical, IR and UV–Vis-NIR data. The species heating in air evidenced processes as melting, water and hydrochloride endothermic elimination as well as oxidative degradation of the Schiff base. The temperature ranges as well as modification in the electronic spectra of dehydrated intermediates indicate the presence of both coordination and crystallisation water molecules. The final product of decomposition was the most stable metal oxide as powder X-ray diffraction indicated. 相似文献

Gehad G. Mohamed M.M. Omar Amr A. Ibrahim 《Spectrochimica acta. Part A, Molecular and biomolecular spectroscopy》2010,75(2):678-685
Novel Schiff base (H2L) ligand is prepared via condensation of benzil and triethylenetetraamine. The ligand is characterized based on elemental analysis, mass, IR and 1H NMR spectra. Metal complexes are reported and characterized based on elemental analyses, IR, 1H NMR, solid reflectance, magnetic moment, molar conductance, and thermal analyses (TG, DTG and DTA). 1:1 [M]:[H2L] complexes are found from the elemental analyses data having the formulae [M(H2L)Cl2]·yH2O (M = Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II)), [Fe(H2L)Cl2]Cl·H2O, [Th(H2L)Cl2]Cl2·3H2O and [UO2(H2L)](CH3COO)2·2H2O. The metal chelates are found to be non-electrolytes except Fe(III), Th(IV) and UO2(II) complexes are electrolytes. IR spectra show that H2L is coordinated to the metal ions in a neutral tetradentate manner with 4Ns donor sites of the two azomethine N and two NH groups. The geometrical structures of these complexes are found to be octahedral. The thermal behaviour of these chelates is studied where the hydrated complexes lose water molecules of hydration in the first step followed immediately by decomposition of the anions and ligand molecules in the subsequent steps. The activation thermodynamic parameters are calculated using Coats–Redfern method. The ligand (H2L), in comparison to its metal complexes, is screened for its antibacterial activity. The activity data show that the metal complexes have antibacterial activity more than the parent Schiff base ligand and cefepime standard against one or more bacterial species. 相似文献

New metal based triazoles (1–12) have been synthesized by the interaction of novel Schiff base ligands (L1–L3) with the Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) metal ions. The Schiff base ligands and their all metal(II) complexes have been thoroughly characterized using various physical, analytical and spectroscopic techniques. In vitro bacterial and fungal inhibition studies were carried out to examine the antibacterial and antifungal profile of the Schiff bases in comparison to their metal(II) complexes against two Gram‐positive, four Gram‐negative and six fungal strains. The bioactivity data showed the metal(II) complexes to have more potent antibacterial and antifungal activity than their uncomplexed parent Schiff bases against one or more bacterial and fungal species. Three half-sandwich ruthenium(II) complexes with hydroxyl group functionalized Schiff-base ligands [Ru(p-cymene)LCl] ( 2a-2c ) have been synthesized and characterized. All ruthenium complexes were fully characterized by 1H and 13C NMR spectra, mass spectrometry and infrared spectrometry. The molecular structure of ruthenium complex 2c was confirmed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction methods. Furthermore, these half-sandwich ruthenium complexes were found to exhibit high catalytic activity for nitro compounds reduction using NaBH4 reducing agent in the presence of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) in water at room temperature. 相似文献

Metal complexes of La(III), Ce(IV), and Th(IV), with the amino Schiff base ligand, [N-(2-hydroxybenzyl)-l-methionine acid](H3L), were prepared in the presence of triethylamine as a deprotonating agent. All synthesized compounds were identified and confirmed by mass spectra, elemental analyses, molar conductivities, and spectral analyses (UV–Visible, IR, 1H NMR, and 13CNMR). Conductance measurements suggest the non-electrolytic nature and the complexes were isolated in 1:1 ratios. The thermal decomposition of the complexes was discussed in relation to structure. The data from thermogravimetric analysis clearly indicated that the decomposition of the complexes proceeds in four or five steps and the organic part of the complexes decomposed in one or two intermediates. The decomposition of all complexes ended with metal oxide and carbon residue. The Schiff bases and their complexes were screened for their antibacterial (Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus) and antifungal (Aspergillus flavus and Candida Albicans) activities. 相似文献

