The accelerators should be properly designed to make the radiation field produced by beam loss satisfy the dose limits. The radiation field for high intensity H- cyclotron includes prompt radiation and residual radiation field. The induced radioactivity in accelerator components is the dominant source of occupational radiation exposure if the accelerator is well shielded. The source of radiation is the beam loss when cyclotron is operating. In this paper, the radiation field for CYCIAE-100 is calculated using Monte Carlo method and the radioactive contamination near stripping foil is studied. A method to reduce the dose equivalent rate of maintenance staff is also given.  相似文献

In recent years, oncologic diseases have become a severe issue in developed countries. Proton therapy is viewed as one of the most efficient methods of treating oncologic diseases. The results of computing the beam dynamics in a C235 medical cyclotron intended for proton therapy are presented. The cyclotron was modified by teams of researchers at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research and Ion Beam Application (IBA Group, Belgium). Possible reasons for losses in the beam under acceleration are considered, and the influence of the magnetic field radial component in the median plane of the accelerator is studied. The results of analysis and upgrading of the beam extraction system are presented. Based on analytical data, the design of the commercial C235 cyclotron is considerably modified. A new version of the C235-V3 cyclotron will be placed in commission at the Dimitrovgrad center of radiation medicine.  相似文献

一台新的治癌专用加速器HITFiL正在设计和建造中,其中一台同步加速器为其主加速器,以高紧凑性、高可靠性和低成本为设计目标。同步加速器的注入系统采用剥离注入方式,剥离注入与单圈注入方式相比能达到较高的注入效率,而其造价明显低于多圈注入加电子冷却的注入方式。治癌采用碳粒子束,从ECR离子源产生的C5+离子经过回旋加速器预加速后在同步加速器注入点处剥离成为C6+注入到环里。详细阐述了该注入系统的设计方案,并对整个注入过程进行了计算机模拟。在模拟过程中,对束流的注入效率、束流损失机制和粒子数增益进行了研究,得到了实空间和相空间的粒子分布和发射度增长趋势,得到了满足要求的束流流强。  相似文献

The scientific design of a 14-MeV H? compact superconducting cyclotron for producing of the 18F and 13N isotopes has been developed. Main requirements to the facility as a medical accelerator are met in the design. In particular, the main requirement for the cyclotron was the smallest possible size due to the superconducting magnet. The calculations show that the proposed cyclotron allows extracted beam intensity over 500 μA. To increase system reliability and production rates, an external H? ion source is applied. The choice of the cyclotron concept, design of the structure elements, calculation of the electromagnetic fields and beam dynamics from the ion source to the extraction system were performed.  相似文献

Multi-charged helium ion beam He2+ is useful for helium accelerator to obtain a higher energy with lower cost and for deuterium accelerator to avoid neutron activation during machine commissioning.An attempt to generate milliampere multi-charged helium He2+ion beam with a 2.45 GHz electron cyclotron resonance ion source(ECRIS) was tested recently.A design using a specfic permanent magnet 2.45 GHz ECRIS(PMECRIS) source(ERCIS) is reported and the He2+beam production ability is described.With this source,we produced a total helium beam of 40 mA at 40 kV with 180 W of net microwave power and a gas flow of less than 0.5 sccm.At steady state the He2+beam intensity is 4.4 mA,that being the fraction of multi-charged helium ion beam is at approximately 11%.  相似文献

The concept of the gyro-resonant accelerator (GYRAC), which is based on cyclotron resonance in a magnetic field that is increasing slowly in time, is presented. Previously published work shows that this results in an autoresonance in which the wave provides a synchronous acceleration of the electrons. Using a simple model makes it possible to design a particularly compact, cyclic electron accelerator; in a cavity with a 1-m radius and final magnetic field of 5 T, electron energy reaches 680 MeV, giving rise to synchrotron radiation of 1 keV. Assuming uniform fields and rescaling time, a Hamiltonian system is arrived at which has one degree of freedom and which, in first-order approximation is time independent. In a second-order approximation, a slow damping of the autoresonant oscillation is found. A paraxial model for beam and fields allows evaluation of the charge effects-the GYRAC then resembles the betatron. These results are illustrated by numerical three-dimensional simulations  相似文献