Metal complexes of Schiff base derived from condensation of o-vanilin (3-methoxysalicylaldehyde) and sulfametrole [N(1)-(4-methoxy-1,2,5-thiadiazole-3-yl)sulfanilamide] (H2L) are reported and characterized based on elemental analyses, IR, 1H NMR, solid reflectance, magnetic moment, molar conductance, mass spectra, UV-vis and thermal analysis (TGA). From the elemental analyses data, the complexes were proposed to have the general formulae [M2X3(HL)(H2O)5].yH2O (where M=Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II), X=Cl, y=0-3); [Fe2Cl5(HL)(H2O)3].2H2O; [(FeSO4)2(H2L)(H2O)4] and [(UO2)2(NO3)3(HL)(H2O)].2H2O. The molar conductance data reveal that all the metal chelates were non-electrolytes. The IR spectra show that, H2L is coordinated to the metal ions in a tetradentate manner with ON and NO donor sites of the azomethine-N, phenolic-OH, enolic sulphonamide-OH and thiadiazole-N. From the magnetic and solid reflectance spectra, it is found that the geometrical structures of these complexes are octahedral. The thermal behaviour of these chelates shows that the hydrated complexes losses water molecules of hydration in the first step followed immediately by decomposition of the anions and ligand molecules in the subsequent steps. The activation thermodynamic parameters, such as, E*, DeltaH*, DeltaS* and DeltaG* are calculated from the DrTG curves using Coats-Redfern method. The synthesized ligand, in comparison to their metal complexes also were screened for their antibacterial activity against bacterial species, Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhi, Bacillus subtillus, Staphylococcus aureus and Fungi (Aspergillus terreus and Aspergillus flavus). The activity data show that the metal complexes to be more potent/antimicrobial than the parent Shciff base ligand against one or more microbial species. 相似文献

In this study, the Schiff base ligands H2L1–H2L3 and their CuII, CoII, NiII, FeIII RuIII and VOIV complexes have been prepared and characterized by spectroscopic and analytical techniques. All the complexes are mononuclear.
Keto-enol tautomeric forms of the ligands have been investigated in polar and apolar solvents. The ligands favor the keto-form
in the C7H8 and C6H14. The C–C coupling reaction of the 2,6-di-t-butylphenol has been investigated by the CoII and CuII complexes. Thermal properties of the complexes have been assessed using thermal techniques and similar properties were found.
In the FeIII and RuIII complexes, firstly, the coordinated water molecule is lost from the complex; in the second step, the chloride ion leaves
the molecule in the 300–350 °C temperature range. Finally, the complexes decompose to the appropriate metal oxide at the higher
temperature ranges. The electrochemical properties of the complexes have been studied in the two different solvents (DMF and
CH3CN). 相似文献

Six Schiff base compounds have been prepared from the condensation of o-vanillin, 2,3-dihydroxybenzaldehyde and 2,3,4-trihydroxybenzaldehyde with 4-aminosalicylic acid and 5-aminosalicylic acid (5-ASA). Addition of these Schiff bases to [Pd(OAc)2] afforded the corresponding bis(salicylaldiminato)palladium(II) complexes in moderate to excellent yields. All new palladium complexes have been characterized fully using standard spectroscopic methods, elemental analyses and a single-crystal X-ray diffraction study in the case of 2e, the palladium complex containing Schiff base ligands derived from 5-ASA and 2,3-dihydroxybenzaldehyde. All derivatives of 5-ASA were examined for potential antimicrobial activities against two species of fungi, Aspergillus niger and Saccharomyces cerevisiae, as well as two species of bacteria, Bacillus cereus (Gram-positive) and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (Gram-negative). 相似文献

Several mononuclear Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Fe(II) complexes of tetradentate salpren-type diimine, obtained from 3,5-di-tert-butyl-2-hydroxybenzaldehyde and 1,3-diaminopropane have been prepared and characterized by analytical, spectroscopic (FT-IR,
UV–VIS) techniques, magnetic susceptibility measurements and thermogravimetric analyses (TG). The thermodynamic and thermal
properties of complexes have been investigated. For further characterization Direct Insertion Probe-Mass Spectrometry (DIP-MS)
was used and the fragmentation pattern and also stability of the ions were evaluated. The characterization of the end products
of the decomposition was achieved by X-ray diffraction. The thermal stabilities of metal complexes of N,N′-bis(3,5-di-t-butylsalicylidene)-1,3-propanediamine ligand (L) were found as Ni(II) > Cu(II) > Co(II) > Fe(II). 相似文献

The production of new biocidal polyester Schiff base metal complexes [PESB–M(II)] via polycondensation reaction between chelated
Schiff base diol and adipoyl chloride is reported. The resulting polyesters were characterized by physico-chemical and spectroscopic
methods. The analytical data of all the synthesized polyesters were found to be in good agreement with 1:1 molar ratio of
chelated Schiff base diol to adipoyl chloride. Thermogravimetric analyses of synthesized polyesters were studied by TG in
nitrogen atmosphere up to 1073 K and results indicate that Cu(II) polyester complex exhibited better heat resistant properties
than the other polyesters complexes. Magnetic moment and UV–visible spectra were examined to explain the structure of all
the polyesters which reveled that Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II) have octahedral geometry while Cu(II) possess a distorted octahedral
geometry. These newly developed polyesters were also tested for their antibacterial activity against several bacteria and
fungi. Among all the tested compounds PESB–Cu(II) possess the highest bactericidal and fungicidal activity. 相似文献