Proton therapy is an effective method of treating oncologic diseases. In Russia, construction of several centers for proton and ion therapy is slated for the years to come. A proton therapy center in Dimitrovgrad will be the first. The Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (Russia) in collaboration with Ion Beam Application (IBA) (Belgium) has designed an C235-V3 medical proton cyclotron for this center. It outperforms previous versions of commercial IBA cyclotrons, which have already been installed in 11 oncologic hospital centers in different countries. Experimental and calculation data for the beam dynamics in the C235-V3 medical cyclotron are presented. Reasons for beam losses during acceleration are considered, the influence of the magnetic field radial component in the midplane of the accelerator and main resonances is studied, and a beam extraction system is designed. In 2011–2012 in Dubna, the cyclotron was mounted, its magnetic field was properly configured, acceleration conditions were optimized, and beam extraction tests were carried out after which it was supplied to Dimitrovgrad. In the C235-V3 cyclotron, an acceleration efficiency of 72% and an extraction efficiency of 62% have been achieved without diaphragming to form a vertical profile of the beam.  相似文献

质子辐射生物学效应是太空放射生物学和质子束放疗研究的重要基础,可为空间环境下人员的危险性评估以及质子治疗优化设计提供科学依据。依托加速器建立相应的生物样本辐照技术是开展此类研究的前提条件。中国原子能科学研究院最近建立的100 MeV强流质子回旋加速器提供的中能质子束流为目前国内能量最高,特别适合用于太空放射生物学和质子治疗相关研究。本研究中,利用在束和离线等多种手段建立了中能质子束流诊断和剂量测量方法,对加速器引出的100 MeV质子照射野大小、均匀性等束流品质以及剂量测量系统准确性进行了分析和评估。结果表明,对光子剂量响应好的LiF(Mg, Ti)热释光探测器,对90 MeV质子同样具有良好的剂量响应关系,可作为中能质子剂量准确性评估的手段之一。在5.0 cm×5.0 cm照射野范围内,加速器引出的100 MeV质子束流的均匀性好于90%,在线剂量测量系统准确性好于93%,束流品质和剂量测量条件基本满足辐射生物学的要求,可为质子辐射生物学效应研究的开展提供可靠保障。  相似文献

In Flerov’s Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions of JINR in the framework of project “Beta” a cyclotron complex for a wide range of applied research in nanotechnology (track membranes, surface modification, etc.) is created. The complex includes a dedicated heavy-ion cyclotron DC-110, which yields intense beams of accelerated ions Ar, Kr and Xe with a fixed energy of 2.5 MeV/A. The cyclotron is equipped with external injection on the base of ECR ion source, a spiral inflector and the system of ions extraction consisting of an electrostatic deflector and a passive magnetic channel. The results of calculations of the beam dynamics in measured magnetic field from the exit of spiral inflector to correcting magnet located outside the accelerator vacuum chamber are presented. It is shown that the design parameters of ion beams at the entrance of correcting magnet will be obtained using false channel, which is a copy of the passive channel, located on the opposite side of the magnetic system. Extraction efficiency of ions will reach 75%.  相似文献

The project of a 10 Me V PET cyclotron accelerator for medical diagnosis and treatment was started at Amirkabir University of Technology in 2012. The low-level RF system of the cyclotron accelerator is designed to stabilize acceleration voltage and control the resonance frequency of the cavity. In this work an Intelligent Low Level Radio Frequency Circuit or ILLRF, suitable for most AVF cyclotron accelerators, is designed using a beam monitoring device and narrow band tunable band-pass filter. In this paper, we focus on a PIG source for producing intense H-ions inside a 9 MeV cyclotron. The properties of the PIG ion source were simulated for a variety of electric field distributions and magnetic field strengths using a CST particle studio. After analyzing the secondary electron emission (SEE) as a function of both magnetic and electric field strengths, we found that for the modeled PIG geometry, a magnetic field strength of 0.2 T provided the best results in terms of the number of secondary electrons. Furthermore, at 0.2 T, the number of secondary electrons proved to be greatest regardless of the cathode potential. Also, the modified PIG ion source with quartz insulation tubes was tested in a KIRAMS-13 cyclotron by varying the gas flow rate and arc current, respectively. The capacity of the designed ion source was also demonstrated by producing plasma inside the constructed 9 MeV cyclotron. As a result, the ion source is verified as being capable of producing an intense H- beam and high ion beam current for the desired 9 MeV cyclotron. The simulation results provide experimental constraints for optimizing the strength of the plasma and final ion beam current at a target inside a cyclotron.  相似文献

At RIKEN,three ECR ion sources(10GHz ECRIS,18GHz ECRIS and liquid He-free SC-ECRIS) are operated as external ion sources of heavy ion accelerators.In the last year,multi-charged uranium ion beam was produced from 18GHz ECRIS by using UF_6 and the ~(238)U ion was successfully accelerated by the accelerator complex which consists of the RFQ linear accelerator,RIKEN heavy ion linear accelerator(RILAC)and RIKEN ring cyclotron accelerator(RRC).The typical beam intensity of~(238)U~(14 ) was about 2pμA on faraday cup after analysing magnet.~(70)Zn beam was still supplied for the new super-heavy element search experiment with insertion method.Intense beam of~(70)Zn~(16 ) was produced for long term(~43 days)without vacuum break and remarkably low material consumption rate(~100μgr/h).We already supplied Zn beam longer than 200 days for this experiment.~(48)Ca ion was also produced by insertion method using~(48)CaO rod for the nuclear physics experiment.In this contribution,we will present ion source parameter and techniques for production of each of the metal ions.  相似文献