We have synthesized the three Schiff-base ligands H2L1–H2L3 and their CoII, FeIII and RuIII metal complexes. All compounds have been characterized by analytical and spectroscopic methods. Oxidation of cyclohexane has been done by the metal complexes in CH3CN using H2O2 and/or t-butylhydroperoxide (TBHP) as a co-catalyst. The keto-enol tautomeric forms of the ligands have been studied in polar and non-polar organic solvents. Electrochemical properties of the complexes have been studied at different scan rates. Thermal studies were carried out for the compounds. The ligands H2L1–H2L3 were mutagenic on Salmonella Typhimurium TA 98 strain in the presence and/or absence of S9 mix. While the ligands H2L1 and H2L2 showed mutagenic activity on the strain TA 100 with and without S9 mix, the ligand H2L3 was not mutagenic for TA 100. Antimicrobial activity studies of the compounds have also been carried out. 相似文献

A novel Schiff base namely (E)-3-((2,6-dihydroxypyrimidin-4-ylimino)methyl)-4H-chromen-4-one and its Co (II), N (II)i, Cu (II) and Cd (II) complexes have been synthesized and proved by elemental analysis, molar conductance, thermal analysis (TGA), Inductive Coupled plasma (ICP), magnetic moment measurements, X-ray powder diffraction, IR, EI-mass,1H NMR, 13C NMR,UV–Vis. and ESR spectral studies. On the basis of these data, it is evident that the Schiff base acts as bidentate via oxygen atom of carbonyl group and azomethine nitrogen atom for Co (II) complex; monobasic bidentate ligand for Ni (II), Cu (II) and Cd (II) complexes via oxygen atom of hydroxyl group and nitrogen atom of pyrimidine ring. The results showed all complexes have octahedral geometry. The average particle size of the ligand and its complexes were found to be 1.010–0.343 nm. The pharmacological action (antioxidant, antimicrobial and anticancer) of the prepared compounds is studied. The antitumor activity of the ligand and its metal complexes is evaluated against human liver carcinoma (HEPG2) cell. The data displayed the Co (II) complexes strong cytotoxicity where IC50 values of Co (II) complex and 5-fluorouracil (stander drug) are 9.33 and 7.86 μg/ml respectively. The Co (II) and Cd (II) complexes have antibacterial activity more than ampicillin (stander drug). The interaction of the synthesized compounds with calf-thymus DNA (CT-DNA) has been performed via absorption spectra and viscosity technique. The DNA- binding constants have been determined. 相似文献

A new series of mercaptopyrimidine Ru(III) complexes were synthesized and characterized using various spectral techniques like single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared and NMR spectroscopies, thermogravimetric analysis and energy‐dispersive X‐ray analysis. The complexes were evaluated for their pharmacological activities like in vitro antimicrobial, anticancer, antituberculosis and antioxidant activities. The DNA binding of the complexes was investigated by absorption and emission spectral measurements which indicated that the complexes bind to DNA via intercalation, with molecular docking studies validating the results. DNA cleavage studies of the complexes were carried out. 相似文献

A series of Cu(II), Co(II), Pd(II), Pt(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and Fe(III) complexes were designed and synthesized using Schiff base 1‐phenyl‐2,3‐dimethyl‐4‐(N‐3‐formyl‐6‐methylchromone)‐3‐pyrazolin‐5‐one (HL). The new metal complexes were investigated using various physicochemical techniques including elemental and thermal analyses, molar electric conductivity and magnetic susceptibility measurements, as well as spectroscopic methods. Also, the crystal structures of ligand HL and the Pd(II) complex were determined using single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction analysis. For all compounds, the antimicrobial activity was studied against a series of standard strains: Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus cereus, Enterococcus faecalis, Escherichia coli, Acinetobacter baumannii, Candida albicans, Candida krusei and Cryptococcus neoformans. The in vitro antiproliferative activity of the ligand and complexes was evaluated against ten cancer cell lines: MSC, A375, B16 4A5, HT‐29, MCF‐7, HEp‐2, BxPC‐3, RD, MDCK and L20B. At 10 μM concentration a significant cytotoxic effect of the Co(II), Pd(II) and Cd(II) complexes was observed against B16 4A5 murine melanoma cells. The Zn(II) complex is active against HEp‐2, RD and MDCK cancer cell lines, where IC50 values vary between 1.0 and 77.6 and for BxPC‐3 the activity index versus doxorubicin is 3.7 times higher. 相似文献