在考虑束团内粒子之间的空间电荷相互作用力的条件下,对日本理化研究所(RIKEN)现有的一台注入器(加速常数为K70的AVF型回旋加速器)中束团的演变过程进行了模拟计算.模拟结果表明,束团的形变、束晕现象同样发生在回旋加速器中,不过,其产生机制不同于直线加速器.它不是由共振和混沌引起,而是由于粒子的排斥运动和束团内粒子的涡流运动引起的.  相似文献

基于束流沉积法测量回旋加速器内部束流参数将在束测探头上产生感生放射性污染,从而对加速器调束工作人员带来不必要的辐射危害。采用AGM-6型监测仪对探头感生放射性进行在线测量,通过测量不同半径处探头受辐射后的空气比释动能率,间接反映探头感生放射性的强弱和危害。研究结果表明,在束流调试实验中,应尽量降低馈入高频的占空比;探头测量后冷却2~3 h取出,则不需要考虑测量探头辐照后的残留感生放射性的危害。  相似文献

The specialized DC-110 heavy ion cyclotron has been developed and created at the Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research for the BETA research and production complex in Dubna (Russia), which allows producing intense accelerated Ar, Kr, and Xe ion beams with a fixed energy of 2.5 MeV/nucleon. Commissioning works on the cyclotron complex, during which the design parameters were obtained, were carried out at the end of 2012. During commissioning of the accelerator, vertical displacement of the beam was found at the final acceleration radii and during its extraction. It is shown that the main cause of this displacement was the occurrence of a radial component of the magnetic field in the median plane of the magnet caused by asymmetry of the magnetic circuit. Vertical beam displacement was corrected by creating asymmetry of the current in the main electromagnet winding of the DC-110 cyclotron.  相似文献

应相关建设安评、环评、稳评以及职业健康评估的要求,电子加速器设计过程中即应对其辐射情况进行分析。针对电子能量为40~95 MeV可调的光阴极微波电子枪直线加速器,对其辐射源项进行分析,并讨论了可能的辐射防护措施的效果。采用蒙特卡罗软件FLUKA对电子束流和加速器进行建模,通过模拟计算发现,加速器产生的等效剂量分布主要位于废束桶中,废束桶以外辐射剂量迅速下降,在电子加速器实验大厅四周设置混凝土墙体的情况下辐射等效剂量率将随墙体厚度迅速下降。若混凝土墙体厚度设置为1 m,则墙体外工作人员所在区域辐射等效剂量率不高于1 μSv/h量级,能够有效屏蔽加速器产生的电离辐射,给工作人员提供有效防护。研究方法及结果对同能区同类型加速器建设中的辐射分析及辐射防护评估具有一定的参考价值。  相似文献

The development of a cyclotron magnetic system based on superconducting sector magnets is discussed. The cyclotron is conceived as a booster accelerator of a source of 12С6+ ions with energy of 400MeV/nucleon for the purposes of hadron therapy. The results of preliminary investigations aimed at developing such a facility have been reported in our previous papers. In this paper, we consider various configurations of the booster’s magnetic system for various field levels. We also analyze the effects of the positions and shapes of superconducting coils on the magnetic field and select the optimum configuration for the cyclotron’s magnetic system.  相似文献

A linear analysis is described on stabilities driven by an intense relativistic electron beam in an infinitely long, plasma-filled, and dielectric-lined circular waveguide immersed in a finite strength axial magnetic field. A dispersion equation is derived from the cold fluid theory and solved numerically. Beam-plasma instabilities due to interaction between beam modes and the Trivelpiece-Gould modes appear as well as the Cherenkov and the cyclotron Cherenkov instabilities. Parametric researches are carried out varying magnetic field strength, plasma density, and dielectric constant. Effects of a finite magnetic field and plasma filling are discussed in connection with the possibilities of using this system as a microwave radiation source.  相似文献

给出10MeV质子等时性回旋加速器的等时性磁场设计,中心区的设计以及加速后最终的束流品质,该加速器可作为正电子断层扫描装置的配套设备,用于生产中短寿命放射性同位素等.它沿半径方向只用一套线圈励磁,等时性磁场的建立完全由磁极形状决定.中心区的设计满足了轨道中心化的要求,并给出较大的横向和纵向接受度,以获得足够的束流强度. 经过172圈加速后,最终的束流品质满足要求.  相似文献
